I'm a “The Logician” (INTP-A) - Not really sure what that means … INTP Personality (“The Logician”) Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow. The important thing is not to stop questioning. Yeah, I guess that is how I live (most of the time, unless 'stressed'). I 'try' to forget yesterday because you cannot go back and change or relive it over trying to make it different. I don't worry about tomorrow; because I tend to live my life "10 Seconds @ a Time"; so the only place is to try staying in the present (which is constantly changing by nanoseconds.

Regarding pumpkin....I love pumpkin bread, pumpkin pies! Also, I love winter squash that is closely related to pumpkin. I've attached a photo of one of the "warty" squash I have in the garden right now - Galeaux D'Eysines, which can be substituted for pumpkin and the warts are caused by sugar leaking from the rind as they grow. Can't wait to try it:
Here are the before and after photos of cherry tomatoes I dried in the oven -

Allie - ((HUGS))) it's always the pits getting crappy news on Friday afternoons. Crossing fingers someone just messed up while doing the rest results and everything is fine.
Lisa - Welcome home!
Have a good weekend everyone.

Impromptu run to South Beach (Oregon- not Miami) last night to pick up a trailer. Awoke in a cloud of coastal fog that quickly cleared. We left Ptown about 10pm, nice stop over at the Casino for a few hours and pulled in at the beach about 3am. Up at 8a, home now and bushed. Good trip though.
I've always tested out as an ESTJ, will to-do the test and see if I've changed plus learn what the new add-on is. Last time I took it was close to 20 years ago.
Thankful, grateful, blessed - have a good weekend everyone!

Hmmm - ESFJ-A Consul... Very interesting. From thinking to feeling, I'd say age and experience played into that shift...

Carol in GA: I don’t like to eat pumpkins, other than in pumpkin bread or pumpkin cake. I use fakes to decorate my home for the festiviities.
Natallew12: Welcome to a great group of supportive women. Join the conversation for encouragement and support.
Lisa: Rest well while you’re at home. :flowerforyou:
Allison: I hope the second round of blood work provides good, understandable information.
Lanette: Your garden is cleaerly a fabulous place. What an interesting squash you have grown! I hope it tastes better than it looks.
I went to yoga this morning but my teacher is not feeling well so there wasn’t any class. I hope she is better soon. I burned some calories on the stationary bike and came home.

Hi Gals,
Judi – welcome
Machka – I’m ok generally with snakes – but NOT in my toilet…. I often get up in the night and do not turn on a light, there is enough light from street lights for me to find my way to “do my business”, but if there was any chance of a snake in my toilet – I’d have every light on! Can you flush it away? Just typing this is creeping me out!
Barbie – glad you are doing better. I like the sporkful pod cast to!
I’m an ISJF-T
I love pumpkin, the real thing, so pumpkin bread, ravioli, pumpkin chili, pumpkin cheesecake - but not really keen on pumpkin spice everything! And weirdly enough I do not like pumpkin pie, the texture gets me it’s a bit gloopy for me - there is a pumpkin-pecan pie that is better as the pecans fix the texture for me.

The typhoon is within 12 hours of landfall in the Philippines. It's not looking good so I'm hoping they're ready and that it won't be a repeat of a few years ago.
https://edition.cnn.com/2018/09/14/asia/typhoon-mangkhut-philippines-intl/index.html
"The Philippines is evacuating thousands of people, deploying soldiers and positioning emergency provisions as Super Typhoon Mangkhut threatens more than four million people in the north of the country.
Mangkhut -- stronger than Hurricane Florence, which is currently lashing the US East Coast -- is expected to make landfall on the Philippines island of Luzon island early on Saturday. Current wind speeds are up to 285 kilometers per hour (180 mph).
The massive storm, the equivalent of a Category 5 hurricane, has prompted alerts across east and southeast Asia. A second storm, Typhoon Barijat, has also hit the region."
Machka in Oz
It has made landfall in the Philippines now and they're saying it will still be at "super typhoon" category when it hits Hong Kong now.

I go to university with a lot of Asian students. In my class of 450 students, 447 of them are Asian, 2 sound Dutch or possibly German, and there's one Canadian-Australian.
Also, one of my closer coworkers is from Hong Kong, and and another is from the Philippines.

