Well, my phone broke and we had to go to the Apple Store, right next the the Cheesecake Factory, yesterday. We'll see where I am on Monday's weigh in.

Plus, i'm home 4 hours early, waiting to go see doc—another UTI. 3rd. Since July 27? 2nd since Aug 27. Not normal. I've only had like 2-3 before this in 66 years!

The good news is, I'm not hungry, haha. Frustrated, tired, sleepy, in pain—but wow, at least I'm not hungry. What a sad world that I care so much about this. Ugh.

    ttfn.

Oh dear - Poor Maureen! This is awful! Do you have Uristat (phenazopyridine) to help with the pain symptoms before you get your antibiotic?

    Helloooooo!

Lana, the swap went great! The bike shop was very helpful. $15 well spent. Bike is ready to go!

Maureen, oh NO! You must really be frustrated! Let's hope it clears up fast! And Cheesecake Factory....mmmmm.

As I mentioned, my bike is all fixed and ready for action. Hopefully I can get out on it Saturday....tomorrow is a busy day. I decided to stop at Franco's for a taco bowl for lunch. Had crackers and cheese for a dinner snack. And one little Tony's Chocolaty medallion. Just going to drink water for the rest of the evening while I watch the game.

Going to color my hair tomorrow when I get up and then shower afterwards. I have a game tomorrow night. SO is going so he is driving. Its more fun when he goes…he is a huge baseball fan like I am.

I bought some light iced tea mix and realized after it was delivered, I bought the wrong kind....I wanted the lemon tea mix. At first Amazon said I couldn't return it, but I chatted with the bot and it approved a refund and I don't have to return it! So I ordered the right one which will come in a couple days. Amazon likes me....they should....I order enough from them.

I paid some bills today.....zeroed out a few. But there are still some I can't do much about, including doctor bills. May have to put them on the Care Credit, which I don't really want to do since that is where the dogs surgery bill is. But I just can't pay them right now unless I give them $10 each a month till it's paid off.

    Till next time....

    Sandy

    Happy Fri-YAY!

Its a beautiful day out and this weather is expected to continue. Good biking weather…hope to do that this weekend....maybe head to the park.

This week's challenge is over and I am up a few ounces. Not a big deal. If I can get under 160 by the end of September, I will be very pleased.

Another Phillies game tonight. I will be getting a flounder hoagie to take for dinner. I have never had one before but it sounds good. Will take a bottle of water again.

Have a great beginning of the weekend, ladies!

Hello! This is definitely not my first time to try to lose the weight & keep it off. I started again this past Sunday. So far this week I am down almost 4 lbs. My Fitness Pal said I have lost a total of 75 lbs so far! I just keep starting & stopping. I will put on a little weight & lose what I put on & maybe a little more. I am really this time around trying to stop the vicious cycle I have been in. I asked my Hubby to join with me but it was a no go. I thought my best friend would help hold me accountable. But so far not so much. It is frustrating. This time around I decided to focus on 10 lbs at a time. Not look at how much I actually have to lose. This first week back has been really good. Any ideas, advice or support would be greatly appreciated!

Hey, @marceybear ! Welcome to the group! You have achieved a great loss....congratulations! We all know what the starting and stopping is like. But we also know that yo-yo'ing is not good. I live alone so I have no one to hold me accountable but me. You do what you have to do for YOU. And the 10 pound focus is the best...its not overwhelming and totally doable....that's what I am doing.

What has worked for me is finally changing how l eat. Not depriving myself....most everything in moderation. I am diabetic, so I have to a bit more careful than some. But I don't feel I am missing out on much. And I am not focused on losing quickly....the faster you lose, the faster you tend to put it back on. I have been on my weight loss journey for a year this month and have lost 28 pounds. My final total will be 40 pounds. Might take another year....I don't know. But it doesn't matter as long as I get there.

Feel free to share your thoughts, your day, your ups, your downs, your successes and failures.....anything you feel comfortable sharing. Happy to have you here....the more, the merrier!

hi, all. Doc insisted I stay home yesterday—UTI and a sinus infection.. I felt so guilty I barely moved all day and slept extr. Yuck. Did 3 miles with the dogs today and also have been resting ever since. That walk was more tiring than expected . But pain is gone and I will sleep really well tonight.

