Deepest respect MKCULS. Schoolteachers deserve happiness.
I am sorry about the PD days. From my experience as a parent the timing can some times be difficult, but that is life.

Kate, thanks. Lots of folks work tough jobs. I'm lucky to have one that brings so much meaning to my life, and I try not to forget that. How old are your kids? Mine range now from 35-23, and my grandson is 19 months.
How are y'all doing? Still super humid here—near 100%. Coolish at 75F. My best mile time this am, without even trying. That was nice. I'm almost back to a "normal for me" speed.
I was really hungry sometime last night/early this morning. Just a fleeting awareness at some point—I think I was awake :0 But I was fine when I actually got up.
We have some just-ripened Georgia peaches and I cannot wait to sink my teeth into one. I may have a whole bowl full for dinner if they are as good as I anticipate. On some hot oatmeal with a touch of cream (non-dairy, zero sugar creamer, of course :) With steamed veggies for lunch. I may need to double the volume of veggies as I have been getting a bit too hungry, like stomach-growling hungry, and b/c it's usually at night, I ignore it. I know that's probably not good for me, though.
Are frozen vegetables more expensive than fresh? I haven't even thought to check lately. And I can't remember. In Wisconsin, I never bought fresh—they spoiled so, so quickly most of the year—basically, all year, because they traveled so far. It was ridiculous. That won't be as much of an issue in NC, and I really should visit Farmers' Markets in the area.
Have a good day.

Good morning all~
Maureen - how awful to have to go through that process every year! As for your being hungry, are you getting enough protein and fat?
It sure is gloomy and depressing here today. Blech. I may just read all day.

I taught 1st grade for 3 years. I don't have the patience needed for it. I love what I do now. (I am a paralegal.)
It's summer so I am constantly craving ice cream. I need to crave something better for you!

Lana, I am definitely getting lots of protein. Maybe not enough fat.
Ang, I was a paralegal for 3 years. I loved the research parts I did, and I was often tasked with finding people because I was good at it; I enjoyed that too. But I didn't like the clients or other attorneys. Figured out I wasn't going to go to law school and decided to pursue my degree in history.
The peaches were fabulous. I had 2. I'll have 2 more tomorrow. I remember getting them right out of the field from neighbors in Virginia, still warm from the sun. We bought some for us and some for our horses. August was a great month for those peaches.

Good morning,
Week started off well, pulled muscle in sacrum Thursday and here we are.
Scale not my friend. French fries 3 times this week could do it. I also ate out twice. Once with my gentleman friend and once with my 95 year old church pew buddy. She and I both like same place to eat which helps.
Today is hair color and I have no idea what else.
Lana - we both take effexor (never had to spell it). Good medicine, and my dentist also knows I take it.
Monday I called in sick to help with church art fair work. Seems all they do is bicker. Leader of the women's group wants nothing knitted. I told her I am making Christmas tree ornaments and showed her a finger in my mind. Leader is making all kinds of waves.
My gentleman friend keeps telling me of all the women who adore him. I ignore it. He is handsome so I understand why women would like him.
okay have to get day started.
Snapping fingers to get the next cup of cappuccino.
Wishing all a good day. Stay safe and sane out there.

Lana, glad to hear it!
Sara, church lady sounds like a pain. I hope it works out.
I had a long morning in South Carolina. That's where I take my dogs for grooming, about an hour from where I live. There's a place to hike with some very steep inclines. I did 3 miles and then had lunch. My son joined me again today. It was cool and so, so humid! I was able to walk the loop each time (1.5 miles) with only a break in between loops. That was the first time since my surgery in April. Of course, it's been over 90 each time before this summer :0
Twice this week I didn't do my afternoon walk, and that's totally on me. I need to be more predictable in that regard. I will use any excuse in the afternoons. Yes, I'm tired (5x more so once I'm back at work), but the walking helps in the long run and I absolutely KNOW THAT TO BE TRUE. I'm yelling at myself here, so please don't be offended.
I had a lovely bacon-chicken-ranch wrap for lunch today and guesstimated about 675 calories. I will have a yummy peach and veggies for dinner, and still come in on target for today's calorie budget, I think.
I hope everyone enjoys the rest of the weekend.

Hello out there? I checked in hours ago and decided to wait so it wouldn't be all me, me, me here haha. Like I care ;0
Cool and gloomy. Good walk, and a good nap! I didn't sleep well last night, so I needed that extra 90 minutes today. And I finished cleaning out half of my bedroom closet space. I have the master bedroom "his and her" closets, so the "her" side is done. I honestly don't remember what's in the other side, really. I cleaned out a lot of stuff from there earlier this summer and now I'm wondering what I possibly could have left in there. I cleaned out my small dresser, too, and have empty drawers.
Settling in to read for a bit and then I'll get in a 2nd walk. I did 5 miles yesterday and might again today, taking my bigger dog. He's done well lately. I only need to walk 3 more to get in 5 total for today. Given I blew off walking twice this week, the extra mile would catch me up.
Planning on a stuffed baked potato for dinner. It will be a LOT of food, with a whole bag of broccoli, even if I use only part of the potato. I'm less hungry when I eat more, though, of course. Who'd of thought? 😂😁🤣
Have a lovely evening.

