Quick hop on! Margaret- I meant no offense in regards to the dog. Just thought I'd maybe put a little light on a different perspective. Of course, you are there and can feel the tone/aggression; so you need to do what is best! Love and hugs to you! Stay safe!
It rained ALL DAY here; so I food prep and made a treat for my daycare kiddos lunch, tomorrow. It is meatless Monday; so I made two focaccia breads, that I will serve with hummus and some fruit. They turned out very nicely. Quite pleased.
Well, T2G2B (time to go to bed). ttfn xoxoxo KJ (Kelly)
No offense taken. I wrote about it to think through how to best feel safe in son's yard. I think I have a plan now.1 -

We have a winner!! Great job Rebecca!! Yes, Harry Truman and Spirit Lake.
That earlier photo I posted was of Mt. St. Helens the day before she blew 40 years ago at 8:32 am on May 18th. And here's the eruption:
We were living east of Seattle at the time - weren't aware of the blast except our masonry fireplace cracked and a very light sprinkling of ash fell in our neighborhood. Today we live 50 miles away from the crater as the crow flies, both that and Mt. Rainer which is in Pip's back yard. On clear mornings I can see them from the end of our road when I take my walk.
A friend of ours (here in our County) was laying shingles on his roof that morning, and witnessed it with an unobstructed view.
Rebecca - any more memories of the event? Ash all over? Katla? how about you?
Karen... an emerald? Were you hiding that in the basement? It's beautiful.

Score!!!! I thought for a minute it might be Mt. St. Helens Glass.
Oh but it is…

Rita Nice sewing machine! And score on the masks - pattern or not.
Lanette Have been thinking about dog harnesses for tiny dogs. The only one Molly hasn't been able to get out of is one that is too small & we both hate that one. Maybe this article will help:
Kim OMG. You need clones. and GoFundMe.

Lanette There is this one I found on Amazon with a handle that you could use to snatch your tiny dog off the ground quickly if you needed to:
I might order this one for my tiny houdinis.

@Beth thanks for your thoughts, i think it's easier to pick up and change continents early in life( before 50), or possibly after retirement. late in career can be complex for retirement and employment reasons. i have at times considered moving back to the usa close to family but no guarantee they will stay where they are, nor how connected we would all be once back. i have several siblings spread out over the usa. I don't know that moving and building my life around being near one sibling them would be wise. One lives in a very remote and cold place and will probably stay there her whole life. The others have seriously discussed wishes to move relatively far away. (one to another country, and the other many hundreds of miles south) Here i have 'relatively' secure very modest income, and i like my work, and some other aspects of my life. I have moved quite a lot, lived in usa, kenya, quebec, france. after all that i'm much less eager to move again, without a clear plan or connection (interesting, relatively solid work or strong couple relationship).
But if we can never see people who are not in our home and one lives alone that does not seem great. Paris is not the absolute best place to be at present, with the relatively high contagion rate, and very strict lockdown (time and distance for past 55 days and small apartments. a very unexpected situation.
Yesterday i met a second friend for a walk along a canal. she wanted to meet at 2:30 but i suggested lunchtime as the french tend to be eating at home then on sundays. indeed, it was pretty calm till about 3 and then the masses of people came out. few were wearing masks. social distancing is difficult with so many people. understandable though, first sunday w possibility to leave one's 1km radius for 2 months and also first possibility to legally walk or sit near someone who is not from same household or family. many places were open for take away and we got a froyo and sat by the canal. the police were mildly telling people picnicing they couldn't picnic (i guess that's the law), but froyo is not really picnicking and we had finished them.
they are talking on and off about possible reconfinement in less than 2 weeks in some places (certainly paris).
i would really hate that. i'm find about social barriers, but not being able to walk with others or to leave one's km radius is not a good solution for my life situation.
i pre-tracked today, unusual for me.
i have work to do today and my motivation to start is lagging, as is often the case. usually when i get into something it gets better as i get into it.4 -
Monday -- I took today off work so I could work on my paper. I think I might take Wednesday off as well. Maybe Thursday too. I'll see.
But I did get out for a run!
1.9 km into my run, I noticed something out in the water, and noticed that others were standing there filming it ... a dolphin! I watched it a little while, and filmed it too ... then a few paces up I saw the whole pod of dolphins swimming into the bay. They swam in then turned and swam back out again. I filmed them too.
Distance: 5.72km
Elevation: 87m
Moving Time: 48:58
Elapsed Time: 58:27
Pace: 8:33/km
Calories: 588
If you click the big blue square or the link below it should take you to a compilation of the two short videos. Sorry ... I couldn't figure out how to zoom in. The first 2 minutes is the one dolphin and then I turn and look across the bay and that's when you see them all.
I would turn the volume down a bit.

