I use alcohol pens and gel pens. But that means that the colouring books need to be on one page, not both sides of the page because they bleed through. I also use 2 or 3 blank pieces of paper under each page because there can be a lot of bleeding through.

Just finished the 2nd poly coat. Very pleased with how it turned out. Will post a pic once the last coat goes on tomorrow. Some of the boards in the heavier traffic areas still look a bit worn but I like it. They are nicely sanded and I think the grains of the beautiful oak show up so well. Glad I didn’t stain it as I like the look with the clear finish.

I have read through but didn’t take notes.
My cousin’s son has a broken pelvis, a broken arm in one place and dislocated in two others.
One of their friends has a broken hip as well, but the four children and one other adult were all banged and bruised but otherwise ok.

They were driving in a farmers field and there was a large dip in the middle that they didn’t see in time to stop. My cousins son had the side by side land on him. He wasn’t buckled.

The accident happened Sunday evening in their town a couple hours from me. He was transferred from that local hospital to one in another small town before arriving at one of our city hospitals, around 4 Monday morning.
He was then in emerg until 230 am Tuesday waiting for a transfer to the hospital that could treat his injuries.
He was told Tuesday at 4 in the afternoon after being told his surgery would be at noon he was told his surgery was cancelled and would happen this morning.
They finally allowed hkm to eat for the first time since Sunday at about 8pm Tuesday night. He was not allowed to eat past midnight because he was scheduled for surgery this morning.
This morning they cancelled his surgery until Friday.
This poor man has been in agony all these days, and yet has been positive and pleasant to the staff.
I have been going back and forth to the hospital with my cousin and she is staying her with me.

Kim - I well remember the TV pictures of your earthquake. It made quite an impression on me.

Tracey - What an awful accident. So sorry they haven't got the surgery done, but I guess a pelvis is a bit complicated and crucial. Need the right surgeon.

I had a bit of diarrhoea before I went to bed last night, and again in the middle of the night and this morning. I haven't gone down to breakfast. DH seems fine and he has eaten all the same things. I feel OK right now and will make myself another cup of tea in a minute. I hope that's the last of it.
My app says we don't have to check out until 11.30 and our train is 12.01, so that's perfect. We get a taxi to the airport at Montpellier and fly from there.
I'm a bit nervous, but will settle, I'm sure.

Miss Idelia- Hey there! I saw your post, didn't have time to comment; then was happy to see you post again! So sorry to hear about your health issues. You and I are in the same business; childcare. I definitely know that feeling that it is getting harder and harder to keep up with the little ones. I remember, 30 years ago, when I started caring for children, I was running with them, chasing them, spinning them, giving horsey rides, etc. Now, I let them do the running and playing and I just supervise. From time to time I am on my hands and knees with them, but no horsey rides. If I am on the floor/ground it is usually to interact with an infant or pick up things. Come visit as often as you can. Even if it just to read and follow everyone's day to day. In doing that, you will see how many of us are facing the same or similar challenges and it is always interesting to see how others handle life's challenges.
Heather- Your trip looks like it was just wonderful and relaxing! Johnny's daughter sure looks like him. (Happy birthday, to him, by the way). I bet Bea's sweet face and song was a great surprise. Such a sweetie!
Kim- I remember watching the rescues and responses to the earthquake on tv. I was pregnant for my daughter and it seems the tv was on constantly for a few days. I remember specifically watching the overpass rescues on the tv at work (i worked in a restaurant). So heartbreaking! But I agree it is so inspiring to see what humans can do to help each other in times of great need.
Lisa- I love reading about your mornings and seeing the picks of Egg on your lap. I always thought she was a gray kitty. In your most recent pic, she looks like a Tortie?
Tracey So sorry to hear of the accident with your family! How scary! Sending healing thoughts/prayers/vibes to your family.
Allie- Family drama is so hard! I think the best thing to keep in mind is that everyone reacts to things the only way they know how/the only way their brain can. Because we have all been raised differently (even in the same family; kids can be raised differently depending on what their parents have been through). As Carmine ages and matures, they will begin to understand and see their parent's point of view. It is hard stuff to deal with in the moment though. Hugs my friend.
Walk Score- Grand Haven, Mi (my town) has a walking score of 89. We have a cycling score of 76. I suppose you could walk to get all of your errands done if you live within the city limits. We have nice walkways, bike paths, trails, parks, etc. I live about three miles outside of the city limits (in the township) and we even have nice bike paths out here. They are maintained by a whole cleaning crew/machines, year round.

Going to get an echocardiogram this morning. I was supposed to get the chemical stress test but forgot and drank a diet coke at lunchtime so cancelled it. Rescheduled for Nov.
