Barbara phones are not allowed on the unit he is on. Not quite sure why, but I tell my son we need to follow their rules. The more cooperative you are the sooner you get to go home.
Trying to figure out how to share cartoon in paper today. A man is sitting drinking his coffee and a man behind him says remember coffee, horse cart. In the picture the man is drinking his coffee and there is the cart and then the horse. I know shared cartoons before. I think I have to do it through Windows 10 and I am on my Chromebook right now.
The cartoon is a good reminder for me right now. I do tend to get ahead of myself. Son right now needs me just to be there for him. When what has happened to him the last two months may hit hard as he recovers.
I think that is true for me too. I ended up with two large bruises one on my arm and one on my side from the handle of the Weber Grill I fell on, a badly skinned knee and a bump on my other leg from my fall and I don't even feel them.
This morning was odd too. I broke the top of my glass blender in the sink, then I tipped over a wind glass and it broke, when I went to the store a plant I bought tipped over and spilled soil all over the belt, and my right blinker went out. The blender replacement I already ordered off the web. (love the internet for things like that), the plant was easy to clean up, the blinker will be fixed on Friday under warranty, and the wine glass can be replaced with another. These things just remind me how fragile things can be and right now I just need to be more careful as I go about my daily life.
My friend whose son was permanently injured has a rehab appointment for him in a couple weeks. I told her I would help her with that because her DH died years ago and she will need help to get him there.

Viv UK, I'm sure this is a chaotic time for you. I am thinking of you and hoping you find strength and comfort.
Barbara AHMOD, I've seen posts about those lovely mazes/mandalas but didn't realize they were near Bandon. Next year, when I'm planning a modest road trip, I'll have to mark that as a possible stop. I imagine walking that has to be a spirit-lifting exercise.
Rebecca, that being said, having a sleeping infant on your chest or shoulder is a time of perfect peace. Your face shows your perfect joy in that baby!
Karen in VA, your Bailey looks like a real delight in those photos. What breed is it that looses their puppy markings like that? Siamese cats are born all white and don't get their markings until they're a few weeks old. I hope Bailey"s health continues as it is or improves a bit.
Heather, I hope folks wear things like those "bling trainers" to my memorial or in my honor someday. I feel happy just looking at them.
Laurie in OK, welcome! You're in the right place. We're a very chatty group, so just chime in where you like! And yes - <insert scream!> For all the things you mentioned. I've been fighting with the same two pounds for two week. Down - then up. Down a little - plateau - down a little again. No, up! Drives me nuts.
Margaret, so glad your DS is progressing! 160# at 6' is on the pretty thin side.
Pip, that injury looks painful because it's so close to the ankle bone. Injuries on or near bone surfaces tend to hurt a lot. I'm glad yours didn't!
Carol in GA, I'm glad you returned to the gym and had someone change your experience to a more positive one.
Rori, it sounds as if you had a great time in Pirtland! Rose Festival can be lovely, if pretty hectic. I'm pleased you got to see the gardens. They're spectacular in full bloom. I have a Lady Banksia pink climber that seems to think it's in heaven. It almost covers my entire tree.
Julie, absolutely! Stress and boredom are two real enemies of healthy eating, but that doesn't mean I have to give in. Fortunately, sometimes my search for a snack turns into "Oh! I really should rearrange this cupboard!" turns into "Gosh, I have to take out all this tradh!" turns into "Now WHERE was I going?" By the time I backtrack my way through this, I'm no longer hungry - I'm exhausted, and it turns into a nap.

