still a bit smoky and a lot colder this morning....I'll need a warmer jacket after breakfast.
Michele, if that beautiful bread were in my kitchen, I'd be sampling it right now. Your persistence has paid off.
Pip, sorry about the damage to the Airstream and happy that you found a buyer so you can move to the next chapter in your life.
Heather, I love those colorful dishes but would have no use for them either and would giving them to the charity shop.

Machka - You can cook with them but they are very small. Individual size.
DH went to take the car out to get petrol and, of course, it wouldn't start. Although he tries to remember to run it occasionally he hadn't done it for a while. Luckily the warranty still covers that and the guy was here half an hour later.
DH took it for a run and got petrol. I'm sure it will be fine tomorrow as it's 60 miles each way.
I am washing his sofa covers. I did mine a couple of weeks ago.
Then I was not getting a date for the cabinet removal from my son, so I took myself to YouTube. Looked easy enough. When DH got back I told him what I had found out, so he set to with my help and encouragement and we managed it!!!!!! Hooray for us.!!!!
Now just to run down the contents of the freezer and fridge.
We have black granite worktops and some black accessories so I'm very excited about the fridge freezer. Glad we didn't pick the blue one. It was a bit darker than our aqua accessories and I think I would have got tired of it.

Sue in WA: I’m glad your air quality is better than other places. I hope things go as well as possible for your family members. :flowerforyou:
Barbara: The fire news is heart wrenching. Where I live, we have plenty of smoke, but it is coming from the I-5 corridor. Ships are going up the river to the Portland docks as usual.
Fae: AQI here is as bad as I've seen it in MANY years. Stagnation is a good description. I think the river is pulling smoke down to the sea. I’m going to contact my horse friends and find out whether I’m needed to help with rescue of horses from the fire areas.
KJ: Fire is nowhere near us, but the smoke is awful and is causing my eyes to feel irritated. :ohwell:
Smoke is flowing down the Willamette and Columbia Rivers. I haven’t looked up the AQI, but my eyes and sinuses are irritated and giving me a headache. I plan to contact my horse friends and see whether my help is needed today.

Heather - I love those dishes.
Lisa - I agree presents are hard to get rid of.
Today is my and my Grandson’s birthday we celebrated yesterday together. This is our annual photo. I am missing one from 2015 somehow.
We are keeping our Granddaughter for a while this afternoon so they they can take Jonah to get a skateboard as his birthday present.
I think her and I will go get groceries.

Happy birthday, Tracey! Hope it's grand...2

TRACY & GRANDSON ~ Happy, Happy Birthday to you both!
We have not eaten out/ordered out since the end of February and I am really getting tired of trying to figure out what to cook for dinner. We have plenty in the freezer and cabinets, but, making the effort to come up with something different is getting old.

Had trouble connecting with this site the last few days, but today I hooked right up. Smokey here but not as bad as it was in Seattle. I got home yesterday from a week in Seattle.
Gals, it was such an emotional whirlwind all week and to sum it up in a few words.... better than my sister and I could have hoped for.. The tests and imaging showed that there are no new metastasis anywhere in her body. All the tumors are either stable or have shrunk since the last imaging. For now the immunotherapy is proving effective. :-). Next MRI in 2 months and PET in 4 months. Thank you everyone for all the support.
Barbara, so glad Joe's treatment is successful... And yes, I think my DH's trauma of turning 80 in November has everything to do with looking at end of life. He has heart failure and it prevents him from doing all the things he used to do because he gets tired more easily. But he's lucky, he had open heart surgery in 2006 and has quality of life.
Katla, still doing a rain dance....

Ladies,
Here's some temporary relief for those of us with dry, scratchy, smoke-weary eyes. In other words, hope you laugh until you cry:
Lanette
Smokey SW WA State with current AQI of 191. Pot of lentil soup cooking on the stove, welcome steam for eyes and sinuses. Used half olive oil/half coconut oil to saute veggies. What an awesome smell!

Betsy, so pleased with the news for your sister! Such a welcome relief after a tough time...1

Good news Betsy. You are a great sister.
Delicious sprouted bean curry with chipotle salmon and broccoli.
Love Heather UK xxxxxxxx who is hoping for a trip down the dump soon for cabinet, curtains, lamp etc.2 -
Wonderful news about your sister Betsy...
Ran over to the store fpr a few things, meeting my friends for pizza tonight1 -
Lanette Where did you find all those photos of my hairstyling in my late 20's? Hahaha!
Katla Amazing that range horses know to seek high ground where smoke is thinner and better chances of a breeze. The trouble is horses on small places don't have this option. Many around here have them in open barns with big industrial fans blowing through burlap they keep sprayed with water. My eyes, throat, and nasal passage are worst they have ever been. Hang in there. White Salmon is just unbelievable. Not sure how anyone is able to stay there.
Faye up the river and too smokey to find her paddle. AQI still over 400. Going for another wet rag mask.5 -

Thank God the damage issue didn’t scare them off! They are going to but the airstream! We went to empty it out! Now they are just waiting on us to give us the $$$ so they can tow it away. The guy that hit it texted me back and went to go see the damage he said he unknowingly did. He gave us his ins information. Thank goodness that he has the same insurance we do. Things are working out, whew!7

Pip - that is the best outcome ever!

Tracy & Grandson: Happy Birthday!!!
Betsy: I am happy for your sister’s good medical news. Rain is a wonderful idea. It can wash the air. I’ll dance with you. :flowerforyou:
Lanette: 35 years ago I made the mistake of getting a perm from a neighbor who said she was a licensed hairdresser. I resembled Harpo Marx. NEVER AGAIN! :noway: Air quality is at 6 right now. Better!
Faye: Range horses are very good at survival. The smart ones survive, and the dumb ones end up as some predator’s dinner. :ohwell: Horse owners have a big responsibility to provide safety and good care for their animals. So do owners of all other livestock. :flowerforyou:
The air quality today is supposedly better, and I think the air smells a little better. I can’t see the Island that just across the channel from us due to fog. The main channel of the Columbia River is on the other side of the island. I haven’t heard any fog horns on the main channel so I guess that boats are waiting for better visibility to travel.
