Morning Ladies,
DH didn't get home until way to late to do a workout yesterday. He will be getting his car put on the frame today, so he is very excited. Left early this morning to help with this part of the process. This morning I did another Yin Yoga routine. Felt great of course.
Laurel, All those workouts sound great! I'm so glad that you are feeling the benefits of these workouts. I know that adding in my early morning stretching/pilates really helps my body move a lot better during the day. My spring cleaning will probably be delayed until June when I have more time. 😁 I'm starting my list of things that need to get done. I should be a busy girl for a while.
Thelma, Awesome job with all the workouts! Dang on your post, but glad to hear that you had a nice weekend.
Have a great day!

Hi Ladies! Today’s workout was a 60 minute spin followed by Cathe Live Core Flow, which felt great. I also just got back from a walk. Some shrubs and trees are beginning to bud or flower. That makes me so happy to see.
Thelma, great workouts. I am sorry you lost a post. What a pain. I find my spring cleaning ends up being year round cleaning because I never get it all done in the spring. Oh well. At least I keep doing something, and that’s a good thing.
Laurie, great workout. I would definitely push off the spring cleaning until you are retired, especially since you have a new grandbaby to prepare for. I have been having a philosophical discussion with myself lately about what I am trying to achieve with my workouts. I think I am becoming less interested in progress and more interested in enjoyment. If I didn’t enjoy some tough workouts, that might be a problem. Maybe all of this is because I have just come through a tough, regimented and long rotation, but I am wondering if that was my last tough, regimented and long rotation. If it is, at least I ended with a good one. 🙂
See you tomorrow.

Hi Ladies! My workouts on Tuesday were walking and Tracy Steen Abs.
DH might be retiring next month due to another trip to Boston just for a Sr staff meeting. Who knows if his boss will want to force him to go. His former boss never made him go to those meetings.
There's a controlled burn going on in TN on a 75-acre area. We are getting lots of blow in smoke all over northwest and central GA. The entire mountain range seems to be covered in smoke.
This is what the sky looked like on Monday.
We are expecting to get hit with a big storm over the weekend. The weather people have been calling it a monster storm. There will be a cold front first then the storm, which could bring damaging winds and rain.
Laurie, great workout!
Have you told your coworkers you'll be retiring in May yet?
Laurel, great workouts!
I think out of the three of us Laurie arrived to the working out for health and fun phase first. I think the STS 2.0 rotation took me there and also the discovery of trainers such as Tracy Steen and Caroline Girvan. I like the variety of workouts they offer, and I can choose the intensity depending on how I feel. I am doing the Iron rotation, but I am not following it religiously.
It sure is good to see things starting to bud.
I agree that spring cleaning is all year round. I think there's regular cleaning and deep cleaning.
See you tomorrow!

Morning Ladies,
DH again was late getting home. His Toronado is now on the chassis, he is very happy. So this morning I was going down the stairs, and my foot slipped on the last few steps. I hit my side pretty hard. Don't have any broken ribs, because I can breath and move just fine. But talk about sore, so no workout this morning. We will see how I feel when I get home, it may just be stretching for me. DH said that I can sit downstairs while he works out, just for encouragement. Maybe that will be what I do. 😀
Laurel, Great job on the workouts! Oh the first signs of spring, that's always a nice thing to see. So far doing workouts that my body is happy with has made me happy. I like that Thelma isn't doing the rotation as "I must do this workout today". When we don't get a workout in, I have to remind myself that it's okay. I'm still active during the day, but I do realize that I still need to be active when I'm not here at work given all the walking around that I do. It will be a process.
Thelma, Love the workouts! I have to say despite the smoke, your view is awesome! 😉 Sounds like your DH was in the same situation as mine was toward the end. His retirement was somewhat about his boss. The thing that DH was constantly saying before his retirement "not my circus, not my monkey's" DH has been retired for almost three years, they still haven't hired anyone to fill his position. 🙄
Have a great day!