Took the water aerobics class. The plan for tomorrow is to do Amy Dixon’s Give me Ten DVD.
Penny – interesting…thanks so much for the info about your city. I always find it so very interesting.
After exercise stopped at the Salvation Army. I was going to make a donation but the lady asked if I could wait until next week to make it, she doesn’t have people working. There was this one guy who came up saying first that he had a trailer full then when she told him she couldn’t take a trailer full, suddenly he only had two bags and a box. I just told her that I’d wait until next week and she thanked me profusely. I don’t understand it. He kept saying how his MIL died and the landlord wanted the apt. cleaned out. Usually you get apts until the end of the month. Do you mean to tell me that he couldn’t have waited a few days to bring it?
But score….I got a two piece wool set for 99cents. The skirt doesn’t fit me, I’ll just redonate that. But I like the jacket. For 99 cents, I can live with that price. It’s a nice wool set.
Okie – what is IR?
Katla – thank you for your concern. Right now it’s just cloudy out, sometimes the sun peeks out. A bit breezy but not bad. They’re not calling for a lot of rain. We’re pretty far inland, at the foothills of the mountains. We live in Newton. Check the weather channel. The highest the winds (right now) are predicted to get is 29 mph When the rain hits the mountains in TN, it usually breaks up and then reforms around the Winston-Salem area. So many times we don’t even get any rain. But we’ll get some, just not that much. I’m more concerned about DJ
I’m 64% extroverted (that’s very true), 58% observant (not sure about that one), 75% feeling (that’s true), 67% judging (I would have thought it’d be lower), 71% turbulent. I’m an ESFJ-T

Kim: I would love to get your pumpkin chili recipe. Do you share?
I’m watching the weather channel and seeing the flooding in North Carolina. I hope that Michele and those in her area are safe and well. I just saw people rescuing dogs. It reminded me of the floods in Texas, and all the pets and livestock that were affected there.

Rori - Thanks SO much for the bone broth recipe! Now if I can find a spot on my crowded counter … !
Judi in MD - I hope you and all the rest in the east coast are staying safe, warm, and dry. Your fur friends too! I know mine hate the sound of hard rain on the acrylic sun porch roof!
Karen in VA - your grandson sounds like a really fun boy, even with the issues. I’ve enjoyed all of mine growing up. So far Nick, the one who has autism, is 6, and the last. I have a step Great-granddaughter who just began Kindergarten, but she’s 100 miles away! 😔
Barbara on S OR Coast - Far fro Trader Joe’s? Heaven help you! One of the dieters’ best friends! Your location on the hills above the coast sounds dreamy, though.
Barbie from NW WA - have you tried audiobooks? I get two a month from Audible.com, but many libraries have them free! I use them when commuting, on long stretches w/o much scenery on road trips, and I set a ½-hr sleep timer. Sometimes I’m even lazy, and listen during my cup of coffee in the morning, but then I’ve always been a bookworm. I have early wet macular degeneration in my right eye, so it’s easier on them to listen, and I find it very satisfying. I especially like the “Outlander” series by Diana Gabaldon and prefer “Game of Thrones” on audio rather than the tv. (Except I love Peter Dinklage as Tyrion and Ser Jorah Mormont so much that I watch anyway!)
Michele in NC - I was sad to think of the poor dog. I wonder if they evacuated and left him. If you’re able, and that happens again, there are pet rescue groups who will often come puck this older pets up and find someone to foster them. I know of several in our area.
Sounds like you have all your preparations well in hand so I do hope things go easy on you.
Rye - your Kidd Kirby is precious. I know a woman who is INTJ. She’s fascinating - an extremely gifted artist and musician and vegan gourmet cook who is perennially unsure that she’s “doing it right”, even with very professional praise for her work in all those fields. I am her purging opposite, an ENTP. We have great talks!
Penny in Norway - Wow! I have a couple of good friends who were born above the circle up there. They’ve never mentioned Polar bears when they were growing up. Does it depend on your nearness to the ocean? Oh duh! Of course it does! They eat seals, etc, don’t they?
Kudos on your better oxygen uptake! You mention being an old gal. I’m 65! Is there hope for me after my gastric bypass, do you think?
Carol in GA - interesting. My life is totally out there. The other people in my Bariatric Surgery support group we’re astonished that I’d posted my decision on Facebook! I was puzzled as to why anyone wouldn’t!
I too dislike pumpkin in all other forms than pie! Given that I live breads and cakes I’m surprised at my total shuddering lack of enthusiasm, but there it is.
Okie Woman - I just loathe Johnson grass. It’s found a safe harbor mixed in with my lavender. I can’t pull it up, because the lavender comes with it, and the lavender can’t quite crowd it out. We’re at a stand-off. Guess it’s pistols at high noon next!
Machka - Oh my! I had no idea the wind was so strong for Monghkut! That sounds truly terrifying! I hope it won’t be as devastating as they fear!
Having it head so strongly into Hong King reminds me of the storm scene from a book by the fellow who wrote “Shogun”. I believe it was called “Tai-Pan”. The storm description is pretty terrifying. I believe a lot of his works have many elements on fact in them.
Grandmallue - Ugh indeed! Hope all is well after the next test.
JazzyPDX - Your photos make me want to start bellowing “Ih, What a Beautiful Mornin’!” at the top of my lungs, thus ruining said morning completely!
I’m really beginning to get excited about my surgery. I wish I had a date! Folks who call this “the easy way out” have no idea what adjustments and changes we must ready ourselves for. For most of us in my support group it was/is the last best hope for success after having tried almost literally everything else.
Whatever sort of Hurricane or typhoon you’re facing in your life, I hope the waters are calmer soon!

