Fasted state lifting
I workout at 4:30 am 6 days per week, lifting heavy with 30 minutes of moderate intensity cardio 3-4 days. I get up about 15 minutes before to get dressed, teeth, wash my face and hit the door. I do not eat before I go. I am curious as to what supplements, if any, I could add in to drink along with my water that would help…

Lifting Heavy
I lift and am currently doing Jamie Eason Live Fit. Really loving it but I don't know if I am really lifting heavy enough. I try to ensure that reps 8-10 are difficult but still possible to complete. Am I on the right track here? Should I increase weights each week or when those last few reps feel easier?

Small win!
I wanted to share a win I had yesterday. I received some pretty devastating news yesterday. I naturally wanted to eat everything in sight and then sleep for days. That's how I cope. Healthy huh? But I fought. I fought the urge to binge and I got in my 2nd workout last night. I finished the night exactly where I planned to…

Squats
I've been lifting for about 3 months now. I did it several years ago and worked up to squatting 90 pounds. This time around, I can barely get above 40. I can get down low but then it's almost like my hip flexors get stuck and I have a hard time getting back up. I do legs 2 days per week with a few days rest in between. I…

Strong curves
I just ordered this book from Amazon and I must say I'm pretty freaking excited about it. I've been back lifting for about 6 weeks now and man did I forget how much I love it. I rarely do cardio and am already fitting back into my "goal clothes" though I've only lost a few pounds. I'd love to hear what others experience…

After workouts
Does it matter whether you eat a protein bar or drink a shake after workouts? I workout at night and am up and down all night after drinking my shake. I thought maybe a protein bar would be better. Thoughts?

Bow Flex
DH and I are getting a bow flex in the next few weeks. I am very weak all over and look forward to finally getting really toned and strong. Anyone out there that uses this machine; I am looking for advice on how we should use it. Meaning how often, do we alternate exercises each time? We also have a treadmill so we will…

Water intake frequency
I try to get all of my water in while I'm at work so I am not up at night going potty and it gives me a good excuse to get up and walk. Does that matter or do I need to spread it more evenly throughout the day. I've never really thought it mattered but am not curious.

Kayakers?
My husband and I are looking for a kayak for my family of 3 (my son is 6.) We fell in love while on vacation in the Keys last year. I'm looking for some possible recommendations on the best ones. The one we used on vacation was a tandem but had plenty of room to fit my son in the middle. Thoughts?

South Alabama
Anyone here for good ol' south Alabama? I'd love some more local friends!

Diary advise
My diary is open and I'd love any advise or comments you guys have. Snacking at night is something I'm really working on getting under control as well as my water intake. I'm not seeing results (weight loss or inches) like I did the first time I did this 3 years ago. I know it takes time and I'm willing to put in the time…

"Clean" banana pudding
Semi clean individual banana pudding 1/2 small container vanilla greek yogurt 1 tbsp vanilla protein powder 1/2 banana 1/2 sheet graham crackers This is pretty tasty and really took care of my sweet something craving after my workout. Not terrible for ya either. I can see a million different options here with mix in,…

Hi! I'm sorta new!
I used MFP about 2.5 years ago and lost 30 pounds. I loved it. Life happened blah, blah, I gained 20 back. So, I'm back to using what I know works. I'd love some friends to help support me and hold me accountable!

Attn parents - Christmas
What are some of the things you plan on getting your little ones for Christmas. I have a 3 year old boy. He is a TOTAL boy, the rougher and dirtier the better!!! LOL!!! He has asked for trucks, cars and dirt for Christmas!! Love it. So far, I have gotten his traditional pj's to open Christmas Eve. Super hero dress up…

Thigh question
My thighs have always been my problem area. I finished stage 1 (starting stage 2 today.) My issue is that the normal size of pants that I wear (2) are SO tight in the thighs (all the way to my knee) I have to get a 4 to be comfortable. Is it really possible that I gained that much muscle during stage 1. I find it quite…

Alpha issues
My male boxer, Jake, has always been the epitome of what you would consider as an alpha of a pack (we have 4, 3 boxers and 1 beagle.) My other 2 dogs never challenged him; they just brushed him off and went on their way. Then we got Zoe. We've said all along how much like Jake she is; looks and personality. She's never…

Do these numbers look accurate?
I started NROLFW last week and agree with the idea of eating more to weigh less. I've been reading around the group and have done my calcs and would love to have some input. Used the scooby website to get the following info: Used light activity level BMR - 1396 TDEE - 1920 15% cut - 1632 NROLFW 3 days per week LIGHT cardio…

Non fishy fish
Give me some ideas of what fish to try; non-fishy fish. I've tried tilapia a few times but it is too fishy for my taste. I've got some grouper and mahi mahi (which I LOVE) in the freezer now. What other fish should I try. I like them to have a nice, firm texture as well.

Stage 1 at home ??
I am about to start stage 1 B or I would have searched for the answer instead of asking. I do this at home but do not have the equipment for the lat pulldowns. What can I do instead? The book does not offer any alternatives to these like other exercises. Thanks

Protein on rest days
I left my book at home today and am trying to plan out my day tomorrow (working hard aren't I!!) What does it say about protein on your off day other than making sure to get the recommended amount. Are you supposed to eat a protein bar or have a shake and is it at a certain time. Can not for the life of me remember. Oh,…

Holidays
I successfully made it out of Thanksgiving without gaining anything. I enjoyed the foods I love but reasonably. I am really very proud of myself for getting through it unharmed!! It really is all about balance and using common sense. I love this new lifestyle and I will NEVER go back!
