After work went to the soup kitchen then WalMart. Home and helped Vince take in more of the decorations. Jess came tonight to pick up Shadow, so I ran (drove) to Food Lion to get Vince bananas (they are cheaper there than at WalMart … at least for now) and rigatoni for dinner. Thank goodness I had some ground beef in the freezer and mozzarella cheese
A guy I work with at BK used to work at the soup kitchen. He came in this afternoon and told me that the grill went down. I feel sorry for the store manager. I would guess that the store was built in the 60’s so things are breaking down. Since I’ve been there, the roof had a leak, they needed a new hot water heater, the fryer went, now the grill, this thing that I use to hold the plates for chopping the veges broke so I have to work around it. There are probably other things, too
pip – sending health vibes to Kirby
Lanette – I’ve had my Corelleware since before we were married, and in October we’ll be married 47 years. My pattern has been discontinued for quite some time
Allie – when I had a sty, it was recommended to put a warm compress on it. But what I did was take an old sock and fill it with rice and microwave that. During the winter I didn’t want to have something on me that was wet. Also, I think the rice stayed warm longer than a wet washrag YOU can’t believe sMiles is 2 already! Love all the pics of his party
Annie – healing thoughts being sent your way
mysoulis skinny – (((HUG))) How you are approaching your diagnoses is admirable
pip – I take it Kirby is back from the ER. What did they have to say?
Rite – awesome news from the kidney doc! How do you clean the stains off the outside of the Corelleware? I used baking soda on the inside of a dish, but how to get the outside? How do you do it?
Barbie – yea for Jake

Welcome and bravo @mysoulisskinny ! Love your attitude!
Pip Pulled muscles suck but glad nothing more serious. I used my passport when I got my secured DL. Saved having to find all the other paperwork. If you have one, I would check that out.
Good visit for DH at Chiro. I start going Jan 16th for me. We really like this dr. He is whole body oriented. Overall was a great day with some interesting occurances. More on that later. I did get a pay raise! I got everything accomplished that I wanted to today at work. Yay! Ate well but it is no wonder I gain weight when I don't track. I was over on calories. Decided I still needed to walk so no big deal. I had walked about 15 mins when I went to check my pulse and realized I didn't have my fitbit on. I took it off to wash dishes. So fitbit steps 7900. Walk 40 mins. Walked enough to deficit calories. Have to go to grocery tomorrow. Out of potatoes, macaroni, and rice now. DH likes his starch with dinner.
Time for bed.More after work tomorrow.

I had given them my passport card, it didn’t go through their system for some reason. I still need all the divorce, marriage and death documents especially because I have a Washington license and am trying to get a California license3 -
Simone my reading goal for last year was 12 books. I read 52!😳 This year my goal is 20 but have already finished 2 that I had started last year (lol!). I read just about anything. I belong to Prime First Reads and get 1 book a month free (sometimes more like this month) and pick books by their name and cover, so I’ve gotten mystery, romance (I don’t particularly like these- all the same really) Sci-Fi, horror (Think Stephen King), thrillers (think Koontz) biographies, almost anything! Do you belong to the Goodread app? They have book giveaways that authors do, both Kindle and Hardcover. Last year I won 3 Kindle and 1 hardcover from them. I believe it is good to read all sorts of stuff to widen my horizons! LOL Friend me on here (kevrit) with and I will tell you how to friend me and we can compete reading!
Anyone else interested in free books and a book challenge? Just PM me and we can all connect!

Yes, I do have Goodread, but I had no idea they had giveaways. I have not really been much of a reader until more recently. I was happy with myself reading the Harry Potter series after I heard the first one was being made into a movie. Of course, at that time only the first 4 were available, but after that I got the books as they came out.

Michele hope your mouth feels better.
Pip! Oh no! Hope Kirby is okay!
I am still sick as a dog with some kind of respiratory virus. But I slept a little better last night.
Today I have a meeting for the reception for my mother's funeral, then a mammogram. Coughing will interfere with the mammogram but the cough medicine will interfere with driving. Maybe a half dose.
My appetite is way down. But I have to eat so I don't get dizzy.
Well, time for another nap. Hope this one does the trick.