Hi Ladies! Today’s workout was Cathe Live Butts and Guts 2, Shock Cardio HiiT 30/30 and the Extended Chair Stretch from Step Boss. The Live workout was nothing like the Butts and Guts DVD. Thankfully it was much shorter but the Guts part of it was surprisingly challenging. I am hoping I remember to do this one again sometime because I really liked it.
Thelma, great workouts. Yikes on the smoke though. I’m sorry your DH is having work issues. But it sounds like he is ready to retire when he needs to, so that is good. I suppose it makes sense the order in which each of us is hitting that ‘do I really need to push so hard’ phase in our fitness lives given our ages. There must be something about turning 60 (which I will be doing soon) that changes perspective. And, honestly, I am thankful for it! We are headed into a scary day on Saturday as well weather-wise. I will start paying more attention to it tomorrow when they have a better read because, so far, I have only heard there is a threat and that’s it.
Laurie, yikes on slipping on the stairs! I am glad you feel like you didn’t break anything, but I also think it is wise to not push it today. When I stopped working, I was really afraid that I was going to turn into a blob because of all of the activity associated with working. But it ended up that I am far more active not working than I ever was working. You will probably find the same. I love your DH wants you to cheer him on through a workout. I am also glad he is making progress with his car. I can’t believe he has been retired for three years! Time is just flying. DH and I were talking about that last night. We have some neighbors who put their house up for sale and I was surprised because, to me, they just moved in. DH thinks they have been there at least three years. He’s probably right. ☺️
See you tomorrow.

Hi Ladies! Wednesday's workouts were walking and CG Iron Day 11 - Triceps and Back. CG kills the triceps with a dumbbell series, then moves on to dips. My triceps were fried, and I just couldn't do the dips! I didn't feel that my exhausted triceps could support me, so I did some kickbacks and resistance cable pulldowns.
Laurie, I had no idea what a Toronado looked like, so I looked it up. I love it! That's a cool dude car! LOL.
OMG! I'm so sorry you fell down the stairs. Thank God you didn't break anything. I hope you kept your DH company during his workout!I'm trying to lift weights 3-4 times a week. 5 strength training days is way too much for me. I'm doing yoga 4 times a week. Two of those classes are power yoga. On Fridays I do yoga followed by a killer Barre sculpting class. I also do my indoor walking every day.
Thank you on the view. We are blessed to have that beautiful view. DH's retirement is about his boss. She is a pain! I still hope she wants him to work part-time for a little while. He says he'd do it for 6 months.
Laurel, great workouts!
The smoke continued this afternoon, but it's not as bad as it was two days ago.
DH would've worked at least two more years if it weren't for his boss. I cringe every time I hear her on the phone. He is ready to retire because of her, but he does like his job.
I feel that I'm still pushing myself pretty hard still, but in a different way. Yoga was something that I wanted to do when I retired. The yoga I do now is definitely power yoga. The new Gentle Flow instructor is not so gentle. She can be pretty challenging. I spread my workouts throughout the day. In the morning, I do yoga, in the late afternoon I lift and after dinner I walk. I am listening to my body more. Sometimes I'm too tired to lift weights, so I may choose to take a day off or do something lighter. I am definitely WAAAAY more active than I was when I was working.Definitely pay attention to the weekend's weather because it looks like you guys are in the level 3 risk zone.
See you tomorrow!

Morning Ladies,
Had a good nights sleep. I was able to sleep on my side, but not on my back. This morning was very hard to get up. It took me a while. I'm only feeling my side when I move a certain way. I'm taking OTC meds, and those seem to be helping. Overall I'm feeling good, but I know that I will not be working out because I can't lift weights on my left side. Hoping to do some stretching at some point this weekend. DH didn't want to work out, so I know that if I'm not doing the workout with him, he will not do it. 😉
Laurel, Nice job with the workouts! Does the live give you the option of tagging workouts that you like? I'm looking forward to not rushing my breakfast, or needing to have my lunch ready for the next day. Kind of lame, but sometimes that can really be stressful. 😃 Of course the other thing is not having to do my workouts after 4 am or pm. 😂 We will have a set time, but it will be sometime in the morning. I can't believe that DH has been retired for that long either. He had to sign up for Medicare this year. 😲
Thelma, Great job with the workouts! Just hearing cable pulls made my back cringe. That's the area my back hit the step. I like the sound of your weekly workout routine. I for sure am going to be getting in more yoga. It will be Gentle, not like your instructors gentle though. 😁 That would be really great if your DH is able to do part time in that timeframe. I still have not ruled out working part time for like a fabric store. We will see how much DH starts to bother me. One of my friends from church says that her DH hovers to much since they retired.
Have a great day!

