LOL Heather.
Well, the governor finally shut it all down today, at about 11:48 a.m. She was like, "I suggested everyone stay home. Then I asked everyone to stay home. And this weekend, thousands of you went to the beach! So now, I am ordering you to stay home." My boys badly needed haircuts, and we were discussing yesterday if we would risk it, put up with it, or have barber mom take care of it. Even before the governor's edict today, we had decided not to risk it, so I watched youtube videos last night on how to cut boys/mens hair. Lol Two boys down, and they look sooo much better. It's not perfect, but they are satisfied. I called it their "Covid haircut." We won't be forgetting that for a while. Lol My youngest said, "After a year of this, you'll be pretty good at it." Lord help us.
We are doing okay.
Karen in VA -- our dog's kidney blood test came back fine, so they said to continue the treatment as we have been giving him, but this weekend, he has started coughing much more. Was it the diuretic you tweaked to get the coughing to ease up? He is currently taking half a pill twice a day, and I was thinking of increasing one of those halves to a whole.
My oldest and youngest haven't left the house (except to work in the yard or walk the dog) in 8 days. I am super proud of them. My middle son and I haven't left since Friday. Hubby has had to run out quickly for this or that (he hit a car when we were picking up my son on Friday, so he is dealing with the body shop), but other than those quick trips, we are all being good. My mom is working on week five of self-isolation, but her spirits are good.
I have been stress eating, however, and I'm not happy about that.
Better get back to work. This work day has been crazy busy.

Regarding online classes ...
One of my classes allows me to do the work on my own time, except that assignments are due on certain days.
The other class sends out an online lecture at the beginning of the week, which we have to watch, and then on a particular day we have an interactive workshop. My interactive workshop is on Wednesday mornings.
Regarding the length of time this situation could last ...
They are estimating that the vaccine won't be available for 12-18 months. That means the virus could keep doing its rounds till then. It is, apparently, coming back into China now that people who fled are returning.
That doesn't mean we have to remain in isolation for 12-18 months, but we will have to practice hygiene, social distancing, and businesses may have to change the way that they operate.
They are estimating that the peak of the virus should be through in about 6 months. Therefore, more strict measures will be in place for 6 months. Places will be closed. There will be limits on the number of people who can gather. And so on. However, this also does not mean we have to remain in isolation for the whole time. Some shops will be open so we can go shopping with caution. We can go outside for walks, bicycle rides, hikes etc. as long as we maintain distance between ourselves and others. In fact it's good to be moving around outside in the sunshine and fresh air.
But we do have to remain really vigilant about hygiene and social distancing.
And then there is the 2-8 weeks of either quarantine or self-isolation. That's why we stock up ... for that time period.
Sorry about the size of this image, but it helps explain the difference.

A friend of mine got me back into meditation. It's a great way to deal with anxiety and isolation. It just makes your mind calmer. I like lying down, with slow chimes music. Cheap and low calorie!

