Thanks Michelle! I’ll get the fruit finished off one way or another! I know you love fruit and won’t want it to go to waste. The extra bananas will go in the freezer for smoothies. I might have one apple left and I’ll take it with me for a snack.3

Michele - when I was using the hula hoop I used the weighted one. I did not have very much fat left on my body at that time and experienced extreme bruising. I would suggest if you are going to use the weighted one that you slowly build up your endurance so that bruising does not happen. I also do not know if using the weighted one is necessary for improving weight loss. Since centrifugal force is what keeps it moving around.2

Rebecca ... congratulations on successfully making your move!
Okie ... congratulations on reaching maintenance!
Michele ... I have an AcuHoop Sports Hoop ... the weighted hoop is supposed to help you keep the hoop up?? The amount of weight is based on height and weight. I followed their recommendations but mine beats me up and I still can't keep it aloft for long.4 -
Hi ladies,
Not much to say except I’ve gained about 11lbs and just heartbroken about it. Really struggling. Did great today until I came home and then all he!! broke loose and I ate everything I set eyes on.
Could just cry. I was doing well until the holidays and when I went off track I never got back on again.
Got to get my *kitten* together and get back to what I was doing.

Terry, Sometimes the hardest thing to do is start. Just do meal to meal, and pretty soon you have a great eating day, then it just snowballs from there! You know the steps, don't over think, just make good decisions. Don't settle for eating crap, you sweet friend is worth more than that! Get out a China setting if you have to! Heehee!

Terry- you should join my three week challenge that I just started today. You don't have to go keto just CICO if you want to. The thing is this works because you have someone that is going through the same thing that you are. You also get some support whenever you need it. Let me know if you want to and I can hook you up to my site.

Machka, thank you very much for taking the time to give us such a thorough timeline report about your hubby. I'm quite relieved to hear that you weren't being left out of the loop and it certainly sounds like he's in good hands. I agree with Karen in Virginia, just because he's not visibly reacting to your talking or reading to him doesn't mean he isn't taking it all in. Overall, it does sound like progress is being made. Still keeping both of you in my thoughts.5

Yesterday I walked 10.2 km between university, taking care of various things, and the hospital.
Longest walk since January!
They just don't tell you how many things there are to deal with when stuff like this happens. How many decisions you've got to make, forms you've got to fill out, people you need to meet with.

Rebecca, so happy to hear from you! Glad your move is over and you can concentrate on making Whidbey your new home!
Terry, ((((HUGS)))). You can do this!
Today didn't start off great, got a phone call from the rec centre saying that my TRX class was cancelled as the instructor is ill. I was disappointed, I really enjoy her class, sure hope she feels better soon, not just so she can get back to work, but because she is a nice lady who deserves to be healthy. I did go to my regular gym and did a decent workout, so I guess the day wasn't so bad. Got together with some friends this afternoon, that was nice too. Also got some laundry done! Have some stuff to fold yet, it's on my bed so it will get done before bedtime!! lol
Welcome to the newbies, hugs for those who need them, kudos to those celebrating!
Hope everyone has a great day/night!

Doing 4 hours of heavy cardio, then driving the car, following the uhaul did me in! I stuck onto the truck like glue. Once my son learned of my strange driving technique, he was able to get some shut eye. Yes driving 70 mph for a couple of hours is Sooo much fun!!!
Unpacked Sunday, and well today is Monday, (isn't it?). Boxes are mostly empty, but still have book boxes, and movie boxes.
It will be interesting to see if I lost any weight thru all this!
Check back later!

Has been a long day....we really need to get this rental done, it is wearing me out and interfering with other things. Pulled p trap from one bathroom tonight preparing to change it as not draining well.....found a seashell, 62 cents, and a pair of nail clippers! Surprise! Painting all done. Still have some more cleaning, but hopefully done by this weekend.
Funeral was hard. Was nice to hear from his friends how much he spoke of me. I don't realize the impact i make on people's lives.
Need to get some sleep.
Machka- warm thoughts and prayers continue. Great job on the steps! Thank you for the updates.
Rebecca- glad you are safely at your new home. It looks lovely.
Terry- my eating is only good by cico right now. Not my kind of food, but trying to make the best choices i can. You can do this! You have great support here.
Okie- congratulations!
Prayers, hugs, high fives, and smiles!

Barbara, the S Oregon Coastie: Alberta Spruce is not difficult to decorate. I just went out to feel whether or not she is prickly. If I run my hands up her sides there is not a prickly feeling, but there is a little bit if I run my hands down. The challenge in decorating is that there are not typical evergreen branches for ornaments to dangle from. The ornaments basically lie on the surface. I choose lightweight ornaments that tend to be on the small side.
Karen: I'd love to post a picture but I have had very poor luck with that challenge. I will try to put her face in my name spot.
Machka in OZ: Thank your for helping us understand what is going on with your DH's medical situation. It sounds as though he is making progress.
Rebecca in Whidbey Island: CONGRATULATIONS! I hope you love living there. The photos are great.
DH has been put on a FODMAP diet by his doctor and is doing so much better. The change is wonderfully positive. We've had to change quite a bit of things but it isn't difficult, and so worthwhile for DH. Yay!
Painters have been here and painted our garage door today. They come on dry days, and today was quite lovely.
Hopefully Alberta's photo will appear in my little box.

