GOOD Saturday morning LESS ALCOHOL gang.
Today we take off for an over night out of state. First stop will be to shop for new shoes. Thanks to all of you for adding to the feet/shoe conversation. I appreciate all the helpful information. Now I know why the thrift stores have all those beautiful shoes folks have donated. I always wondered WHY would they get rid of shoes that are not worn out?
Went out last evening to listen to a live band playing on an open deck. The weather was very nice, only a little nip in the air. Lots of people stopping in for food and drink and social connection.
Being a Friday, my husband would have in the not to distant past told me to let my hair down, have some drinks(number one rule for me - absolutely no drinks out when I am the driver of the car).
Even though I had not clued him in to my DRY May plans, I was shocked when he took it upon himself to go order drinks for us and him automatically came back to the table with a non alcoholic drink for me. 🤤 <- this is my shocked and joy look.
12 day AF streak
If your a Mom enjoy this special weekend especially for you!!

@Lilylady3k Your brunch looks fantastic to say the least!
Was AF last night, this is our last day in OH as we fly out in a few hours. It has been a whirlwind week but only 1 alcohol evening and I actually wish I had done without. It did not even taste good.
May 6 out of 7 AF days so far this month
back tomorrow after a good nights sleep

Dizzy and insanely buried with work and just catching up....Love all the pictures!!
AF for 1st week of May.....same plan for this 2nd week .
Zero chocolate and zero sugar yesterday. First time since February without my daily treats. I didn't die ...but I suffered a bit
Footwear: found youtube reviews helpful. And www.runrepeat.com. @Lilylady3k that site has a section for hiking shoes too.
I use an old pair of New Balance trail running shoes instead of hiking boots and just wear midcalf height socks. The trail running shoes give my feet better flexibility and they are more breathable in general. I also like ones that are knobby and durable underfoot so I don't feel every pebble and rock I step on. Every now and I then I luck out at a Big 5 store and get a discontinued model and those seem to be the ones made from materials of prior years that last longer!
Good luck shopping this weekend folks!!

Reporting in on Saturday's failure.
1 mimosa w/ champagne at brunch then AF mimosas (YEA for Spanish Zero Codorniu non alcoholic champagne /cava). Then in the evening I decided to drain the fridge of alcohol but did not pour it down the sink. 2 glasses wine with fried chicken dinner + 2 glasses champagne watching movies. Not my best day! I can do better.
This morning for Mother's Day brunch I had AF mimosas
There is both wine and champagne in the fridge still ... but I'm pouring out the champagne and letting DH drink the leftover white wine this evening. Stepping up to the plate and claiming an AF evening.3 -
I am still tired from the trip and being sick while gone but did ok about the alcohol on my trip
May 1-5 AF
May 6 2+ wine, and did not enjoy it
May 7th AF
May 8th 2 spirits after arriving home after a long day of travel
The rest of the month not sure yet but most definitely learning that I don't to have the alcohol in the evenings which is a huge eye opener for me. Less alcohol does make me feel better but I really have to make an effort to not drink after a drink day. Does anyone else have this problem?5 -
@lmlmrn
Definitely the day after having drinks I always want more drinks the next day. I was on a fairly smooth pattern of not doing that until my schedule changed quite a bit.
Part of it could be hair of the dog?
Part for me is just wanting to have drinks when I know that I haven't got work the next morning.5 -

Sunday May 09 - AF - Super happy that I was AF last night, turns out I needed to be sharp. I was scheduled 12-3 at the restaurant, ended up staying until 5, went for a hike with quite a bit of elevation, and then went back to work because it was so super busy, like all restaurants are for Mother's Day. We have take-out only in most parts of Canada. Nobody wants Mom's to have to cook today, regardless if it is out for a sit down dinner or takeout. Happy Mother's Day to all, those who have kids and everyone else, because we all had/have Mothers.

NICE TO BE BACK HOME.
Could not wait to get away, once there after 12 hours of watching my husband drink himself stupid, then fall down in public on a sidewalk and scrape himself bloody....I was ready to get back. The only great part of the time away was getting in tons of walking in new shoes that now fit, so no sore toes and getting lots of fresh air in that mask free state.
AF 9/9 in May (plus add last five days in April for 14 streak)
@Lilylady3k absolutely lovey presentation and the food looks delicious. I look at everything in the background as well and the copper ice chest has really caught my eye. I love poliahed metals. Most of my paintings I am creating these days have at least one of the fine metal colors in them.
Let's all have a successful week in goal setting.

5/9 - AF mimosas for Mother’s Day Brunch; AF in the evening too!
I've posted a gain the last 3 out of 4 weeks on Monday WI. Time to turn this around and quit going over both my limits for food & drink.3 -
@MissMay - I love my new metal bucket! Bought it for DD's anniversary party ... it held the led light-up sparklers & tambourines. Then it turns out to be a great ice bucket for the mimosa brunch. (Placed a towel under it because of the sweat but it did not leak). I think I'll be using it often. Great old metal look.2