There are snake catchers ... people whose job it is to catch and relocate snakes (or who are just good at it) that you ring up.
In this case, apparently they called a snake catcher, but the snake didn't want to be caught so it zipped up into the S-bend. They had to wait a couple hours for it to come out again, then they called the snake catcher back and he was successful that time.I love pumpkin, the real thing, so pumpkin bread, ravioli, pumpkin chili, pumpkin cheesecake - but not really keen on pumpkin spice everything! I think I might have mentioned this last year, but here in Australia pumpkin is not a sweet thing, it's a vegetable.
So we have pumpkin ravioli, risotto, chili, soup ... all the savoury things. I never did like pumpkin as a sweet thing but I like it as savoury!
One of my favourites is to mix pumpkin soup with TastyBite's Jodhpur Yellow Dal, add a bit of chicken and veggies and serve over brown rice.

Your friends were almost certainly born in mainland Norway. Very few people have been born in Svalbard! At a guess, less than 50 throughout human history.
Svalbard is where we see polar bears. There aren't any in northern Norway - and that's what I appreciate when I'm out jogging. Yes, polar bears eat seals, and yes, you're more likely to see them along the shore or at the edge of the sea ice. But they can show up anywhere in Svalbard. Some people have ignored that risk - with tragic results.
Sure there's hope for you! I'm not quite 65, but 63 is darn close. I also refer you to some of the other "old gals" on this thread who have taken the weight off and kept it off, such as my idols Heather and Barbie. Or take Janetr OKC as a role model. She has undergone bariatric surgery, though I forget exactly which procedure. (Fill us in, Janet?) Check out her happy post back on page 30 with a picture celebrating having re-reached her lowest post-surgery weight.
I went out and picked raspberries yesterday and got a good four pounds despite leaving some of the biggest, most easily accessible ones for my colorblind husband to pick. I said they were big, and here's picture proof.
I also said they were yummy. You'll just have to take my word for that.

Pumpkin I like it. Well, I am not fond of pumpkin pie...but I think baked (like squash), ravioli, soup, cheesecake, & bread are all yummy. I would like to try those savory risotto & lentil/brown rice versions Machka likes. I like pumpkin pie spice for some dishes, but that's not why I like pumpkin.
Lanette I am enjoying your pictures. I posted similar cherry tomato pictures last year! I love looking at before & after results of dehydrating. I know I'm weird. And the other photo of your beautiful bumpy squash...just yesterday my grandson & I were looking at some pictures of rock weathering & erosion, and he said, "that photo would set off (his sister's) trypophobia". I said, "huh?" & so he pulled up the definition of trypophobia, which is "an aversion to the sight of irregular patterns or clusters of small holes, or bumps". Think lotus seedhead, hornet nest, beehive, loofah, Swiss cheese...
Trucker My grandson is a funny boy, though a lot of his humor is dark. He is quirky. Yesterday the schools were closed so we had homeschool at my house to avoid distractions. He usually has something to click or little magnets to play with, but we forgot them. He started picking at his fingers. I said you need a fidget toy, don't you? So we found a few things - some large beads on a string, a bleating goat, a box of tinker toys, & some other things. He fidgets and fiddles and squirms and learns all at the same time. It would be hard for me to learn that way, but it works for him.
Penny OMG those raspberries. So jealous. I can't get berries like that here. Nor rutabagas that don't have wax on them...