Hi ladies, it looks like this storm is going to hit a good part of the country.
This is a good weather guy to follow.

Hi Ladies! Today’s workout was Cathe Live Burn and Build Upper Body, Cathe Live Cardio Combat and quad focused yoga from Peloton. The hardest workout in this set was the yoga workout. 😅 It was with an instructor I don’t choose very often, and whenever I do, I am reminded why. My skill level in yoga just isn’t where she teaches. But I do what I can and it is still a good workout.
Thelma, great workouts. I would probably benefit from dispersing my workouts throughout the day as well. I used to take breaks between my workouts, but I stopped doing that during COVID because DH was home, and I wanted to get my workouts in so we could take a walk during his lunch hour. And I just haven’t shifted my schedule back. Thanks for reminding me that I don’t really have to do everything at once. Unfortunately I couldn’t get the link to work on the weather forecast you posted. But I watched a long forecast on YouTube this morning from a forecaster here is Alabama, and Saturday looks like it is not going to be a good day. And the southern parts of Alabama and Mississippi look really bad. This guy was like ‘I don’t want to be alarmist, but I am telling you in my calm voice to prepare and make sure everybody you know is prepared because this is not good.’ I think this is one of the highest alert levels we have had since we moved here. Kinda scary. I hope you stay safe.
Laurie, I am glad you are still doing okay and the painkillers are helping. I think it is wise to take it easy for awhile. Cathe Live does let you save your favorites, but it is limited to just a few workouts, and this one wouldn’t be in my top five. I also write down all of my workouts, and I have a calendar specifically for workouts I love. But I am so lazy at planning my workouts that I don’t always take the time to leaf back through a calendar to see what I liked. I have a tendency to just go with whatever pops into my brain if I am not tied to a rotation….or looking for something new on Cathe Live. When I stopped working, Sunday became a whole new day for me. I used to do all my clothing prep on Sundays, which meant ironing blouses and slacks and whatnot. And then I would make sure I had everything ready for meals for the week. And I remember thinking when I stopped working that Sunday became a weekend day again and not just pre-Monday.
DH is taking tomorrow off (I hope) so I probably won’t be here. So enjoy the weekend, and, again Thelma, stay safe over there.

Hi Ladies! We had a thunderstorm system in the are are during the afternoon, which produced heavy rain and hail. The rain lasted for about one hour. It was good soaking rain!
My workouts were walking and yoga.
Laurie, I'm sorry you are feeling the injuries from that fall. Good idea to stretch and take pain meds.
Sorry your DH didn’t want to workoit without you, that happens a lot with people who hae workout partners.
This male yoga instructor for men showed up on my FB feed. He seems pretty good. I thought he might be good for your DH.
I think you would love working p/t at a fabric store a lot! LOL
I have a friend who's DH also hovers. He drives her nuts! DH won't be one of those. He's has his hobies in pickleball and computer games. He also plzns to start hiking.
Laurel, great workoits!
I think dispersing my workouts throughout the day allows me to recover/recharge between workouts. I'd forgotten you'd started doing your workouts in the morning so you could go on lunch wzlks with yoir DH!
Sorry the link didn't work for you! I hope the storm isn't as bad as predicted.
My potted hydrangeas all of a sudden are full of life! They are currently in the garage. I saw some green leaves at the base of my big hydrangea bush too.
I am so glad your DH is going to be home this weekend! I hope we'll all be safe.
Have a great weekend!

