Will it be any different? Help/Advice needed. Thanks.
So I have been trying to loose weight since Sept 2010. I started at 297lbs and have been doing Slimming World since then. In the year and a half since then I have got down to 220lbs. I was eating about 2000-2200 calories a day (estimate based on working out a few days of normal foods) This worked fine for me until the…

Holy Schmoley!
Hello everyone! I just joined this group after trying to find ways to break my plateau. I had great success for the first year of my journey, and dropped 90 pounds. However, since February I have been bouncing the same 5 or so pounds around. I decided to take my last month or so numbers from my Body Media, and bump it up…

Sugar - should I worry?
Hi, So I have been keeping my dairy for a couple of weeks now and trying to eat clean but I am really struggling to keep my sugars down. Today my allowance is 26g and I am at 56g. 30g of that comes from fruit and veg, which includes one apple, some onion and a bit of carrot! The rest is from my protein bar (11g) and a…

first gym session on eating more
I increased my calories on Sunday but due to my pcos I haven't been in the right frame of mind to train. Today I went training and all I can say is wow. My energy today was phenonenal I am normally a mess after my session and feel drained and knackered. Today though I did my cardio and my weights and still felt able to do…

How consistent is consistent?
Seems like a silly question, but after seeing how much I have bounced around in my calories for the last six weeks unintentionally, I really want to work at being consistent. I'm trying for 2100 calories/day. I do P90x, so I figure if I fall into moderately active category, then that's eating at maintenance for a…

Is this too good to be true?
I am a 40 year old female with two kids and I have battled the scale my entire life. Up and down, gaining, losing, struggling...exhausted. At this point in my life I feel like I should be an "expert" on the subject of losing weight. I have tried everything, and that is not an exaggeration. I lose 5 pounds, gain 3...lose 2…

Activity Level?
I am really confused with setting activity level. I am not really sure what does each of the oiptions on http://scoobysworkshop.com/calorie-calculator/ actually mean. If I walk 3-5 hours a week it is not the same as walking 3 hours and lifting 2 hours... but it still isn't walking only 1-3 hours a week. So how do I decide…

Carbs....
If I'm custom setting my goals, and currently doing 1702 calories (I know Lucia, you want me at 1900 but I'm working on getting it up there!) what % should I set my Carbs, Fat, Protein too???

Newbie
Okay, so I've been on this journey since January 2011, sidetracked by a back injury last summer and the holidays, but overall I've lost close to 25 pounds. I've been about 4-5 pounds above my lowest weight of 163 for a week or two after doing some traveling and eating poorly and can't seem to shake them. Before that, I had…

Up my calories slow or fast?
Hi everybody ! Just jump on the band wagon and up my calories yesterday. According to my calculations I up them to 2000 calories. I started on mfp at 1200 in Jan and lost 12.5 lbs then I up them them to 1400 three weeks ago and gained 1.7 lbs. So what I would like to know is should I just jump them up to 2000 calories…

Hey! So I am contemplating starting this EM2WL plan and I am looking for the right page that summarizes the whole theory and process. I am going to see my personal trainer this evening and was wanting to show it to her and see what she thinks. I have all my numbers BMR, TDEE, etc. but I am looking for the best page to…

Spike Days?
I asked this on another thread, but thought I'd start a new one since it's a new topic. Does anyone have days where they spike calories a bit higher than usual? I remember reading about people using this method to keep the metabolism revved. Does it help? I'm just wondering because I've gone from losing 1-1.5 lbs a week to…

I am SO boated! About to pop!
OMGoodness, I didn't know one can bloat up this much. It's not even this extreme during TOM and I feel like it's getting worst day by day. My ring sits so tight, I can't even move it (was lose couple days ago). My clothes that were lose are very snug and if I blow up just a little bit more, I will have to take out a larger…

The New Rules of Lifting.. which version?
I've been seeing a lot of people recommend the book "The New Rules of Lifting for Women." Someone has kindly given me a copy of "The New Rules of Lifting: Six Basic Moves for Maximum Muscle." I am wondering.. Is there any reason for me to spend money and buy the one for women if I already have the other one? I assumed from…

I just want to make sure I am doing this right
I have read through a lot of posts on this group and followed the suggestion of some of MFP friends. I upped my calories about a week and half or so ago. My goal is to maintain (i think this will be the more difficult challenge). I looked at various sites, including the one in the sticky and the result is as follows…

So the first week I was up 5lbs. Now on my second week of EM2WL and I am up another 2. Anyone else experience a constant increase in weight? The reason I weighed is because I looked smaller (again) and I wanted to confirm this. SOOOO weird ;)

I know this does work, but....
Grrrr....I'm frustrated. I started EM2WL on April 5th and had a steady loss of 1 pound a week. Usually I weigh in every day so I know my pattern. I will drop to an all-time low, go back up, bounce around through the week, then drop to a new low. That's how it's been every week. Except. since May 8th. I can't seem to drop…

STRONG and WELL FED!!
I just bench pressed 100 lbs SIX time tonight! Granted it was on easy mode on a machine with my husband spotting/helping but I DID IT! This from the gal who before could only say "Yeah, I can bench the bar!" I love feeling strong and fueled! What kind of fitness victories have you had recently?

New to This?
I am very new to this and I see your success pictures and I am curious. I need help. MFP told me to consume 1390 in calories and I usually burn 400-1000. I already have a hard time eating those back. I have had success with my loss at a little over 10lbs. I have completely changed my eating habits, but I just don't know…

Can I Eat back my exercise cals?
I understand that you should include exercise to get your tdee cut number BUT I find that I am more inclined to exercise if I 'earn' calories from doing it. So can I take my tdee cut from sedentary (which is 2000 cals for me) and then add and eat back exercise on top? I use a HRM to get my cals burnt so it should be pretty…

question about calories please
I officially started EM2LW last week. I was originally eating about 800-900 calories a day. I know bad bad bad. I have my calorie range set at 1600 and my BMR is like 1425. Since I started this I am eating more for sure but I still am having a hard time reaching the 1600 range and even the 1425. The only day I did was a…