Sandy, I hope you have fun on the bike. Our weather has been perfect and I hope yours is too.

    Maureen,

I am glad to see you coming by to check in. I hope that you recover soon.

Because you have been plagued by UTIs, I want to ask again if you have over the counter Uristat (phenazopyridine) on hand at home, to help with the pain symptoms before you get your antibiotic?

I keep this stuff active, on hand. A UTI can shut you down. It can ruin your week; it can ruin a long awaited vacation. At our age it is more than smart to keep it on hand.

Uristat is what you take when you sense or know you have a UTI coming on. It is not a treatment. It is what keeps you from suffering while you get to a doctor who will prescribe an antibiotic for your UTI.

    Good Morning Everone!

Thanks Lana & Maureen for welcoming me to the group! Plan on food prepping today & doing stuff around the house. It was so hot yesterday & will be again today. So won’t be doing much outside. Also, plan on working on a craft project or two that I have been wanting to do. Hope everyone has a great Sunday!

Good Afternoon! Hope your weekend has been a good one!

@donsm40 , hey! Welcome! I get the more off than on, thing. Took me a couple retries before I was ready to commit. But you are here now. Keep coming back and do share your progress.

Maureen, glad you are doing a little better. Three miles while sick! Iron Woman!

Yesterday was one to throw away. I had too many carbs and too much sodium….and my blood sugar reflected it.6 Back on track today. Had eggs and some toast for breakfast. Will likely skip lunch and have a light dinner…maybe a sandwich. I ran out of salad so need to get more tomorrow. And I need to get a lock for my bike so I can ride it to the store for a quick trip. 4

Two important games today….Phillies could clinch the NL East and the Eagles are playing the team they beat in the SuperBowl….the Chiefs.

Warmer day today, too…will probably have to turn on the a/c for several hours. Thankfully, the nights are cool, so I don't need it to sleep.

To all who come by, have a great day!

I will read what I am behind on later.

I am determined to make today a better day. I start the day off right, but then go buy junk food or go to my coworkers candy dish. I sent her an email this morning and told her to tell me I don't need it if I came back there for candy. (She's in the complete opposite end of the office from me.)

The numbers on the scales are slowing creeping back up and they need to get back down. This time of year with Halloween candy out isn't helping. As Christmas candy will follow then Easter candy. Ugh.

I am also determined to get out for a run on my lunch break.

    Good Morning Everyone!

Hope everyone has a fantastic Monday! I am looking forward to this being my last week on 2nd shift at my job. I am going to 1st shift next week. Will be having breakfast here shortly. Fixed some egg, ham & cheese ham cups yesterday. Also, I can’t forget the coffee! Fixed some extra for today. Yum! Will figure out lunch & dinner here in a little bit.

Everybody remember that today is a new day & not worry about the decisions made yesterday.

    Good Morning!

Marcie, glad you are changing shifts. My daughter was doing 12 hour night shifts at the hospital and it totally screwed up her sleep. This week she is back to day shifts so I know she is happy, too.

Ang, I have a sweet tooth, too but since I am retired, I am the only one responsible for my tooth. I do keep candy around...I have 2 covered candy dishes in my living room. I keep Andes mints in one and Tony's Chocolaty pieces in the other and I only eat one of each and not every day. Not that I have great willpower...I just decided I need to learn moderation.

Lana, I hope the boys have some Earl Grey available. 😉

Started my day with an Atkins shake. Lunch will be a ham sandwich, probably. Might have fish for dinner.

I got a yarn order delivered this morning so now I can try crocheting pumpkins for fall....promised my daughter I would make her one. And I found an easy sweater pattern in the same stitch pattern that I want to make using some yarn from my stash I have had for years. I need to use some of it up.

    Good morning all~

Yesterday I got a bag of "cruciferous crunch" veggies from Trader Joe's. Regular grocery stores probably have bags of shredded cabbage or similar. I chopped up some onion and threw it all in a frying pan with olive oil, covered it and cooked it until soft. Some salt and pepper—→ Yummmmm!