I give up. There’s a fault in my BOLD items somewhere. Sorry.
I'm on page 80. Update: Daughter did grocery run! Even found some tp [\b] Thank you so much for all your concern! You are all SO sweet - the foods and quantities I mentioned were just metaphorical! I have enough food for sure. Combinations are odd sometimes, but Hey! Thanks again for all your concern! 🥰 I’m touched.
Luci, [\b]that sounds VERY dangerous to me! I hope all is ok today!
Machka, [\b]your beach looks so tranquil. I could just sit on a log or a rock (or on the sand as long as there’s either help or no one to watch my floundering to get to my feet!) and listen to the lap and gurgle and awash. And watch the sky.
Michelle [\b]I remember polio epedemics too well. Every year another kid coming to school with leg braces and crutches. Every year one or two not coming back. I had a light case which left my left leg a bit clumsy when I was three. I was terrified. Parents weren’t allowed in with you then. Horrifying. We lost three kids in about a 4-block area one year when it came early and they were exposed. Good parents didn’t let kids go to pools or movies or dime stores or on busses. I can’t imagine how parents without cars coped. Of course almost everyone had stores by neighborhood then. Corner groceries, pharmacies, meat markets. You didn’t need to leave your neighborhood for much.
Barbara AHMOD[\b] a thank you SO much for your down-to-earth tell-it-like-it-is posts. Someday I’d love to meet you on one of my Oregon coastal forays.
SuziQ in SFL, [\b] thank you and all the others finding links and resources. I will copy the Seattle ones to send to friends. I’m actually about a total of 20 miles from Seattle in far Eastside suburban area, but almost past it. Issaquah is a delightful town that has wonderful services for those more needy than I at present. It’s a haven for retirees, techies and a few sports stars. Some of our Seahawks live not far away, as well as Mariner baseball talent having summer homes here and winter in AZ.
Love RoTel, BTW and use it or canned green chilis a lot.
Julie(?) in France[\b], it’s interesting to hear from someone who is in a large city in Europe. I have hopes we may also hear from Penny(?) in Svalbard. I understand tourism may pose a problem there, as well as needing boat and air travel to get off island for anything.
And I would do the same for you, Allie.[\b] Stay well!
Kymarai,[\b] What lovely photos! Can you identify what the ones besides daffodils are? Here in Washington State all voting is by mail with prepaid postage. I’m proud of our state for getting this done a while ago! I hope it’s the wave of the future.
I sat in a polling booth when little and watched mom mark her ballot for Dewey! Boy, was that ever a shock to them. They’d be rolling in their graves now to see how politics in general and elections in particular have changed. Paper ballots all their lives, and in person except for invalids and servicemen, mostly.
I’m on page 81 so I’ll close for now, but gratitude #1 is having had a Depression Era MIL and DH. And my years on a farm as an adult. I learned a lot.
One of the things I’m seeing change is people asking for that information and using it to reduce waste and be more serf-sufficient.

Beth – the counselor doesn’t want to clean “because of the germs” but it’s OK for you? I totally get why you want to quit.
Bananas – I KNEW those long CVS receipts would come in handy one day…lol
You know, in one sense I think Jess likes staying here. She doesn’t have to think about what she’s going to have to eat for dinner. Just say “what’s for dinner” and mom takes care of it. Well, what I do is cook something, portion it out, freeze it, then decide what to have and take the right containers out of the freezer. I usually do one week at a time. Admitted, sometimes I have to adjust (like if we decide to go out or whatever), but for the most part I try to keep to what I’ve planned to have.
Went to the post office, then the ATM at the bank, then Vince needed to pick up a prescription so I walked the aisles of WM just to see what they had. To be honest, I’m a bit surprised that by now they haven’t restocked some of the things. It looks like they haven’t restocked anything. This just fuels the “hoarding” mindset. Then the dollar store, I wanted to get Easter cards for everyone. I also got some ammonia so we can wash the windows one day soon. Then home. Tomorrow he wants to go to PetSmart to get Lexi’s food and I’ll go to Aldi.
Made a pork tenderloin in the IP. It came out quite juicy. Next I’m going to attempt salmon in the IP. Never did that. Update: it came out quite juicy. Wish Vince likes spices, I thought it really needed a little “something”. Question: if you use the IP, how do you get the trivet out after the meats cook? The trivet is so hot.
When we went to the store, gas was $1.66. Boy, they’re practically GIVING this stuff away. Too bad we can only use so much.
My hangers came in! I x-stitched both of these lapquilts. The first one I quilted. Hand quilted which I absolutely HATE. So I had someone quilt the second one for me.
Jess just said that IS has cancelled graduation.
Allie – thanks for posting about Joann’s Fabrics. Wonder if the one by me is doing that? Something else I can while being in the house. I’ve done 2 or the 3 diamond dotz that I’d planned to do. Either I’m getting very good at this or I’m very bored.
SuziQ – web designer??? Groan!

