    G'day, Ladies!

Maureen, its an oval above ground pool....4ft deep. Has a nice deck. There is no danger, but I appreciate your concern. ❤️ But, as I mentioned, I don't plan on swimming for another week to give my hand more of a chance to heal. Enjoy your last day of vacation!

Lana, yeah.…I need to see if there is something better available.

I stopped over my brother's to take in the mail and paper and what should I see in their driveway but my nephew's car. He and his gf were in the pool. So I talked to them for a bit then took the mail in and left. Picked up a hoagie on the way back....that will be my meal for the day.

Diligently working on the Gkids afghan.

Say HEY to all you other ladies!

I walked to both church services today. I would have walked home from the morning service as well, but I was on teller duty today and it took us awhile! I accepted the offer of a ride home. I also had 8 cups of water and stayed under my calorie goal.

I found this show on YouTube called "Freaky Eaters". After watching this, I am no longer calling myself a picky eater after watching this show regarding grown adults eating only 1 or 2 items.

I am back to work tomorrow after vacation. I can't help but wonder how many emails I will have. The lawyer I work for copies me on EVERYTHING.

Ok, now, Lana. I'll be worrying about you! do you wear a life jacket that will flip you over if you pass out? Just say yes for my sake, please! :)

My new wake up time seems to be 4 am lately. Great. I don't work this week until 7:30—right when I'll want a nap, haha. My son and I hiked another 4 miles after I'd walked 3 yesterday. It was beautiful but exhausting—we started on top of the mountain b/c I knew down would be harder on my newest knee and didn't want to get up and be unable to then get down. Well, I was too tired to go back up, so we begged a ride with the most lovely 84 year old couple. So sweet. And the forest was just spectacular.

I'm up 2 lbs from all the salt and oil this week. We will see where I really am in a few days. I was under 200 most of the week until yesterday and today.

I have to shower and change for work. No keys yet to get into my Mobile Unit—aka, Wild Animal home. I'm looking forward to my first visitors—water bugs, mice, the occasional bird or bee. All are welcome and gently escorted back to a more appropriate environment. I give them a backstory if students are present so students are less likely to try to kill them. "Oh, here's Mr. Charles, the water bug (roach) from the next block. He is married to Charlene and they have 3 kids. Char does hair and Charlie here is an accountant. Their two youngest are twins girls in 3rd grade, Fey and Fran. Billy is their 9th grader and he made varsity this year as a half-back; isn't that cool?"

Anyway, I'm packing lunches and taking my mini fridge and a small microwave to stay on program through the day. Usually I get too hungry at work, but a big bag o' veggies will help with that. Gotta find the microwave, though. I've only had ALL SUMMER to do that, hahahahaha.

Top 'O the Mornin' to You All!

Ang, there was a time when my son would only eat chicken nuggets and mashed potatoes. He does eat a little more now....but not much. No vegetables. I don't know how doesn't have health issues, but I worry he'll end up with diabetes like me. Sounds like you had a good day though.

Maureen, that's SOME hike. I doubt I could handle that. Glad you found a ride back. I like the "Wild Animal" stories! 😂

I turned off the a/c this morning....its cloudy, but its in the 60s! Opened up the windows and letting the rain washed air in. There are a couple roads closed due to flooding, but nothing serious. Now that the landscaping crew have gone, I am enjoying the peace that is absent of the constant droning of the a/c. I may be able to switch over to the central air later in the week since it's only going to be in the low 80s.

My bike is on its way! Its coming from California, though, so it's going to take some time to get here....probably another week. I am getting antsy....can't remember a time when I was so excited to get anything! I hope it will be ok....most of the reviews were positive but you read the negative ones and you wonder. Still, I have purchased other things that had negative reviews that turned out to be great. Time will tell.

While it's cool, I am going to see if I can get some housework done.

A big HELLO to everyone who stops by today!

