Thanks Luci in WNC! I am still finding wayward bits of longish hair. I had just taken bits off the curve from the ears to my neck. But the back curls under if I use my dryer/curl brush. But its definitely easier! The last time I washed it, I took a razor to my neck! I would love like an inch all round be buzzed, just the nape of my neck. I have always loved that part short.💖

Today my meal was a large 2 servings worth of oatmeal, with 1/2 an apple cut up in it as it was cooking! I also use milk instead of water. I put in blobs of butter, and on each blob was a teaspoon of brown sugar. Then I make a moat with some milk around the edges. Brings back memories because that's how my momma made it.💖

Stress ate went super over. Overwhelmed now. Daughter has virus again at her base but this time it’s in rooms near hers. I just worry her roommate could bring it back to their room . She has $10 cloths mask y gloves now I sent her gloves for cleaning before this base she kept them luckily. Can’t help but worry as it gets closer to home. At least my neighbor with it is more than 3+ houses away..I am glad she moved into more outdoor room barracks tho so no shared hallways I looked on google.

Well, I now have a clear car inside and out. Went for my walk after dinner then did some crocheting.

Tomorrow I’m planning to go to Aldi. I just got an email saying they’re going to be limiting the number of people who can be in the store at any one time and that they’re going to have only one way in an aisle. Glad I decided to go tomorrow and not Friday because you don’t know what time you’ll get in and I’m supposed to be at the soup kitchen.

Machka, you are aware that cats love to play fetch too? My Andromeda brings me her Baby (a grey tiny stuffed catnip mouse!) to throw for her a number of times a day. I love to watch her self-satisfied trot as she brings him to the foot of the chair. If I’m busy, she’ll often bring him right up into my lap, and the routine begins. I take the mouse from her and ask (rhetorically, I’m sure!) “Are you ready?” And cocking my arm back and forth to the words, “One! Two! Three! Fetch!!” And I vary my target, including, once I have her totally engaged, throwing it through the pass-through into the kitchen. Back she comes, moments later, every whisker a-bristle with satisfaction. It’s so much fun to watch! If you don’t meet her but wait, she may start to bring it.

Janet Bananas, your fatigue level and the continuing cough are a little concerning to me. Not COVID-19 so much as worrying about possible low-grade pneumonia. Stay aware of yourself. And stay hydrated.

Rita, I think you and I and Karen ALL share the same stylist - as well as colorist! Update: per Jaren, that isn’t her singing. Well, it’s not me either, so given you’re nowhere near WA State, Rebecca, somewhere out there is a gifted lady who isn’t either one of us. I still love the song, though.

Rebecca, I feel the same about you and all the rest of us. The two photos look like the beginning and end of a melt-down, lol! She’s grown so much! And the days of the week have been that for me ever since I retired, except for when I’m working.

Kylia! What great news about Aubrey! I’m glad to hear she’s doing so much better!

Amber, I’m so glad they caught and arrested that guy who was spreading rumors about grocery stores being contaminated on purpose with COVID-19! There are so many who do things like spread rumors to make it sound like they’re “in the know”, but what they’re doing is make it impossible for folks to know WHAT to believe, which leads to more danger, not less.

Absolutely.

I had 3 cats for many years. One would fetch. I'd throw something down the hall and he'd bring it back to me. One was just puzzled by the whole thing. And one was so active that chasing a ball or whatever was just too slow for her.

Rhody will occasionally fetch too but most of the time I think it's because he gets really excited, catches the mouse, plays with it, and then carries it about for a few minutes until it eventually ends up somewhere near me.

Most of the time he catches it, leaves it where it is and dashes around the corner in the hall with just his face sticking out, ready for me come down the hall and throw it again.

Michele: This is an awkward time for everyone, and a difficult time to have a houseguest. I hope all goes well for your visit.

Barbie: I understand the value of a good freezer. We had one and decided we wanted a bigger one. Our garage has 2 freezers, two trykes and no cars. It was a good idea to get the larger freezer and both are in regular use. :embarassed: I love the idea of turning the news off & turning up the music to dance. I am a terrible dance partner, but I can move to the music.

Penny: Thanks for the great recipe!!! I made a note on the active dry yeast. :bigsmile: I've been making sourdough pancakes a couple of times a week. The sourdough starter doesn't need yeast added.

Heather: Yay for amazon. You’ll get to be a natural blonde again!

Lanette: We are requested to stay at home as much as possible. Shopping is okay. Seniors get time early in the morning but can also come in later as needed. I wear plastic protective gloves and a mask. I also put my own groceries in a shopping bag that I bring from home. Staying safe and healthy is important. On nice days when I’m lucky enough to see a neighbor outside, we enjoy a chat across driveways & then go back inside. We keep more than 10 feet between us for our chats.

Rebecca: Thanks for being our soul sister and reminding us to cherish our good fortune to have found so many wonderful ‘sisters.’ Thanks for sharing photos of Athena, too. Your days of the week are fun and funny.

