G'day, all!
Maureen, don't have the stamina anymore. That's quite a accomplishment! You've earned a rest.
Lana, good blood pressure.....YAY! WTG!
Sara-Jane your doggies and garden are beautiful!
Hey, to everyone else!
I got the aquarium cleaned out yesterday and I rearranged some things. Looks good for my snail....he was very patient sitting in a cup until his home was ready.
Phillies game tonight, but storms are expected, which could also affect the post game fireworks. I am prepared either way. Dinner will be a hoagie, so the weight may be up a bit tomorrow.
Gotta get a shower....TTFN,
Sandy

Happy Canada Day to any fellow Canadians!
I went for a run this morning once I got up. Only I timed it wrong for when the local parade was so I had to change up my route. This afternoon I got my flower beds weeded. They needed it! The flowers are doing good though. (I am doing better this year at remembering to water them.) Tonight I am going to my brothers for our traditional BBQ hotdogs and smores. I am making sure I save room in my calories for the smores.
The scales have been climbing back up. My fault. I've been binge eating and not recording it. Ice cream is high in calories. I need to watch how much of it I eat. I currently have none in my freezer. Which is a good thing. I won't stop eating it if I had any.

Lana - I got caught in a downpour. Thankfully I had thought to grab my jacket at the last minute.
I ate to much yesterday. I went to my brothers for a Canada Day bonfire and BBQ. My 15 year old nephew was on the BBQ. I had to have a hot dog (over the bonfire) and a hamburger and of course smores.

Hey, all. A belated Happy Canada day! I love running in the rain, and today I got to walk in a very soft, gentle rain. I generally don't like walking in the rain but this was perfect. I didn't get too tired either. Not quite as warm and not quite as hilly. Not sure why some days are so darn hard!
Anyway, I'm trudging along, sticking to my calorie allotment. I'm craving a special coffee but IDK if I want to "spend" 170 calories :) My walk gave me almost that many extra, so it might be a fair trade. Of course it would mean getting up and going to the store, and I've managed to go nowhere except for my hiking spot for a week now. I'm such a hermit. And I love it.
TTFN.

Good evening,
Lets start this again, do not know what I hit key wise but it all went away.
Step mother screwed up my plans and my day with my sister that I was promised I got to spend with my sister, father and step mother with father reading the paper the whole time. Sister got to meet gentleman friend briefly.
Fiscal year is over and there is little about my work to complain about - celebrate as you wish.
Man from apt office has lost 50 pounds since New Years. Glad for him, but my 8 pounds seemed so puny - but it is still 8 pounds.
Welcome to the new posters - I am trying to be more disciplined posting.
Wishing all a good night. Stay safe and sane out there.

Good morning everyone ~
Sara - 8 pounds is wonderful. We cannot compare ourselves to other people, especially to men, who have far more muscle mass to burn up the calories every day. What a drag that your family time did not go as planned. Glad to hear that the fiscal year is over. Stay out of the way of the dragons 🐉
I've got to get going. A little too much to do today.
Waving to Ang and Maureen and Sandy and Missy and anyone who stops by later on~

I am craving ice cream. I need to find a low calorie yummy option to satisfy me.
Yesterday I was doing OK on my calories. The pizza fit, (after I had little for lunch due to putting to much spice on my salad leaving me unable to eat it) but the lemonade with it didn't. Then I stayed up to watch the Blue Jays and ended up having popcorn and more lemonade. Oops. I need to stop doing that.

Morning, all. I realized yesterday that my worst walking days follow the nights I've used my muscle relaxant. And side effects of the pill include fatigued muscles and daytime lethargy. Duh. I'm just going back to stretching for muscle issues, even related to my knee surgery. I'll reserve the pills for when I put out/strain a back muscle and need serious, immediate pain relief.
What's sad is I have had that "realization" about those stupid pills at least 2-3 times before. :)
So today's walk was lovely—a slight bit cooler, and I gave myself permission to sit for 5 minutes just before I finished. I got home and was able to do some stretching within a few minutes—it didn't take me long to cool down. So nice.
I've had my protein shake and coffee already today. I held off on the special coffee; maybe today. I have errands to run and can't keep putting them off.