And this is similar to our Gratitude Calendar that we've done in Novembers.
Coping Calendar: Keep Calm. Stay Wise. Be Kind.1. Make a plan to help you keep calm and stay in contact.
Part of my plan is to stay home more days each week. I'm getting stuff done, spending time with my husband, and avoiding the crowds.
Today I'm particularly happy because I've been able to spend the whole day at home getting a bit of extra rest, listening to classical music on ABC, and working on my uni homework while my husband has been busy doing stuff in the kitchen.
In a hour and a half or so, I'll go downstairs to exercise. We would go outside, but it has been a rainy day so we've been cozy inside.
2. Enjoy washing your hands. Remember all they do for you.
They do a lot of typing ...which reminds me that I should also wipe down my keyboard more regularly. But I do actually like washing my hands. With my hot flashes, and with exercise, my hands are often quite damp. Washing with soap dries them up a little.
Last weekend I also did my nails with 5 different pastel colours of gel nailpolish.
3. Write down 10 things you feel grateful for and why.
10 Things
1. My comfortable home with its garden and view of the bay.
2. My husband and the fact that, despite the severity of his brain injury, he has made a "remarkable recovery".
3. The support of my parents even over long distances.
4. University ... which is keeping me occupied.
5. Work ... which is keeping me occupied.
6. Cycling ... which keeps me fit.
7. Music ... which I've been listening to a lot.
8. Internet ... with which I keep connected.
9. New audio visual system which is keeping us entertained.
10. God ... who is still in control.
4. Stay hydrated, eat healthy food, and boost your immune system.
I have to drink a lot of water to keep my kidneys in good shape. I do try to eat a fairly healthy diet as well.
5. Get active. Even if you're stuck indoors, move and stretch.
Absolutely!! Every day! On that note, I'm up to 352 flights of stairs in March. Each flight is 20 stairs.

Hospitals in many areas new rules is only Doctors,Nurses,y Mama in delivery rooms due to risk of deadly infection to a newborn.Fathers can call hospitals ask in advance but may be told upon arrival take a temp sent home missing the birth. It’s not about our needs right now it’s about safety of newborns. So tell them to suck it up buttercup pack a bag for the Moms stay cause many hospitals will not allow anyone to bring you stuff. Important even if a week pregnant now to have a bag in case you get the virus to early delivery or even for them to stop preterm labors.
Construction in many cities is still seen as important as a grocery store 🏬 due to the fact if a roof leaks a roofer has to patch it for the police department. An electrician still has to fix wires in a hospital for ventilators. Concrete worker to carpenter still has to erect new Hospitals 🏥 to put in X-ray room for them. Hubby has a few fixing Hospital 🏥 jobs coming up without him y his electrician friend they wouldn’t be able to add a new electrical system in a room being turned into a new quarantine room to new wheel chair ramps . Every city is different but city can tell you which job is still open.
Emergency personnel is still needed to grocery stores. Things like clothing stores to churches shut down.

Don't know how much longer I'll be working from work on a regular basis, so I picked up a few things. My husband wants preserving jars!! So I got him a bunch. Plus another 12-pack of TP, a box of tissues, and some vitamins to top up my supply.
And I went for a walk along the waterfront, away from people. It's nice out there at lunches now ... not nearly so many people!

We’re staying home because it is a smart thing to do. Our governor has requested that everyone but first responders stay home. There is an old blessing/curse, “May you live in interesting times.” I suspect that billions of people would vote for boring & safe.

