Pip - poor Kirby! Hope it's just an angry pulled muscle and he'll be good as new soon. You sure need a lot of documentation to get a driver's license. Maybe it's that way all over.

Ginny - Good luck with the foot PT. Would you mind sharing what stainless steel you ended up getting? I have several Green+life fry pans but I've noticed they are getting tiny dings - hopefully it's nothing nasty and their non-stick feature is still OK. Every now and then I think about getting new ones but decision fatigue! Corelle - YES! Mine is probably 30 years old or older.

Kylia - I've added a little "backwards walking" to my exercise snack. While I'm waiting for a skillet or pan to heat up, I can walk backwards 10 steps in my kitchen before I hit the wall. So maybe 10 or more times back and forth. I read it's good for the back and hips like you mentioned but also gives our brains and balance a challenge.

Evie - I'm amazed that teeny raspberry survived this long.

Sue - hope the septic guy fixed the problem.

I keep looking at the 10 day forecast - a week from today, snow should be falling in earnest and the high below freezing. That is, until the forecast model changes its mind. Which it does every few hours, lol. I normally use Weather Underground since I like the way their current satellite and radar shot is set up on the home page. I can see where the rain and storm is within a couple hundred yards of my house. Windy is better for some other things - easier for me to check the weather for the rest of you. Never got used to Accuweather although they are good too.

Grateful I have a week to get the chicken run beefed up and firewood situation planned. Need to make a huge grocery run mid next Wednesday and lay in milk and salad stuff for me and plenty of greens for the hens.

I'm thinking if the snow is light enough, I may be able to use the leaf blower to clear it from the tarp roof over the chicken run.

Good morning all who enter here. Well starting my 3rd day. And the day can only be as good as I want it to be. Good luck to all.

Margaret I understand the seems like no brainers! There are non-working days when I realize before bed that no tooth brushing occurred. We just need to concentrate on us.

Simone My DH may finally listen to the doctors....maybe. He did walk his 15 mins backwards last night and tonight. I told him I would also do it with him. He came in when I was almost done and told me to find my own hallway-lol!!! Good thing i was done He also stayed out of snacks today. Will I ever get him to eat more veggies? Probably not, but I will keep trying. I do plate dinner now and he rarely will get seconds.

Debbie My DH has same issues as yours health wise. He is great at walking though and hates to sit still. Prefers to walk if there is a destination though. He rarely has found a burger he won't eat. Good thing he has me.

I started this last night then promptly fell asleep. 10k steps-yay! I am sure that helped. Starting this morning at chiro with DH, then off to work. The sky is ominous this morning looking out the window. There is lots of red in the clouds. Have some running to do after work. Tomorrow DH hunts and I am meeting girlfriend for coffee. I told SIL that I might be late. Her comment was that she might not be there. In which case I can't be late. SMH. I think she was joking, but who knows. Again it is the case of her family is more important than anyone else's. I will enjoy time with C. After work tomorrow I plan on going to buy cards, list is made and go to trader Joe's. If we don't go to Kroger tonight will do that as well. Then should be home for weekend. It is my turn to host dessert night Sunday evening. Need to decide what I am serving. So this weekend will be filled with friends.

Need to get my day started, lunches packed, etc.

Hello, everyone. Introduction: I'm a 64 F with stage 3c ovarian cancer. I was diagnosed on July 6, 2022. (I'm 5'9.) I lost weight during chemo and maintenance, but I started eating all kinds of "bad" stuff and gained back 34 pounds. My last weigh-in (on Monday, January 1) told me I weighed 244 pounds exactly. I decided that it was time to get serious (again) about losing weight. My highest weight was 331, so I'm proud I've dropped 87 pounds. My goal is to get under 200 pounds. I haven't seen that number in years and years!

I'm a walking ticking time bomb. There is NO CURE for ovarian cancer at this point. Since I was diagnosed with stage 3c OC, I was told that I had "about" 5 years left to live. OC (ovarian cancer) almost always returns, especially in women my age. Right now, I'm doing pretty well. I have a PET scan on the 29th of this month, and we'll see how I'm doing inside. I feel pretty well physically. I'm a little bit depressed, but I'm hanging in there. (I'm quite a happy person normally, actually.)

I got down to 210 pounds while I was doing chemo. Not an easy way to lose weight, but I loved being so close to 200 pounds. I recently told my oncologist that I was thinking about doing intermittent fasting, but he said no to that. He wants me to keep some excess weight on so that I have more of a "pad" when I have to start chemo again.

Do you know what the most challenging part is? If you knew that you had "x" amount of years left to live, you'd want to enjoy all the yummy food you could, you know? And I did that after I was done with chemo. But I didn't particularly appreciate how I felt by eating all of that bad stuff. And I hated seeing the scale go up and up and up. So that's why I'm hoping that I can get down to under 200 pounds. I'll be satisfied that I "got there" before my time here on earth is over. (Note: When I was much, much younger I weighed about 145 pounds.)

I've started exercising, which is a REALLY big deal because I seriously HATE TO EXERCISE! I have been riding the recumbent bike (we have one at our house) for at least 15 minutes daily (today I did 18 - yay me!). It's a start. I'm eating 1,200 calories a day. I'm drinking my water. Weigh-ins will be on Mondays. Wish me luck!

Look up the symptoms of ovarian cancer. It's known as "the silent killer" for good reason. It's easy to shrug off some of the symptoms because it could easily be something else.

Enjoy life, my friends. Try to find things to be grateful for each day. Life is wonderful!

Mysoulisskinny ...Welcome to a very supportive thread. I'm so sorry to hear of your diagnosis, but I admire your attitude! No one is guaranteed "tomorrow" and your reminder to enjoy life with gratitude is perfect.

Linda ... hello! I remember you! Scale fluctuations for me are almost always too many carbs or salt. I do weigh daily though to watch the trend.

Annie ... so sorry you are sick ... our immune systems have a horrible time with stress ...

My mom is finally doing well enough that a screening is scheduled for Monday to verify that she is ready to head back to her assisted living facility. Her short-term memory is poor, so the challenge will be reminding her what she really can and can't do. She has no recollection of getting sick, falling or my feeding her for 10 days! But she has people laughing at the facility (which actually means her dry wit and sarcasm are back) so she's definitely more like herself.

My holiday weight is slowly receding since the sweet stuff is now gone. I plan to eat from the pantry for the next few weeks to use up older items. Will also start decluttering as well. Kay ... I still follow the 365 day decluttering group so you know my kitchen drawers are going to look great in a few days! A baby shower to attend tomorrow, but otherwise it should be a quiet weekend.
