While everyone near me is looking aghast at United States politics, I can feel slightly smug (on this one day) that at least in the states we don't have an annual effigy burning day. I do like the pretty fireworks though!
Hope you're all well.
Effigy burning day is my favourite celebration.
Halloween seems to entail encouraging children to become diabetic by accepting unhealthy food from strangers. I fail to see why this is desirable.
On the other hand, Bonfire Night entails getting drunk, setting fire to things and destroying stuff. What's not to like?
It's a shame we're locked down for it...2 -

It's causing a wee bit of stress eating in this house. LOL.2 -
Hey, all. Steve here. Just turned 50. Looking to stay on track. Feel free to add me if you'd like.3 -

It's so beautiful again here today. I'm wearing shorts! Definitely cleaning up the gardens today after my workout
It's brilliant viewing as a Brit.
Watching the republicans going slightly nuts is making me chortle!
I think watching the US election is now the world's most popular sport!1 -

I hope you all have a great week.. be careful out there, I think they'll be a time of great unrest after your election no matter who wins.. So be safe
Thank you, Jo. We're all anxiously awaiting the outcome. Tense times.
Hope all is well with you.
Hey π all is great with me.. are you good?
Hanging in there, Jo, with interviewing & jobs which fell through due to lockdown, which caused a couple of cross-country relocations... but I've got a promising 2nd interview on Tues for a dream job, so fingers crossed. Not a dream salary, but I can work remotely & would love the work.
Hope, hope...1 -
Happy Thursday everyoneπ

TY, FF. Yeah, I'm not fond of the jokes either. Still, don't let the awful, snowflake characters on our terrible TV programming fool ya. The vast majority of us are normal, hardy folks... the surly nuts always seem to make the news. And, the election will be what it will be. Most I know feel the same... ya vote (or don't) & can't do anything else about what transpires in the end. It is putting most of us a bit on edge, however.
Glad to hear others feel our pain & are wishing us well!
Have a wonderful weekend!5 -
@BraydanTaffy - you try and have a good weekend, tooπ3

What a great day here! Got a beer delivery. Organized some friends to come for a socially distanced backyard drinks tomorrow, did a crazy workout with 10 different resistance exercises, for 10 reps and 10 sets so you end up having done 1000 reps and found out I've lost 2lb! Yay for hard work4

@slimgirljo15 Me, too. I went to bed at 10 pm and I'm right back UP. Too much and too little all going on at the same time in the world.

Me too I had all of 30 minutes before I was joined by a chatty boy. But I got some ribs prepped to be smoked and a chicken brined. We're taking advantage of the beautiful weather to have friends to the backyard for a socially distanced BBQ
One of the good things about covid is we have used our backyard patio more than we ever have1 -

It's nice to see pictures of people happy, while not everyone is, as with any election, as the neighbour to the north it's nice to see. Now it's time to heal. I wouldn't mind the border opening again I've been promised a trip to NYC2