Barbie so glad you are feeling better, even gladder you know not to overdo! Looks to me like Bernie would rather have your attention than help with the knitting, and might take matters into his own paws by snatching that ball of yarn...
Machka "sign of spring" Eeek! Glad it wasn't in yours! Copperhead [shudder] Ditto the "hie thee to a doctor" advice, infections in the mouth can poison your whole system. Hoping the super typhoon calms before killing any more people.

Heather thanks for the "Michael Moseley 's TRUST ME I'M A DOCTOR" info. Inspiring and hopeful!

NYKaren ditto, 1 slice pie on Tksgiving, and I do love Barbie's apple pumpkin soup, otherwise pfaugh. Pie spice in my sweet potato anythings, YUM!
Allie bloodwork do-over? yuck! Hoping the re-test shows it was just an oops.
Lanette That winter squash looks weird but sounds tasty!
Sharon it's a 3+ hr drive, most on narrow twisting highway 199, to TJ's but I make it almost every other month... One of my dear friends had WLS and there is nothing "easy way out" about it. Good on you for your commitment, she said it was THE most important part.

This is a fascinating website! You can see wind direction and all sorts of other things. You can see where the big winds are, like Typhoon Mangkhut and the 100 km/h winds down here in Tasmania. The strongest winds have mostly moved off Tasmania now, and we've died down to a relatively calm 40 km/h.
You can move around to other parts of the world, and zoom in, and look at all sorts of other weather information too.

Early morning greetings! Slept poorly due to my falling off the wagon into a dominos pizza! Here's the back story...DH and DD have a lovely little routine of getting dominos pizza together whenever I work late. DH must have been missing her (and the pizza) because he called me as I was coming home from work and asked -- how about a pizza and some netflix tonight? Stunned, I said sure! of course!
We ate on the couch and watched a movie, something we never really do, but salty, (yes even sugary) pizza is a once in a decade kind of thing for me, I guess. The movie was cute (Ali's wedding) and of course the gesture was sweet, but now that's done and dusted. Back on track with beautiful, healthy, whole foods, not processed. Food that fuels me and makes me feel good--not bad--the next day!!!

Good morning all! Happy Saturday! First day off in 11 days and I get to spend the majority of today on my brother in laws boat out on the lake! Woo-hoo! This will probably be one of the last times he is able to get his boat on the lake this year. The weather is getting cooler and they are in the process of selling their home/moving. So the boat will be going into storage in the next couple of weeks.
To all of you introverted ladies: You let this extrovert in long ago! lol It seems I am an ENFJ-A (like Heather I have no idea what the -A stands for) The Protagonist. I agree with pretty much all of the points that they touched on. I DO believe that some of my "ways" are learned; and life kind of forced me into these learned ways. By nature, I am more likely to sit back and let some one else do things. I love a good book. I love time alone. BUT...if I were retired, or had a job where I worked alone, I would most likely ALWAYS choose to be around people as much as possible. I am that woman that will strike up a conversation with you in the grocery line, bathroom, during a walk...Annoying, aren't I?! This little tidbit on the sidebar made me giggle. Insight of the Day: Protagonists are the most likely personality type to make new friends during their travels.
Janet- You look amazing! I also love that cameo ornament that you made! So beautiful!
Pip- You and Kirby!
Karen VA- You (and your grandson) are just amazing! Makes me happy to see him happy with his school/schoolyear! What a difference for him, yes?!
Penny- Love, love, love the view from the hilltop! And those berries are HUGE! Our raspberries have come and gone and they never get that big.
Well, I know there are people I am forgetting to respond to. *sigh* that's what I get for days of just reading and not responding right away! Sending love to all of you! ttfn xoxoxo KJ (Kelly)

Morning ladies - Another extrovert here (with introvert tendencies). I can't find my test to get all the letters, but that much I remember. I took the test once for a company I temped for. They wanted to hire me full time, but I didn't want to work there permanently. The drive from my home was fine for a couple of months, but not for the long term. Anyway, they had me do the test and then tested positive applicants looking for similar results. They liked the way I fit in at their small company (about 8 in the office, 20 in the machine shop). I took the test again years later when I worked at HP and got almost identical results. The lady that I worked most closely with was the complete opposite of me. We always said that she and I made one person, and we said after the test we had proof. She liked to work late, I worked early. Between the two of us, we manned a project almost 24 hours a day for a few months so someone was always available to help with issues.
Michelle - IR is injured reserve (a sports term).