Well, this is what I get for going to bed at 6:30 pm—awake at 2:40 am. Worked yesterday and was so tired! Today I will come home and NAP!!

Forgot to weigh this morning—I think I was right at 200 yesterday, so the week of super stress caught up to me. It will be ok. I have food to pack and I'm just not that hungry during the day yet. All the coffee and water. And when you go to bed at 6:30, you can't be hungry at night, either :)

I've got a lovely new colleague or two, and thankfully, some good folk returning. Should be a smooth year. They have left 4 of us in the back mobiles, but moved the other 6 to the front of campus. Odd! I think it has to do with the grade level of the homeroom we advise. I have seniors—both the rowdiest and most self-sufficient bunch. I know so many now, this being my 4th year at the same building, and I had many of them as 8th graders when I taught middle school. Payback time for that year! haha, jk. They are SO different now!

Have a good day of healthy eating and happy thoughts.

    Good morning all~ 🌸

    I'm here, but I'm not fully awake….

Poor Maureen - you have jet-lagged yourself without going anywhere! I hope that you have a great day today.

Sandy - it is so uplifting to have something special to look forward to! 🚴🏻‍♀️

Today's highlight for me will be going shopping at our Trader Joe's, which has just re-opened after the major flooding of Tropical Storm Chantal. Yay!

    Good Afternoon, Ladies!

Maureen, I bet its funny seeing kids you taught several years ago now. I know I was a different person between jr. hi and hi school.

Lana...heard that the bike should arrive Friday!

I looked around me yesterday and realized I need to get rid of some things. I have too many containers of assorted stuff that I need to go through, let some stuff go, and move other things to more practical places. Now actually doing it will be the challenge.

The afghan is coming along nicely. I am about halfway done.

I have been stuck at one weight for awhile....up a little, down a little, rinse, repeat. I knew eventually the body would give it up.

Hope you are having a good week so far!

I am on the struggle boat again. I know what do to eat right and exercise and run, I just lack the motivation and desire to do. Except when I go to wear something that doesn't fit me or when I see a picture of myself and don't like how I look. I need my motivation!!

Hi all. I'm exhausted, as expected. My classroom is mid-disaster, and tonight is parent night. I won't be here, though, so I guess it won't matter 🤣 And I am about to run out of power and left my power cord at home and can't do anymore room work for a while—toooooooooooo tired. Ah, well. There's always the weekend.

Trying to stay on program now. Not easy! But, on the other hand, I'm too tired to go out to eat or go out to get junk food and there's only healthy stuff at home that I'm unlikely to over eat.

No exercise this week. Looking forward to an early morning walk on Saturday!

    TTFN.

    Its Almost Midnight….

    Maureen…hope you get a good night's rest!

Ang, that's how I was when I came back to MFP the first time. It took me a few tries before I was determined. I wish I could inspire you in some way. We all have it in us to do this… it's finding that desire inside that can elude us. For me, there are 2 motivations…the one you mentioned about clothes, which you say isn't enough, and actually starting to lose. When I first came back, I lost that water weight fast and that motivated me even though it wasn't fat. However, as we all know from experience, the loss is gradual after that. And it's up and down….and frustrating. And none of us is a saint….we have times when we don't eat perfectly. I sure don't. Yesterday, I had a candy bar and potato chips because I was depressed. But it wasn't like I ate a LOT of those things…it wasn't enough to sabotage me…I only gained a few ounces back. And today, I had another candy bar, but the rest of my food was on track. You can't feel guilty for being human. And you can't fail if you don't quit.

Lana, thanks! I am feeling really good about the loss. I tried on some jeans this morning and one pair was too big! I put them in the donation pile. And my XL shirts are becoming loose on me, which is much more comfortable. So now I am officially a large instead of an XL.

Had a good day with the SO….took me out for Italian. I got lasagna….and it was very good. Had never been to that restaurant before. Just a hole in the wall but it pretty busy. I guess the quality of the food is why. Will have to try a pizza there sometime. Also did a little grocery shopping. I am good for food until next months food stamp allotment.