Morning Ladies,
Movement is a lot better this morning. Not saying that I don't feel the back, but I can tell it's getting better.
Laurel, Awesome workouts! That's funny about the yoga, glad that you where able to adjust for your level. Makes total sense on the workouts that you like. It's to bad that there is a limit. I hear you on not going back and looking at previous rotations and seeing the workouts that you really liked. That is one thing that I enjoy about youtube. It lets you hit that like button, and all your likes are listed. Of course most of my liked video's are quilting related, so any workout are mixed into all that. 😀 One fabulous thing about my job is that I wear jeans to work, so my clothing is far down on the list of things to think about. I do remember when I had a job that I didn't get dirty, and of course having that nice shirt all wrinkled was something that you didn't want to deal with in the morning's. Enjoy your weekend!
Thelma, Good workouts! They are saying rain for tonight and high winds tomorrow. I don't think that we are going to be getting anything like the south, so stay safe. Thanks for the yoga information, I had a little giggle at the title though. 😉 My DH will not hover either. He will be in his garage for the most part.
Have a great weekend and stay safe!

Hi Ladies! What a weekend! We are thankful the storm didn't hit us hard. We had thunderstorms, wind and some rain, but no tornados. We were under tornado warning from 8PM Saturday night till 2AM Sunday morning.
I spent the entire night watching the weather guy I posted a link for last week. He goes by Max Velocity. He is an amazing weather geek. He followed the storm without sleep from Friday night till sometime Sunday morning. I couldn't believe the level of detail he was providing us. He'd tell us highway, road and business names the tornado was going to hit or where it was approaching from.
I watched in horror as the storm dropped tornadoes all over AL every few miles.Laurel, I hope you, your DH and your home are safe. I prayed for the people of AL and us all night long.
Sunday morning was very windy, the afternoon was calm, but Sunday night is very windy. Thankfully there was no damage to our property, and we didn't lose power. There were 10K people without power in the region.
Our dryer decided to stop producing heat on Friday night as I was trying to do our laundry before the storm in case we lost power. I washed our flannel sheets on Friday night and put them in the dryer to dry and went upstairs and forgot about them. On Saturday morning I washed towels and when I went to get the sheets out of the dryer, they were cold! I thought I'd forgotten to start the machine, so I got it going. When I went to get the sheets out of the dryer, they were still cold. Now I have flannel sheets and towels to dry! We had to hang everything all around the stair railings and on chairs!
I looks like it is something DH will be able to fix once the part gets here.My workouts on Friday were walking, yoga and Barre Sculpting.
Saturday - Walking.
Sunday - walking x2 and CG Iron Day 13 - Posterior Chain.Laurie, I'm glad you are recovering from that fall. I hope you feel a lot better now.
I've been watching some of Chalene's podcasts and I'm finding her very educational and inspiring. I hope she finds the fountain of youth for all of us! LOL
Have a great week!

Morning Ladies,
This bruised rib is going to take a while. I really don't feel anything horrible during the day, but when I try to lay down at night…. ouch! It takes a bit to find a comfortable position. So with that I'm not going to be exercising for a bit. It can take a minimum of two weeks for this to feel better. I really didn't do to much on Saturday but doing some embroidery. On Sunday we went to my brothers house after church. My mom came down for a choir concert that my niece was in. After that we went out for brunch, and then I did some sewing. The only exciting thing that really happened was some unexpected snow on Sunday morning. It was coming down wet and heavy, so really sloppy to drive in.
Thelma, Great job on the workouts! I'm hoping that at some point I can at least get to walking again. Sometimes while walking I get the nasty twinges, and have to stop. For the most part I only feel it when I laugh or try to cough. So glad to hear that you are both safe. Dang on the dryer, hope that your DH is able to repair it. We usually have some of my blouses hanging around the house drying, but never sheets and towels. 😀 Chalene does have some interesting things that she talks about.
Laurel, I hope all is well in your area!
Happy St. Patrick's Day☘️!

