Dawn - If having the extra "meal" of cereal or oatmeal stops you from eating more caloric foods as you described that might be a good thing. If eating that cereal/oatmeal stops you from having a fridge raid or munch fest then that is also a good thing. Just my opinion and everyone can post theirs.
Feels more humid than it is, hoping for more sleep.
Wishing all a good night1 -
Sara- thank you! It has stopped me from having a 2nd piece of pizza. It has stopped me from eating chocolate cream pie (yes, that is in my freezer right now. Courtesy of DH and Dutch Country Stores) I don't know what my dinner calories are, as I do not log. So, I may be hurting myself more than helping.... in my head, I am doing the right thing... hope you get some rest0

THURSDAY
Good morning,
Audit meeting today - many mistakes (we get one mistake and if we make them again they are held against us). I will ask auditor if I can use her for training as my lead says she does not understand much of my workload. Yes I just rolled my eyes.
Tomorrow I have an eye test to take so I only work half day. So the weekend is on the horizon.
9k last three days and sleep last night was not difficult. Will try and keep up the habit.

Morning all!
Twiley - that earthquake news is scary! Arniedog- you are right, Mo is in the hot-seat!!
Lynn - Prayers for your dad - take care and get some rest.
Running again this morning (but not in a good way) waves to Sara, Lana, Tracy, Marsili and all others!2 -
Good morning All~~
Sara - Will you know immediately the results of your eye test? I hope so, rather than waiting over a weekend....
Lynn - I need to read back a few days. Sending good vibes for your father.
BBL I hope.

thanks for the good vibes. Dad is doing well. Getting him out of bed for a walk today (:
Enjoyed staying at hospital and having free reign to a great salad bar! Expensive but the salads were great! Wish someone would make me a salad bar every day. LOL
Good luck at your eye appt. I hope you get good support from them.
Dawn - there are all kinds of diets out there that claim to do something to metabolism, or get your body to work better, etc etc. In the end mostly it comes to calories in and calories burnt. So if it works for you - then it works for you!
Have a great Thursday

Not too many steps in so far. have been feeling sickish the past few days. have dr appt tomorrow.
On MFP, I have signed up for both the Ultimate Accountability Challenge for May and the Biggest Loser Challenge for May. Will see which one gives me gives me more motivation to stay on track!
Lynn - good to hear your dad is doing well!
Tracey - earthquakes can be frightening. my high school was built directly over the fault line. wonder who's bright idea that was?
Sara - good luck with the eye test. hope you get the monitors and everything you need at work. i recently met someone who eats their oatmeal savory like you do sometimes. she says she uses it like a grain such as rice and will have it as a side dish with cheese or whatever seasoning in it.
Dawn - if it works for you, then do it. there is something to be said about several small "meals" throughout the day. keeps sugars more steady. keeps you from feeling like you are starving and ready to cave to temptation. i always have a sweet tooth at the end of the day, so i try to make room for the calories and before bed, i sometimes i will have a light chai tea latte and a couple graham crackers (if sweets craving was really high, i might add a light smear of marshmallow creme to the crackers)

my sister finally pushed me into doing one of those DNA tests. i gave her the results and she ported them into a health thing and we discovered several interesting mutations that we share (and a few we dont). one keeps me from metabolizing folic acid properly. i need to take folinic acid or folate instead. another involved the synthetic form of vitamin E. very eye opening!
after reading her results several months ago my sister started taking a supplement to help her with her thyroid, pineal gland, and thalmus issues. since she started it, she has been able to stop taking hydrocortisone completely.
Also learned about the "Worrier" and "Warrior" genes. really interesting stuff!
an example of the articles and research she has been doing:

Thank you all. My main concern, was if I was actually sabotaging instead of helping myself. But, oatmeal or cereal, has to be better than extra pizza and cheesy bread...
Sara- hope audit goes well. I worked at a place that we got audited once a month. I never did well.
Lynn- glad your Dad is doing well. Hope he gets to go home, soon.
Kathryn- that DNA thing is interesting... makes me want to check into it for myself....
Lana- waves to you! How's the car and walking groups going?
Suzu- hope morning isn't too crazy for you.0 -
Today is a crash and burn kind of day, have no clue what my production was and to be honest I dont really care. Looking forward to seeing Miss T and calling the day done.

FRIDAY
Good morning, TGIF
Seems appropriate that the vision test I hate to take is one of the last things I do this week. Cherry on top of sundae.
Hottest day was yesterday windows open and fans on to air out.
Auditor said I need to slow down, I am so worried about my production that my mistakes are small ones. Think long term picture......
Weekend shopping list to start today. Need to get busy on ideas for next week. Considering my week, dont hold your breath too long.
Wave to all who follow. Lurking from work.1 -
TGIF ladies and whoever else lurks!
Glad it's Friday because I didn't make breakfast, didn't make lunch, and I don't know what I'm eating for dinner.
Probably gonna put on a big crock of black beans on tonight and let them cook all night.

Good morning All~~ Happy Friday!!
I’ve just now had time to read back a few pages….
Tracy - OMG an earthquake in Tennessee! That is a surprise for me; I think only of California.
Dawn - I never knew that about Missouri - fascinating stuff
Kathryn - your high school was built on a fault? Crazy!
Lynn -Hope your father continues to improve according to plan
Sara - What kind of eye test do you have? I’m nosy because once a year I get the blinking dots test and some other weird retinal scan. I do not like the "click on the blinking dots" test because it takes so long, and it is very disorienting and tiring for me to get through.
Waving to Missy and Saltine and Tracey in Alberta and Runa and Meaghan and Suzu and Birdie~~
I wish Tess in DC and Eryn in SC would pop by~~
Waves to any lurkers and new folks~~
I hear that the Cabana Boys have a very nice Happy Hour planned for us later today~~
Time to go pay attention to the HVAC maintenance man.