Made shrimp/pasta salad…I will have that for several days in leftovers. Gave some to the SO to take home.

It's been SO nice not having to run the a/c for the last few days. It was actually COLD in my bedroom last night. Should be cool in there again tonight.

    Bike arrives tomorrow!

    TIme for bed….till tomorrow…

    Happy Friday Y'all~~

Maureen, it is so important that you have healthy food at home. I hope that you got some sleep last night. Take it easy on yourself over the weekend. Go on your walks, but don't over do it.

Ang - Sending good vibes up your way for your motivation to return. People always say to never shop when you are hungry. Well what I say is never grocery shop when you are tired, as this also will cause unhelpful foods to get into the grocery shopping cart. Choose a lot of protein and fiber and veggies.

Sandy - how great is that to find that some of your clothes are too big! I'm looking forward to having that happen to me!

Missy - how are you doing? any Kiara updates?

Sara - The Cabana Boys got your memo, and they are sprucing up The Cabana Club for the Friday Happy Hour! 🌴💃 🎶⛱️🌴

    Good (Another Late) Evening!

Thanks again, Lana! I look forward to the day you post the same! ❤️

Hey all you other Lassies! Hope your weekend is starting out well!

I am beat! I will sleep good. The bike arrived earlier than was expected. The downstairs neighbor offered to carry it up to my apartment, for which I was immensely grateful...the box weighed 60 pounds. It took most of the day, with rest in-between to get it completely assembled even though most of it was together out of the box. But the SO was kind enough to help me put the front wheel on...I did the rest myself. Tried it out after that. Its VERY zippy...it will take some getting used to. But I can see where it is going to be a lot of fun. I am storing it... except for the battery....in the back of my SUV. I am able, despite the weight to lift it enough to get it in.

Well, time for bed. Till tomorrow....

    Sandy

TMW - I did weigh, but I don't remember what it was. Will do better tomorrow.

Sandy, sounds like lots of good things recently—and you were overdue! Glad to hear it.

Lana, Ang, Missy, Sara—i hope you are all doing well too. Lana, those clothes are going to fall off soon.

I walked this morning—2.5. Felt good. After a mile or so, I realized my muscles felt warm and relaxed and wanted to be stretched a bit—usually I don't get that feeling so clearly, I'm so focused on moving. It was a lovely feeling so I stopped and did some little stretches. Then I relaxed my pace-and turned home a bit short of what I intended. I stretched more at home and am now relaxing for a bit while my laundry cycles through.

I just realized I have a LOT of fresh fruit in the house that needs eating—it's at its peak! Should be a tasty day or two.

    Have a lovely Saturday.

    Good Afternoon, All!

Geez, I started this post hours ago....and forgot to finish it. Getting old sucks.

Maureen, thank you. 🙂 I no longer feel guilty about the bike. I am going to enjoy it! And fresh fruit! I bought watermelon slices and strawberries. I'll have some strawberries later.

Lana, when I am next out on the bike, I will take a pic....should have had the SO take one of me on it yesterday.

I had 2 ears of corn for lunch...corn won't be around much longer. Had spaghetti and meatballs for dinner.

The SO said his side was sore this morning...he fell off my bike yesterday! He wasn't riding it....he just wanted to sit on it. I don't know how he did it...I wasn't looking. Now he doesn't want to try it. I asked how long it had been since he was on a bike....he said decades. It's only been a couple years for me.

    Phillies game is on....TTFN

Today I blocked Facebook on my computer. I go on there and spend HOURS scrolling videos. I've done it for up to 2 hours or more at a time. It's a waste of my time. Thursday night I stayed off in the evening and got more done then I thought I would. It's been about 8ish hours since I blocked it and I am craving it. (It's not on my phone.) I had better ways to be spending my time then wasting it on social media. I've gone 2 days before with staying off it, but never a week. I am sure the withdrawal symptoms and cravings will only get worse and very real.

