When you reach maintenance?
I'm new here. I don't have a ton to lose and I'm hoping to do it by the end of June. Once you reach your goal weight, does your daily calorie count change to a higher amount for maintenance?

Special Occasions in Maintenance
So last week is Easter and I let loose for the day but still was somewhat mindful of intake. I didn't go up this week it seems (just some minor fluctuations up over the course of the week). But now I have ANOTHER family celebration all this weekend (Friday and Sat). My question is: should I try to cut back this weekend…

traveling without internet--tracking suggestions?
Good morning! I am new to MFP, but am currently about 7 pounds from my goal weight. I've been working hard and tracking and measuring my food has been key to my success. (I've been doing WW). This summer I'll be traveling to my partner's family in the midwest. For about 10 days, we won't have internet access (we'll be out…

When to increase calories?
Currently I'm losing nearly a pound a week, eating about 1100-1200 cals plus exercise cals. My estimated maintenance calorie goal for 5'2", 120 lb, and lightly active is around 1650 cals (and the math works put for a 500 cal deficit for me, so it's probably accurate). In the opinion if the maintainers, should I gradually…

Increasing Caloric Intake after Dieting?
I am an avid runner, I work out almost every day for at least 30 minutes, and I'm a vegetarian and I've been calorie-restricting for about 4 months almost and have gotten below my goal weight and am underweight. I want to maintain the weight that I've lost. I will continue exercising and probably increase my runs as I…

Maintenance Approach: Oversimplified or brilliant?
In light of some recent posts about maintenance obsession and continued tracking and weigh-ins and whatnot, I keep thinking about a notion that has stuck with me after reading it several months ago in a similar thread, but I haven't had the guts to put it into practice. I'd love to hear opinions from fellow maintainers.…

Separating Weight Gain from Water/Glycogen
So I have been having a lot of problems getting to weight maintenance (dropped 10lbs in 2 months while I was trying to hit my maintenance number). However, I think I am there now! The key has been adding back in things like dessert but eating them in ways that still fit in my calorie goals. Also, I have noticed that my…

Maintaining but always feeling hungry all the time.
The last 2-3 months I've done well, I've kept my hard earned lost weight off, but everyday I felt more hungier and hungier. I naturally increased by calorie limit everyday, but can't go up much higher, I dont know how much longer I can keep up with this torture lifestyle. If I return to eating "normally" it will be…

FINALLY! Now what?
So, I just went in for a check-up at the doctor's (I hadn't weighed myself for about a month and the ONE day I go to the gym to weigh myself, the scale is broken. What luck.), and apparently I have REACHED MY GOAL! I'm sorry… It just feels SO good to say that! YAY! At 5 feet and 1 1/2 inches, I am 100.5 pounds (don't add…

Struggle with "maintenance"..... time for honesty
So I have been at this MFP thing for awhile now. I entered into maintenance a year ago. I have flucuations from 135 - 140. Lately it has been closer to 140 and sometimes a bit higher (like my weigh in today). I have been so afraid of gaining the weight back that I have left my calorie goal at 1450/day. Wait.... What?!?…

Went from 169 to 185 in 2 1/2 months :(
That's just so much weight to put on in such a little amount of time. I guess that's what eating a lot of unhealthy foods and eating over your macros does to you. I was trying to get down to 140 ended up getting up to 185. Has this happened to anyone else?

Maintenance Idea
Hey, so I have been having a tough time with maintenance and all the counting. I still drop weight which is scaring me now. I was thinkin about this... Could I stop counting, set my 5lb weight range and weigh myself every week. When/if I hit the top of the weight range, I will cut back/use MFP again. But if not I'll just…

How do you know maintenance calories
How do I know how many calories to eat to maintain my weight loss? It is just eating your BMR or less? My BMR is only about 1,500 which is sort of a bummer lol. Any advice or tips? I'm nervous about keeping weight off after I'm done!

Coasting into goal?
I am about 5 lbs away from my starting goal, picked out of thin air. I may go lower but anyway...This has been on my mind for awhile now. Instead of sticking with a deficit and slowing the deficit (15%, 10%, 5%) as you get nearer to goal, could you pick a goal weight and simply eat at that maintenance number as you near it…

Still having trouble eating breakfast
I've never been overweight but have been known to put on a few and take the weight off again. The only time I ever want to eat breakfast is when I'm dieting and genuinely wake up hungry. Now that I'm eating normally again, I don't feel like eating breakfast. I will make a breakfast and never finish it. It was the same when…

Trying to Maintain but slowly losing
I hit maintenance back in October/November. My goal weight was 155. I decided to try to maintain at about 152.5 - meaning a range of 150-155. That is essentially what I did through February. In late February and early March, I noticed my weight trending downward, which it has continued to do. I didn't focus on it too much…
