    Happy Fri-yay, again!

Lana, that's a great idea about the omelet! May have to try that! I usually only have cheese omelets.

I had the bag of Littleneck clams for dinner last night.....mmmm! Love clams! My only complaint is you used to get 50 clams for $15…now its only 25 for $15. But it was enough. I tried offering one to my dog....all he did was rub himself on it! I guess the texture was something he didn't like. And he will eat ANYTHING!

I went through a bin of clothes that have been too small for me for longer than I can remember. Tried them on and a lot of them fit! Just a couple....a bathing suit and 2 pair of Gap jeans (one of which still has the tags on them!) are still too small. I figure another 10 pounds and they should all fit. But the ones that DO fit are a big win for me!

    Hope everyone is doing well!

    Good morning all~~

Sandy - Good for you for "clothes shopping in your own closet"!

I'm looking forward to being able to do that. I've got some pretty things and some very useful pants that I'd like to be able to wear again. I've told myself No More new clothes purchases!

I've got to cover the pool this weekend, because the neighbor's monster tulip poplar is starting to rain down its leaves already. It's a hellish job, but I will take it slowly.

Wishing everyone a good day today~

Good Afternoon, All! Hope you're having a great weekend!

Lana, thanks! And you will get there....I have no doubt! And despite the work, I wish had a pool.

II had my last ham and cheese sandwich for lunch....I slept too late for breakfast. I slept through my alarm. I guess all those West Coast late night ball games caught up with me.

I was pulling the chain on my cuckoo clock and it fell off the wall (the reason I have my sofa beneath it). I was able to soften the fall, but my hand hit it on the way down and I knocked the woodcutter off and dislocated the wire that attaches to his arm. I broke down in tears! When I finally got my composure back, I reconnected the wire and glued the man back on the clock base. I am letting the glue set. Then I have to rehang it, reattach the weights and test my repair to see if it works. I am keeping my fingers crossed. Its a Black Forest clock my late fiancé bought me when he was there. He told me he got a lot of scrutiny from airport security because he didn't want to take a chance packing it in his luggage so he carried it and sat it on his lap the whole trip! I will be heartbroken if I can't fix it.

    Got some errands to run....TTFN!

Wow Sandy - how awful about your poor clock. That must have been very stressful for you. I hope that it will all turn out well. If it doesn't, please do not be upset. Change is a part of life, as you know. Keep the clock in its usual spot, and wait until some time in the future when you can have a clockmaker attend to it. Sending big hugs~ 🤗

Good morning and Happy Autumn! It's 90 here at 11 am hahahaha. I've been up since 3 and BACK IN THE ER! Fortunately, it's not an "emergent" situation after all (even though the ER video visit doc sent me to the real ER "just in case.") "Vitreous detachment," in my left eye. I've had retinal "migraines" my whole life—just the auras, only 2 actual headaches, since I was 18. This time it was just in one eye and google, and then my sister, an NP, both said, go to ER. So of course I don't. I waited to this morning and went it wasn't gone, I did the video visit, and when she said, go to ER, I finally gave in. The CT showed nothing but an eye ultrasound revealed it—and even I could see it on the U/S. Cool. So I'm to follow up with an opthamologist "this week, preferably in no less than 2-3 days." I'm thinking I'll be lucky to get in before 6 months!

The good news is, I've been feeling really well when I'm not exhausted at the end of the work day! No sinus infection, UTI is responding, all good. Did a lovely walk with my son and the dogs in a remote area yesterday. Will go out again this evening—after a day-time nap!

I read all the posts since my last and I know Ang and I are struggling. Everyone else seems to be doing really well and Sara, it was nice to see you pop your head in!

I'm thinking of all the football fans in Charlotte today, sweltering at the game—unless the stadium is closed and has A/C? I have no idea. You could not have paid me to freeze through a Packers' game in my WI days, or to sweat and burn through a Panthers' game here in NC! And the best news is, all the stores and roads will be fairly empty most of the day b/c people who don't go to games watch on TV. I love football season b/c I get my town "to myself," hahaha.

    Cheers to all. TTFN.

    Peaceful Sunday to all.

Maureen, if you say it's NOT an emergency, I will take your word for it, but when you make that appointment, impress on the receptionist that you were told 2 days to be seen....maybe they can squeeze you in.

Lana, thank you! I just got done crying.…the clock is frozen. I did try playing with it but nothing helped. I am so used to hearing it cuckoo and play music and seeing all the characters move, the silence is deafening. I have a wind up Westminster chime clock that works fine, but its not quite the same. I can't afford to have it repaired. 😪

I had some Siggi's for breakfast....and a slice of Ultimate White Cake from Wegman's. Bad, I know, but I just wanted it. Dinner will have to be salad.

    Till tomorrow....

