Worked then cut the grass. In the pool for a little and then church. Took a walk around the neighborhood after dinner. I find that that helps settle my stomach (somewhat)
Debbie – you’re singing my song about the people trying to get away with things. Yes, fortunately the majority are so thankful and grateful, they don’t push the rules.
Allie – I didn’t realize that Tom had already retired. So he didn’t try to push for lower alimony??? That’s a great playpen
Took my walk around the neighborhood. I DO NOT like this getting dark early stuff.
Beth – that’s great about your sons’ migraines. What cool “pig snouts”

Lanette I bought a cross shredder at Office Max. The 10 page version because it was the same size as my old one and I liked the size. Recommended to put lubricate right in to slot and leave for 20 minutes before starting to shred. No thick cardboard or too thin of paper. No window inserts or DVD in this one. I am putting about 6 paper at a time so be on the safe side. So far so good. Pile is shrinking. It will be good for continual shredding. I am also putting some lubricate on a piece of paper when I fill the bin. It will automatically shut off before it gets too full. I guess in the past shredders would clog if the shredded paper got too close to the bins. I do shake it a bit to by a little more time before I empty it.3

Quite a set up for our sweet Miles, Allie! And here, I used to shove all 3 kids into one bedroom. So a baby, a 4 yr old and an 9 yr old. We had a bunk bed for the 4 and 9, and the crib turned into a toddler bed. We were like that until the eldest got into high school.

Everyone take care, Sue in WA2 -
Tracey - I love to hear you sounding more optimistic and with more energy. Why is it that we don't recognise what is going on with us until we are out of it? I've been the same in the past. Now I usually catch it earlier. It only took me nearly 74 years!
I really hope your daughter is able to achieve her happiness before too long. Sending love.
Quiet day today. I'm hoping to do a veggie curry tonight. Have cauliflower, chickpeas and sweet potato. Didn’t eat the broccoli yesterday as meals were a bit sideways. Hope it holds out for tomorrow. Might change and use it today for frittata. I bought huge free range eggs yesterday. Your chicks would have bust, Lanette.

I like exercising to the point where I'm huffing and puffing. Stair climbing is particularly good for that.
Stored Energy
Fat cells are used primarily for energy to work the muscles and move the body. In addition, energy stored as fat also helps insulate the body and protect its vital organs.
When you consume more calories than your body needs, however, the excess energy remains stored. The stored energy (triglycerides) is collected as fat (lipid) within the individual fat cells, which slowly accumulate over time and result in weight gain.
...
How Does Fat Leave the Body?
The lungs are the primary organ used to remove fat from your body.1 During the energy conversion process, fat leaves the body either as carbon dioxide when you exhale, or as water in the form of urine or sweat.
Body fat does not turn into muscle or exit the body through the colon.

Tips to Promote Fat Loss
When combined with a healthy, balanced diet filled with nutrient-dense foods, physical activity is probably the best thing you can do to get your heart rate up and increase your oxygen intake, which can help promote fat loss. Keep in mind that you'll still need to burn more calories than you're consuming to create a calorie deficit in order to lose weight.
Exercise increases your metabolism or the rate your body uses energy. Meerman suggests that you can use up more stored fat by performing physical activities that double your metabolic rate—for example, swapping out one hour of rest with exercises like brisk walking or light jogging.

68 is still young enough to do quite a lot.
My husband, with a severe brain injury, is still cycling 50 km rides and doing quite a bit of gardening. If he didn't have the brain injury, he'd be doing a lot more.

Beth-outstanding news about son's migraines. Hope the rising keeps up!
Michelle-I hope your concerns about Denise are off base, but they do seem to be standoffish.
Lisa-your sleep sounds much improved! Hope it continues.
Sue-glad your horses weren't more adventurous!
Rebecca-we are like family with some of our folks-they have come to us for several years. We don't have a separate area for prayer with the customers, but I did pass on the general needs of them them to the group through our email chain afterwards and the church pastor passed it on as a special message to the prayer chain. You never know the pain others may be experiencing or the reason they are presenting to you.

