Wow @amymoreorless I am super impressed!! Awesome!
Went running with my husband this morning. He has moved on to C210k, so we did his 15 min x 3 run. I was supposed to do a tempo run. We compromised by doing his 15 min repeats but doing the middle one at a faster pace. Afterwards, he said it was hard and he really pushed himself, but he was able to do it! He's making a lot of progress and sticking with it. Before long he'll be leaving me in the dust. He's 8 inches taller than I am so it quickly gets to a point where I just can't move my feet fast enough to keep up! At the moment I am faster than he is, but it will be short lived.😁

Good day , I’m new but want to participate!
I want to run 30 miles this month ( just getting back into running after back injury so if I do to much I’m sore)7 -
@martaindale - that is awesome that you and your husband can run together. Hopefully when he gets faster you can still run easy runs together!
@Efsim - welcome!1 -

Just spat my coffee out at that one! Reminded me of a picture I saw on Facebook the other day:8 -
Very nice run this morning, for once I actually managed to nail slow and steady! Looking forward to Sunday's 7km race, although I think it's going to be pretty hot. As my husband is coming with me we'll be run-walk-running it, and my goal is to come in last. Must remember to wear shorts and take my cap, I'm learning to like having something to keep the weather out of my face :-)
May goal: 55km Run so far: 21.5km5 -
Hey guys. No running, just haven't had any mojo at all. Sigh.10

O.M.G.!! That sign speaks to exactly what I struggle with on a daily basis!
7 soggy miles this morning. You know those patio misters? Well it felt like I was running though one of those for an hour. Could be worse I guess. Didn't feel comfortable at all until mile 6. Just too much on my mind.

That was form the day before the Marathon. Pace as like 13somthing. Not exactly flying
This is a complete guess and probably way off... but looking at that picture, I wonder if Mrs.PastorVincent does the same thing I've caught myself doing. There's something about my posture, like a certain way I'll kind of lean on one side of my hips, and I know it's bad but I especially catch it when I'm standing (like in the kitchen). Anyway I had race pictures where the photographer took multiple shots and I realized I looked great when landing on one foot, but awful and awkward when landing on the other foot. I eventually realized I wasn't keeping my hips straight when running and began to wonder if one side being slightly lower all the time was aggravating my quad injury. On one particular long run, I consciously kept my hips straight and even felt like I was turning one leg out (but looking down it was actually straight instead of my default gait). What a difference it made! My quad hasn't threatened me since making that adjustment, and now I can consciously switch between the bad running posture, and better posture. Still working on it.
Does anyone else do this? Apparently it's common among women, and I've known for years I did it while standing, but only recently caught it in my running.
@shanaber If it doesn't warm up I'm planning to wear sleeves on Sunday, and will put the strap of my water belt through them if I need to take them off, to make sure I don't lose them. But you could stuff them down the side of your running tights too, or tie them around a tank-top shoulder...
I really need to get some sleep.
@polskagirl01 here are lots more pictures- what do you think: https://www.marathonfoto.com/Proofs?PIN=0TME14&LastName=TRIGILI
Haha, maybe not the hip thing, but she sure did look happy in all those pictures! That's the way to run a marathon!6 -

Run at least 4 5k races.
Get under 30:00 and a PR for 5k.
Average at least 135k per month, which would put me over 1,000 miles for the year.
Run the Year Team: Five for Nineteen
Scheduled rest day today. Get to play golf in my Senior League. Back is OK after yesterday's run, so I think I'm good to go. It's very nice to be able to get out of bed without feeling like someone has buried an axe in my lower back.
2019 Races:
4-13 Shine the Light 5K - 31:12 chip time; First Place male 65 and older
6-1 Freedom 5K (Will be off the schedule due to another commitment)
6-30 Strides for Starfish 5K7 -
I had underestimated my need for recovery after Sunday's race, thinking I'd be ready for a recovery run on Tuesday. Hahahahahahaha. That was postponed until yesterday, kept really easy, and felt great. Today was really good too.
I'm going to start training for the HM next week using Hal Higdon's Novice 1 plan. This gives me 3 weeks at the same mileage, but 4 days per week before increasing distance. By starting next week, I have one extra week before the Half... in case life happens, as it often does.
May Miles: 12:27
5/5 - 7.55 Bloomsday (12k race) - official time: 1:32:51
5/8 - 2.30
5/9 - 2.42

@PastorVincent How is Kristi’s knee/toe alignment? Have her walk a few feet and stop, not looking at her feet and see if the feet (or knees) point forward or in or out. I think it looks like crossover sign, (not a doctor). While in the swing forward, She’s lining up the hip/ femur, but the leg isn’t in that line. Could be simply weakness or tightness, or femoral torsion or acetabular version. Not a doctor.
Best wishes.2 -

5/9: 4.55 miles
21.08/75 miles completed
I had another good run this morning. 4.55 miles this time. I've been trying to take it easy. It was nice and cool when I started out. The humidity was 100% though so it was pretty muggy. I was good as long as I kept running. It was when I stopped that I really noticed the humidity. My ankle still feels a bit stiff starting out, but it loosens up and feels fine as I get into the run and it doesn't hurt afterward. Tomorrow and Saturday will be rest days. Sunday will be my last long run before the HM on the 18th. I'm feeling pretty good about it. I'm glad I got the ankle checked out. I think if I hadn't I'd be really stressed about it. But overall I'm feeling really good this week.
2019 races:
2/2/19: Catch the Groundhog Half Marathon - PR 2:15:17
5/18/19: Run for 57th AHC Half Marathon8 -

She has a congenital defect in her knees that cause them to be turned slightly outwards. This of course throws everything off.1 -
No running for me yet, and I skipped strength class yesterday too - it’s frustrating because nothing hurts that bad, it’s just persistent and I really don’t want to make anything worse. I see the PT tomorrow for an initial consult and am hoping to get at least a preliminary plan. If I just need to do certain exercises regularly, then I am happy to pay $$ for someone to yell at me if I don’t do them, because apparently I haven’t been good enough about motivating myself. If it is something more serious, I want to start working on it now because ignoring it is not a plan.
I spent the morning taking my mom to the cardiologist’s office for a med check then running errands. She’s not feeling so good the last couple of weeks since her arrhythmia returned. The doctor had suggested trying to manage her symptoms with medication, trying another cardioversion, or doing an ablation. Mom went with the least obtrusive option (medication) but I’m not confident after today that it’s going to work. I love her and want her to feel better, but it’s so hard to keep her spirits up. She wants to just accept feeling awful all the time, but that’s what got her stuck in the hospital in the first place.
I was exhausted when I got home but tried journaling about how I was feeling and I think it helped. I’d love to run but I know I’d want to push it too hard. So instead I’m going to take a nap. Therapy this afternoon is definitely needed.10 -

Dad went through much the same until about 9 months ago. He was able to be medication managed, and had already had one cardioversion for Atrial fibrillation, with more medication to help it stick...until it didn't. His persistent arrhythmia was waking him up at night and he was symptomatic at rest. I was finally able to talk him into the ablation. 9 months later he is off all but the more essential medications, and his doctor is hoping to start weaning down the blood pressure and anticoagulant medications soon. I hope your mom does well with medication management, but you may want to start planting seeds about ablation ma'am.
Cross training and heat acclimatization began Monday with TRX class, on to Tuesday with heavy leg morning and 2.8 miles of run/walk intervals at lunch time, continued yesterday with PT core circuit and 3 miles at an easy pace during lunch, and today was chest, shoulders and triceps with a 4 mile walk at lunch. Tomorrow is a rest day for running, but have PT core circuit in the morning and will probably walk at lunchtime again.6