Heather - I went back and found that hyphenation definition after the first four, where so many of us landed as INTJs, because it interested me. The -A is Assertive: "Assertive (-A) individuals are self-assured, even-tempered and resistant to stress. They refuse to worry too much and do not push themselves too hard when it comes to achieving goals." The -T is Turbulent - "Turbulent (-T) individuals are self-conscious and sensitive to stress. They are likely to experience a wide range of emotions and to be success-driven, perfectionistic and eager to improve."
It's been the most eerily correct description of both my strengths and weaknesses that I've ever taken. Trying to take it with a grain of salt, but it's too accurate for my comfort. Even took the test again this morning, just to see where I'd end up and ended up in exactly the same place, as an Architect. Totally agree with the comment that this thread appeals to those of us who are introverted to begin with, sort of a natural selection. For anyone interested, here's the link again to the place where you can take the test, and it's free: https://www.16personalities.com.
Still processing the whole thing, but my memory tells me that once upon a time, the first letter was an "E" for me, and it no longer is. Which just tells me that our personalities change over time. Or our ability to assess ourselves correctly, perhaps.
Edit: Couldn't resist having my husband take it, and he ended up being an INFJ-A, the Advocate, makes sense of why we make a good pair. Not sure two -Ts could end up being a comfortable relationship.
Glad to be home - gained less than a pound on this trip, which will hopefully be gone as the usual water retention goes away. Hoping to actually lose on the next one, but only I can make that happen...
Love y'all,
Lisa, at home in Arkansas 'til tomorrow.

Did Amy Dixon’s Give me 10 DVD. The plan for tomorrow is to do Prevention’s Slim, Strong and Firm DVD.
There was a list of places that had evacuations and nothing was listed for Wake County where Raleigh is located. It’s just cloudy here today. I wish I knew how DJ was
Yea for me! Today was my official weigh-in and I’ve lost the 4 pounds I gained while in St. Kitts. Horray!
Sharon in WA – aren’t these rescue groups mainly for purebred dogs? I have no idea if that dog was a purebred or not. He was so sweet and at least I know that he’s safe. Even if the owner had evacuated and left him behind, you would think that the owner would at least have texted us. Well, at least I know that dog is safe and will most likely get a good home. On another note: I’m sure things’ll go OK during this “hurricane”. It’s been downgraded to just a tropical storm right now. Of course, the papers are sensationalizing things “deadly (we have to use that word) storm”. It’s just cloudy by my house right now.
Penny – forgot to mention before, impressive oxygen uptake!!! I bet those raspberries WERE good. They certainly look it!
I made pumpkin soup because I like pumpkin but that was something I didn’t care for (the soup). If I have extra pumpkin, I’ve even sometimes had it with my breakfast!. I like pumpkin bread, it in cookies, donuts, just about everything else. I just didn’t care for the pumpkin soup
Vince just looked on weather.com and it appears that the rain should start soon. Evidently some roads are closed in Charlotte, but looks like we’re going to get a couple of inches less. Of course, this is a woman so she’s unpredictable. I have no idea why Charlotte roads are closed, it just started raining there. Our maximum winds have dropped down a bit from yesterday’s forecast.
Karen in VA – I’m so impressed that your gs knew “trypophobia”. I had no idea the meaning and I’m MUCH older than he is This storm most likely isn’t going to be all that bad. Mainly because people are prepared. It’s when you aren’t prepared that things are bad.
KJ – one of the things that I liked about NC before we moved here and I was just checking out the area was the fact that people WOULD talk to you in the grocery line. As a matter of fact, the cashier would hold a complete conversation with you. Now in PA where we were, you could have a heart attack in line and the people behind you would be “well, I get to move further up the line”. People here would help you if you had an attack, I question if they would in PA – I doubt it. Perhaps the reason I’m an extrovert but also a “I’ll do it myself, and do it completely, in advance of when it needs to be finished” has to do with the fact that I many times had only myself to depend on when I was growing up.

It's a little bit bland just on its own, so I often use quite a bit of black pepper or curry powder with it. I also don't make it from scratch. I buy it in the can or package.
Also, roast pumpkin with roast chicken is really nice. We do a roast chicken surrounded by potatoes, pumpkin, carrots, onions, etc. that's yummy!!