Karen - thank you for the dog harness leads. I posed the question on a schnauzer FB page, and someone there also suggested the Ruffwear. I like the idea of a handle - and 2 belly straps in the link you provided.
Speaking of Helenite, my cleaner's husband used to have the "St. Helen's Glass" business. He finally closed it down several years ago because of the lack of interest.
Rebecca, Katla, Flea - thank you for the memories. I remember TV news showing inches of ash that dropped in Oregon, Eastern Washington and beyond. And, I remember we were advised to use masks and back then what did we use - bandana's perhaps? We had to continually change the air filters on our cars even with the small amount of ash that fell in our area.
Have a great start of the week!!

KIM ~ What an inspiration you are to those you work with. We are all with you and know that you can get things turned around at the camp. Prayers for you and the others involved.

Amber > yeah my weight has always been all over the place, usually going up all the time. I am just using the food finder on MFP and counting calories. It has been working for me so far but I am very much a creature of habit and I find something I like and then eat it everyday..lol Eventually though you get bored with it. I have added snacking but in my calorie allowance. I am feeling better than I was thats for sure but just want it to keep declining Just have to stay vigilant and keep the pounds melting away!!
You are doing such a fab job with your weight-loss and your exercise routine!! Geez I cannot even imagine doing that. I could never get down on the floor for a start! I would never be able to get up again. Not only because of my weight but my knees.. One of them is a replacement and the other is needing a replacement. You must feel so much better losing those inches!!
RV Rita > Glad to hear your back is getting better! I think the mask looks great
Barbara > I hope you had a great time at your church gathering x
Karen > Thank you so much, you are so sweet
I have not tried any of those challenges. Is it through MFP that you are doing it? Sometimes things like that are really good as you stay accountable. Might be something I will look at soon
Machka in Oz > You are a superwoman!!! I mean seriously, you should be so proud of yourself with all the things you are handling all at once. I am very sorry to hear about your husband but glad he is doing better than predicted. I cannot even imagine how hard that must be on you. You really looked awesome in the picture you posted. I haven't looked like that since I was a young teenager. You can achieve anything you put your mind to, you are a strong woman and that shows in your positive attitude even on here
KJLaMore > Those focaccia's look amazing!! To nice to eat I agree with Heather, you should go into business making those!
I am feeling so crap today! I sometimes get these rashes under my tummy and it is raw and angry right now!! I put cream on it and it usually heals quite fast but I so hate getting them all together. I feel that even when I lose my weight I will still get them because of the huge amount of extra skin I will have It is just so disheartening.
I hope everyone is having a lovely day! Got to go boil some eggs and peel them. Have been missing my boiled egg snacks.
Love Tonya UK x
Years back I lost 100 lbs and felt so much better (pic below) I ended up gaining that weight back and much more! I really need to keep doing this. I feel this is my last chance.
Just some other pics I love

Tonya, there are so many ways to be active and to use muscles that don't require getting down on the floor. There's a great book and program called "Strong Women Stay Young" (look for the book in the library and more information online). The weight lifting exercises can be modified for all fitness levels and none of them requires getting down on the floor.
Kim From what I know about you, you are equal to the challenge. I send my best wishes your way.
Kelly, that focaccia looks amazing. Looks like a lot of work and worth the effort.
woke up early because Bessie pooped in the living room contacted my walking friend about meeting earlier for our walk.
Today I am determined to get the zucchini planted.