Tracey-you are so very crafty. You could start a home business selling stuff on-line.
Great day with SS and family yesterday. Boys played well in their game and their team won. It was their first time playing contact football but they seem to be catching on (3rd grade). Hectic time getting things ready for baptism at pond for SS and boys but it was a very nice event. Got home late. Tired but happy.
Heating up here today for hot week. Going to stop in to church this am. Basically getting ready before I go for my walk. It's cool enough right now that I won't be too sweaty after! After that a couple of reports for work that I have been avoiding for way too long and one I recently discovered I over looked and is late going to state office-but they can get over it.
Take care all,

The next two weeks are the same course. Learning how to teach math and English to exceptional children.
Today I have done some crafting for myself and DH. I also made mugs and coasters for my cousin who is renting us their camper. This will be a thank you gift.
Now I’m being lazy.

Go you!

Machka Always love seeing your wedding pic. Like you I’ve been diagnosed with venous insufficiency after blood clots in my left leg. Wonder if I have the same mutation? Was the genetic test expensive?
Barbara, the Southern Oregon Coastie
My genetic mutation is MTHFR (methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase), and I'm homozygous for MTHRF meaning that both my parents have genetic mutations.
Gene mutations are inherited, which means you acquire them from your parents. At conception, you receive one copy of the MTHFR gene from each parent. If both have mutations, your risk of having a homozygous mutation is higher.
https://www.healthline.com/health/mthfr-gene#variants
My mutation is C677T.
The MTHFR C677T mutation can lead to high levels of homocysteine in the blood and low levels of folate and other vitamins. At it happens, when I was diagnosed, I had quite a high homocysteine level - I was "high risk".
I need to take Vit B12, Vit B6 and Megafol 5 (folic acid 5mg) because MTHFR can lead to a deficiency in them. Magnesium is also recommended, so I take that.
Nexium is a big ol' no-no for me because Nexium blocks absorption of vitamin B12 and other nutrients (including Magnesium).
The test cost me $0.00.
I'm not sure if that's because it doesn't cost anything in Australia or if it is because my travel insurance covered it.
The test method is described as a Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and restriction enzyme analysis.

Happy Sunday, my peeps...
Ginny - I find it amazing how much sleep matters to my every day outlook. I know that sounds like I'm an ignoramus, but I honestly slept, on average, four hours a night throughout my entire working life. I was always the first one in to work, because I was up at 3 a.m., so it was easy for me. Now I genuinely need that seven or eight hours sleep to feel reasonably decent. I am always impressed by those of you who volunteer your time, like you and Michele and Debbie. It's a good thing you're doing.
Michele - I'm so sorry that Denise has bailed on you once more. Wish I had some words that could heal that hurt... I genuinely hope you're wrong that there's abuse involved at any level. It appears there is no expiration date on worrying about our kids, though.
Heather - Sounds like you've had a couple quiet days without your houseful of family! Your stepdaughter's smile echoes Johnnie's; it's a lovely photo.
Allie - I'm sorry you woke up in pain, dear heart. Hope the rheumatologist has some answers. Hope too, that the pain fades while you're enjoying your cruise, too! It's just around the corner...
Yesterday started out rough and pretty well stayed that way. Woke up in pain, stayed that way all day. Woke up feeling SO much better today. This may be because I crashed for a two-hour nap yesterday, and slept six straight hours last night. Feeling quite a bit better--like my body was trying to get rid of something yesterday, and today it's better. Grateful for the lack of pain. It takes over everything, in the end, makes it hard to think or operate at any level.
In just a few hours yesterday, with a few cups of Kilz (paint that will cover anything) and a paintbrush, Corey spiffed up our bathroom, made our kitchen cabinets look clean and pretty again, and took two of what I considered to be major tasks off my list completely. Because he's willing to do it well now, and worry about perfect later, if at all.
"Don't let the perfect be the enemy of the good." I thought I believed that. I really NEED to learn to believe that doing it well now is better than going into my usual analysis paralysis and not doing it at all.
I'm trying to learn, I swear.

Love y'all!