A lot of us here do KETO which is close to what you’re doing. No sugar, no wheat and walking ate great starts! KETO = low carbohydrate and high Fats.Rori: What a wonderful photo! I hope we’ll get to see you on a future trip. :flowerforyou:
I would love to get some suggestions and advice from Rita, Mary and others who’ve taken long RV trips. We’ve travelled within a few hundred miles of home but haven’t gone farther than 400 miles from home in the RV so far.
Katla in Beautiful NW Oregon
Katla the only advice I can give you is pick a mileage and/or hours to drive each day and pick a place to stay the night to aim for. We drive 4-6 hours a day with and hour for lunch break. Equals about 300-400 miles a day. Each night I look for a destination to stay at the next night. Could be camping, state park (my preferred) or boondocks at Walmart. Helps to plan the next day’s stop. We don’t make reservations on long trips in case we don’t make the destination in our allowed time. Makes for a much less stressful trip.fanncy0626 wrote: »Tracey - Thanks. I lost most of my weight by CICO. I nearly killed myself doing 4-5 hours of cardio every single day. Then I found weight lifting and shed inches in less then an hour a day. I was introduced to the Kettlebell by my brother. That cut my workout time down to 10-25 minutes a day depending on where I was in the 5 week program. I only recommend Strongfirst program. Progressive overload. Continuous increase in weight or reps... I also do intermittent fasting 19:5 which means I don’t eat for 19 hours then I eat during the 5 hour window of time. I eat really late because I like to eat while watching a little TV at night. I love eating Keto most of the time but have my donut days too. What do you do? Maybe some of the others might want to share their success strategies and exercise.
Mary from Minnesota/Arizona
Mary, I love doing KETO and have occasional cheat days too. I always feel bad physically the day after a cheat but don’t beat myself up about it. I’m allowed treats once in a while! I’ve lost almost 50 pounds since December doing this so will eat this way forever. I also watch CICO, found I lose more when I do. However, the only exercise I get is walking with limited time sitting.

Sharon Bailey is a Coton de Tulear. If you want to see lots of photos of Cotons:
If you want to read about the breed:
Here is a picture of the day we brought Bailey home:
Bailely is hilarious. He vocalizes in an almost human-sounding way, loves learning tricks, and is a true clown. He has brought us so much joy.
Karen in Virginia7 -
Rebecca that photo of your son holding Athena and interacting with the dog is just priceless! I am so glad that you found a way to get to meet her (and see your son and DIL too of course!)
Tracy, the door looks great!
Janet, boy, it's no wonder that your hubby's ex is his ex! What a cow! Hope you can distance yourself from her cattiness.
Ugh, I'm supposed to be cleaning house, but here I am instead..... You ladies are just way more interesting than the vacuum cleaner and bathroom cleaning supplies! lol Oh well, it does need to be done and now that I am caught up, I shall go do it.
Official wi day today, it did not look good, but dinner was VERY salty (it involved saurkraut! YUM!, but oh so salty!) so I think I'll wait and see what the scale has to say tomorrow. Trying to up my water intake today, it seems to be paying off a bit, probably need even more tho!
Hope everyone has a great day!

I had a good cry today, haven’t done that in a while.
I had a long, wonderful conversation with DH about life, haven’t done that in a while either.
Counting my blessings today.

Warning rant ahead!!
I honestly honestly cant handle this job at all anymore.. had 10 min lunch and all he does all day long is come and pile more stuff on us.. we wait on patients at 2 windows, one coming in,one going out, give people paperwork to fill out, scan that into computer, of course either assistants or hygenists bring up people, have to collect the money and schedule if needed, meanwhile answering the phone to schedule patients , but dont forget you ahve to verify all the insurances , have it scanned into patients charts and make sure that the correct deductible and copays are in there daily to collect before the patient is seated. scan lab slips, and order supplies.. and we dont know if he is just trying to pile so much on us that we leave.. but if we leave he will lose the practice, that is why most of our patients come... because of us..
Rant over... I will be at the nursing home most of the day tomorrow and taking the dogs to the groomers,, so will see what I can find for work...
please if any of you are the praying kind keep me in them.. I need it..