    Hi Y'all~

Maureen - with the virtrious detachment, you need to be seen pronto by an ophthalmologist to look for/rule out a retinal tear or retinal detachment. Those are very serious conditions and need to be treated immediately. Charlotte is a huge city. Someone will be able to see you tomorrow.

Sandy - take the clock for a diagnosis and a free repair estimate, even if you can't spend money on it right now. At least you'll have some concrete information, while you save your pennies to have it done next year.

Well, I got the dang pool cover on, a lived to tell about it.

Waving to all who stop by later on.

    Good evening,

I am wondering where my weekend went, oops then I remembered all the naps I took.

Collards greens and fried hash brown patties for dinner. Rest of greens with chili and corn bread is lunch tomorrow. It is an improvement on the "when I am so lazy" mindset and all kinds of junk food parades in front of me.

I have overboiled or overbaked so much of my food that is has lost its taste/texture. Hence my recent distaste for most things. I like my greens chewy and my hash browns crunchy. Just saying.

Work has a walk challenge that starts tomorrow, so that usually means I get more steps in. Which is always good,

Wishing all a good evening. Stay safe and sane out there.

Happy First Day of Autumn Y'all~

Sara - the walk at work challenge sounds good! So do the collard greens~ Yum!

Well, I'm starting to get a little wired up about my trip on Wednesday. I'm heading out to Wyoming to visit my bestie. I do have enough time today and tomorrow to get all of my ducks in a row, but I can't wait until I'm on that first flight when I can relax and kick back.

Wishing all of you a great day today ✨

Good Monday, Monday! Happy Fall, Y'all!

Lana, your trip sounds exciting! You deserve the down time! As for the clock, my daughter called me and I broke down in tears again when I told her about it. She knows what that clock means to me....she really liked my fiancé. She told me that she would take care of it....said she knows a place that repairs cuckoo clocks. So I am trying not to think about it for now.

Sara....a walking challenge! That's a great idea! You GO!

It doesn't take much to throw me off. Today I feel unsettled again. Nothing I can really do about it, just ride it out. I had a cheese omelet for breakfast and my have another salad for dinner. I don't feel much like preparing food today. We'll see. Almost done the body of the afghan I am working on. Then I have to weave in all the ends....that's the worst part. Then I have to crochet an edging on it. Then I can concentrate on my other granddaughter's afghan.

    TTFN...

Morning, all. It's so quiet at work—a voluntary teacher work day. No students, so I can focus on tasks for more than 3 seconds! It's not as fun or rewarding, though. I miss them even as I enjoy barreling through work that does not take long when I am uninterrupted and it's nice to see my brain still works in a long, smooth flow.

I weighed in at 195 yesterday and today, so that was nice. Pretty much zero exercise for month, and down somewhere between 2-5 lbs, depending on when I last think I had a realistic weigh in. I am still so low on protein so I broke down and got protein bars yesterday. I'll buy a better blender after I get paid next, and a microwave. Eating a bag of veggies at school for lunch really fills me up and helps me get home and feel ready to exercise, not too tired and starving. Or it did in 2019, when I started losing even before Covid.

My daughter has decided to move in with my sister and her husband in Georgia, which is such a relief. She and her nearly 2 son will be so much closer and with such good help around—sis and BIL are retired and keep their grandson a lot, too. It should work well—fingers crossed.

    TTFN.

    Good Day, Ladies!

I finally finished that afghan last night. Now I have 2 more to make....and maybe crochet myself a sweater. And I still want to knit some socks. I did knit myself a pair years ago, but I have to relearn. Knitting never came as easy to me as crocheting did.

I pushed myself out the door this morning, got my bloodwork done and my nails, too....they are a caramel color for fall. I made some mac and cheese for lunch....dinner will be light.

    Hope everyone is doing well!

    Good Day, All!

Just a quick check in.…I will heading to the ballpark in a few. Lousy weather.…figures on my last game of the season. Oh well...I am prepared with rain ponchos if needed.

Got 2 dozen fresh eggs from my egg lady this morning so I am set for a couple more months. And I ordered some hair dye and conditioner to keep my newly dyed head fresher until the next dye.

Forgot to weigh this morning, but it may be up tomorrow....gonna have another cheesesteak at the park.

Till tomorrow…..have a great rest of your day!

    Good Day, Lassies!

The game was historic!...literally! I won't bore you with the details, but if you are curious, you can Google "Phillies/Marlins game".

My weight is up slightly from the half cheesesteak and onion rings I had at the game. But I'll own it.

I really need to straighten up around here....I have been neglecting the apartment. After I have something to eat....haven't eaten since that cheesesteak at 6:00 last night.

    Hope you all are well!

Hmmmm.....I am beginning to think I am talking to myself. Where are y'all? I hope you're just busy cause that's a good thing.

The challenge this week wasn't so good…weight is up a bit. But baseball games are finished for the season and I have to get serious again...I can cheat more when I reach goal.

