I use a website that shows a weighted moving average trend. It's called Trendweight (https://trendweight.com/)
    ...
I also use a site called Weight Grapher (http://www.weightgrapher.com/). One thing I like about THAT site, and that fits really well with this discussion, is that it shows your current trend and your trend from one month ago. This tool is primarily for women as it can help be less concerned with regular monthly fluctuations.

Thanks for that, but I also use trendweight (connected to my withings scale) but the graph doesn't look like yours. Yours looks like it has curve fitting rather than a trailing average.

What does YOURS look like? Because I can't imagine how it would be different since it's the same web page. It does look slightly different if you zoom in to three months or less; it gives an estimate for the future.

The site uses a weighted moving average. It is described at https://trendweight.com/help, and they also link to Hacker's Diet.

My all time (since Jan 1), looks like this:
    xe1cji73uu5g.png
It typically lags by 1.5 to 2kg. I looked through the settings and can't see anything that makes it look like yours.

When you have six months of data, it may look different.

When you get closer to your goal, or when you start to have bigger weight spikes OVER the trend line, it will start to look different.

That "green zone" towards the bottom was when I was close or in my goal range; that website assigns a goal range of +/- 2.5 pounds (about a kilo). I never found any way to alter that; my maintenance ranges are an "ideal" range that is +/- three pounds and an "absolute" range that is +/- five pounds.

Thanks for the explanation. I look forward to spiking above the line (sort of!).

    Just checking in.

I'm not doing so hot in March. I suppose my main mini-goal, at this point, is to get back to starting weight.

I hope I don't jinx it by saying this, but I really DO think I've finally FINALLY passed over the hump on what I called my "Big Oops" that started in October and continued until some time in February. Five months of disappointment with a little break in the middle, then more disappointment and now maybe (MAYBE) a reprieve.

    3ah11cjwpf5v.png

The scary part is I had my first gain when the pandemic started a year ago; it lasted for a couple months from March through May before coming back down by September and then.....

    jquxksydg7xm.png

Maybe (MAYBE) I've got this back under control again. Maybe.

    YOU are doing GREAT!

The say 5% loss results in health benefits.
10 % yields significant health benefits!

    You’ve lost 18.8+ %. Go YOU 💪🏻🏅😁

202.4 lbs will be 20 PERCENT!!

    3lbs x 3,500 calories/pound 10,500
    Divided by 7 months is 1,500 cals/month
Or a decrease of 50 calories per day or an increase of 50 calories of exercise burn or a combo.

AND you will hit January 1, 2022 at 20% down!!! WhooHoo!

    You’ve got this!!!

Thanks for the compliment and support. I am working so hard at this right now. Last summer I gained over 4 pounds during the summer. (Covid 19 shut-in?) So I am trying hard not to let that happen again in 2021.

    Of course @DeepWoodslady!
We are here for each other.

I ALSO gain over the hot months. I think I’ve figured it out:
    1. I retain more water.
    2. I love less because I need to stay out of high UV sun & that occurs over a much larger part of the day.
    3. Exercising in heat is much less enjoyable to me - in part because I have to be all covered up (on meds that create higher risk of skin cancer.) I recently got some SPF 50+ Long sleeved shirts. I might look for some pants...

But here’s the key thing I realized: my weight dropped off when the colder weather arrives end of September.

So maybe we both just work to maintain until
    The cold weather?! ❄️⛷⛄️

My best time to lose weight, curiously, is October to April

    My Best