Janet ~ I love your hair the way it is!
Brother n Law is back in the hospital. Had bleeding from rectum. Poor DH was going to the hospital to see about him when he got a call from BnL's security that someone had broken into his house. They busted the front door open. DH had to stay until the alarm company came to reset the alarm. DH is only 4 yrs younger than the BnL and this is getting to be too much. Every day there is something!
Carol in GA9 -
Carol Thank you.
I'm so sorry that all of this is going on. It does get to be too much for sure. Big hugs

Oh Janet the glasses y hair are AWESOME!!!
GrandMallie hang in there maybe put in a few job applications somewhere else. Swear some bosses end up with the worst employees wonder why...Umm well simple you ran off the good ones long ago! Hop out of there another employer will appreciate you more.If no fish bite try again later. The insurance companies take up sooo much time every nurse I know even family says it so that won’t poof. They make the insurance hoops ridiculous now if days. My Mother was turned down for chemo y pain management by her Obamacare in her last months on Earth. The Doctors y nurses fought with them daily trying..insurance would budge once or twice but a months worth of pain killers for many months only goes so far.

Did Jillian Michaels Killer Arms and Back DVD. Pretty good workout. The plan for tomorrow is to take the water class.
Went to ceramics last night and picked up my Lucy and Snoopy. Right now I’m working on Linus and Sally.
Rebecca – when I was at Denise’s it was weird. I hear ya, not having what is at your house when cooking, trying to buy only the minimum that you can use and that they would like when you leave, it’s hard. But you will get thru it – I did. Yes, I saw things at Denise’s townhouse that I would never in a million years want. Like the place is three levels. Just wait until PJ starts walking/crawling! They’ll have to put a gate at the top of the stairs. Only the dog they have is BIG and he’ll knock down the gate. Wouldn’t surprise me if his mother buys them a different house.
Evelyn – I’m so sorry about your mom
It FINALLY stopped raining – until tomorrow
JR – my father changed the spelling of our last night for his business! He wasn’t getting his deliveries. Try saying to an operator “s z c z” Trust me, they get it wrong. Your aunt sounds like a hoot – racing in her wheelchair!
Janetr – I think I’d fall over if I ever got that kind of compliment
Made some more chocolate bran muffins. Think I may go to Lowes Hardware and exchange a planter I got for a smaller size then stop at WalMart since it’s right near there. I probably should go to mahjongg since it’s really too cool to go in the pool
Welcome everyone new!
M – big congrats. You certainly have a lot of drive to do so well with all you’re dealing with
Bananas – when I am tempted to get myself out of control, I try to have something on hand that will fill me up at least temporarily. I have these sausage rolls that make me want to drink and drink
Went to Lowes Hardware this morning then WalMart, came home and saw Vince needed milk, looked online and another Lowes had the planter I wanted. First stopped at the green room to give them some uniforms for their costume closet then CVCC for a chin wax, then the other Lowes, on the way back went to mahjongg since it’s cool out and we so we can’t cut the weeds, stopped at WalMart to get pool salt, went to Food Lion on my way home to get soda for Vince and his milk. Now here. He has shooting tonight, I’ll vacuum since we’re having a friend over Thurs. AM.
Rebecca – I did the same thing as Vicki, I’d change the diaper every time there was a hint of blue.
Amber – my inlaws had oranges on trees in their backyard. Nothing beats going out, picking the oranges, then squeezing them and having that orange juice with your breakfast. Nothing
Making butter noodles for Vince for tomorrow
Rita – do you watch Roswell, New Mexico on TV?
NYKaren – what’s the matter?

MORE ON OUR GIRL BULLWINKLE:
I'm so thankful for all of your thoughts and good wishes. the vet said it was aggressive form of cancer. she gave her maybe 1-1/2more months. she's loosing her appetite and kirby said he noticed some blood in her stool. Now she will be eating whatever the hell she wants/. we are buying ice cream tomorrow and other stuff for her. We are not going to put her thru chemo. I've been down this road before with our 1st Rocky He didn't quite make his 11th bday. When his time came, we put him down at home with Bullwinkle and Floyd there so they wouldn't wonder where he went. we will be doing the same with her when it's time. I am going to sleep downstairs with her for the rest of the time she has. we are going to give her some steroid pills that the vet says may give her another month. I knew this day would come. we all know it will. I can't believe it.. it will be an end of an era. rocky and Bullwinkle will be no more. Here I am when there were only two. a young Bullwinkle was a lady bug and rocky was a biker dude. it is a true blessing to have two great dogs, actually son and daughter. Floyd and Yogi will still be with us and that is going to ease our pain. thanks for listening.13 -