Hi Ladies! I hope you enjoyed the weekend. Ours was good considering the storms. We got hit pretty hard starting at 4am Saturday morning. That storm lasted about four hours. Then the main storm hit about 3pm on Saturday and lasted about five hours. But we got so lucky. At one point we were surrounded on all sides by tornado activity, and yet is was surprisingly benign at our house. We had no hail, no damage and had power throughout. Given the devastation those storms produced, I have no idea how we escaped them, but I am so glad we did.
For workouts, on Friday I did a 45 minute spin and Cathe’s live class from last week which was CORE-iffic. On Saturday I did a walk with Jessica Smith followed by Kari Anderson’s Angles, Lines and Curves. Yesterday was Flex Train and the cardio premix from Low Impact Circuit. And today was a 45 minute spin and the core and extended stretch from Perfect 30.
Thelma, great workouts. I am so glad you came through the storms without damage as well. We did a fair bit of weather watching on Saturday as well. I have to admit, I was exhausted when the day was over. Every fifteen minutes for the duration of both of the storms we were getting weather warning after weather warning. It was crazy.
Laurie, I am sorry that rib is giving you so many problems still. But that is one thing you will want to make sure gets healed up before going back to workouts. Sounds like a nice weekend, though……except for the surprise snow storm. Those are always so messy this time of year.
See you tomorrow.

Hi Ladies! Monday's workouts were walking, power yoga and CG Iron Day 15 - Full Body.
Laurie, good idea to stop working out while your body heals. I'm sorry it is so painful when you lay down at night. Hopefully, you'll be able to take short walks soon.
Chalene is a little bit obssessed with staying young and living longer. I don't see anything wrong with that.
Laurel, I am so happy you, your DH and your home are OK! Did your neighbors suffer any damage? I think you felt exhausted after the storms because you were emotionally drained.
Great workouts!
See you tomorrow!

Morning Ladies,
I think that I will be able to take a walk tonight when I get home. I did sneeze last night, and that was something that I don't want to do again. 😀 Right now it has that same feeling as a tense muscle, and getting out of bed this morning was not as painful.
Laurel, I'm so glad to hear that you didn't suffer any damage, but sure does sound like a scary time waiting for everything to pass. Great job with the workouts! I see you did one of your favorite Kari workouts. The only good thing about those type of winter storms, the snow is almost gone with the warmer temps in the mornings. Of course they are saying snow tomorrow also.
Thelma, Nice job on those workouts! I finally figured out last night that I needed a small pillow for my back when laying down. I really don't have pillows that are small, not something that I do with my decorating. The girls did leave some small stuffed animals, and a couple of them turned into a pillow. I'm going to be keeping these things, they where on my going out the door pile.
Have a great day!

Hi Ladies! Today’s workout was LITE Stacked Sets Lower Body and Abs 1, the cardio only premix from Fit/Split Mixed Impact Cardio and 20 minute of Peloton yoga focused on hips. That felt good.
Thelma, great workouts. I haven’t seen any signs of damage around us at all. The storm really did skirt around all of Huntsville, which was so fortunate. There was a long track tornado they were tracing that just disappeared about 15 miles directly south of where we live. Both DH and I thought for sure we were going to see that and even the weather people were taken by surprise when it just disappeared. They were like ‘where did the storm go?’
Laurie, I am glad you are feeling a little better and the stuffed toys proved helpful. You never know when you are going to need a teddy bear. 🧸 Yes, I snuck in a Kari Anderson workout. It has been years since I did that workout, and it really felt good on Saturday. I hope you are able to get out for a walk tonight.
See you tomorrow.

Hi Ladies! Tuesday's workouts were walking and Yin.
I've been struggling with digestive issues lately and feeling like I hate food and today was just my worst day, which made me realize it's my silent GERD (no burning). I think my med has stopped working. I finally called my GI doctor's office to set up an appointment. My doctor can't see me till June, but his nurse practitioner can see me Wednesday morning. If I need any procedure like an endoscopy or colonoscopy, she would order it for me.Laurie, I am so glad you found a way to make yourself comfortable at night. Are you able to gently massage the area? Maybe with a little body lotion or one of those menthol type gels?
Laurel, great workouts!
I am so glad your neighborhood was protected from those tornadoes. Amazing how that tornado disappeared!
See you tomorrow!