I am still waiting to make a pot of chili but not when its going to be 85⁰ out! C'mon Fall.. I am more than ready to ditch the a/c until next summer.

    Have a great day, everyone!

Dragon is MIA (on a cruise ship) for a good while.

I am getting creative trying to get steps in - perhaps we as a group should challenge each other?

Thinking of making soup over the weekend. It will be in the 80 but the cafeteria is always ice cold. Think sweet potato/parsnip/ginger/greens/tortilla chips. Its a work in progress,

Tracy I would rather knit or crochet anytime, sewing in ends is not my favorite part either.

It is Friday and my reward is sleep.

Wishing all a good night. Stay safe and sane out there.

Sara - Glad that Dragon has gone on a cruise. Maybe she'll go overboard! We can dream, right?

Sandy - Will you be out on your bicycle this weekend?

My bestie and I are having a nice visit together. Both of us have problems with our feet at the moment, so there won't be much exercise, but we are eating properly. Whew~

Hey, folks. Sorry, MIA for another 5 days. I came home from work, slept 2.5 hours, then went back to bed by 8/9 pm. So tired—and was the precursor for YET ANOTHER VIRUS! I'm so sick of being sick!! I'm already feeling better since it started Friday, so that's good. But another weekend of recovering and trying to sleep and heal. BORING!!

The good news is, I've started a couple of interesting reads for my book clubs and I've hardly eaten for 2 days. I'll probably make up for that tomorrow :)

ZERO exercise this week. Still have a slight headache. Had a lovely bloody nose—like a murder scene b/c of my blood thinners. Pretty hilarious, actually, especially b/c it was on bathroom sink area and easy to clean. Not so funny otherwise.

I'm very frustrated by how poorly my immune system has responded to the new school year. Better start looking for immune boosters, I guess. Ugh. I already take 2 vitamin supplements, 4 allergy meds, Omeprazole, and something else I cant remember, plus the blood thinner. All new in the last 2-3 years. Talk about feeling old!

Anyway, I get that the trauma to my body from surgery and complications, and some terrible stress due to 2 family issues are part of this. But I really want it to be over. I miss my walks, so much!

Good luck this week with everyone's effort to log etc.

    TTFN.

    Good Sunday, Ladies!

Lana, I had too much going on yesterday, and the weather was still blah. I am hoping tomorrow to get in a ride....I need to practice my balance.

Maureen, hey! ANOTHER virus??? Geez....I remember when I was a preschool teacher, I was always sick. I don't miss that. Hope you get this out of your system for a while.

I just lost most of my post because I was using my phone and hit the back button instead of the post. NO MORE. I am going to use my laptop from now on.

I had a taco salad from our local Mexican restaurant. And that is my meal for the day. I am taking in a lot of water....things are moving along slowly, if you get my drift. 😉

I did get some straightening done, but I need to do more. This week I will decorate for fall…I already have the bins pulled out. But I need to find a temporary home for my craft table in the living room. I usually keep it in the spare room for the holidays, but I think I will put it in my bedroom where my portable a/c unit was until I put it away. That will give me better access to it….the spare room is pretty crowded right now. I hope I can winterize my living room a/c…needs better insulation around the sides and top. Still have to work on the pantry. Never a dull moment.

Eagles are beating the Bucs at the half!

Hope all our missing friends are OK!

Sandy, you are inspiring me. I promised myself to be better by 10/01-ha, our longest staff meeting of the month. But the plan is to spend 1 hour each weekend organizing indoors (kitchen, then garage) and 1 hour in yard. It's a pretty cool jungle but I'm not sure I should let it go like that :O

Still sleep this am—unusual. But it will pass, eventually. And no rush-i'm ready for today.

    Have a great day, all.

    Hey, Y'all! Another Manic Monday.

Maureen, its a slow process. I used to fly through chores....not anymore. I can only stand in one spot for a short time before my back starts up, then I have to stop for awhile. Your plan is spot on! I am sure you will manage it.

Hiya, Lana! And hiya to everybody else.

I didn't wake up till after TEN this morning....guess I needed it. Had an Atkins shake for breakfast. Not sure about the rest of the day.

I found this photo online and I want to try and construct it...

If you need motivation - have someone take a photo of you. Ugh. My nephew turned 16 on Monday. My SIL took photos of us together as he opened his gift from me, I hate how I look! I got rid of most of my junk food in my kitchen yesterday. I should have printed those photos and stuck one to the side of my fridge.

I am slowly making my way back home. My 2:30 flight has changed to a 10:45PM flight from the middle of Wyoming to Denver. So I'm killing time at a tiny little airport. They're going to feed us pizza! I haven't had pizza in years. Yay!

My co-worker is selling Girl Guide cookies. It's the season for the thin mints. (Here in Canada we don't get the multiple flavours. Fall is thin mints, spring is the vanilla/chocolate.) Must. Resist. I can't just eat 2 a day. Two can easily turn into 6-8. The temptation is strong.