After getting over feeling rather annoyed at WalMart for taking the liberty of notifying me that I am "elderly", I was really quite pleased that they will be setting aside time for us elderly people to get our shopping done without being forced to endure the wolf whistles and such from those young 50 yo men. I was quite sure I would be carded as NO ONE would believe me to be elderly, well that was quickly avoided when I saw the time time slot 6 am - 7 am, that's in the MORNING folks, I'll look 95 yo and now the 60 yo young men will be fighting over who gets to push me in my wheelchair.
But better than that, this happened this morning, great grandson Jaxx arrived, 7# 4 oz,
Love you my friends, be careful and distant
Janetr OKC18 -
I've recently read that several grocery stores in Oregon are planning early morning shopping hours for seniors. Safeway, Albertson's & Fred Meyer have been mentioned. (These three stores are under one ownership if I understand it correctly.) There may be others as well. I can't help but wonder whether any of them has TP.
Katla, who loves reading books from my own shelves and from Library to Go.3 -
Kymarai, try “Pressure Luck Cooking”. He has everything from the very basics on, and he tells you great tips along the way. You can stop his videos then start again, and he’s a blast.
Heather, I just adore the Sticky Glitter analogy. I have a very few lace tops that have glitter. Fortunately they’ve mostly shed all that isn’t firmly adhered. Mostly.
Oh my! Holding my sides over your cartoon! Fortunately incision doesn’t hurt anymore - except diving cat!
Machka - I love the brief picture essay. I have one rose bush that produces those true long-stemmed beauties. I love to cut them for my taller narrow vases and stagger the lengths just right, fill in w sprays of smaller flowers. So peaceful all around in your pictures!
Thank you for the visual on the meaning of terms re quarantine et al.
Lisa in AR, It’s great to hear your input again. I grew up rather well-to-do, but when I fled home to br independent at age 21 I discovered thrift, at least sort of. Then I married poor and learned more, lived w an abuser who enforced cashlessness on me, then raised three children on my own. By then we weren’t DIRT poor, but my kids’ school clothes came from thrift stores until the older ones were early teens. Even then, it was $100 per kid per year, and you decided what you wanted new, and what you were willing to buy cheap. My girls learned a lot.The eldest even though fairly well off is thrifty. She probably didn’t need to do any more shopping. The middle one has 1 child left at home, but they’re still recovering from having 4 teen boys at once. They’re in essential services like my first. My third my heart is breaking for. She worked until today in an injury law firm. All courts here are closed and her services least needed as of today’s lock down order in Washington State. Her insurance expires at the end of this month. She is the one with the autistic son. No school, no therapy appointments they can afford - there might be some covered services through the shut-down schools. I will not be working at the tax office, I can bet. This is a pretty strict lock-down, and with the new tax deadlines I may end up working some post April 15th - if I ever get my damned test results back, that is. I was tested the 16th of March. They’re now saying up to 9 days for results. I’m pretty certain I haven’t had it, but not knowing puts my youngest out of the employment market anyway, because she’s now my caregiver/grocery shopper and has to self-quarantine until I’m sure.
Looking back, that was a rant! I’m putting it in Spoiler purdah.
Michele NC! I just love your kitty hanging! Such lovely color and fabric choices!
Second and last post today. I thought I’d kept more up-to-date. I now have milk, cut up fruit, cottage cheese, salads, lunch meat, bread, soda (I have a serious Coke Zero problem!) eggs, cheese, beans, rice, tuna, canned chicken, tp, and more soups, as well as lots of Tasty Bite’s great Indian one serving pouches in great variety. I’m so happy!
I’m touched nearly to tears at your worry and concern! I live you all to bits. As the old Civil War era song went at the beginning, “When this cruel war is over … “ I will travel anew and perhaps see a few of you along the way. I’m trying to figure out how to cancel my Oaxaca MExico trip. It should be much more intuitive than it is.
Sharon, Once Again!5 -
Hi Sharon! Good to see you! Sorry about your daughter's job worries. So many of us are worried about our children in this new world. None of our four are in any way secure and one is completely out of a job.
Over here, at the moment, salaried employees are getting 80% of their salary from the government, but that can't go on for ever! Self employed zilch at the moment. They are trying to organise something.
Everything has changed.
My spirits are good at the moment. The kids were so funny yesterday on their first day of home schooling, but I'm sure that enthusiasm will wane. I have set them a dance challenge for today as they have school set work to do. Bea is the difficult one, though she drew a beautiful butterfly to show us yesterday. My son is setting up Skype on his computer (it used to be on my DDIL'S) as my phone is tiny for seeing much on WhatsApp video. My tablet does Skype. They use Facetime, but I'm on Android. I consider myself blessed to have this amazing facility for keeping in touch.
Our restrictions have ramped up almost to Italian levels. We can still go out for local walks, so the seafront is ok for us, but not for tourists. No meetings of more than 2 distancing people, unless you already live together. We don't need a permit like they do.
Tonight I'm going to cook the pig's cheeks in the IP. I might use beer to cook them in. I have some chopped kale, so that is the veg. DH potatoes, but that's the last of the baby potatoes. Might see if the shop around the corner has some as I can do that without him touching anything or having to use a basket. I just put them in a paper bag myself and put them on the scale myself. Pay by touch card. Better than the supermarket. I didn't use their baskets yesterday. Ugh. I also need carrots for the future.
My son has started putting on Facebook the vegetables he is cooking! Yesterday was celeriac. I replied with my fennel. He said he also had a fennel and was looking forward to a gratin. A chip off the old block!
The sun is shining again - an absolutely beautiful day. It seems so ironic. I will go for a run by the sea this afternoon. Will need sunscreen!
My difficult friend's (husband? ) at last arrived back from Gibraltar last night. She used to be an epidemiologist. She said she was going to make him strip off at the doorway, bundle his clothes into a plastic sack and head straight for the shower. She is at high risk.
DH'S twin sister arrived back from Tenerife last Friday.
My brother's ex and her husband are hoping to get back from Jamaica today. Hmmm.
It is so quiet. No traffic. No aeroplanes. Just the spring sunshine and the birds singing their hearts out.

