Heather - I had a wonderful time. I am thinking of advertising some of my wedding stuff, but only after this one is done!
Pip - What a beautiful cruise. I am so envious.
I have read and caught up once again, so much going and I'm finding it so hard to keep up with for some reason.
Today I am going to go put a deposit down on the corsages I ordered yesterday, I have to go buy lights for the venue for the wedding and get some groceries.
I really need to get cracking on some more crafting for the wedding and the shower. I didn't sleep well last night so ended up sleeping in today and now my day feels like it's all gone.

Hello ladies!
For the month of May my goals were:
-10 minutes of exercise per day (not including physio)
-daily physio hip strengthening exercises
-intentional meditation 10 minute block
I had to quit hip physio for now, but over the past month or so I have created two sets of exercises, one for upper body and one for core/knees. Both of them are strength plus cardio, and I have been really enjoying them and I try to do each at least twice a week... so I'm happy with how May turned out. I did NOT achieve the 10-min meditation per day, however, so I'll try it again.
My goals for June:
-do 30 min core/knee set at least twice per week
-do 30 min upper body set at least twice per week
-walk outside at least once per week
-move 10 minutes at a time, twice a day (stretching, yoga, cleaning, walking all count as movement)
-meditate in 10 minute blocks once per day
My food is all over the place. Since I started exercising in January I have found food to be difficult. This has been stressful because food hasn't been that difficult for quite a long time (I have an eating disorder, and it was great to be in remission). So I'm taking it slow, trying not to engage in negative self-talk, and also talking to my disordered-eating-informed therapist; so I have a plan.
My main goal is to continue exercising, even if the food is a bit off, because it has helped me SO much! My quality of life has increased a great deal, and while it hasn't helped at all with the scale (in fact, I've gained weight), it has helped in many other ways. My body has definitely changed shape (my clothing fits better) and I can move so much more easily. Daily tasks are not as daunting. I can clip my toenails and give myself a pedicure. I can bend over and pick up things without too much trouble. I can walk up the stairs and not have to sit down and rest. I can move around in bed (ie: turn over) without a problem. I can walk around stores without the aid of a cart or cane. My posture has improved so much! Oh, and I had a lot of issues with one of my shoulders/arms and it is "almost" back to "normal".
It's also really empowering to see strength gains. I started off with 1 & 3 lb weights and am now using 3, 5 and 8 lb weights. I can get the cap off my juice bottle without the aid of a bottle opener; haha! I was also able to help my partner do some things around the house that normally I would not because I was so weak.
In any case, I'm really proud of myself.
Thanks for this group, Barbie - and all you ladies. I know I don't write very much, but I read everyone's posts and try to keep up to the best of my ability... I find you all very inspiring and it really helps on the days that I just am not feeling motivated.
Have a great month!!

Went to dancing tonight. We did lots of turns and twists. On the way home my legs were sooooooooooooo sore and wobbly. Had to take some Ibuprofen.
I really enjoyed the dancing and the new moves and it was fine at the time. DH found it a hard session - too many new things.
I can't go next week because of Ros 's funeral. I've informed the teachers.
Watching the series 63 up. It has followed a group of children from the first one 7 up. Every seven years the series catches up with them. Fascinating. I was 13 when I watched the first one and it made a great impression on me.
Rebecca - kisses for Athena Rose. Heaven!
Much love, Heather UK xxxxxxx4 -

I’ve never been on a cruise. I have a water phobia (can’t go over my head) so not sure I could do it. I swim in the lake but only where I can touch bottom.
Here is a pic of a weird frog that visited me today!

Missed reading here for two days and so much to catch up on--no way I can reply!
All of the shared pictures are great. It is interesting seeing where everyone is--we all have something going on.
Spent most of today in meetings, same scheduled for tomorrow and Thursday. Friday when I am off work--I am at our Church synod assembly (ELCA) and Saturday also. All of the sitting is driving me crazy, but I am moving when I can.

