Consistency and Vacation
I've been dreading my vacation that will be taking place 3 weeks from this coming Wednesday. I am not bringing a scale with me (either food or weight), will not have access to the gym, and will not be really tracking my calories as I normally do. I will be able to go swimming at the beach (hopefully), and continue my c25k.…

Not much of loss but something i guess. i was pretty happy as this was the start of my eating more. but i wanted more so i looked at my…

transitioning from body pump to NROLFW
Ok - today at the gym I did my first NROLFW workout. I was able to do all of the workouts and so far am feeling pretty good. I have been doing weight training in the form of the Les Mills Body Pump classes 2x a week. So it felt weird to be done in 30 minutes today instead of an hour. Anyway - I think starting Monday I'll…

will you check my food diary
OMG! I ate a lot of food today..I logged my yogurt and nuts to eat before bed..Freaking out a little with the high calorie numbers as I was used to only eating 1200. I did a lot of working out this week. I bought a new bike and couldn't resist going for a few rides. I tried to to go real slow to not burn too many calories…

Anyone else NOT gain when you started?
Not that I'm complaining! Just wondering, since it seems like the big concern is gaining. I had a very small initial gain, though I think that was sodium and not EMTLW (I bloat horribly if I eat too much sodium, but it's always gone within a day or two of eating right). I started doing EMTLW May 1st, increasing…

interesting read on portion sizes
http://forecast.diabetes.org/portions-may2012?utm_source=Facebook&utm_medium=Post&utm_content=052012-portions&utm_campaign=DF We don't get overweight by eating 2000 a day, but by eating 2000 a meal! Even though i was pretty good at eyeballing portion sizes, it is eye opening when you use scale and measuring cups.

How do you measure body fat percentage?
Hi all, Just wondering how you measure body fat percentage? I have a scale that displays body fat percentage--not sure how accurate that is. Does anyone use calipers? Thanks!

Cheat meals?
Hi everyone! I'm new here and still figuring out if this is what I'd like to do, and I have a question - do any of you have "cheat" meals? Meals where you eat what you want and either don't count the calories, or don't care how many calories there are? I would think that if you eat close at least your BMR every day, cheat…

Non workout day questions...Help!
Newbie here and just trying to fit all the info in my brain. I just had a question on taking in calories on non-workout day or rest days. I know consistency is key so we should try to eat around the same amount of calories each day, but is it okay or right to lower the intake of calories on those non workout days. If so…

Newbie Here!!!! Please help.....
Hi all, Hoping someone can help me?? I am a 5'3" 40 year old moderately active female. On MFP my BMR was 1500 a day. When I checked my TDEE it came to roughly 2117. Subtracting 15% off that, I came up with the figure of 1800 calls a day. Trying to change that on MFP, but don't know how??? I changed my settings to say I…

gained weight with eating right and exercise-
I started exercising 6 months ago- think of Jillian Michaels and Bob Harper's type-- in my goal to be lean and fit. I was not overweight to begin with . Now, I gained 3 kilos because of that! I control my calories and exercise. I don't exercise much, just 30-45 minutes a day, and around 3-4 times a week. Im quite disturbed…

NET and the BodyMediaLINK??
I've had my bf for a little over a week. I figured out my daily calorie goal should be 2040. So, I already set that as my new goal here. My question is do I need to be concerned about getting to NET of 1500, or just stick with the 2040? The 2040 is the average from the last 7 days. Some days were very active, others were…

help! my story/dilemma
Hi everyone! I seem to be skilled at writing threads to which nobody responds, so I'm hoping that won't be the case this time. I'm new to the group and would like some help in figuring out what stage I should be in and how to make sure I've got the right caloric goals. I'm not the typical 1200-calorie/day person (I can't…

Ten miler and nrolfw
Hi all! I have been on MFP for about a year. I initially lost about 25 lbs, but then during the course of a 8 month foot injury and a son having two surgeries, I lost my ability to exercise consistently. So I have signed up for the Army ten miler in Oct and I have my slightly used copy of New Rules. Now, this next month…

BMR Question # 100,000,000
So after going through a period where I was only netting 900 - 1000 calories a day, my body pretty much started shutting down. i was falling asleep at work, sleeping 9 hours at night, and was still having no energy. Then I started reading up about BMR, TDEE, and realized that I needed to eat way more than what I was…

Drastic Change in activity level with new job?

how to incorporate this into MFP
So I upped my calories to 2700 which is my maintenance tdee. I am doing the metabolic reset. I like to see how many calories I burn a day so I went to the scooby calculator and figured out my tdee would be 1800 if i was sedentary. So I burn about 900 calories a day working out and doing household duties (cleaning, laundry,…

Bodymedia Fit questions
I could use so help from those of you who use these devices. I'm considering getting one and am not sure how they work. I'd like to have one sync to my iPad (not 4 g) via my wireless connection rather than having to buy the monitor display or hook it up to the cord on the computer. Would either the link or the core device…

Hi all! I've been eating more for the past approx 2.5 months now and I am beyond frustrated!!! Last week I was at my lowest weight (again) after beginning this eating more journey. I thought "See? OK, I admit it...I'd like some pals
I have been em2wl for 8 weeks now. Staying the course even though the weight is the same and the measurements haven't changed in a bit (actually the legs are up, but I have been lifting heavier). Anyhow, I think of random things that I'd like to post, but they don't really warrant a thread. Then, I thought, duh! That's…