Beth Is NY state not on total lockdown? IMHO the best thing you can do for your pastor and congregation is to make clear your concerns, boundary and reasons for resigning. Then send him the social distancing video above and maybe he will start to get it. Our Pastor is allowing church council, then choir to meet in the sanctuary so long as fewer than 10 at a time and 6’ apart. One of our sopranos is a retired “public health nurse [who] believes in the governor’s statement “Stay home, save lives”. “ I will follow her lead.
Karen in VA thanks for the WA post article with mesmerizing simulations. Is it true that once infected and recovered, can not be reinfected?
Amber perhaps eBay took down the item because it was bogus? Can you get PayPal or your credit card to cancel or refund the payment? Frankly surprised the whole state of Texas isn’t on shelter in place. Prayers continue for your aunt and your family.
Debby in VA, schools canceled ‘til next year? Next school year in September or until 2021?
Katla hope Karen in VA’s video met your need to ride while quarantined
Sharon I’d love to meet you too, whenever the governor lifts her “go home stay home” order. State parks, rest areas and campgrounds here are closed, as are restrooms in city parks. This is really going to hit our many homeless hard, and imho could lead to another public health problem.
Janetr ROTLMAO about your “elderly” comments. Exactly how I feel (except for the wolf whistles) but didn’t have the words to say. How did I get to be “elderly” don’t really feel a day over 19, or maybe 30.

Not sleeping well – some worry over DH. The increased coumadin must be keeping clot okay as he is still breathing. I am definitely not enjoying this treatment plan. I appreciate the doctor wanting him at home. I would normally be sleeping in a chair next to the hospital bed watching the IV drip and keeping an eye on the monitors. I sure hope this is the right call. He is still either sleeping or resting with his leg elevated. Back to Dr today and then…who knows?? His fear of dying from clot this time is getting him to listen to me about washing more and using disinfectant. A shock to my system! He usually acts like I am from the other planet when it comes to germ concerns (farm boy). Today I am back watching Baby Iris. 😊 A wonderful distraction!
Re: upbringing My Momma was a poor farm girl from a large family. She was a master at making everything from scratch with whatever was around. We grew up with plenty, so didn’t have to worry, but my parents still had the Depression experience and knew how to stretch everything. I had experience with it when my children were little, and I was doing the single Mom thing. We don’t have a lot now, but we don’t need much anymore. With the children grown, our needs are minimal…

