3x5 vs. 5x5 ?
So it looks like Starting Strength and Stronglifts are pretty much the same except that SS is 3x5 and Stronglifts is 5x5 (excluding the deadlift.) There are a few exercises (so far, I'm only in the first phase) where Tony says "Everyone does 16 reps" or some other amount of reps. What is the benefit to doing that over picking a heavier weight and doing less reps?? I don't really understand why I should do that many reps with a lighter weight... Just curious.