    Good Morning, Lassies!

Lana, sounds like quite a dish! It's great when you discover something new that you really like.

I did it...I stayed up till nearly 2 in the morning when I said I wasn't going to but I saw the Phillies win the NL East Championship! But doing it on the west coast is brutal.

Its a dismal day out but we need the rain. No bike riding for awhile. And its supposed to go up to 90⁰ soon! I am NOT happy.

Food was on track yesterday....had a grilled ham and cheese for lunch and one of my frozen chicken sandwiches for dinner. Might do the same thing today.…or have soup for dinner.

    Have a terrific Tuesday, everybody!

    Hi, all. Welcome donsmo.

Lana, sorry—I keep forgetting to answer you. I’m keeping AZO on hand but will look into Uristat as well. My most recent UTI was more virulent , haha, for a bacteria, that is, and the AZOwasnt quite as effective. I’m calling in tomorrow if I don’t feeling fully cured, bc I can’t keep doing this. I don’t have the time. Three in fewer than three weeks? Nope. Esp someone whose had 2 in 66 prior years.

I feel much better of course if not 100% and dabbled in some off-trail exploration yesterday. In a forest. Just lovely except for the spider webs I walked through twice. I keep a stick going but somehow missed 2 until my arm found them. Ya gotta take the bad with the good, and it’s worth it. I want to work out how to manage in a forest with no obvious markings. It will be slow going and I can’t really get lost-a mile or 2 in any direction will bring me somewhere I’ll know. But it’s a new adventure.

still struggling to lose since returning to work. Not gaining, thankfully. Getting fully well should help bc I’ll get out more after work. So tired a lot right now.

Sandy, I hope your weather improves.

    TTFN.

    Good morning all~

Jeez, I couldn't get back to sleep at 3AM, so I'm up. I can't just lie in bed hoping to go back to sleep.

Maureen - I think that the Uristat is the same drug as your AZO. I hope that you can get rid of that infection. Three in fewer than three weeks sounds like it was one infection that was never wiped out. Your walk in the forest sounds cool, spider webs and all. 🕸️

Sandy - Congrats on your team winning its championship - very exciting!

Ladies - I think that we need to send The Cabana Boys out for a search and rescue mission for Sara. I hope that The Dragon at work hasn't eaten her alive 🐲.

    Good Hump Day, Everyone!

Maureen...THREE UTI's in 3 weeks? Is your doctor checking to see what is going on there? Glad you are improving!

Thanks Lana! I wasn't going to stay up last night, but I am glad I did....they won again! One more game in California and I can get more sleep. Speaking of sleep, SO sorry you couldn't sleep last night. Hope you get to sleep tonight. I have had nights like that, though not lately.

Another good food day yesterday. Another grilled ham and cheese and had a half can of soup for dinner. It was one I never had before...a sausage pasta Alfredo, and it was SPICY! A little too spicy, but I still ate it... and drank a lot of water. Trip to Wegman's is the plan this afternoon..I have exactly 2 apples in my crisper drawer and that's it. I need food.

Hey....check in, all you MIA's! We want to buy you a drink. 🍸

    Until tomorrow...

    Good evening,

I am not good on phones (print is way too small) and I do not want to admit why I thought my computer didnt work, because I am typing on it.

Good news - I have lost 10 pounds since Christmas. Okay more days on the scale says so than not.

Dragon has a long vacation soon. Just glad for the respite.

I am watching on YouTube Derek Sarno who is vegan and shows you how to prepare vegetables and plant based things (tofu/tempeh). Vegetables got so boring - I am trying new things.

I would like to read back but the website says I missed 97 messages.

Soccer season is up and running. I still see my gentleman friend.

Wishing all a good night. Stay safe and sane out there.

I feel like a yo-yo. I start the day off right but usually start going down hill by noon, mostly when I don't get up and go run or at least go for a walk. The way my body is aching is telling me I am not doing things right again. (I hate how as I am getting older my body tells me things like way!) I need to get out at lunch today and run more for my mental health then my physical, as my mental health goes a long way in helping my physical health.