Good morning all~
Evidently I got lost yesterday. Today will be a more intentional day.
I'm looking forward to having some broccoli rabe today…..steamed, with olive oil and parmesan cheese, salt and pepper. For me, it is the rib-eye steak of vegetables. 😋

Good Morning, Group!
Maureen, you put me to shame. You are doing awesome! I need to buy more broccoli.
Sara....not take anything knitted?? That's ridiculous. What's the logic behind that?
I can technically knit, but i never took to it like I did crocheting. I want to learn how to knit those little pocket dolls that everyone is making. They say how easy it is but I guess that's if you can knit well.
Hey, Lana! Enjoy your "rib eye"!
Sorry I have been AWOL....too much stress between the vet bill, the rest of my bills and my hand surgery tomorrow. Not eating right and its embarrassing. I can do better. I just want the worries to ease up for awhile.
I did get out to get some yarn so I can finish the vest I started....but haven't had the mojo to continue with it. I started vacuuming my living room and only did half.... the vacuum is just sitting there…taunting me.
Till tomorrow...

Sandy, today I'm totally off the wagon—no walking, and 200 cals "over the limit" by lunchtime. I had corn bread, corn casserole, and hush puppies for lunch. So good. And now my stomach hurts! I needed a full "day off," though. And my house cleaner came and I'm sitting in a super clean house, enjoying it so much. Going to take my nap soon. I was really stressed, so I can relate to how you needed to step back. Any type of surgery is no fun, and financial concerns are ubiquitous, or at least if feels that way. I'm with you in spirit, trying to channel calm and positive feelings to you. Let us know how you fare when you can.
My house is so quiet. My 2nd son came to visit. He and the eldest took the dogs for a long ramble in the countryside, so it will be like this for a while. Nice.
Lana, I had to look it up. I think I've had it and didn't realize what it was. Enjoy! Especially with today's fabulous and totally unseasonable weather. Cool and dry! In NC, in August! Dogs and cats living together! My goodness!
Have a great afternoon and evening, everyone.

Happy Tuesday Y'all~
Sandy - I understand how you feel about the bills. I'm in the same boat. My bills outweigh my income. Wishing you good luck that all goes well with your hand surgery today. Let us know as soon as you can, OK?
Maureen - everyone here talks about how much they are enjoying the break in the weather, but it's been a mostly gloomy, rainy break. I want my sunny, hot August back, please! My pool heater has crapped out again, and the water is scary-cold now. *sob*
Sara - I've been thinking that you should make whatever knitted things you want for that church event, and to heck with Mrs. Fusspot the leader.

Good Morning!
Where is the summer going? Already August?!? Well I finally doing it. Decluttering the house, I’m in Day 5 and have a half dumpster full so far. Have 5 days left still a lot to go through. Definitely burning calories on this adventure. I’m also feeling so much better. I’m hoping this taming the chaos in the house leads to taming the chaos in the kitchen and getting back on track with losing weight and getting healthy again.
How is everyone else doing?

Missy, my closets are done in my room! I call that victory. It does help me feel "lighter," although it is only a drop in the bucket on what I need to do.
Lana, I hear you. It's mid 60s and pouring. Just finished my morning walk—umbrella in hand. I love jogging in the rain b/c being wet, it's not so hot. Walking wet isn't fun. And holding the umbrella is boring. Might just go with my rain jacket although I'll probably hate being too warm. But I'll do it b/c I would miss the walks too much.
I wasn't hungry at all the rest of the day yesterday after my Cornbread Bonanza Day. That was fun :)

Hello all~
I woke up to heavy rain and could hear the water rushing through the downspout outside of my bedroom. Blech!
Missy - that is some serious crap abatement going on if you have a dumpster!! Good for you~ I salute you for the ability to let go of stuff.
Maureen - I imagine that you did a lot of tossing of stuff back when you made your move to NC. Good luck with your walking today. I think that you've got the rain as well.

Morning all!
I’m feeling all the activity this morning. Day 6 of the clutter purge and I met up with a friend to hit some golf balls at the driving range last night. It’s been 20 years since I last played and needed to try out the new clubs before the tournament in a couple of weeks. Definitely a little rusty but not bad for being 20 years of no golfing.
Maureen, I’d take the 60s right now it’s hot (80s), humid and air quality is not okay due to the smoke from the Canadian wildfires. Cornbread Bonanza Day sounds like fun!
Sandy, I hear you on vet bills and stress. They aren’t cheap at all.
Hope everyone has a great day! Gotta go start decluttering!

Sandy, I hope you are doing ok.
Lana, we have lots and lots of rain. So much rain! I just used my jacket today and eventually put my hood down, I was so wet anyway. Got home and while I was soaked (water resistant, not water proof), I was not hot or sweaty. It's a miracle! :)
I visit the dermatologist today. Several spots on my forehead will need treatment—freezing, that is. It's a semi-annual ritual for this redhead raised in the South in the 60s and 70s, before sunscreen was a thing.
TTFN, all.