COVID?
It's still a reportable disease here, so we need to test and if we're positive register with Public Health ... which my husband and I did when we tested positive just recently.
I've got a telephone appointment with my doctor on Monday because my symptoms have not resolved ... and I want to exchange my annual leave days off with sick leave days off. No sense using my annual leave days when I have been sick!!

I was on Goodreads all of last year and made my goal of 24 books in their challenge, but saw nothing of free giveaways or anything like that.

Grandmallie Happy Birthday to miles! It looks like a wonderful party.
I had bloodwork done today and my glucose is in the high range, but only by a little as it was 106. I am hoping that I find out more Monday when the doctor calls me about the results. My glucose has never been above 94 in previous tests. I went to get my refills for my Levothyroxine and Lipitor that I ordered earlier this week I had a notification from FB stating that I had an event tonight. It was for a candlelight walk in a wooded area that they use for the district schools to teach students about nature. So, I went to that and got my 30 minutes of walking in. I did get hurt during the walk when I stepped on a big rock on the dirt path and slipped on it. I am fine now, but I had to sit down in the building where they have tables for teaching and learning. They also had a log cabin from the 1800s open for us to go in and see what that looked like. Normally it is closed. They even had a fire in the fireplace. Here are a couple pictures that I took while on my walk.

Heather- I don’t even have an urge sometimes and start leaking. This is new the last couple of months.
I was always told never to hold it. My daughter actually did damage to her kidneys holding it too long as a teen.
Lanette - “what hunk I find at the feed store” - I just love your outlook on life. You remind me of my MIL. That’s a huge compliment in regards to my MIL, just to be clear.
Barbie - good that Jake had a great visit. My daughter reads like you. I usually get around 18 or so, but I only read when I’m going to bed. I also reread a lot of my books so I am not in a rush to get through them. I just like visiting the characters again.
Debbie - “Tactical wees”. I’m going to use that the next time I’m out with hubby. It will give him a good laugh.
I received a message from Lauryn at 4 today asking if Michaela was confused or if I had forgotten that I had said she could come for a sleepover tonight. I had said it, last week and was hoping that she wouldn’t remember. 😂 I went and picked her up, came home had supper, she helped me bring stuff that belongs in the living room to the kitchen. She then worked on her Diamond dot, read me a bedtime story that I’ve been reading to her for years, 😞 then went to bed.
I love having her here, I just didn’t want to make the drive to pick her up. My foot is bothering me a lot today.
My payment didn’t arrive so no shopping.
Tomorrow I am going with a friend to look at a camper. It’s a private sale and she didn’t want to end up in a bad situation alone.
I think I’ll head to bed soon. I am reading the first book in Nora Roberts new trilogy and it’s calling my name. The only bad thing is I’ll have to wait until next year to get the second one.

Holding Urine Discussion ... Just some more information to add to the discussion ... while most medical professionals say it's ok to hold your urine every once in a while, doing so frequently may increase the likelihood of UTIs. And, in the event of an accident in a vehicle, a seatbelt near a full bladder can cause the bladder to rupture and flood the body cavity with urine ... a serious condition.
Yes, it is not recommended to holding on until we're really bursting. Sure, skip the first urge, but go on the next one.
Also, I've been told (and this might apply to Tina too), to avoid those pelvic floor squeezes (kegal exercises). I am not supposed to do them! My pelvic floor muscles are too strong and too tight already. They make my prolapsed bladder situation worse, and they make my suspected pudendal neuralgia situation worse. Instead I am supposed do exercises to relax my pelvic floor muscles.
Ever since I was diagnosed with a prolapsed bladder, I was referred to a pelvic physiotherapist specialist. She was very informative! I think I will go see her again and ask about the my suspected pudendal neuralgia situation.

