NROWL Soreness Sneaking Up?
I did my third NROWL workout last night (minus pushups - must've fallen funny in my scrimmage the other night because I couldn't do them without pain - and not the "tired" pain but the "something ain't right" pain!). I did 70 lbs for back squats - up from 50 lbs. last week, which was fairly easy for me (and I actually had…

Activity Level
I am trying to wrap my brain around this - don't know why it's still confusing. I have calculated my BMR at 1607, my TDEE at 1928, and -20% TDEE at 1542. I set my activity level at sedentary. My thought is this way I can eat back all my exercise calories without worrying about it - am I right? Should my MFP net then always…

Listen to and trust your body- (5 weeks progress)
I upped my calories mid April (best decision ever!). After being on a plateau for 5 weeks, I knew I needed to figure what my body was telling me. I stumbled onto this forum in the beginning of April and a light bulb went off! It all made sense. I started to realize that I was obviously starving myself (netting way under…

Success so far with EM2WL!
I just wanted to share my progress so far with the EM2WL group. I have hypothyroidism and pre-diabetes. Both are metabolic conditions that slow my metabolism and have made weight loss difficult and frustrating. I had so many questions and fears coming into this and I hope that by sharing my experience so far it will…

Hey Eaters
I just wanted to let you guys know that I'll be providing updated pictures some time soon. Also, I'm starting Insanity/Chalean Extreme Hybrid next week. Mind you that I've never done Insanity, but I feel like I'm more than ready for whatever it throws at me so call me CRAZY because I'm going insane. Where is a doctor when…

so how did we get fat?
I've been musing about how those of us in the overweight, but just under obese (or at the low end of obese) category get fat. (And indeed this may apply to those with even more to lose). There's some "well, duh" factor stuff here to get out of the way. I read a blog recently by a woman who's lost more than 150 pounds. And…

Netting BMR
So I have been playing around with upping my calories, but want to make sure I am doing this 100% right. My BMR is 1400, my TDEE - 20% for cut is 1700 (not such a big difference there) - I got these off the scoobyworkshop website. The 1700 already takes my activity level into account, right? But I never want to "net" below…

gain
since I've gained 8 lbs in two weeks. Should I change my TDEE/BMR/etc due to that or that is just water retention. I know it can't be FAT ;) I have not eat more than 3,500 in a day!

I have messed with my metabolism over years and I lived on low cals for way to long. Ok i have never been really overweight but I had to watch carefully what I ate and I did a lot…

New to this eating more! HELP ME PLEASE
So I decided that it was crzy for me to be eating so little calories, about 1200 calories a day and only netting about 800 or so. After reading so many things I need to eat more. So today I did. I feel like I could bust! Please someone look at my diary and give me an idea. I only decided this today, so its this afternoon…

Bridge the Calorie Gap?
I've just started researching through the Eat More to Weigh Less threads, and think I'll give this a try for sure. I've been stuck in the same 2-4 pound plateau for several months, and would love to break through for the finish line. Here are my current numbers: BMI: 26.13 RMR: 2268 BMR: 2269 TDEE: 3517 With that, it…

I just wanted to say Hi
I joined this group a few days ago and I have been commenting here and there so I figured I would introduce myself. I was 155 2 years ago when I started P90X. I went down to 127 on my first round and was able to sort of maintain my weight till I went on vacation in Dec 2011. I decided to do a second round to toned up and…

Little help for a newbie :)
I have calculated all my numbers based on my stats now and understand that my goal is to never eat below my BMR(1607) and to try and eat at 15% below my TDEE which would be 1865. What I am wondering is what is the food balance how much protein, carbs, fat, sugar etc are you all eating? My diary is open and would love any…

Exercise tracker???
I went into my "Goals" and clicked on "custom" to change my calorie goal. But, I was wondering what everyone does for the exercise tracker? I left it alone, but then is adds back the calories for the day. How do I fix that? Dori

I just keep getting fatter and fatter :(
I raised my calories around the 5th to 1800. I had a few slipups with eating out and family parties, but for the most part stayed around 1800-2000. I just kept gaining. I raised it again this week to 2000 because im nursing a toddler and should be eating an extra 200 calories. My clothes are tighter. Clothes I could fit…