Kate UK: I am sorry for the loss of your friend.

I had a good day today. DH got the parts for a stand that lets me ride my terra-tryke in the garage. I spent 30 minutes riding this morning, and it required enough effort to make me feel like I got some good exercise. I hope to make it a regular habit. I miss yoga and the gym so I need to keep strong at home by moving more.

Is it this day or that day can't remember

Having to venture to the supermarket this morning, I know they have it marked out for social distancing and there is now a one way system in place, but must admit I'm not looking forward to it, but need to stock up on some basics.

I'm half introvert and half extrovert, I don't like crowds or being with too many people I don't know, much prefer small groups. I'm like a few on here whose life has not changed much. I still go out with the dog, just stay closer to home, which is a shame as Leah likes to have a good run, but she is coping okay. She does have a case of the zoomies every now and again, but at least it gets it out of her system. She likes to hide behind trees etc and it's funny to see her "hiding" behind clumps of grass.

Loving all the photos - keep them coming, we need something to cheer us up. Loved the meme from SuziQ too

Hello everyone.

Yesterday was a little stressful. I had to get some much required reports/statuses completed for one of our major partners for the monies provided to us for promotions last quarter. After completing everything on Tuesday the BDM (Business Development Manager) proceeded to let me know portions of the plan changed. I love him and we work very well together. But, he has ADHD and he is like herding a clowder. I get things in pieces and it is like putting a puzzle together. And, every quarter I tell him the same thing - we must get organized with this stuff, you have to keep me in the loop, just copy me on everything regarding the plans, etc.. I wish I could dislike him but it is impossible. He really does appreciate me as well as I appreciate him and he is the one of the people I can be completely honest with without a filter. This quarter I am changing my game plan - I will be sure to touch base with him three weeks prior to the quarter ending to confirm the "final final" plan. One of the yoga lessons I have learned is it is not what the person says/does, it is how we react to it.

For what am I grateful for today?

• I am grateful for another healthy day.
• I am grateful my VP approved the last-minute vacation day I requested. I need to go out for essentials and I will not go out during the weekend when the crowds are the largest.
• I am grateful I have income coming in so I can purchase essentials. So many have absolutely nothing coming in to their households.
• I am grateful I quickly adapted to our new normal. Many of my work peeps have been hitting breaking points and breaking down.

It is off to my morning walk. My plan is to log in a little early today in order to proactively get any potential 911s completed so my cellphone will not ring tomorrow with work stuff.

Kate - I'm so sorry for your loss.

This situation is a wake-up call for the value of health care and health equity. Also for how many of the people providing "essential services" are poorly paid. It's sad that so many have to suffer before society's eyes are opened.

Norway has a pretty good handle on covid-19, but I'm keeping a close watch on developments in the US and Sweden, where I have all my family.

Here in Longyearbyen, the streets are never exactly crowded. They are even quieter now. I snapped this shot just before noon yesterday on my way home from the grocery store.

Earlier this week I went for a long walk with my friends the deacon (in orange) and the editor of the local paper (in blue). Both these photos show main roads in town. This time of year they're covered 3-4 inches deep in hard-packed snow. I love how our city streets stay white despite the traffic. Another beneficial side-effect of the ice cover is that all the potholes are evened out. The roads are never better than in the winter. :laugh:

Last week I ordered a salmon at the grocery store to prepare for Easter meals. I was too late to order a whole fish, but they could get me two whole fillets. Go figure.

I was expecting about 7-8 pounds of fish but got more than 13 pounds! So we're eating lots of salmon just now. (Obviously a lot of it is going into the freezer.) My Easter go-to is the Swedish classic "gravad lax" - salmon cured in salt, sugar, white pepper and dill. I realize the thought of eating raw fish may gross some of you out, but we LOVE it!

And we just spotted the first snow bunting, back from southeastern Europe and the Black Sea.

Rebecca - I've shared that red meme with my friends. I only know what day it is by the morning programme we listen to on Radio 4!
My friend in York replied and she is obviously not having a good time. Her mental health has always been fragile. Despite having recovered well from the actual virus, she is slipping into depression. She lives alone. Those of you who live alone, I salute you! And I also salute those of you who live with difficult people.
I know how lucky I am.

Normally I am suffering from FOMO this close to a bank holiday. Not this year. Normally I have packing anxiety this close to a cruise. Not this year. Normally I suffer from fear of sunny days and guilt at not wanting to go out in it. Not this year. All the things that normally bother me have been taken away. I am an indoor, anti social person. I suffer from a lot of 'oughts' . I don't have any oughts right now.

I am going to visit the small local supermarket this afternoon. DH usually goes, but I think I should. We need fresh veg and fruit. Plus one or two other things. I know I will have to queue for a while etc. Not looking forward to it.

Tonight I'm cooking chicken with preserved lemons, with kale.