Trying to lull myself back to sleep by watching crochet videos (don't ask)...
Egg warns us from outside the room about once an hour when there's a monster in the guest bedroom that's going to kill us all (my visiting daughter). Please note, if we let her in the bedroom, she does the same thing, but while perched on your forehead.
At midnight, after her third set of warning calls, finally got up to go potty, trying not to wake up too much, so I didn't turn on any lights.
Corey didn't realize I was up, so when he also woke, he walked into the bathroom and flipped on the light, which made me startle and scream like seaweed had touched me while wading in the ocean.
He and the accompanying cat left the bathroom at speed.
Only one of them was apologizing.
Takes a while for the adrenaline rush to subside. Finally starting to yawn an hour later.
Lordie.
Love y'all,

Up early to take DH hunting.......
Lisa I love a good laugh this early in the morning! Steve about peed on me one morning, same type situation. Now if I get up I just go to hall bath. Lol! I am sure Corey and Egg promptly went back to sleep.
@monie_is_getting_fit Great job on the walk! I never liked history in school, but love the old buildings now. I hope you are feeling okay after the fall. My glucose was 106 this bloodwork. High for me too. I see my doctor next week for my physical.
I love to read, but rarely take the time these days. I have been trying to read at least a chapter every night. I never went anywhere without a book. I have tried audible books, but have a hard time paying attention or I get so engrossed that I forget what else I am suppose to be doing.
I did this quiz thing on FB with the first 4 words you saw playing a big roll in your life this year. Connections, self-care, money, and miracles. The interesting thing is that 3 of them were already in my goals for this year! Reaching out to a friend or family weekly and sending cards for birthdays=connections. Learning that my health is priority=self care. Actively investing in savings=money. The raise didn't hurt this either. It is hard to goal miracles, but will keep my eye out. If my DYD and her DH get their act together and actually get their house into their name then I will get paid back monies loaned and it will be a miracle!
Excited to be meeting C for coffee this morning. Steve said we didn't have to leave as early this morning as normally. I told him yes we did as I have plans at 7 am! Persevering to make this happen!
They are calling for snow today here 1/2-1 in. My head is feeling the pressure, but just dull to let me know it is there. I have things to do so won't let it stop me. Need to figure out a healthier option for dessert tomorrow evening. C texted me last night after I went to bed to confirm meetup this morning, yay!
Have a great day!
Hugs!
Welcomes!

Guess my coffee meeting is postponed. She has been up all night with stomach issues. Meeting next Saturday instead. Disappointed, but understand.
Guess I will be at work early and do some training online.

Another early riser here. After 4 good hours of sleep, I woke up to go "wee" and couldn't get back to sleep. So I got up and turned on this HP laptop which told me it couldn't load my user profile. Tried rebooting, whistling, burning sage but it was stubborn. It pulled this last week but recovered after I did reboot. Didn't work this time.
Called Staples tech support. He remoted in and couldn't find it. Said it was gone. I doubt it but he wasn't able to access it. Contemplated holding off and taking it to Staples this morning, then decided to just reload Chrome browser and start from scratch.
Luckily I did a fairly complete backup on 12-31, the only thing lost is a zillion bookmarks which needed to be weeded out anyhow, and a few updates to my budget spreadsheet which I can reconstruct with my Visa bill.
This HP will be three years old in a couple months, getting a newer one was on my shopping list anyhow depending on what kind of tax refund I get.
When I checked the weather forecast last night, it predicted a big rain then massive snow here middle of next week on through the weekend. Oh, and pretty cold.
I'm grateful for the forecast - will get more firewood brought in. We might have a power outage for a while with the weight of the snow on the evergreens in this county. Hope not, but I'm prepared.
Later-

It’s hard to believe that 2023 is over. I hope that everyone is ready to proceed into 2024 with renewed vigour.
I feel that I accomplished much in 2023. I set some new habits, and worked on consolidating others that have helped me so much in being authentic to my core beliefs. These Solid Habits are integral to my primary goal of staying as fit and healthy as I can.
Knowledge is power! Therefore, tracking and reviewing progress will continue to provide the data I need to continue to move forward into 2024.
I lost a friend on 23 Dec, and one of my much younger cousins passed away on Thursday, so I am only too aware of the impermanence of life, and of making the most of each moment we are granted. Carpe diem!