Namaste
Day 8. Yes, day 8 without leaving the house except for daily exercise in my courtyard, checking mail, starting the care, or putting out the trash. I am still working on my routine and keeping myself in a positive frame of mind. These are things I can control.
So many things to be grateful for this morning. Here are some currently running through my mind.- I am grateful for another healthy day on this sweet earth.
- I am grateful to have slept until 4 am this morning because lately I have been awakening at 3 am. That extra hour almost made me feel drunk on sleep.
- I am grateful to have found a little under a pound of shrimp in the freezer. It was hiding under a bag of frozen mushroom ravioli. It is a decadent food and I am very fortunate to have them in a freezer when so many are suffering.
- I am so very, very grateful to have a job for which I can work remotely. For now and the near future I will continue to be employed and not have the same worries so many now have on the forefront of their minds.
- I am grateful to have run in to my neighbor and her dog Rocky while taking out the bulk trash yesterday. His leash kept us "socially" distant. I was so very happy to scratch his belly and receive puppy kisses. He is one of my favorite neighbors because he is always smiling.
May all of you find something to keep you warm in spirit today.

Happy Chocolate Covered Raisin Day!
"Chocolate Covered Raisin Day celebrates raisins coated in a shell of either milk chocolate or dark chocolate.
Moviegoers have been snacking on chocolate covered raisins for many, many years. Somehow, popcorn, a box of chocolate covered raisins go together perfectly. It doesn’t matter the kind of movie either. Chocolate covered raisins are also a conventional bulk vending item across the country.
In some countries, chocolate covered raisins are known as Raisinets. Raisinets produced the first and one of the most popular brands of the product. Currently made by Nestle, they are the third-largest selling candy in United States history. The Blumenthal Chocolate Company introduced the Raisinets to the United States in 1927, and then in 1984, Nestle acquired the brand. However, a large number of other brands produce chocolate covered raisins for us to enjoy.
Raisins are an excellent source of calcium, potassium, iron, fiber and vitamin B. When you combine the raisins with dark chocolate, you have a great tasting, healthy snack."

People with normal immune systems do gain immunity after C-19 infection. The question is: for how long? Since this is a novel virus, only time will tell. Best to get the vaccine when available, even if we have had the virus. Probably the vaccine will be available to healthcare workers first. Don't hate me.

Our newish HVAC system thermostats have displayed error codes twice in the last few weeks and malfunctioned. Got very chilly in here a couple of times since our weather is variable this time of year. It was fixed once a few weeks ago, and then it happened again yesterday. Our HVAC guy knows us well, so when I opened the door he asked if I'd we had a lot of sick people coming to our clinic. He asked this through the door while standing out on the front stoop. I told him to stay put until I got my mask on. I seriously don't know why I didn't think of that before he arrived. I did tell his scheduling folks on the phone that our fireplace insert worked just fine to keep the chill off if they wanted to put off coming to the house for now, but they wanted to go ahead and schedule. There is something wrong with the communication between the thermostat and the furnace, apparently. If the breakers are flipped and reset, everything returns to normal. We are to "watchfully observe" the circumstances under which the error codes appear, then turn breakers off & back on to reset each time it happens. If we see a pattern, it will help them to know what to do to correct it.

Today my partner and I are going to Costco at 8 to pick up two prescriptions and some groceries. She wants to get out of the neighborhood. I have asked her to stay in the car, but I don't know if she will. We have surgical masks. While they protect other people more than they protect us, it's at least some barrier.
I think before putting the Costco purchases in our car, I will spray them with my secret weapon Windex (learned that from My Big Fat Greek Wedding).
Just kidding. (Although that might work.)
I'm actually taking along a soapy washcloth & wiping things down as I remove them from the cart before I put them in the car. When we get home, I'll do it again with a fresh soapy washcloth and dry with a towel. Ladies, the wonderful thing about a soapy washcloth is that it's cheap, effective, and kills viruses on your hands while you are wiping down your purchases. Why? because the virus has a lipid (fatty or greasy) component that is essential to the integrity of its cell membrane. Soap dissolves the lipids in the cell membranes and they die instantly. Soap and water! (Spraying alcohol works, too, but using the washcloth cleans your hands and doesn't require a spray bottle, which is a fomite.)
Before putting the groceries away, I will wipe surfaces, shower, change clothes, etc. Then put the groceries away. Why shower in addition to changing clothes? For that matter, why change clothes? Because skin, hair, clothing, cell phones, ink pens, the garage door opener, etc. are fomites. C-19 lives on porous surfaces, like hair, paper, and cardboard, for a few hours. They remain viable on plastic, stainless steel, and other nonporous surfaces for up to 3 days.

