    Having trouble keeping up with this thread once again! I spent the weekend in Charlotte, NC visiting my niece and going to a Panthers game. Nothing too eventful to report on the running front. Because of travel and such, a run wasn't possible on Saturday, but I did get in a nice 9 mile sunrise run around downtown Charlotte on Sunday morning. My niece lives in a cool little area called South End in a tiny apartment, so we stayed in a downtown hotel a few blocks north of her place. Between getting around Charlotte and the airports, I walked, walked, walked enough this weekend to make up for any running miles I may feel guilty about missing. Evening run coming later today. Hoping to catch up with this thread at lunchtime. Rock on you beasts!!!

    So is there enough interest to do a hoodie? If so, who wants to be the central collector and shipper?

    I'd love a Hoodie, but I'm definitely not the right person to collect and ship.

    @juliet3455 Love Ray Stevens!

    @OSUbuckeye906 Lovely pic! Weeping willows are my favorite tree :) Had one in my backyard as a kid.

    @shanaber That green grass!

    My back is still being finicky but I think I can run tonight. I wake up stiff/sore and it basically hurt all day in my desk chair yesterday, then I got home and spent hours on my feet and felt totally fine :-D So my logic is that sitting and lying around is terrible for my back and running is good ;) Of course I would not run in pain but I'll see what happens.

    Nosey midmonth question game (instead of end of month question).

    Whats on the table for Thanksgiving? Sorry UKers - What's your favorite Holliday food?

    Turkey - yeah, but I'd rather eat ham
    Gravy - not touching it
    Dressing - bleh!
    Green bean casserole - no way
    Sweet potato casserole with pecans not marshmallows - YES!!!!!!
    Big fluffy dinner rolls - with buttah!
    Cranberry Jello salad - don't leave me alone with that bowl ;)
    Pie - y'all can have all the pie you want, except the Pecan is mine

    We have a big church Thanksgiving dinner this Saturday then we'll be at my inlaws on Thanksgiving day.

    On Thanksgiving food...

    For the last 2 years, I've taken advantage of the multiple days off from work to go hiking / backpacking somewhere. This year, the plan is to go to my mom's for Thanksgiving day and then to hike Fri.-Sat. (camp overnight). For food, I'm now eating low carb. Mom will probably make plenty of high carb foods - a corn casserole, dinner rolls, mashed potatoes, yams, gravy, pie. But she knows I'm eating low carb and I plan to stick mostly with turkey and green beans (without the breaded additives people put in green bean casserole).

    Because of the Reebok 1 mile challenge on Strava, I tried to get in a run of a single mile yesterday (after 0.5 mile warm up). I didn't know how to pace myself, looking back on the chart on Strava, I was heading out too fast. The whole thing felt like a torture, my throat felt like burning at the end :sweat_smile: and the speed wasn't all that good either. But at least, I got a picture of the moon :)

    So, if my Aunt, who's trained people for the Denver marathon before is helping me make a training program, and I think the mileage isn't enough...... is it OK to add additional mileage??? LOL, I haven't even seen the plan yet, but she said something about cutting me back to 5 running days a week and putting in a weights/core/crosstraining day......I think I'm addicted to running just a little, and if the plan cuts my mileage, I won't make my goal...LOL

    I'm thinking about running the friel test for LTHR in Thursday. When I did my half hour tempo today, I really didn't feel like I was running hard while it was a half hour, I actually think that a half hour of running hard would have been faster. Friel says to run it as if it's a half hour race, and I definitely wasn't running it like that. Could I warm up for like 10-15 minutes, go hard for 30, and then cool down for another 10-15? It would basically be what I did today, without my slowing down to keep BP down? what ya'all think?

    @greenolivetree I'd eat all the things you don't like! We only agree on the pecan pie!

    @midwesterner85 sounds yummy!

    @mom3over40 great pic!

    I have no idea what were eating. My kids growing up ate at their dads, larger family atmosphere there. Most holidays it was just me and the cats. I didn't grow up with family traditions. Er didn't develop them. Bad adults in my childhood... So hard to get into to it and know what to do. I did buy a turkey.

    @Stoshew71 I'd definitely like a hoodie, but I don't live in the US so I guess I couldn't join you all in that.

    @RespectTheKitty How are you feeling today? I know how it feels to be struggling with depression so if you ever want to chat away from the boards you can always message me :)

    @Elise4270 Hope you get good news from the PT tomorrow.

    Just a short, slow run tonight so I can go with the flow tomorrow - finally bit the bullet and joined a running club and tomorrow is my first night. I'm so excited! Mainly because I want some running friends because, as much as I love you guys, I want someone IRL to run with and to talk to about poop :tongue:

    @elise4270 I've been an extremely picky eater most of my life and although I think I've come a long ways most people would still call me a picky eater. I only decided I like pecan pie LAST THANKSGIVING! I do like green beans, just not in a casserole :-p Good luck with the running :) And hey, if you wanna turn that turkey into enchiladas, go right ahead! Make your own tradition!

    @louubelle16 Have fun running and talking about poop!

    I signed up for smashrun because I was looking for something to track a running streak :-0 Looks like you need to pay for Pro to get Garmin to auto-sync??? I'll try it and see if it's a pain to have to go online and click "sync". The badges look really fun. Anybody else using smashrun??? @RespectTheKitty Maybe a new site like smashrun would help with your "rut".

    @louubelle16 @Stoshew71 If we do a hoodie, it can be shipped out of the US. I can't remember exactly, but to the UK wasn't too bad. Australia for some reason was 42 USD. GAH!

    There were 3 or 4 shirts that went over. I figure maybe a design would be easier, have it made at our local t shirt printing shop? Hoodies can get expensive. But we can see where this takes us. Maybe a beanie hat? Just brainstorming..

    I'm on board for whatever the group decides.

    Homemade cranberry sauce...the kind I make myself! That and a big ol' ham. Plus homemade rolls. You can keep the mashed potatoes, gravy (yuck), stuffing, etc. Ham, cranberries, rolls.

    You read my mind! I guarantee there will be Turkey enchiladas. I like turkey, corn bread stuffing and cranberries. Rest of it I just pass on. I like sweet potatoes, but can't stand the marshmallow stuff. I like that 5 cup /ambrosia salad. Definitely a glutton when it come to that stuff.

    @karllundy We'll have ham too. DH gets one from work. Only my son and I'll eat it (until I get a headache from the preservative). Then the dogs get it. :wink:

    I understand. I have twins. That skin is crazy. I had 10.5 inches of mine removed. So..... I just have a nice itchy scar.

    My kids miss the flabby skin. They liked to poke at it. :smirk: For losing 100 pounds, you deserve to flaunt it. That's really impressive.

    Under the cover of night, no one sees the flabby-ness. That's my plan.