Morning Ladies,
We got in a short walk yesterday, and it felt really good. Improving every day in the back, this morning there was no pain getting out of bed just a soreness.
Rocket is now walking around with a cone of shame on. He had an infected anal gland. Usually when we are both home, we take the cone off and make sure he doesn't lick. The one thing the dog doesn't like is medication, and he will not take them. It takes both of us to get those antibiotics down his throat. We are both wondering if he will be turned off of peanut butter when this is all done. 😀
Laurel, Great combo of workouts! Crazy how those storms work sometimes. LOL about the teddy bear. I may keep that thing, because I don't think that I moved all night and I slept great. We are going to be getting more snow tonight, but not much. Most of the snow will be in the central part of the state.
Thelma, Good job with the workouts! Dang on your digestive issues, but nice to hear that nurse can see you. Hopefully you don't need to go through any procedures. I do massage the injured area as much as it will let me. I have been bracing that area when I need to sneeze or cough. I found that really helps lessen the pain. I will have to try that menthol lotion, we do have some at home, just never entered my mind to try it.
Have a great day!

Hi Ladies! Today’s workout was LITE Stacked Sets Upper Body, LITE Core 2 and a 45 minute spin. That upper body workout is fairly brutal with the right weight. But I loved it.
Thelma, great workouts. I am sorry you haven’t been feeling well, but very glad you don’t have to wait until June to be seen. Hopefully a change in medication is all that is required to help you start feeling better.
Laurie, I am so glad you were able to take a walk yesterday and you continue to improve. I am sorry Rocket is in the cone of shame. Poor pup, but I hope he feels better soon. I don’t know if Rocket is like me, but I would still love peanut butter even if it was being used to mask medicine I didn’t want to take. 😋
See you tomorrow.

Hi Ladies! I had my GI appointment and based on what I told the nurse; she is sending me for a colonoscopy and endoscopy. I might as well get both procedures done at once. It's been six years since I had an endoscopy and three since I had a colonoscopy. Not fun procedures, but I need to know what's going on with my gut.
My workouts on Wednesday were walking and CG Iron Day 15 - Shoulders.
It's really windy here tonight and the fire danger is high. I am freaking out! Nothing scares me more than these forest fires. Someone in another county saw a power company bucket thing hit a low power line and sparks flew everywhere setting the ground on fire as they landed. The fire spread quickly within minutes.
Laurie, I am so glad you're feeling better and that you were able to go for a short walk!
Poor Rocket! Gigi our female dog is on antibiotics now, We just hide the pill in food and she eats it. I also give her a supplement capsule hidden in a piece of green bean. Talk about green pockets! LOL. Our vet uses some of that nasty canned cheese stuff to distract the pets from oral or needle injections. You could use that to hide the pill in it. She had the Great Value can, which I believe it's Walmart's. It's called American Cheese Wow!I grew up using those cold mentholated creams for aches and pains. They really work. We used to use Tiger Balm. Powerful stuff.
Laurel, great workouts!
I won't have to wait to see the doctor till June. Thankfully the nurse practitioners can order the tests. The doctor will tell me about his findings after the procedure, then I will see the nurse two weeks later for whatever course of action needs to be taken.
See you tomorrow!

Morning Ladies,
I had a busy day yesterday. Our team went to a local distillery and we had lunch and a tour. I didn't stay for the taste testing, because I had a hair appointment. After that appointment with dd we went out to dinner with her and her boy friend. This is the first time that I have met him. I'm on a wait and see, because at one point dd broke up with him. 😉 He was very personable, and dd said that he has been different since they got back together. He is still in his 20's and probably has some maturing to do. Their break up probably gave him something to think about. So no walking yesterday, but I think that we will head out today. Rocket probably would like another walk too.
Laurel, Love the workouts! I have always liked those stacked set workouts. Nice that you got such a good workout in using the right weights. I'm sure that he will continue to enjoy his peanut butter. We usually use that as a treat for him. The minute we open the jar, he is running to the kitchen. Today DH opened it and he headed in the other direction. 😁
Thelma, Good workouts! Those procedures are not fun, but to ease your mind and get the correct medication for you it is worth it. Don't blame you one bit for being concerned about the fires. Thanks for the information on the cheese, we will have to try that out. This dog is so good at detecting medication, makes one wonder if he should have been a drug sniffer. 😂
Have a great day!

