Machka without his hearing aids he can't hear me unless I'm standing right in front of him screaming. I can't wake him up from the door. It turned out okay, we went to pay the bill about 9:30.
Today's issue is that he lost some important papers. It never ends. Well they will likely turn up eventually.
Yes I need to take over more and more stuff every week. I guess I need a phone reminder to get the trash out.

Morning ladies
Yes I always have a great time with Doris..told her if she needs a ride anywhere to call me..she has eye issues sort of the same type but not as bad as my brother but at 92 she knows its about time..her kids all work.and 1 lives in Florida ..and im home so if she needs help I'll do what I can..she is the only momma I have left...
Its supposed to be up to 75 degrees today sheesh crazy weather for the end of October..3 -
We just had an outage on the mfp website. Only just been able to get back on.
Took a lovely pile of clothes to the charity shop this morning. All good stuff, including some semi-formal shirts that DH never wears any more. He volunteered them. They will be perfect for men needing something smart for interviews.
Then I popped into the artisan bakery, and the Asian shop for Dim Sum. We'll probably have some of that for lunch tomorrow.
Called into the wine merchant for Brittany cider, and DH was there ordering red wine. So my cider will go in the delivery later today.
This afternoon I put a load of baking tins on Freecycle. Good feeling.
Love to all, Heather UK xxxxxxxx5 -

Wrote this offline, as I could get to the regular part of MFP just fine, but the community area, where the thread lives, appeared to be out of order from my point of view. Fixed now at just past 9 a.m. You’re a very special part of my morning and my cup of coffee that starts my day. Glad you're back!
6 a.m. Central Time: Hello all, from my wet and soggy Arkansas River Valley morning… the cool rains of fall have begun.
It appears that Corey will not be building the decking for the new sunroom this weekend unless he wants to build it in the rain… which is now predicted to keep falling until Monday morning. Won’t kill him to just sit down and relax for a weekend, so hopefully he won’t fret about it. It’s waited five years since we first talked about putting a covered patio/outdoor kitchen/sunroom in that space, so it can wait a little longer!
However, while y’all were missing in action, Corey was here on a weekday morning, although not much company, because he slept in until nearly 8 a.m. They’ve canceled or moved most of the days he was due to come in, but this morning, he’s got to show up for possible jury duty. He’s hoping, like last time, that he won’t get called for a jury and he can go straight to work from there. Rainy days where the guys aren’t working are the ones where they don’t break stuff, and give him time to get caught up on oil changes and maintenance work for equipment that’s usually out in the field.
Egg, on the other hand, is most unhappy with the rain outside. She demanded to be let out onto the carport (through the door without a kitty door in it), and just yelled to come back in that way, as well. Not fond of getting her feet wet. Or of me, at the moment. Luckily, she forgets her snit as soon as she wants a warm lap. Funny little critter.
The pottery instructor invited me to come in early today, so I plan to head in about noon. Want to stop by Goodwill and drop off the stoneware that I bought as a $29 set from Walmart. I don’t like the weight, feel, usage or the amount of room the set takes up in the cabinet, so someone will be able to buy the set minus the coffee cups, which Corey uses, and one plate that I broke. Luckily, I kept my Corelle. Corey started laughing last night when he saw it in the cabinet. Said he never knew why I got the stoneware, as he knew I hated it. Heather's inspired me to look through the box of baking stuff that I seldom if ever use, as well. Since I'm going anyway, might as well make it worth the trip...
Back to real time - I got that next layer on the painting. Might leave it here, but will probably leave it dry and then pick up a few bits I don't like, like adding in a little more veining to the leaf and blending that right hand side a little better. Corey's had his coffee and is off to the courthouse, and for now, I think I'll just get in the shower.
Later, y'all,
Much love from
Lisa, in the joyful, quiet peace of a rainy morning