Good Afternoon!
Sara, 8 pounds is 8 pounds. Whereas your neighbor.. .well it depends what he weighed when he started. The problem with losing weight quickly is that the body will try to put it back on. Slow weight is a more permanent weight loss....gives the body a chance to adjust and accept the lower weight as normal. So celebrate those 8 pounds!
Maureen, glad you had a pleasant walk without the lethargy. Hope you got all your errands done.
@angf0679 , I have been having a craving for pizza again. Soon. 😁
Hi, Lana! Hope your day is going great!
Baseball game was rained out on Tuesday, so they played it last night....and WON! The fireworks show afterwards was awesome! My brother though....he and the SIL went out to the parking lot to watch them so they could get out sooner. What a waste.
I picked up a project that I set aside months ago and decided to work on it a bit. But I had to go back and figure out where I left off...that took some time because its a sleeveless jacket that's worked in a spiral in 3 colors so I had to figure out which color I left off with. But I did…and I will take note where I pause in future.
TTFN....

Hey Maureen,
I am curious about your muscle relaxant meds. Just curious, is it Flexeril? Regardless, if they are tablets, cut them in half. If not, is there a lower dosage?
I am very familiar with cyclobenzaprine which is the generic name for Flexeril. It comes in many dosages.
Your med might be something different because muscle relaxants such as Flexeril are not a pain reliever.
Wishing you comfort!

Hi, Missy. Happy 4th.
Lana, the muscle relaxant is Flexeril. So I will use it more sparingly.
A cooler morning today. Very nice. Sunny and a bit less humid. There's a neighborhood parade but I won't be going. Too relaxed indoors right now. Even a bit sleepy, at 10:30 am—but I've been up since 5:30.
I had a very full breakfast this morning—protein shake, yogurt, banana. I think that' part of the reason I'm sleepy. A full tummy.
I hope everyone has a lovely day.

Maureen, hope you are bright eyed and bushy tailed this afternoon!
Hey, Lana!
Maybe its a good thing I had no holiday plans...he, he. I just snacked for breakfast and lunch. Gonna play dinner by ear. The plan tomorrow is to go swimming.....I need that.
I am almost at the point where I start dividing my sweater vest for the sleeve openings. I will have to try it in and make sure I have the sizing correct.
Till tomorrow....

Good evening,
Neighborhood fireworks will be going for awhile, so Happy fourth of July.!!!!
Today I stayed inside, crocheted (learned how to make a granny square for the first time — you CAN teach an old dog new tricks!). It will be the center of a blanket - multiple yarn color will make it interesting - it is not a skein - forget the name, spool?
Tomorrow is hair apt and grocery shopping. Sunday is church and then coffee with gentlemen friend dont yet know when.
Weekend will be a little more active- at least that is the plan.
Will get both chicken and beef for meals. I am beginning to cluck again after all my chicken….
Wishing all a good night. Stay safe and sane out there.

part 2
ANGF0679 - for me portion size is key. I no longer buy large sizes of ice cream of pizza, because once in the house and opened it is almost a free for all. (think pig snorts) If you can make your own there are recipes online and the less the ingredients, the richer it is and maybe you wont want as much (see lemon ice for an example). If that is not an option, add berries or fruit to it so it has some nutrition?
Hope this helps.

Sara....a granny square....that's GREAT! Looking forward seeing your afghan progress.
Lana, I will do that…although I am terrible at selfies. 😆
Going swimming this afternoon, as I said. I like exercising better when I don't sweat....he he. Breakfast was eggs and leftover potatoes. Lunch will be a snack by the pool. Dinner is up in the air, at the moment.
Till tomorrow...

well it’s 7 PM and I am actually in bed
Had a large lunch and didn’t eat anything else for the rest of the day
I walked at Kings Mountain national military where I walked a week ago 95° heat and it was miserable then; today I did much better
Sarah, I loved the pig snort comment.

Good morning! I had a lovely walk. Only 72 and dew point was 66; it felt so cool. We are expecting a storm from the coast. Sadly, it is on a path toward our western mountains that took such a tragic beating from Helene last year. BUT, I don't think it will be anything like that.
I've had my protein shake and yogurt, so off to a good start today. Got in some stretches right after the walk. I was absolutely religious about stretching after running and need to get back to it.
Hoping to see at least another lb off by tomorrow. Scale dipped some this week but not a lot. That's bound to happen occasionally. Just have to soldier on.
Have a lovely day.

Good Sunday, Everybody!
Well, the swimming was a bust. I felt sick after awhile. The air temp was 87⁰, but the water temp was 88⁰! My crazy SIL insists on keeping the thermal cover on the pool when its not in use so the water can't cool off. My blood sugar spiked and I couldn't wait to get home. I told my brother I wasn't going to be using the pool till FALL, probably. What a waste. Even he doesn't like it, but as I said before, he's henpecked.
My ex is looking to adopt a dog. My daughter and I were looking at local shelter websites and I found one that might be a good match. She is going to show it to him. Would be nice for my dog to have a little friend to play with on occasion.
I skipped breakfast....have to figure what I am doing for lunch and dinner. Might make a salad for one. I feel lethargic, though....leftover from yesterday, no doubt.
TTFN...