Hi Ladies! Today’s workout was Cathe Live Jabs and Kicks and 30 minutes of Peloton Pilates. It has been a while since I have done Pilates with Peloton and it felt good today.
Thelma, great workouts. I am sorry you are going to have to go through those procedures, but at least you will get some answers that will hopefully lead to you feeling better. We are windy as well and so very dry. I don’t blame you for a minute being concerned about fires. Hopefully the winds will calm and we will get some more moisture soon.
Laurie, sounds like a busy day. I am glad you met your DDs boyfriend. She seems to be a very smart young woman and that has to give you some comfort that she will choose wisely when it comes to men. It does seem to be taking young men most of their 20s to mature these days. My niece’s fiancée is an example. He’s a nice young man but at nearly 25 he just hasn’t convinced himself quite yet that he needs a full-time job. His mom spoiling him does not help. Hope you get a nice walk in.
See you tomorrow.

Hi Ladies! Thursday's workouts were power yoga and walking.
I forgot to tell you the other day that DH fixed our dryer! The issue was the heating coil.
The wind has been relentless tonight. It's been worse than last night. Scary!
We actually got a little bit of rain on Wednesday night and tonight we got a few snowflakes!I started eating a Greek yogurt first thing in the morning on Wednesday. My stomach responded well and I've had two pretty normal stomach days. Now I'm more convinced that the issue I'm having is that my med isn't working anymore.
Laurie, how cool that your team went to a distillery for lunch and a tour!
I love that you got to meet your DD's boyfriend. I'm glad she sees a positive change in him since their breakup.
The GI procedures aren't fun but are extremely necessary. At least I was prescribed Miralax to prep for the procedure. My friend had a colonoscopy yesterday and she was given something really nasty.
DH has decided to give his notice on Monday to give his boss a chance to prepare for his absence as of 7/1 by hiring someone else or creating a p/t position for DH. He will offer her (again) the opportunity to work p/t for six months.
Rocket the drug sniffer! LOL. Gigi is so food driven that she eats the capsules out of my hand sometimes. The cut green beans do make nice capsule pockets for her.
Laurel, great workouts! I'm glad the Pilates class felt good!
I am not saying I'm looking forward to the GI procedures, but I am looking forward to finding out what's wrong with my gut.
You must be getting excited about your upcoming vacation. If I remember correctly, you said it would be in April.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Thelma0 -
Morning Ladies,
I think that I should be able to do some type of workout next week. We will see how this weekend goes, it may not be anything twisty though. I don't think that the ribs can handle twists like doing boxing for instance. Maybe some simple lower body work. We did get in a walk yesterday, and Rocket was a very happy. He hasn't been able to go to doggy daycare, so he has energy. Last night he was doing zoomies. 😀
Laurel, Nice job on the workouts! Glad that you really enjoyed the pilates. I could probably do a lower body pilates, I always enjoy those type of workouts. Don't know how DH would feel about those. DD's boyfriend told us that he had an interview at a major hospital in our area for a job for x-ray tech. That to me was a positive also.
Thelma, First of all DH says a big THANK YOU for the cheese wow! It worked like a charm, but of course DH had to put the cheese/pill on a cracker. 😂🤣 Rocket scarfed those tables down without any problems. Love the workouts! Glad to hear that you got some relief by eating the yogurt. Very very glad to hear that you where able to do the Miralax option. With mine the only option I was given was the super nasty liquid. The previous time I had the option that you are doing, and I thought it was much easier to deal with. Hope all goes well for your DH on Monday!
Have a great weekend!