3 days in...
And I'm already so happy I made this change. I had only been on the MFP 1200 calorie standard for three weeks and was feeling miserable. At this point in my day at work (4-5pm), I was starving and only had 400 calories left for dinner. Now, I've just had a snack of Greek yogurt (have never liked yogurt until now), and feel…

a newbie to this group
Since I've been butting in on threads today, I figured I should introduce myself. First, thank you for starting this group and for keeping it going! I just joined today, and there's so much useful info. A bit about me: I lost 50lbs on Weight Watchers, and switched to MFP 4 weeks ago, but I mostly ignored the forums and the…

Introduction, scared, and needing some tips!
Hi everyone! I'm very excited to be a new member of this group and am hoping that it will help me reach my goals. For years, I was a yo-yo dieter who unfortunately developed a case of bulemia. I am trying to recover from it and I know it will take time but I am confident that I will be able to kick this illness by making…

How to log active summer job?
I wanted to see if I could get some feed back on how to log a summer job. I'm on my feet the whole time, walking around a small area. I wore my pedometer today during training, it had me burning nearly 600 calories in 3.5 hours. Should I log that as exercise, or should I up my activity level on my TDEE and recalculate…

Not sure I fit here....
Hey Peeps! After a month and 10 lbs down (1200 cal) I read about this group. I do cardio for 30-45 min 5/6 days aweek. I do no strength training yet. I am looking to lose only about 30 lbs (or drop a size or 2) I upped the caloried to 1400 this week and gained 1.5 lbs..lol Since I do not do serious workouts do I really…

Is this how I figure my net?
I haven't been using my HRM lately because of my BMF but on days like today when I teach 3 classes I figured I'd wear it and see if I go under my BMR. Granted that will be hard to do since my TDEE is around 3000 and my BMR is 1600. I'd have to burn a whole heck of a lot...but to make sure I'm doing it right. I have my cut…

Book recommendations
Hi! I've been part of this group for about 3 weeks now. I think I ended up here in part because of a couple of interesting books that I've read over the past few months. They speak to the emotional and psychological aspects of eating and weight loss, but they are so much in line with the philosophies of this group that I…

Few Q's regarding BMR method/MFP claorie allowance
Hi ... I have been reading up on this EM2LW for a few weeks now - officially obsessed with it and finally realized where my confusion lies: 1. I had a body analysis performed where my body fat % was calculationed. its currently 50.1% - EEK! as a result my BMR is 1496 bc using the Katch- Mcardle (sp) calc BMR considers body…

Add Even More for Nursing?
Should I add even more calories for breastfeeding, even if my Fat2Fit number is already at 2274? Any one else here nursing full time? TIA! :)

I'm confused.....HELP!
I'm new here and trying to get my numbers straight. Yesterday, I plugged in my numbers on fitnessfrog and according to that my TDEE is 2,279. So, 15% less is 1,937 which is what I followed yesterday. But a post by someone suggested fat2fitradio.com and get your body fat % and then put that number into the calculator on…

Ha ha! Breakthrough moment!
I've been reading everything (and thanks for the input on my intro post!) and I think this group has been one of the best things since I started MFP. So I just updated my diary and had a little ah-ha moment. Usually I'm so pumped to see the words, "completed her food diary and was under her calorie goal" but now I see AH…

wHAT IF i AM NOT HUNGRY?
I don't eat all of my calories and of course, now my weight loss is at a stand still. I understand the logic behind eating more when you exercise more. I workout 2-3 times a day ( an hour at a time) 5 days a week. I Eat about 1200-1400 calories a day. I should be eating about 1800-2000. I am not sure if it is a mental…

That initial guilt? How do you get over it?
Brand new to this eat more to weigh less philosophy and I'm having one heck of a time wrapping my head around it. Yesterday was my first day where I netted around 2000 calories (I snacked on some almonds and cashews after I closed my diary >.<). Today I feel guilty as ever. I'm nervous about the weight gain (I use to net…
