Life is short I want to live hard. I plan on being me to the very end. With friends or without. It does get lonely, my mom was my best Friend. She passed away.0

I just spent the past half an hour considering buying Acetyl Carnitine so I can workout harder and make my goal for my 30th next month. I feel like a giant hypocrite, given how I know that the broscience isn't very good and I get really het up about MLM type schemes selling such products.
Get some good pre workout, and I promise you you'll be motivated to do more0 -

And:
I feel really guilty because we bought a new car (2009 Chevrolet Cobalt to be exact) and the payments and insurance are more than we're used to. Plus it was mainly bought because I drive so far to school and hubbys blazer isn't cutting it anymore.
It's finals week and I may or may not be failing 2 of my classes, I'm beyond stressed and I haven't given two f*cks about eating right or logging much at all. I'm pissed at myself because I made dean's list with a 3.692 gpa last semester and I've failed one class already and may possibly fail another just in this semester!!!!! Ugh!
I've got a little less than a month to plan my daughter's birthday party, and we're expecting anywhere between 40-50 people to be there and I've gotta figure out how or what to serve.
I've lost control of my world and it's driving me crazy (serious control freak here)!
So sorry to hear that! Any idea why the big change? Are these totally different classes? Mainly asking just so that maybe we can offer some help.
Don't put too much pressure on yourself as far as your daughter's bday party. Doesn't have to be perfect. Delegate as many things as you can. Being a control freak is hard, but sometimes letting go of some things gives you much needed energy for other areas of your life. Hang in there!
I think a lot of it came from me thinking that since I went from 5 classes to 4 I wouldn't have so much to do. I didn't take into consideration that everything gets more difficult in higher level courses. I've definitely failed my English course, which I can retake next semester and it doesn't affect whether or not I get into the clinical program for my degree. My math, however, does. If I pass this semester, I can take probability and statistics next semester, if I fail, I have to repeat the course and I won't be able to apply for clinicals in the spring.
I was going to make most of the food for the party, (mini burgers and sandwiches) but hubby and I agreed to just buy pizzas and I'll make veggie platters and little treats to go with the cake and ice cream. With everything else going on lately, that's a compromise I can make.
Thanks for your encouragement too!
It definitely does get harder, but now you know so hopefully you can recover from this and not lose too much time. You are certainly not the only one this type of thing happens to!
I was going to suggest ordering pizzas, but decided not to, so I'm glad that's what you are doing. Any way you can relieve some stress right now is a good idea.
Yeah, after my meltdown on Sunday night which consisted of me sitting at my laptop bawling like a baby because I couldn't handle the stress anymore, I had to make some compromises. School, money, family issues, and the fact I've "fallen off the wagon" again with eating right and exercising has gotten to me. But, I'm a grown woman and I've gotten myself in this situation so it's time for me to pull myself up and do something about it.I use these guys because ear buds just irritate me.

I have those headphones too, found them at Target a few months ago. Best $20 I've ever spent on headphones lol!

Missing the end of a movie because I couldn't hold it in anymore finally made me stop.
I remember shopping with my grandmother & mom & I thought it was a good idea to drink a 32 ounce Clear American Sparkling water & nearly peed my pants running from store to store trying to find a bathroom.

No sense whatsoever. Apparently, the OP was shocked that she lost a pound after eating McDonald's yesterday and is convinced that it was specifically the eating of the McDonald's that caused the weight loss because for weeks she's been eating "fruit and salads" and not losing (however, when asked if she was weighing her food, she said, "Nah"). She is also convinced that the nutritional information on a packet of lettuce is lying to her: she believes that it is not 15 calories as it states but that it is actually 500 calories. She thanked a lot of people and then randomly blurted out "TROLL" at one point. I guess that sums it up.
But there was a cute picture of a cat with a pancake on its head so it was worth the five minutes I spent reading the thread
Haha if salad packs had 500 calories per cup then I would be eating around 2000 calories a day in lettuce.
In a perfect world, a salad pack would have 500 calories and a massive bar of chocolate would have only 15.
Ain't that the truth! Too bad ice cream can't have zero calories:D.

Mmmm...cheese.... I took a Buzzfeed quiz about whether you prefer cheese or chocolate. Totally thought I'd get chocolate, but nope: cheese. I checked out that thread thinking it would be about the glory of cheese. Too bad that one guy is taking up all the space arguing about what's considered "processed". Forget about that and focus on the cheeeeeeese!0 -

I don't think cashiers should make any type of judgmental comment on anything anyone is buying. None of their business.
I love Monster too. I had a similar experience. The cashier told me I was going to have a stroke because one of his friends that drinks them had one. He kept going on about how they aren't good for you. I was like Ok...
I too drink 1 Monster a day. The White Zero Ultra is my kryptonite!

