  • You are awesome!!! amazing work! :noway: that's dedication!
  • I have a 3 pound hoop with the little knobs. The first time I did it, i couldn't believe how bad it hurt. Would describe it as being repeatedly punched in the stomach. Tried to use it again the next day and couldn't because it still hurt so bad. HOWEVER, now I hula for 10-20 mins a day and find it so easy (and painless)…
  • Oh yea. I'm always at my thinnest in the winter. Some combination of cold/darkness makes me seem to exercise more and eat less. I'm always fat and feeling lazy in the summer. Can't ever seem to get a consistent workout schedule going (no matter what it is), and eating like a fatso. Shame that my motivation/de-motivation…
  • Listen, I have been (or still am) in the same shoes as you. My BFF is absolutely beautiful, with or without makeup, boys love her and she is an absolute sweetheart. She is charming and charismatic and people gravitate towards her. In our years of friendship have there been many times where I have been like "dude, look at…
  • There's an entire thread dedicated to this one. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/372702-asians-trying-to-lose-weight Not sure how to link to a thread but hopefully that one works, and you'll find tons of us sharing your same story :)
  • P90X not my favourite - pretty boring - but good to learn how to weight lift on your own if you don't already know. Insanity - hard as all hell, but pretty much just cardio. not good for strength TurboFire is awesome. Super fun, not so hard you want to die like Insanity, and not boring like P90x.... again, probably needs…
  • My personal preference is to cycle different exercises, I find it's easier to keep form and lift the same number of reps if you cycle different muscles in between. The calorie burn really comes from doing supersets - so the concern really shouldn't be what exercises you are doing, but the length of break you are taking in…
  • Hi there! I started it ALLL with Turbo Jam many years ago. Chalene is an awesome trainer, her workouts are the most fun of all the Beachbody coaches. If you've ever done any kind of aerobics class before, you will be just fine - even better if you have ever taken any martial arts. Stick with it, because you'll love her so…
  • I am 5'3" and I eat probably at least 1700, and probably up to 2500 some days. I have lost 10 pounds in the last 4/5 months, completely not watching my calorie intake. I stopped keeping the MFP food diary sometime last year, but trust me, you would not want to creep my food choices.
  • Personally, I hate P90x. I find them boring, and Tony is not my favourite coach. I have cycled it only once, and use the exercises on my weight training days, but I do them on my own. Insanity is far too cardio based, didn't really do anything for me physically (no weight or inch loss), but mentally made me feel hard kore…
  • Frankfurt. I slept on the floor overnight there last Friday, and woke up and was able to have a shower (have never seen showers at any other airport). Better than some of the hotels I had in Europe, and definitely a cheaper night's stay!
  • It's official. I am a creeper. :blushing:
  • Pretty much always. I rarely weigh myself. My most recent weigh in was the first time in 9 months. If my jeans fit me, it's a good day. If my jeans are falling off of me, I'm for sure doing something right!
  • Insanity - by far the hardest cardio workout I've ever done... harder than the Asylum. Cycling for a third time right now but only doing the workouts i like :)
  • I guess I'm lucky that my grandmas don't (usually) call me fat, but they DO like to make comments when I lose weight. Like "ohhhh you look so good! Keep it up! Don't go back to what you were doing before!" :ohwell: or they compare me and my sister to our cousins, and the skinny ones get compared to my sister, and me? I get…
  • Doing Insanity kinda messed up my knees too. Are you doing it on carpet? I found a lot of the problem was twisting motions with my shoes on carpet, my shoes were sticking and my knees were getting jerked - make sure to pick up your feet! I know you say you have good form, so I don't know what else to tell you! Form checks…
  • This topic makes me sad!!!!! Everyone is sexy in their own way, on their own terms. Don't let anyone - especially yourself - make you believe otherwise. Find what it is about yourself that you LOVE and remember it!
  • Have been there, done this. It was awesome for awhile. We loved each other, we had that "thing" and it was amazing. Then it got to a point where I realized he was not moving forward or growing, while I definitely was, and I got frustrated and we broke up. The difference is that I got into the relationship under the…
  • I have been there and I miss it!!! For the first 6 or 7 months of 2011, I was working out 7 days a week, sometimes doubling up. I back-to-backed TurboFire, Insanity, Asylum, while climbing and playing sports. I hurt my knees pretty badly finishing up Asylum and had to take a break. In hindsight, I went way too hard for too…
  • I have cut dairy for the most part, so I thought it was interesting and wanted to see what the opinions were. Thanks to the trolls btw. CLEARLY it's not like HOOORRAYYY EAT ICE CREAM AND BE SKINNY!!!! but you know, do your thing.
  • LOL same. I've always dated guys either in better shape than me or skinny fat. I call it Denial - we're friends.
  • That just made me vomit in my mouth.
  • Not sure if it's patience or stupidity that I have..... Honestly the only reason I didn't leave after the 'wash my dishes' comment was because it was rush hour and he lived downtown................. oh, and i need to cash in on my coffee after buying him the cookie. LOL
  • I think I might win this one..... This guy tells me we have to go to this Indian restaurant by his place because they have a lunch special for $7.99 (should have been my first indication), so we go there, and he pays for his own meal and I have to pay for my own - whatever no big deal. Then afterwards, he tells me he has…
  • YUM. I can't wait!!! Weekend experiment for sure
  • Guilty.... This is simultaneously the reason I work out, and also the reason why I am fat.
  • Helllooooooooooooooo!! I'm planning on putting together some form of Asylum/TurboFire/Insanity hybrid to start up shortly. I have not been doing so hot since I finished Asylum.... I'll let you know what I come up with when I finally get on it! Either way I will be around and doing some sort of exercise!
  • I'm 25, finished school, but found out quickly that working makes you fat!
  • I'm in. Except I don't weigh myself, so it will have to be measurements, exercise and eating well goals for me!! I'm 25, 5'3", no idea what I weigh. I will take measurements tomorrow. I have a degree in Business and work as an Internal Auditor for a drilling company. I'm huge into fitness, play sports and rock climb. I…
  • Wow. This little argument going on is kind of entertaining. You're both right. So no need to fight. Blood sugar spikes and valleys will make you gain weight because they make you crave more food. If you DO NOT EAT when your blood sugar drops even though you are craving/starving then you won't gain weight. Thanks for the…