I've made a "To Do" list of what I need to do to get me motivated to do it. You know you have gotten bad for ordering food on (without looked at my bank account) when you need to write "cook supper" or "thaw meat for tomorrow" on it.

    Sunday already?

Maureen - Mmmm — good stretches!

Sandy - poor SO! So glad that the fall was minor. Enjoy your ride today 🚴🏻‍♀️🚴‍♀️🚴🏼‍♀️

Ang - shutting down the social media is a healthy choice. They say that our brains get a lot of dopamine from scrolling social media, so it will be a little while to adjust.

Sara - I hope that your weekend is going well for you and you have not un-alived that lady at church!

Missy - how are you doing up there? Thinking of you!

Good morning. It's another lazy day for me, I can tell. My energy level is about -1. I'll walk, and I'll bet my pace is around 28 min/mile. 22-23 is my average lately, and I am SO not feeling it. But I do want to get out, if only so I can stretch after, relax a bit, and get in a really good nap! :)

I went to one of my book clubs last night and it was lovely. The host is a charming and lovely young woman who plans food & drink, discussion, and activities! She needs to win some type of award.

I went off plan b/c I didn't realize we were having dinner (it's only my second meeting with the club). Back on track today.

I need to spend 1 hour in my kitchen, organizing. I cannot commit to more than that, so it may end with everything "out" and nothing back in yet. IDNC. If I don't get started, I won't ever finish!

    TTFN.

    Good Morning!

Ang, the main reason I stay on Facebook is to keep in touch with friends and family who are far away. And I belong to a couple crochet groups, too. But yes…you have to be careful not to let it take you over.

Maureen, I need to go through my fridge. I HATE my ancient, tiny fridge! I have to keep my office chair in the kitchen because I can't bend over long enough to find anything in it. So I sit in the chair. And I use it to sit and pull things out and organize them. But it doesn't take long before I have to do it again.

Thanks, Lana! Yes....he said he is doing ok.🙂

I changed my meal last night...had spaghetti and meatballs instead of the salad. I will have that tonight for sure. Going to finish up the corn for lunch.

And since it was recommended I get wrist guards for bike riding, I plan on doing that, as well as a water bottle holder....there are already holes drilled in the frame for that purpose.

Time to get some things done. Enjoy your Sunday!

Ang Facebook is addicting. I can spend hours on there. I’m on there mainly for keeping up with family and friends. But posts and reels are too intriguing. I should spend more time here instead or getting stuff done at home. Facebook just turns into an outlet when trying to escape stressors.

    Good Afternoon, Ladies!

I had my follow up appointment with my hand surgeon. I have to keep the wound bandages for 2 more weeks. But I can go swimming, so I may do that tomorrow.

I had a craving for fried chicken...I haven't had fried chicken in a year. So I treated myself after the Dr. appointment. That's likely why I have an increase. Will probably be another year before I have it again.

There is a yearly ice cream get together at my apartment complex. I have never attended, but this time I will go and get a soft serve cone.

Breakfast was eggs and one English muffin. Dinner will be salad.

    Till tomorrow, everyone...

Hey Sandy - that is nice that you saw your surgeon today. Please enjoy your swimming!

I love fried chicken, and I've been eating it once a week, and I've been losing. What I'm not eating is the macaroni salad and other junk carbs that I usually would have with it. I skip the desserts too.

For me, it's all about those carbs, so I keep my carbs limited to healthy, whole grain fiber bread and other carbs with a lot of fiber….brown rice, beans, hummus, and veggies. No pasta.

Definitely socialize with peeps in your living area. It fosters a sense of community, and we need that in these times.

How are you liking your bicycle? I am a bit envious, but I do not dare get one for myself. I would fall on my pointy head. 😂

    XO🩷
