After reading the china study I have decided that its more important for me to eat a wide variety of whole foods than to worry about specific nutrients. Coleen Patrick-goodreau has some great (free)podcasts too. There is also a blog called the alternative vegan that has some great fresh recipes. T

I agree this post wasn't what I expected and you are so right!! This has just made my day what a lovely community of clever motivated awesome folks.

Yeah it is annoying but I really do think that most people really are interested and will sometimes use jokes as a mask to hide their interest as a lot of people do feel uncomfortable about the cruelty that their food choices are creating. Happy to give as good as I get although I too have never heard about peanut butter…

I too eat mostly fruit and veggies and I am way healthier than pretty much every one else I know. I do eat nuts and tofu. I agree we do live in a protein obsessed society.

I am vegan have been for 2 years add me if you like.
-
I too will take a couple of dishes one so that there is great food for me and two so that everyone else can enjoy some awesome vegan food

I haven't got the recipe but I have eaten it and it was amazing so I am sure you can find the recipe on the net and it is a chocolate mousse made from avocado and it was brilliant! I find a completely raw diet a challenge but will eat at least one meal a day raw and for convenience its usually lunch and salad.

Awesome idea I am thinking that's what I need to do too. That and take my measurements. Scale is only part of the story and its too easy to let it become the whole story.

I am so trying this!

I too went from vegetarian to vegan and for me I asked some friends to buy me vegan cook books then just became vegan overnight. I do still slip up occasionally when I ask one too few questions when eating out or eat something that I wouldn't have thought for a second would contain dairy until I read the ingredients. I say…

There are a lot of other measures of success so don't pin all of your motivation on just that one thing. Did you weigh yourself at the same time of day? Did you go to the toilet before or after? What time of the month is it. I personally go by feel do you feel better? Were you feeling happier (before you stepped on the…

Very happy meat eater turned vegetarian then vegan. Had my cholesterol checked when I was vegetarian and realized replacing meat for cheese didn't work for me. Feel welcome to add me. I promise that the chickens won't mind if you decide not to eat them and of it doesn't work for you you can always change your eating habits…

I saw a picture of this sliced with tomato and basil. Some red onion and garlic would go a treat too

If your diet is good and you are exercising maybe you don't need to lose weight and so your body has decided not to. If you are healthy and getting fitter then its possible that the scales are not telling the full story. First up though you do need to check your diet is right.

Thanks. I too tend not to be very good at supplements and will take iron sometimes and that is pretty much it. So yes I really do need to get my act together

I would support the farmer growing grains via Kia instead. Animals are resource hungry . If pushed yes I would support the chicken farmer a hungry farmer will feed himself and his family before his chickens so I would feel better knowing that they are better off. I think the biggest opportunity to make a difference is in…

Puffed kamut is my current breakfast with a table spoon of sets and dried fruit added. The kamut is high in volume so you feel great having a massive bowl. I love steamed spinach garlic mushrooms home made baked beans and scrambled tofu is the best.

I use tofu to replace chicken so I guess you could call it a flesh substitute but my meat eating friends tell me they are nothing alike so I guess the jury is still out on that one

I have been a vegan for two years. Please feel welcome to add me would love some new friends. I could talk about vegan food all day!

Funny I was watching a show on prejudice while reading this. Watching how tough it can be for people who are of a different race or disabled makes me appreciate that the only reason I am ridiculed is for something that I am in full control over. I choose this lifestyle and I am really happy and proud of my choice. Yes I do…

Agreed and I had some kale just a short time ago this recipe would have been perfect

You eat your pets?

really it didnt sound like a paid add Peace out

I agree but I have to say that before becoming vegan I used to use the same types of rationalisations that now sound nuts to me. I hope that the rationalisation is the first step on a path towards an awareness and a caring that is impossible to step back from. one doesnt rationalise if one is not thinking and suspecting…

This challenge looks great to me. I think it's so easy to be super hard on yourself and a little kindness can go a long way

As a vegan mum living in a house of omnis I know exactly how you feel. Best family meals for us is home made burgers I do a marinated tofu one that has grated carrot and coriander with avocado and sweet chilli sauce or you can use any type of veggie burger. Home made pizza with lots of veggies and some Italian herbs is…

Awesome post I too started out with c25k and I love running now. I have joined a running group and would have to say that getting out and running together is the best fun and even when in the middle of a horror run i still love it deep down. This year was a year of half and full marathons for me but my plan for next year…

I make juices based on colour so green is kiwi spinach green apple and cucumber or celery. Orange is carrot orange ginger and an apple and I add grapefruit or lemon as I don't like my juice too sweet. Beetroot is my favourite vegetable to juice and it is so pretty too I add an apple some ginger and some lemon. Have a play…