Hey Y'all,
It's raining cats and dogs here. Yick.
Sandy - 88° is pretty darned warm for a pool, especially when the air temperature is also warm. Blech. What a shame.
Maureen - I hope that there is minimal damage with this storm. Good for you for getting out there this morning. I got myself into the pool at 8am — unheard of!

Hello everyone!
I am still here and still working on eating well and working out, although its been hard on the weekends. I've had a very very busy month. My daughter graduated, such an amazing day! And we've had a whirlwind of events since that day, which was June 14th. I am finding staying motivated during the summer hard, which i knew would happen. My puppy is loving our morning walks and expects them now.
I do feel like I'm having to really push myself to workout, i wasn't having this problem before so I hope that stops soon.
I hope everyone is enjoying their summer:)

Good Morning!
Had a nice long weekend. Got a few projects done one was unexpected got a vent blocked message on my dryer yesterday so my stepdad and I spent an hour cleaning out the whole system. The message went away after a run of the machine. It took a bit for the message to go away though. Workweek looks to be a busy one. Planning on aqua twice this week. Would be 3 times but have Bible study on the third night.Hope everyone has a nice Monday!

Lana, are you safe? I saw the awful news from CH this morning. We didn't get anything so I guess the storm stalled over you. How dreadful. NC doesn't deserve this.
Missy, how do you clean your own vent? I always think it should be easy. Had mine done last July—the previous home owner had apparently never done it in 30 years. Lucky she hadn't had a fire. She did zero home maintenance. When my daughter is financially independent, I'll spend the rest of my retirement savings on that I guess. :)
Stef, we all understand! That's why we are here.
My weight went up to 208.2 for my Monday weigh in—that's the weekly weight I record. But my body fat % went down, so I know nothing had really changed. I had a "Jimmy John's" sandwich yesterday, so I'm sure my sodium intake skyrocketed.
I had a lovely 3 mile walk today. Pretty cool still. Cracks me up that I spent 35 years in WI and after 4 years in NC, I'm calling 73 "cool." I'm a lightweight now!
I have one of my last massages today. I've canceled my membership—I just don't get to use it regularly. I'll go back when I can.
Have a lovely day.
Maureen

Good Morning!
Hey Stef and Missy! Stef, I can't do much exercising in the heat....makes me sick. So I get it. But walks with doggie are good! Missy, I have to clean my a/c filter....obviously not a project like yours, but I keep forgetting to do it. You just reminded me. 😁
Maureen, 73⁰ is cool to ME, too. And the older I get, the more heat affects me. And a 3 mile walk....that's great!
Lana, hope all is ok, there!
I plan on making tuna macaroni salad today....I got the rest of the ingredients yesterday.
I got a call from the Dermatologists office. The mole on my back was just a mole. But the tumor....which they told me was pre cancerous.....is not. So I have to make an appointment for surgery. I will do that today. Thankfully, the surgery is not far…near where I used to live, so that's convenient.
Feeling down again today. I am SO tired of this. I need to feel better.…no ambition when I am like this.
Till tomorrow....

Sandy - I am so sorry to hear that. I hope you get your date soon.
I've fallen back into my addictive habits of Facebook, YouTube and my phone. I deleted Facebook off my phone, BUT there is a little icon for Facebook in Messenger and you can get on it that way. Now I am thinking of deleting Messenger off my phone to stop me from doing that. My brother and sister-in-law are mostly the only ones that message me that way, and if they have to get hold me urgently, they have my cell number. The issue is when I get back into those I go down "rabbit holes" and nothing else gets done. No making supper (I order in or have cereal), not running, not doing my piano practice…………
With getting back into those old addictive habits, the scale is going back up. I need to work on saying "No" and not getting on my computer as soon as I get home from work (I am at work right now.)

@mkculs yikes! She was very lucky! Basically took the hose that goes from back of machine off to the outside cleared that out then stuck vacuum into the machine in back and front. Had to use a grabber thing to get some of the lint out that was just out of reach for vacuum. It took a good hour but it should be good for another 6 months to a year.

sandy I just replaced my a/c filter a week ago. That was fairly easy but I think the ac and heating might be due for a cleaning. I have to clean the basement up first. I took everything out previously to go through but then lost motivation to put it back together again smh. 🤦🏼♀️ plan is to get a dumpster and just toss. Obviously don’t need much of it so it can go.