I also need to do better at meal planning. I tried last weekend, but the weekend go away on me with other things (both good and bad) and I ran out of time. One reason I ran out of time was my "doomsday scrolling and watching" videos on both Facebook and YouTube. I blocked both of them again, and again deleted Messenger off my phone. (as I used Messenger to get on Facebook on my phone and did the same thing.) I am starting to really considering deleting Facebook. I need to get back into the real world and the world of social media. If my friends and family wanted to stay in contact with me and see what is happening, there are other ways.

    Hello all~~

Sara - it's so good to see that you are alive and well. ✨Congratulations on your loss! 🎉 Check on your phone settings as to how to increase the font size of the print. Look in Settings for Accessibility, and then font size. There should be a slider to choose how large you want the print. That's great about the new ideas for veggies!

Marcey - please tell us about your puppies!

Sandy - I may have to make a grilled ham and cheese today - I love them!

    Good Morning Everyone!

At last Thursday!!!! Last night was my last night on nights. I am off work till Monday when I start my 1st hours! Yay! 😀 I am so happy to be going to see my sister! (Even though it is a 6hr drive) Leave early in the morning tomorrow. It has been too long since we have seen each other.

Sara ~ Way to go on your weight loss! Keep up the great work! I know how hard it is to keep on track. I did not have such a great day yesterday myself. This time around I have decided to hold myself accountable. I logged everything. Might not have liked what I saw. But today is a new day! I am not going to beat myself up anymore for what I did yesterday. I am moving forward not back! I need to do way better at food prepping & exercising.

    About the grilled ham & cheese….YUM! 😋

Now about the two puppies. Bella is 50lbs of lap dog! She is a 4yr old beautiful Pit Bull & American Bulldog. She is the sweetest dog. She is my snuggler & loves her Daddy to pieces! Then we have our Jasper, a 90lb Chocolate Lab. He is also the sweetest dog. But…Jasper has this other side. We call him (Doofus the Freak). Or as my FIL loving calls him Rufus. lol! He gets to playing it is no holds barred! We love them both!

    IMG_3251.jpeg IMG_3277.jpeg

Have a great day! I will try to post messages. But I might be out of contact for a couple of days. Where my sister lives out in the boonies. Cell reception is not the greatest.

    Good Thursday Afternoon!

Sara...great achievement! And I know it will be nice to see your friend again. I am trying to face that my friend is moving away. 😔

    Marcey....those doggies....WOW! I envy you...wish I could have another dog.

Lana, I had another one for lunch. I think I am just about grilled ham and cheese'd out...LOL! But they are good!

Ang, I get it. You have to do what you can for your mental health. I am on Facebook and occasionally Bluesky, although that's mostly for posting my crocheting. I also check out Reddit and Quora, although I am seriously considering leaving Quora....its all nonsense political posts now. You couldn't pay me to be on Instagram or Tik Tok.

A good day so far. Had a small cup of Siggi's for breakfast and....surprise....a grilled ham and cheese for lunch. Not sure about dinner yet.

Yesterday the SO asked if I wanted to go to Cane's for a late lunch and of course I said YES. I expected my weight to be up today but nope. The weekly online challenge ends tomorrow and I really want to hit goal this time.

Hoping to get on my bike tomorrow...weekend is expected to be very nice. Today I need to prepare banana slices for my dog for treats. I found out bananas are good for dogs who have had calcium oxilate stones. So I have to peel, slice and freeze the slices on a cookie sheet so they don't stick together.

    TTFN....

    Good morning everyone!

Marcey - have a safe trip out and back and a great time with your sister in the boonies! Your doggies are wonderful !

Sandy - the past couple of days I've been having ham and cheese omelettes, which work for me to get that grilled ham and cheese yumminess 😋 Have fun on your bike~

Ang - You are so right about how our mental health is entwined with our physical health. Do what you can, when you can, and give yourself praise for the good things you are doing. 🤗

Waving to Sara and Maureen and Missy - wishing you rest from your work week 🌸