My daughter-in-law told me my ex-husband has been visiting them often. This is the grandpa of my older grandchildren (my online schooled 13-year-old grandson & my 11-year-old swimming granddaughter. He has been going about all of his business as usual. He gets most meals at restaurants/drive-throughs/take out. He does his shopping chores, then he goes to see my grandchildren. I pondered what to tell my daughter-in-law and finally decided on a video and a couple of factual current articles. I love my ex- very much, but unfortunately, it will make him more bullheaded if I say anything to him. It would be up to my daughter-in-law to enforce. I'm sure he thinks he's doing the right thing by entertaining the grandkids. He is one of WaPo's bouncing red balls. I miss my grandchildren. I'm used to seeing my local grandchildren for hours each week. This is hard for me.

I have decided to stop using "Spoiler" for C-19 references, except for links and rants. If any of you want me to go back to using spoilers, I will do so, but this virus is now part of our daily lives. It's part of our new normal. Treating it like a scandal, a conspiracy theory, or an offensive topic won't change the major impact it has on our lives every day. We are all upset about it. I do welcome constructive feedback & will not be offended or hurt if someone wants to comment on my comments.

Good Tuesday
Yesterday morning was NOT one of my better ones. I basically had a crying meltdown at work. I am not an owner, but had everyone depending on me for answers to everything! Just totally overwhelmed. Sister in law told me to go home. Really?!? They couldn't handle things with me there! I am still stressed but have a plan in place. We are a grey area business. No answer from the governor yet. We are shutting down the showroom today. Curbside service only. I am hoping we aren't busy(that folks stay home) , but we will be available for those that "need" us. This will keep social distancing, conserve hand sanitizer, and still be available. We will do this until we are told otherwise. This is subject to change by either lack of business or the governor gives us an answer. I was going to say if really slow we might go half staff and each of us every other day, but Donovan and I are essential. The other mechanic and sister in law could stay home, but that isn't abnormal for her. (Oops -meow). Picked up meds from pharmacy last night. I wore my gloves going in and removed before getting into my truck.
I am grateful for ALL of you ladies! Your advice, tips, laughs and struggles. I love the photos that offer peace.
I am grateful that we have plenty to eat. I made fresh honey carrots for husband's veggie last night. I had roasted Brussels sprouts and squash. I did have a piece of dark chocolate caramel yesterday (oops) I know, stress.
I put my wedding ring in safe last night. I keep taking it off at work because of gloves. Figured safer at home. Just gold band. Also thinking of the germs that could be hiding in the crevices. Yuck!
Keep up the great work taking care of yourselves!

I have absolutely no problem with updates not being in a spoiler. I attempted to put in practice within this board and others because those who are depressed/manic/bi-polar or lean towards a depressed state are showing signs of deeper depression. How can I tell by reading posts? My mother was bi-polar (the term at the time) and I could literally smell a downward spiral forming. There are many here who have dropped off and if one reads early March posts through today the pattern starts to become visible.
Yes, we all need support and it is the new norm. But many who have mental disabilities have completely stopped logging in because they are having a hard time adjusting to this sudden change in life. It is going to take most of them a longer period to adjust.
For the mental health of others I will continue to "spoil" my covid-19 updates as much as possible. The jokes......well, inputted for humor? I am not even sure if these are troublesome for all.
I am of the same ilk as you. I feel we should not treat this as a dark secret, scandal, skeleton in the closet, or conspiracy. I appreciate everything you have been posting as it is based upon your knowledge and experience. You have given me many things to consider and research which is making me stronger and better informed.
PS: I think you are on to something with the Windex. The standard household Windex mix contains 5-10 percent of ammonia which breaks down grease, oil, and possibly that pesky lipid membrane. I will now carry a bottle in the car and when I must stock up wipe down everything prior to it coming in to the house.5