Yep, that's what I use too. Ear buds that don't go over my ears hurt my ears after about 20 minutes!0 -

I use a cheap pair of hook headphones from the dollar store because regular earbuds slip out too easily.
This is exactly what I was talking about! The best!0 -

It's nearly 4 o'clock in the morning - yay insomnia - and I want ALL the foodz. Doughnuts, pizza with stuffed crust, chocolate, ice cream, roast potatoes and yorkshire puddings, cheesecake, red wine, peanut m&m's, really good cheese on really good baguettes - there is a parade of food in my head and I want it to stop.0

When I am out and about I am always eyeing up the other women I see and thinking "I am thinner" or "she is thinner than I am". It drives me crazy because it takes away from regular interactions, it is kind of petty and stupid and extremely vain but I do it all the time.
I do the exact same thing. I hate to promote the stereotype of women being insecure about their looks, and it's something I can't really explain to my SO without sounding vain, but it's definitely true in my case.
It's part of why I have a slight phobia of malls, actually. Crowded, open spaces bother me anyways, and if it's a ritzy mall where every girl is dressed up with perfect hair and has a perfect body, I want to crawl in a hole and disappear. Meanwhile, I have no problems shopping at lower-class stores where half of the shoppers are significantly overweight and the other half are wearing pajamas.
I have a phobia of fancy hair salons/spas. I feel so frumpy - I can't do makeup well (and I'm lazy) and I can't do anything with my hair so I don't feel like I'm welcome or belong in those types of places.
I'm like that too with salons. I haven't coloured my hair in a year (which I did myself) and haven't had it professionally cut or coloured in two years because I feel like I left it too long initially and now it looks so terrible and it's in such bad shape that I'm going to have to spend the entire appointment being berated about it, so I'm STILL putting it off even though my hair is more like a horse's mane at this point than actual hair. I don't understand why every time I go to a salon, it's always "Oh, when was the last time you had this cut? Who did it, the layers are terrible?" and "You've got some damage here," and "Um, is THIS how you usually wear it?" etc etc. I don't know who told hair stylists that the best way to build client loyalty is by criticizing their hair. Ugh.
My million-dollar business idea is to start a salon where no one talks to you. It's silent and there is music or Netflix or whatever for each person and you can just sit there and not make small talk with your stylist at all. He or she will just ask you what you want, clarify if necessary, and then just stop talking unless they're asking you if you're okay with what they're doing. And you can just have your hair cut and coloured and not have to tell your stylist about your last vacation and listen to them complain about their coworkers and the state of your hair.
I would pay a lot of money for this service. Would they also guarantee you that your hair will be exactly how you asked? I have a problem with this and I don't ever feel like I can really be honest and say I don't like it or that's not what I asked for.

Come say that to my face and we'll see just how fast you can run. Grrrrr...
I will never understand why people think it's okay or funny to make comments like that. I hope you don't let her deter you from running again.
My teenage daughter and I were on a walk today and got catcalls twice in a block. I despise that and almost feel threatened by it. I always have. I really DO feel threatened by the men who when I'm out for a jog or walk slow down and ask if I want a ride... no...that's why I'm on foot. Intentionally.
However - along the same line is a story that makes me laugh. When my dad was in his fifties he was mowing the lawn wearing shorts and a t-shirt. His legs were white - very white - he tans up well but his legs are hardly exposed. A car full of girls drove by and shouted Nice Tan at him... two things make this funny to me. (1) He's very hard of hearing so why did he hear that particular comment and (2) he went and bought self tanner for his legs not to be so white. My dad is a level-headed man who does not usually care about what people think of his legs.
Confession:
I don't like being flirted with or "hit on" by a man unless I'm interested first. I think I've overcome part of this now, but when a man approaches me with a smile and starts to open his mouth to talk, I'll smile back, turn around and walk away. I've left places to not "potentially" be flirted with or asked out. I've left bars, bookstores, and other places. I am in a relationship with a wonderful man and I did do a number of dates from an online site before I met him, so I've gotten more practiced at dating. I was married 16 years, and before I was married I was the same way - I didn't like being approached or flirted with unless I was already interested. The funny part is, if I don't get a vibe that a man is interested then I love to meet and talk to people. I'll talk to anyone and everyone (unless I get that vibe, then I'm gone in a flash.)0 -

Haahaa I get resentful when a guy expresses interest and I then have to turn him down. I feel bad for turning him down, but get really unreasonable narky at him at the same time, for putting me in a position where I have to say no and then feel guilty over it.0 -

I had two strips of bacon today. Got back from a 9k run and there they were, glistening sweetly in the pan, still warm.
My confession? I wanted five strips and had there been five I doubt I could have held myself back.

I've just read some (two) of the recent and most commonly referred to threads mentioned lately in this thread. Oh. my. goodness!!!
How do I put this diplomatically? How about, an abundance of replies to a thread is not an indicator of success, perhaps this sums it up?
Unless of course we're talking about the confessions thread, now this actually IS a clever, interesting and successful thread. Worth reading and not just for gifs.
Also i would never eat a pancake that had been on an animal's head. Just sayin.0 -
I confess. That was judgey and I should probably feel bad about it.

I just want everyone who has read and thought of us and especially those of you who have commented on my daughter and her potential eating disorder....Thank you. A very heart-felt thank you. I scheduled a meeting with a nutritionist for late next month. Dr follow up is the same day.
Thank you also for your supportive words and helpful words and suggestions about my approach to parenting in this situation. I had a flawed role model so I think a lot and do my best and hope for the best. I tell her when I think I've made a mistake and apologize. She knows I love her.
This is a pretty cool group. I don't have many I can share this issue with. Thank you!
My sisters and I have an on going joke, we turned out so well as parents because we had good examples of what NOT to do.

We don't judge. If the doctor put you on it, it must be for a reason.
I won't worry about one meal of carbs, just get back on the horse and continue, you'll be fine.0 -

I'm sorry to hear this, can you get professional help at all?
8 months is a good run! I recently quit smoking, i'm on about 2 & half months and going well.
I'm not particularly knowledgeable on ED's but is this something you could just dust yourself off and keep going? Consider it a little stumble, but get up smiling and carry on as you were?0 -