I missed the tribute to our boys at City Hall. I didn't hear about it until it was over.
Greysyn came over and did some work for me again today. He was singing when he changed the bedding in the spare room. I love to hear that. We talked about his plan to be a neurologist. He is afraid that his social anxiety and ADHD could stall him. I told him he is building a tool box with his counsellor to overcome these things and turn them into positives. He hugged me and said I must have been an awesome cheerleader. Yes, but I also was a sports player. I would play my basketball game and change from my team uniform into my cheer leading outfit. (The benefit of growing up in a small town is you have a chance at everything). We talked about the sports I played - Basketball, volleyball, softball and badminton. Along with track and field. I wanted to barrel race but never had the right horse. (Roping horses are not great for barrels). It was a good afternoon. He told me that he is glad he went back to guitar and hopes to get back into martial arts. The ortho doc has to clear him. This whole bones and muscles growing at different rates has been hard on his physical activity level. He is done reading the Art of War. He is attacking War and Peace a little at a time. He says I should go see "Ready? Player One" because he thinks I would enjoy it. Yes, we covered a lot of ground while he was helping Grandma.
I took Harmony to dance. I got into it a bit with HER when I wouldn't allow Harmony to eat a chocolate chip muffin in my Toyota as the girls have been making a mess in there. I don't see anyone offering to help me clean it. It is bad enough that this is the garbage that she got Harmony for a healthy snack before dance. How is that healthy? Because they call it a muffin? It takes 15 minutes to drive them home from the studio. SHE can take the bus next time if the rules are too much. The muffin isn't anything my kids would have ate in the car. They got cheese, apples and water. Maybe celery sticks with cheez whiz or peanut butter. Harmony is learning that if she throws a bit of a fit she can control her Mom. I don't like that for my little sweetie pie.
I guess my joy today would be Greysyn and sunshine.
And robins returning.

So many gladnesses this morning, it's lovely to see everyone taking the chance for some joy. Okie, with getting to maintenance (well done!), Machka, every step you can take is so good for your own equilibrium, Sharon with your Greysyn, and Re-Becca, of course, the move. Love the place, it looks wonderful!
I'm just envious of course, as mine is still two days (and a wake-up ) away after today. Not looking forward to our two-day drive to get there, either--was hoping the "I Dream of Jeannie" thing would work for once, where I could fold my arms, bobble my head and I'm there. Yah, with my luck, I'd end up in a bottle. And not the good kind!
Tempers were flaring last night - not ours, but the parental units with their offspring. I'm looking forward to not having to disappear upstairs (OK, looking forward to not living upstairs, period!) just to avoid the chaos that is downstairs. Never abusive physically, but yelling is just the way things operate now that their dad is home. At the dogs, the kids, each other. Sometimes in anger, sometimes apparently just to be heard above the uproar. *sigh* I'm so ready for our quiet lives again. Trying to get out of here without yelling, "stop yelling!" at anyone. May be a narrow margin by Friday morning.
So, the husband and I retreat upstairs and binge-watch "As Time Goes By" every night, two or three episodes, just for sanity's sake. On his laptop now, as the TV is all packed and padded to go in the truck. It stays in my head to the point where I wake up thinking in a British accent. We do not watch a lot of TV ordinarily, or haven't for a while anyway... the times are all off here on the East Coast (sorry Michele, DJ, Allie... ) and without a DVR, we're usually in bed before anything good comes on.
Ah well... two days. I can do anything for two days except stand on my head and whistle Dixie. Right? Right.
Workwise, all my big grants are done, now it's just a board presentation to lock down, and I'm solid for ten days off. Two meetings to sort that presentation out, and then my meetings are done, as well... Did just finish reserving hotels in West Texas for my trip down there at end of April, with full-on approval from the boss--she loves it when I make sure that any trip I have to take for a specific thing is made worth the expense by adding in "cookie visits" to funders (the tradition is to always take Girl Scout cookies to funders, it makes them happy, especially when cookie season is over--if you can find out what their favorites are, even better).
Taking a night in Fort Stockton with old friends, as well, and looking forward to seeing many of the people I love while I'm there. Hopefully will have the next book up by then, or at least in proof stage (they're my writer's group).
And... my weight is showing the stress. Time to get a handle on that, as well. But for now, downstairs for a second cup of coffee will have to be enough. One thing at a time, but no things without coffee!
Love y'all,
Lisa in NC... for 72 more hours... should be pulling out this time Friday morning9