KellyKorner: Welcome! Stop by often for encouragement & support. You’ve found an amazing group of women.
Machka: Congrats on a great score for your assignment! 87% is wonderful. WTG!!! :flowerforyou:
Allie: Thanks for your good wishes. I hope to see the kids, too.
Vicki GI NE: I’m in similar circumstances and am making progress, one day at a time. I am focusing on counting calories and moving more. It works for me, but I also had to stop indulging in sweetie-treaties, especially the liquid kind. :ohwell:
Mary from MN/AZ: You have set up a very positive situation and I applaud you.
Snowflake: You and I think alike about mapping out stopping places along the way while travelling and resting as needed. :flowerforyou:
Barbara: Sorry to hear about your iphone battery. I was having trouble with mine and went to an Apple Store. They put it on a super charger of some sort and it is as good as new. No charge for the phone but I did buy some new cables.
Rita: This is gold. Thank you for a great strategy!!! “Katla the only advice I can give you is pick a mileage and/or hours to drive each day and pick a place to stay the night to aim for. I have a committee meeting this evening and it is time to go. Have a great night.

Katla, Thank you, that's very sweet. I'm blushing I'm sure. After being teased from as young as I remember about being fat, chubby, whatever, it's hard for me to accept compliments without feeling embarrassed. My youngest daughter for several years has got after me to "just say thank you" so from the bottom of my heart, thank you

Katla - thanks! It has become routine. I actually found things that come natural to me. I gave up everything that I was doing that caused weight gain and adopted things that worked best for my lifestyle

Have a great night everyone!

Pip, I'm so sorry about Bullwinkle's diagnosis, so hard when we know we're losing our furbabies.....
Michele, thank you but it was my mother in law that passed recently. My mom passed just over 8 years ago, I still miss her.
Janet, hair cut and glasses look great!
Evelyn, Vancouver Island4 -
Pip: Bless you and Winkle. I teared up reading your plans for seeing her transition over the rainbow bridge. How is Bootz?
Janetr: Hair and glasses = Winners!
Katla: Hope you can set plans for visiting your kids.
For the first time since end of April, I did shopped in a grocery store. Trader Joe's is smaller than Walmart, so it wasn't extremely taxing. But by the time I unloaded everything, my feet and ankles were feeling it.
Stay well friends. We can do this.

Wow! 153 posts since I last was on here. I finally caught up.
Viv/UK I’m so sorry to hear about your loss. I’ll pray that the Lord gives you and your family peace in the coming days.
Janet I love your hair and glasses! Very becoming on you!
Heather Those trainers are cool! I’m sure everyone will get a kick out of them!
Lanette Do you have neuropathy? I do and take Gabapentin and use various creams on my feet at night to help with the burning and prickly feelings.
My balance is awful due to it and I trip, run into walls, and can’t walk straight sometimes! People must think I’m drunk! LOL
IPHONE BATTERIES You can order batteries from Amazon. They come with tiny screwdrivers so you can open up the phone. About $10-$15.
I’ve did pretty good today! I try to stay at 1350/cal a day, but I was at 1191 today and had excess from exercise. Even after the chocolate muffin mess up I still lost .8 lbs!
I was kind of tired today and woke up with my right leg hurting. I lifted some boxes in the garage which I shouldn’t have. So I was paying for it! Habitat for Humanity is coming on Thursday to pick up a sofa and an old TV so I was looking for things I would like to give to them. It’s been cool in the mornings so maybe I’ll try again tomorrow.
Have a good evening/morning!

Have any of you done a stair climbing challenge, race, etc.?
https://blog.myfitnesspal.com/the-5-best-stair-climbing-races-to-run/
I climb stairs quite regularly but haven't done it at all competitively, or at a running pace. There are, however, a couple sets of stairs in this area which I think people do take on as a challenge.
