I have confessed to being a huge Grinch. My husband is trying SO HARD to get me in the Christmas spirit. For the last week - he has been talking about going to see "A CHRISTMAS CAROL" in theater in Atlanta. We heard on the radio that tickets were going fast, so he asked again for me to get them (he does not internet - at all)

So, bought the tickets and asked where we would go to dinner after - kind of nice since we would be dressed for the theater (which we have NEVER DONE) Only then did he realize it was not a movie.... SMFH!!! Really?
He is now trying to get out of going.

ONE MORE REASON NOT TO LIKE CHRISTMAS

So, in America do you call the Cinema the Theatre? Because in England when you say you're going to the Theatre you would immediately think it was people acting in front of you (and possibly singing), not a screen.

I would make him go, you have the tickets, tell him to suck it up and dress up nicely.

Yes. "Going to the movies" or "going to the theater" can be used interchangably.

Interesting... well FYI over here it is Cinema with a projector and a screen, Theatre is people on a stage :+1:

I can kind of understand why Mr Beka got confused/disappointed. Although, I would LOVE to see the Grinch on stage. I would be all over that.

It just dawned on me I thought you were seeing the Grinch on stage. But its not the Grinch, it's A Christmas Carol. My cold is going to my head.

HAHAHA!! I am a Grinch - but as you know - it turned our nice in the end for him.

I did see the Grinch on stage a few years ago and it was GREAT!!! My daughter joined me, not my husband. LOL

I don't because acting was a hobby for a long time. (I should get back into community theater, it's fun.) So I say: I am going to the play or to see a movie.

We could use cinema, too. Although I don't hear that much in my region.

We don't use Cinema down here at all. Theater is just interchangeable. Where he should NOT have been confused is the venue does not show projector movies. It is a play/concert venue only. He knows this...

In that case, make him go! Too bad for him that he got confused...for whatever reason.

I always say movies or the show....I rarely say theater

Sounds like a good plan, Mo. I wouldn't want to feel tied to any diet on the weekends if Denni traveled all week.

Good plan, Mo. I have been logging every day since February 2013. I guesstimate on holidays or special occasions, but I still always log. It's just habit now..and so easy. I don't even think about it. Good luck!

This. Except I don't think I (personally) would ever just say "theater". I would say "movie theater".

I never see these as the same thing. Maybe I live too close to NY. But theatre = Broadway or a play. Movie or cinema = movie.

I agree that it almost becomes a habit/part of a routine when I am mindful with logging. A coworker & multiple people said that it seems annoying or takes too long, but really sometimes it takes longer to decide what I'm going to eat & not actually logging the food.

Most of the time it takes me less than five minutes to finally log when I figure out most of what I want to eat. When I do this early it lets me change my mind if I want to eat another snack or adjust calories if my main meal is more calories after weighing.

    Yup.
And I'm one of those weirdos who pretty much eats the same foods every day for all my meals..except dinner which changes every once in a while. So I just copy from the day before and adjust weights as needed. I log it all as soon as I log in and it puts me over my goal (in the red). Then after my treadmill workout, I can close out my diary because I've earned some calories back. And as the day goes on and I earn more from walking or doing my workout videos, I will add in more snacks!

The only thing I tend to eat/drink the same everyday is my protein bars (change up flavors) & my Diet Mountain Dew. I definitely need to change up my snacks day from day or I would get bored easily.

I do need to start eating more vegetables again, but I think I burnt myself out from all the massive salads I was eating earlier this year.

I dislike doing 5k's but I am always so happy that I did them afterward. Man after the last one (it rained) i was rubbed raw in some places... it's going to take a lot of motivation to do another one in January.

I have always liked the challenge of a 5k with my daughter, but now I banned from running on pavement. Do it because you know you will feel successful afterwards. My HS track coach used to have us repeat, "The pride lasts longer than the pain," during our long training runs. :)

Hey, Spam, how's the sleep training?

It's going ok. We've had more tears than I'd like, but we're starting to get more sleep than we've ever had. So I'm overall optimistic. Ellie slept for six solid hours last night!! Of course I woke up every time she stirred even the tiniest bit, but that's still the longest sleep I've had in over a year.

I used to be such a heavy sleeper. My husband can sleep through any amount of screaming but the slightest baby shuffle wakes me. Will I ever sleep deeply again?

Me too. Every once in a while I switch and am disappointed. I'm trying to cut down on calories as I've gained a lot if weight this last year. But I'm such a creature of habit that it's so hard.

Honestly? Probably not, but you will bless the instinct that wakes you more than you will miss the sleep.

    ETA: Hooray for 6 hours!!!

Anee-Marie, I hope Ellie continues to sleep longer hours, and you can adjust to sleeping without waking every time she stirs.