245.8 today *kitten* I did it to myself.2 -
Lana it is the blinking eye test nobody likes. Still cant get past using food for reward, but I might take a long walk to combat some of the calories.
I was thinking of Tess watching Hockey - Lana thank you for remembering everyone's names. Sending good thoughts out to those who are not checking in at the moment.1 -
Good Friday to all!
I have never had a blinking eye test. now I hope I do not.
Dad is in hospital about 45 minutes away. headed there this evening again. Still in ICU, but making some progress so that is good.
CW 190.8 "kitten" also did it to myself!

Lynn the test is asking you to look at blinking dots when they occur, so far nobody I have asked likes this test.1

Afternoon all - Off today. An hour this morning with the financial guys as we prep for my retirement. Signed enough paperwork that I felt like I was buying a house!
Then Mother-in-law fell. She is fine and nothing broken. (Thank heavens the guys that cut her yard were there and able to get her up and call us - she is 99 and sharp as a tack, but getting more feeble by the day. Wish she would go to assisted living!!)
Then DH helped me cart 4 huge bookcases to the antique booth. Today was day one of move in and I was just concentrating on getting the fixtures in place. Have been working my "kitten" off getting everything looked up and priced and ready for move in. Will post a picture when I get everything in place.
Waving to Lana, Lynn, Marselli, Sara, Missy, Tracey, and Birdie~~ Probably left folks off... Speaking of Birdie... Anyone heard from her lately?2 -
Suzu- my Grandma will be 83 in Sept and still works! Granted, it's only 4 hours a day and not every day. She just doesn't want to do nothing. And, she loves to shop. Haha She's retired 3 times and they convince her to come back. She works at a daycare that is only open thru school year. So, not terrible.. glad your mother in law is ok....

I realized I normally only post when I do well. Today, I came to tell you, I screwed up. Big time.
On Thursday, I got into an argument with my HR Manager because he refused to sign a paper regarding a policy we have. I was under a deadline to have that paper in a packet by 2 pm. At one point, were discussing a certain paragraph and he said, "You don't know." Unfortunately, that is a phrase that sends me into a sputtering rage, especially since I was the one correct on the point of contention. I'm "just an assistant" but I'm not stupid.
Now for the screw up, I stewed over this interaction all afternoon, all night, and into yesterday afternoon. My food choices were horrible. I even ate a candy bar in the afternoon AND a piece of cheesecake after dinner (at least it was keto).
My calorie count for yesterday was 2491. My legs are swollen and I feel awful.
My advice to myself and to you is this: find a way to deal with anger, sadness, disappointment, etc. that doesn't involve food. Easier said than done, but our health is worth more than that momentary loss of control. We can do this! Stay strong. Back on track with lots of activity and good food choices today.

@Twiley510 the stress siren call of the candy bar is an old friend... I find it's especially hard at work to deal with negative emotions.
@Tilliesmommy1 it's a sleep way in kinda Saturday.
The crock pot of beans turned out great, its an idiot proof recipe for sure ahahaha! My other roommate went a little crazy on amazon and she is now the proud parent of an ice cream churn. I'm gonna commission her for some fresh fruit sorbets and froyo soon
Last week of school and it looks like I'll make it if I just keep my nose to the books this weekend.3 -
Hi All~~
Just a quick check-in. I didn't even weigh today. No exercise. What a lump I am.
Tomorrow I will have more energy, I am sure.
Sleep well everybody~~

Cooked up chicken breast with onion and broccoli and added Lee Kum Kee Orange Chicken sauce (460 grams sodium which is not bad) over rice. It is mildly spicy. Have 3 more meals in fridge. Trying to package things up the spatula went flying hit my t-shirt and landed on floor. Wiped up and washed floor as dog would jump on it - got enough so not even a sniff by Miss T.
Wishing all a good night.

Hey! My name is Melissa and I'm just coming back to MFP. I used to be on here but haven't for a long time. Trying to loose weight and get into shape so I'm giving this another try. I've been yoyo dieting for years and hoping this time it will stick! Feel free to add me as a friend!3

Morning All - 2:30a and have to be at work by 4 this morning for a product upgrade. Twiley, at least you recognized the stress eating pattern and called yourself on it! Welcome Melissa!
Booth is officially open! Yesterday was exhausting!! 5 miles with the walking group by 830 yesterday the packing cars and trucks, unloading and set-up. almost 18K steps in, but open for business.

SUNDAY
Good morning,
Suzu I hope you are sleeping. Good job! Exhaustion does not ensure sleep that is why I am hoping you are sleeping.
Quiet day today may focus on sleep. Have tomorrow off for eye apt - dilated eyes dont make for good production at work, so nuts to it, I took the whole day off.
Dog is up and fed and lays nearby. After breakfast we will be going back to bed for more zzzz.
Wave to all who follow. bbl.1 -
Good morning Sara~ Happy Sunday! I hope that you get the sleep and rest that you want today.
Suzu - your place looks great. I bet a lot will fly out of there quickly - looking good! Is this an every day venture? I can't remember what you told us.
Welcome back to Melissa!
Time to plan my food for the day. BBL
