  • Since I'm also trying to get more protein in I'm going to keep following this thread. To those of you that don't like the yogurt, I like it but you might want to try mixing a scoop of vanilla whey protein powder with it and add some fruit. It's so yummy! I don't care for cottage cheese, I wonder if I could mix protein…
  • Thanks for the info. I was trying to find it without logging in. I didn't even think to log in! I'll try it later. I've been wanting a HRM, a free one would be great! Thanks for sharing!
  • Can you post a link to the Personal Health Manager, I'm sure it's easy to find but I'm not finding it. They do have a lot of information on their website!
  • I like your analogy!
  • Hit the Report Post tab
  • I tried it and it was sour. I added 1/2 TBL of honey, some cinnamon and fresh ground nutmeg. It was much better then. I wish I had some blueberries for it, they would be great!
  • I love making this one, it's chocolate and vanilla. http://www.myrecipes.com/recipe/black-white-angel-food-cake-10000001599622/ Stick with homemade ones, the box ones are chemical tasting. Angel food also freezes really good so even if you make the cake instead of the cupcakes you can slice it up, wrap, and freeze. Google…
  • try cutting down the sugar to 1/2 tsp powdered sugar, that's what I use and it's sweet enough. I think as far as a drink goes made like this they are pretty low cal.
  • I love roasted marshmallows! and roasted peeps too!
  • I like to grill chicken, peppers (red, yellow, green), onion, zucchini, mushrooms. I mix the veggies with some EVOO, salt, pepper, garlic, herbs, my favorite is rosemary. I make lots so that we can eat it with salad the first night. Then I take the left over chicken/veggies and add a can of tomatoes, 1/4 cup red wine,…
  • I give them a light brushing of olive oil then salt & pepper. I've also cut them into chunks along with colored peppers, onion, mushrooms, zucchini... I crush some garlic and chop up some fresh herbs (rosemary, thyme but you could use others that you like) mix the cut up veggies in the oil mixture and grill. I only use…
  • I liked this post and I'm posting the link to it incase anyone wants the extras that aren't showing up. I've looked at a few of them and they have some good into in them! http://echilontel.com/2011/06/18/diet-and-excercise-myths-about-weight-gain/
  • I use the same recipe but switch out the fruit depending on what I have frozen. I use strawberries in place of the raspberries and sometimes use mango with the banana. It's a quick, easy breakfast to take with on early mornings.
  • Top with some black beans seasoned with cumin, a little salsa and greek style yogurt and they make a good lunch!
  • I'm adding mine to late for Christmas but I like sweet potatoes year round, here are my two favorite ways. Roast a whole garlic. Bake four sweet potatoes, scoop out potato, place in bowl with roasted garlic, two tablespoons greek style yogurt, some salt and pepper and mash. These warm up good so I like to make extra to…
  • With darker mornings and snowy roads not far behind the treadmill will again be my best friend. I think the best weight loss happens when you aren't doing the same thing everyday (walking at the same speed, same amount of miles or time) so look at some of the walking programs. I'll post the one I'm going to start but…
  • Great work! your results are amazing and it makes me think I might want to try it. Are you doing the eating plan that goes with it? Can't wait to see your 90 day pics!:flowerforyou:
  • bring a good book and your own snacks, nuts are filling and while I don't eat it often maybe some dried fruits, banana chips are crunchy and sweet. :flowerforyou:
  • Great work! keep it up, you look great!
  • this is the best advice I could give so I am saying Amen to Holton's words of wisdom and I'll continue to keep you in prayer. Kelly
  • I just cooked bacon for in a broccoli/cauliflower salad! Like you said a little goes along way in the flavor department!
  • This is what I was going to say so I'll only add that I sleep better if I'm not hungry so most nights I have a bowl of cereal with 1% milk about 30 min before I go to sleep.
  • Good article! There are also some good recipes for BBQ's one is chilled snap peas with creamy tarragon dressing. I had to look for the article because part of the link is missing (though it's all there when I quoted you) so I'm going to post it again. OK I'm editing because it is cutting the end of it off again. To get to…
  • I have to ask what is "healthy" about cool whip, box cake mixes and diet pop? All of them are full of chemicals. If I'm going to have a treat I want it to be natural foods. Just because a food is low cal or low sugar does not mean it's healthy.
  • I read the article and it seems pretty onesided with no real proof that BC pills are any worse than other prescription drugs, they all have side effects. For most healthy women the pill is a good option in preventing pregnancy. I was on the pill for 6 yrs before I had my first baby and about 2.5 yrs before my second. I've…
  • Another really good post, I'm only quoting this paragraph because this is what I was wondering about. Can a person over exercise? I see people spending hours working out and wonder if it really is practical, can they maintain that long term. At some point when they cut out some of those workouts will they gain weight. I…
  • Praying and will continue to pray for her in these next weeks/months. I cannot imagine the pain she must be going through.
  • Sunsh1ne & Bleux, I'm glad you are both liking running, it really makes a difference in sticking with something if you enjoy it. I ran today but could not get my ipod to work so no podcast. I'll have to see what it's problem is, sometimes I don't like technology.
  • Careful with that Greek god's honey flavor, we refer to it as crack in a tub, lol. It is so good! Even my husband loves the plain. I use it instead of milk in mashed potatoes, just mash them then stir in a little yogurt till it's a nice consistancy. And I always use it to make vegetable dip. It's way better than sour cream…
  • I haven't been on her lately but I have been running. I did week 2, now I'm havng two days of rest. Yesterday and Wednesday after my run I walked my dog 2.5 mi. By the time I was done my legs & butt were tired! I'll walk the dog today and tomorrow but that's it for exercise for me this weekend. I'm looking forward to week…