Ketchikan was 86 degrees, THERY abnormal. but it was heaven5

Julia – you look fantastic! Thanks for sharing
M – gorgeous ring
Dana – I really like you in shorter hair. I don’t think you’d look as nice in long hair. You made a good decision, and your hairstylist did a great job. You’re 70???? No way….
Mary – My maintenance calories are 1251. I obtained this number by following the calculations in American Fitness magazine. The Mifflin-St. Jeor. Method: for women 9.99 x wt. + 6.25 x Ht – (4.92 x Age) – 161=RMR (resting metabolic rate). The sterling-Pasmore Equation says Lean Body Mass (lbs) x 13.8 calories = RMR (this calculation is one of the most accurate outside of testing for RMR with machinery because it is individualized based on body composition. In this calculation we multiply by 13.8, which is the amount of calories required to maintain 1 pound of lean muscle mass. Then there is the harris Benedict Formula which says to determine your total daily calories needs, multiply you RMR by the appropriate activity factor sedentary: RMR x 1.2, light activity RMR x 1.375,moderate activity RMR x 1.55, very active RMR x 1.725, extremely active RMR x 1.9. I believe I used the Mifflin-St. Jeor and Harris Benedict Formulas, it was so long ago that I honestly forget.
Pip – you make me feel like I’m on that cruise with you
JR – I really like my air fryer. The biggest problem is that it is so big. But it does cook really well. Baked potatoes come out crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside. I also tried the Instant Pot while I was at Denise’s. Right now I’m thinking that I’d like one for Christmas and I’ll get rid of my pressure cooker (I’ve only had it since my wedding shower over 40 years ago) I have a timer for my crock pot so that it will shut off at the preset time. The timer plugs into the wall and then the crock pot plugs into this. I think Vince got it at WalMart
Speaking of Norway (why did that remind me). Has anyone heard from Penny at the Pole?
Rebecca – Athena Rose is so beautiful
Rita – when I was a little girl, I was at the ocean and the tide pulled me out. I still remember the sick feeling of not being able to touch the bottom and being helpless. To this day I’m VERY uncomfortable in the deep end.

Michele in NC- oh those plugs 🔌 sound like an excellent idea! I could use one for the coffee pot one for crockpot.Im going to tell my Dad research into them..Maybe my Cousin Lonnie can find out faster probably should text them both (3rd Cousin works night shift guarding a court house it keeps his mind off the ghost he thinks is there lol... I think a homeless person sneaking in around closing time cause it seems to happen on bad weather days where he hears chairs moving up stairs to doors shutting he checks finds nothing ..had a job like that a simple security camera caught the guy hiding in machinery then would go about using the gym equipment for free to swimming 🏊🏽♀️ in areas we thought were fully shut down-He had to pay a years fees plus a fine for breaking entering with a little jail time/community service. Lol Lonnie also works with the ones on community service so sure he gave him hell. Until we caught the guy on camera the other employees swore we had a ghost too)
My Airfryers just right for me but can only cook 2 cheese sandwiches at a time lol hubby eats 3 baby 1.So gets like the Hunger Games movie around here waiting for them to cook. If I fit 4 they never cook enough the cheese in the middles that is. I use wheat bread,Swiss cheese, shredded mixed cheddar,a tiny bit of margarine turn it on for 6-9minutes depending on cheese/bread thickness
Break in the storm so catching up now bedtime for baby y me.

Loving all the photos!
Pip: You make me want to go right to the cruise booking site. Isn't the customer service incredible? What was your favorite meal on the trip?
Dana: Love the gardenia!
Amber: JR looks like a joyful boy. I'm in awe of how you are handling having this little bundle of energy in your life.
Thank you all for the kind prayers and suggestions regarding my DH's condition. Since the sheriff episode, all has been calm and manageable. I am watching him like a hawk and making sure he doesn't get over tired or over hungry. His 75th birthday is Friday, and we are going to spend it with friends in Portland beginning on Thursday. Margie and I have known each other since 3rd grade, and her husband, Steve, and my DH have been friends since the first time they met. Steve's birthday is two days before DH's, so Margie is hosting a festive dinner. The rest of the weekend there are 4 former colleagues that are coming downtown to my hotel where I will basically hold court because I'm in no shape to be walking around busy city streets.
I think I tweaked the left ankle when the tip of the big ugly boot got caught under a kitchen cabinet. Icing and elevating as I write this. Tomorrow is my ortho appointment, and can't wait to see how the fractures look.
Stay well. Keep moving. We can do this.

It’s a team effort for sure Rori. My mother-in-law at her age came out stayed with us for 6months Of surgery bedrest she took baby night shifts! I took day shifts plus breast pumping 3weeks straight to get him over the jaundice Docs orders they say it heals a Csection better to breast feed some with the formula. Hubby took bath time shifts so we could bathe y he would take over night shift y day shifts when he could so we could crash out. My Daughter was busy with school/Navy she’s not wanting children someday not the mothering kind. She’s considering adopting a teenager or preteen when she’s 40-50 years old someday. 17-30’s is Navy still so career 1st.
After JR got too big mother-in-law can’t watch him even for me to visit a doctor. So I take all night shifts y Day.Hubby runs home ASAP jumps in to help, bath time,y even takes him for 1-2hrs to a park once a week so I can get a good bath grooming done.If hubby can leave late for work every blue moon he takes JR to the table with him. We make sure theirs tons of toys to homemade toys to occupy him. Relatives take turns talking to JR on the cell phone so I can cook!
Amber
JRs finally asleep I’m up finishing housekeeping for the day. Made a weeks worth of tuna y boiled eggs 🥚.2 -