Hi Ladies! I started today’s workout with a 20 minute spin then did Cathe’s live workout from yesterday which was Warrior Workout. This was a great workout from Cathe. It blended cardio and weights with most of the weight work being compound moves. It was one of those workout where I felt like it gave me energy instead of draining me of energy. So good. And she seems to be healing nicely though she admitted to still having balance issues. I think three months post-knee replacement, that is a pretty good place to be.
Thelma, great workouts. I am glad the yogurt is helping your tummy. Congratulations to your DH on getting his retirement paperwork in next week. I hope it is approved and they give him that six months of part-time transition. We are looking forward to our vacation. DH’s workplace had been in a lot of turmoil with all of the government stuff going on, so we shortened it but should still be able to go. 🤞
Laurie, glad to hear you are doing better and think you will be able to get back to some form of workout next week. Sounds like you found a good solution for Rocket and meds thanks to Thelma! That’s good news. Sounds like he is excited to be out for walks again as well. I talked to my sister yesterday, and we talked a bit about my niece and her fiancée. My sister really thinks it would be better for them to take more time before they got married to figure out things like jobs, but they will both be 25 when they get married, so there is nothing she can do but support her daughter. I am glad your DDs boyfriend is taking positive steps for sure.
Enjoy the weekend.

Hi Ladies, I hope you had a nice weekend. We had a super busy weekend, but it was good and very productive.
There were two brush fires reported in our county over the weekend. Thankfully they were mopped out.
We are getting a little rain on Sunday night. My workouts on Friday were walking, yoga and Barre Sculpting. The Barre class was packed on Friday. About 10 college students were spending the weekend in BR and attended the class. They did it all, but they were about to drop dead. LOL. It felt good knowing that I was kicking their behinds in class.
Saturday - walking.
Sunday - walking and CG Iron Day 16 - Hamstrings. My stomach is back to normal since I started eating yogurt first thing in the morning! Amazing!
Laurie, I'm glad you were about to go for a walk. I hope you're feeling better.
I am so happy Rocket liked that canned cheese stuff!
Laurel, great workouts! I'm glad Cathe's knee has
I'm sorry you're having to cut your vacation short due to your DHs job.
See you tomorrow!

Morning Ladies,
We had a nice weekend, not weather wise of course. Very windy around here, and of course cold. Was able to get some sewing done, walking and a little bit of reading. I did some Yin Yoga this morning, and only experienced a little discomfort on my left side when doing a stretch.
Laurel, Great job with the workouts! Of course that live workout sounds great. Cathe of course is doing great with that knee replacement, and to have some imbalance is expected. Overall she is awesome. I think Rocket will be happy to just be going to daycare again to be honest. He was expecting to go this morning with the way he was following me around. I can wait for a long time before my youngest dd tells me she is going to get married. 😀
Thelma, Love all the workouts! LOL about kicking the students behinds. Glad to hear that the fires where mopped up quickly. Glad to hear that the yogurt is working so well for your stomach. I usually alternate between yogurt and eggs for my morning meal. It still amazes me how well Rocket is taking to the cheese.
Have a great day!

Hi Ladies! I hope you enjoyed the weekend. Ours was good. Saturday we spent a good deal of time cleaning out the garden areas. It felt so good to be get areas cleaned up and ready for whatever planting we are going to do. Yesterday was a blend of indoor and outdoor chores. Both were beautiful day but yesterday go t blustery and we had some serious storms over night. But no tornadoes so all is good.
For workouts, on Saturday I did 60 minutes of Peloton yoga. Yesterday was Fit/Split Boxing Bootcamp, Legs and Core. Today was 4DS Higher Intensity Step with Chest and Back and the STS 2.0 Basic Stretch.
Thelma, great workouts. We had a fire near here on Saturday as well. Very concerning this time of year with all of the lightening storms. I am glad you are feeling better!
Laurie, yay for being able to do yoga! I am glad it was mostly comfortable. It sounds like Rocket is missing his playmates at the doggy day care. 🙂
See you tomorrow.