1.Write down three things you can look forward to this month. 1. Another month of sobriety 2. Cooler weather 3. Decorating for Halloween24. Write down three specific things that have gone well recently. Some of my close family contacted me instead of the other way around, 2. Getting appointments with a cardiologist, and a nephrologist. 3. I am over 2 months sober!
2. Find something to be optimistic about (even if it’s a difficult time). I am optimistic about cooler weather.
3. Take a small step to a goal that really matters to you. I need to call my uncle.
4. Start the day with the most important thing on your to-do-list. Updating this list and My Fitness Pal.
5. Be a realistic optimist. See life as it is but focus on what’s good. I usually hope for the best but prepare for the worst. I think this counts!
6. Remind yourself that things can change for the better. No matter how bad you think it is, it can always get worse. So enjoy life no matter where you are, or what you are doing, or your circumstances.
7. Look for the good in people around you today. I can do this if I try. This was not difficult to do with visitors. Employees were a different matter!
8. Make some progress on a project or task you’ve been avoiding. I need to clean the cabinets out. I am planning to start today. Didn’t happen.
9. Share an important goal with someone you trust. did not do this.
10. Take time to reflect on what you have accomplished recently. I have accomplished coloring pages, making doctor appointments, calming my nerves by taking some actions I never tried before, and more.
11. Avoid blaming yourself or others. Find a helpful way forward. This is hard for me.
12. Look out for positive news and reasons to be cheerful today. With everything going on around me and in me this will be hard, but I will pay attention to good news.
13. Ask for help to overcome an obstacle you are facing. The obstacles I have cannot be solved by me, but by family members.
14. Do something constructive to improve a difficult situation. I will have to think on this. I posted pictures of the eclipse that happened here on the Friends Group FB page, and sent some pics to my son and grandson.
15. Thank yourself for achieving the things you often take for granted. I got up in a thankful mood today so I should be able to do this. The eclipse yesterday couldn’t have gone better.
16. Put down your to-list and do something fun or uplifting. I will color, walk, and meditate-all things that are fun and uplifting to me.
17. Take a small step toward a positive change you want to see in society. Teaching adults computer use provides a positive change in my community.
18. Set hopeful, but realistic goals for the days ahead. My biggest hope for the near future is a holiday without depression and ‘drama’ caused by my family.
19. Identify one of your positive qualities that will be helpful in the future. I think my tenacity will always be helpful to me and others.
20. Find joy in tackling a task you’ve put off for some time. This will have to wait as I am not feeling too good today. Fall cold.
21. Let go of the expectations of others and focus on what matters to you. I have been working on this, so this will be in progress for a while. Because I did this, my mother finally called me to see what was up after 3 weeks of missed calls from me.
22. Share a hopeful quote, picture, or video with a friend or colleague. Will do here.
23. Recognize that you have a choice of what to prioritize. I will put myself first for care so I can take care of others and my normal tasks.
25. You can’t do everything! What are three priorities right now? 1. Better financial management, 2. My eyes and cataract surgery, 3. Researching and getting my name on lists of potential places to retire to in 3-4 years.
26. Find a new prospective on a problem you face. I need to take a hard look at our budget.27. Be kind to yourself today. Remember progress takes time.
28. Ask yourself ‘will this still matter a year from now?’
29. Plan a fun or exciting activity to look forward to.
30. Identify three things that give you hope for the future.
31. Set a goal that brings a sense of purpose for the coming month.

I just picked up some Lilly's white chocolate- I have never used the brand with less sugar- It was cheap (3/$1) want to try making some of our Christmas fudge with it.
Is it any different than regular cho. when cooking with it?
Nope it melts the same, but I have never used it for fudge making. Just additives. Hope it works out. I normally buy the dark chocolate bar with sea salt. Sometimes I buy the milk chocolate bars, love them.👍🏼💖

I use an ice cream scoop to portion out the cookie dough, freeze it hard, then ziploc four at a time to be cooked later. I made the ones he baked last night in April! They're basically an oatmeal cookie on steroids, with chocolate chips added. That's why your cookie binge made me think of them. Nice of you to give up one of your Lily's bars for them! Hope your trip is just wonderful. Is this your first time to see Eli?
Sue - Honestly, hot tubs are even more "people soup" than bathtub baths! I've gotten into hot tubs that I own, but that would be because I know who's been in it, and am familiar with the cooties. At least that's "me" soup. Getting into "people soup" with strangers is way past my ability to survive the ick factor.
Allie - Sorry about Sean's issues, but pleased you enjoyed your time with Doris.
Painted, played with clay, did laundry and then painted some more. Good day.

Vince said his hand still hurts so we won’t be doing any outside work. It’s so beautiful, I wish we could get the topsoil, but Vince doesn’t think he would be able to hold a shovel to move it around. So...I refuse to sit around so I’ll go volunteer at the Green Room

Had a good laugh this morning. The dogs got us up extra early this morning so I was excited to have extra time and thought I'd take my time reading this thread and write a long thoughtful reply and LOL, the community section was down. Now I don't have the time and it's back up. I used the time to read a new thought provoking book I just got from the library so the time was well spent. I took a short nap at the computer, as well.

Thank you.
I will try a test batch and see. We like that is the lower sugar. Dh and MIL are both diabetic but still eat regular sweets. Mom has a friend who is also diabetic and likes mom to bake for him so this will be good for him too, hopefully.
Couldn't pass it up for that price.
Does it taste any different than regular?
Dh likes white choc(I don't care for it) so hope this is something he likes. May make some cookies with it to try it for him.

Scrolling through, yet again. My cousins son went home from the hospital last night. He has a long road to recovery ahead of hmm but I’m sure he’ll heal much faster at home with his girls. My cousin has been here with us and we have been going to the hospital every day and evening. I’m tired.
I have a big project and a small one due tomorrow morning and have a doctors appointment today and ceramics tonight. I just took a quick break but need to get back at it.
I’ll try to take notes starting tomorrow again.

I put everything in a Google Calendar and have it set up so that it sends notifications to me and sometimes also my husband.
- Appointments
- Regularly occurring things
- When bills are due
- Things I need to do in the house
- Things I need to do in the garden
Then I use a month whiteboard (something like the one below) and write in all the things coming up in the next month. And I make a point of showing it to my husband at a quiet time so he can look at it and comment on it.

I like the taste of Lilly's chocolate also; however, it is made with erythritol so you may want to look up the link with erythritol and blood clots.0 -

Pretty much erythritol is ok in small doses, I'm not worried about it. I have a chocolate square
a couple times a week so definitely not on a daily basis. Its cool.
