@exermom ... why are you stringing popcorn? I've only heard of doing that at Christmas, for the tree.

@cityjaneLondon ... have you tried using MS Publisher to get the right book size? I haven't explored it fully but I know it's got a lot of templates.

@kevrit ... a number of years ago, I discovered that I have to be careful with magnesium. I started taking it for period cramps and one tablet each day helped somewhat. So if one is good, more must be better ... right? And then I missed a day of work because I couldn't move more than a few feet away from my toilet. One is good. More is not!!

I hope they can track down your issues.

Welcome Tina, Donna and other newbies. :)

Didn't take an umbrella with me and got soaked dropping off Bea at the nursery. Managed to do a few chores on the way home, including getting a new soda stream cylinder, but I also bought half a loaf of my favourite Danish seed bread. :o I succumbed to one small slice before I stashed it in the freezer. >:) I also ate a huge fresh fig, but I don't feel bad about that.
I will have to cut back on lunch as I have only done a bit of walking. Will have to get on the rower after lunch.
Luckily, dinner is sea bass with broccoli and carrot and rutabaga mash.

The fact that my morning was thrown out of routine and that I got soaked while I was out has made the urge to eat very strong. I'm in 'I deserve it' mode. :#:/ Now I have been on this thread for so long, at least I can recognise it for what it is. My first line of attack is to do some floor exercises in front of the TV I am indulging myself with. I have healthy options available for lunch, although, in reality, I have already eaten lunch! :p
If DH were here, the problem would not arise. Can't keep raiding the fridge with him sitting nearby!

    Much love, Heather UK XXXXXXXX

Machka What perfect weather this week! It's a great time for no appointments. Maybe you can enjoy some time in between your busy schedule to enjoy the nice weather.
    Luci in WNC

I've been walking a lot ... between work and uni. Tuesdays and Wednesdays are really busy days for me. However, I might be able to arrange things to get a recreational walk tomorrow or Friday.

Oh yes, my husband and I went for a casual short walk when I got home today. That was nice. :)

He struggles with fatigue because of the brain injury but I try to get him out for a walk or something just about every day. Today's short walk was 1.1 km ... plus he walks to the bus stop to see me off in the morning and pick me up in the evenings.

Today hit 21C, but was quite windy, so I was wearing long pants ... which were a bit too warm. About 2 minutes after I got home, I was into comfy clothes and bare feet. It's bare feet time again!! WooHoo!! Or at least today is.

Machka in Oz Good luck on your presentation tomorrow!
    Rho (south of PDX)

    Thanks!

I think it went all right. We had to present our "product" ... the thing we're developing in this course. The first two presentations presented impressive products and in an impressive way so that was slightly intimidating, but I think my product and presentation held their own with the rest of the class. :)

Now I've got to put the PowerPoint presentation into a Word document, throw some research at it, finesse my product a bit and submit it by Friday night at 11:55 pm.

And then I've got a growing list of other things I want/need to do this coming weekend!!!

    Good morning all! Happy Wednesday!
Lynda- You have probably gotten the blueberry stain taken care of; but just in case...years ago, one of my own kids wrote on my leather couch with an ink pen. The couch was a caramel colored butter suede- ink was black. We managed to get it out with a cotton ball soaked in rubbing alcohol and a blow dryer. Time consuming (especially in my case because she was a very enthusiastic scribbler). I am not sure if there is a leather cleaning product out there that could help you. Leather is tough to get stains out of.
Machka- My hubby ran into that problem taking magnesium with his RA meds. He doesn't take it anymore. He said he moves too slow to be able to run to the bathroom.
Lisa- Good news on the visit with the kids! Yep, with that many bodies in the house, two days would be enough! lol
Heather- I was thinking, "How fun! Grandma and Bea on the bus to school!" but then started wondering, what do the kids call you? Grandma? Grams? Granny? Gigi?

Well, time to make some pancakes. Protein shake for me. ttfn xoxoxo KJ (Kelly)

Two flies got in my house last night and I can see them living it up in the kitchen. Arghh. I hate flies! They will soon meet their demise.

    Beth near Buffalo

    You'd love Australia then!!

The Australian Wave is a distinctive waving hand motion in front of the face ... brushing the flies away!

And that lovely little cabin in the bush where I lived for my first year in Australia ... I moved there in the winter, so it wasn't too bad for flies, but come summer, the drone of the flock of flies flying back and forth and back and forth across the ceiling was so loud sometimes I could hardly hear myself think.

There aren't quite as many down here in Tassie as there are on the mainland, but because windows here don't usually have screens and because we throw open windows and doors in the summer, there will inevitably be flies, bees, wasps and whatnot flying in and out.

Insects are a way of life down here.

Did an interval party DVD. I like it, I feel I got a good workout. It wasn’t dancy-dancy and the cuing was good. The plan for tomorrow is to do Gin Miller’s Simply Endurance DVD.

We are going to the Newcomer general meeting today. This is the second time I’ve gone to one since April and it feels really good to not be limited to being there all the time. Afterwards, I’m hoping to go to a Salvation Army store that a lot of people at ceramics are talking about. My throat has been feeling scratchy, so I made some tea with this teabag called “throat coat”. No, I’m not crazy. After I made the tea, I put ice cubes in it so it’s like iced tea.

Marianne WV – welcome! How wonderful that you are cancer free

M – yes, I’m stringing popcorn for our Christmas tree. Why so early, you ask? Because I’m lazy, that’s the reason. See, when you string it, pieces of the popcorn break off. If I string it in the house, I have to clean up. If I string it on our deck, the birds and mother nature clean up. Plus…by doing it now it isn’t real windy outside. When it’s windy the thread gets tangled up.

KJ – we have a leather couch and there’s some discoloration on it. We’re thinking that it’s from the sunscreen that I use. I’m going to try the alcohol/blowdryer on it. Can’t hurt, that’s for sure

Does it keep that long? I'm imagining it going quite stale by Christmas.

I've never strung popcorn but thought it was something people did one or two days before Christmas.

M - yes, the popcorn keeps that long. When I had my first place years and years ago (before I was married, and I've been married over 40 years, we were engaged for 5 before then), I was so broke that I couldn't even afford garland so I strung popcorn. I thought it looked really neat so I've been doing that ever since. If I only did it one or two days before Christmas, I'd never have enough strung for a tree.
