I love the friendship and advice. Thank you. We will eventually choose the right dog for us. We are not inclined to rush into things.

Worked. For some reason, it seemed to take longer today. Yesterday, I got finished early. Guess I was just making up….lol Went to Aldi, they were out of a lot of things, too.

Barbara – beautiful pictures. I’m SOOO looking forward to spring. Not that I have any flowers blooming, just want warm weather. We use Verizon, too, and haven’t had any problem

Katla – what do I think about getting a dog? First of all, I’m sorry you might have to wait. My thought is that there are a lot of well-behaved, in need of a good home (which I know you’ll provide) dogs at the local Animal Shelter/Humane Society/SPCA. I would go there if it were me. Think you’ve gotten some really good thoughts. In a way, I agree with Heather. When you got Schooner, your dh was healthier. Now it’ll be more work for you. Perhaps an older not as rambunctious dog would be a better match for you right now.

Speaking of pets: I was talking to Vince about cats. I’m thinking that we probably shouldn’t get another cat until Lexi is gone. I know that this hurts. But I’m afraid that if we were to get a kitten right now when Lexi just can’t remember where the litter box is so she poops on the rug, I’m afraid a kitten will see this and think “oh, I guess it’s OK to just poop on the rug”. We humans can understand that she can’t help it, she just doesn’t remember. But a kitten can’t. Vince agrees with this thinking. Maybe we could foster a cat?

Annie DE – what commitment on your part!!!

Lanette – I am very sorry you had to have your baby put down. What a heartache it is!

Newcomer bowling tonight. Gotta think of what to have for breakfast tomorrow and then probably work on the puzzle some.

Here’s the bear thing that I made for my friend.

I spent hours today trying to get the Zelle app to work so I could pay my lawn people. Never got it to work. Had been paying through Venmo but it told me the number was not available. I don't know if he changed his number or what. Finally paid hime with PayPal and just hope he gets it. :s

Yesterday we met the poodle breeder. She lives in the country on a large piece of land. She was getting ready for a dog show with two very large & beautiful black poodles and two excellent handlers. I am 5’8” and those dogs were hip high on me, They are beautiful & well behaved. I admit being a bit overwhelmed. There was also a middle sized sweet gray poodle who is about knee high to me. The breeder said she will have puppies next year. It seems like a very long time to wait for a new dog. I may call her for advice. I would love to hear what you think.

If it were me, I would go to an animal shelter or two to see the dogs.

(((Lanette ))) I am sorry for your loss.

We got DrewB as a rescue dog and she is one of the sweetest dogs. When the vet restrained her to take a blood sample to check for anemia yesterday I said she is more apt to lick you than bite you. She is so forgiving she would make a great therapy dog if she was bigger. She comes in at about 13 pounds. I am spoiled because she rarely barks too. She has Italian Greyhound in her. Her coat is like stroking velvet also due to her Greyhound background. So blessed.

    Your dog will find you.

Thank you to those who have commented on our puppy search. We are patient and are willing to wait for the right dog for us. We have dog training skills and took our sweet old dog, Schooner, a Keeshond, to puppy obedience school when he was young. We are still grieving his loss to cancer last September. He was 14 when he passed away. We are now beginning to look for a new puppy. We are looking for a healthy puppy to love, to train, and to become a member of our family.

So pip, he likes the new floors or no? I'm not sure I can tell from that distance! lol
Does he fight his gentle leader? Harley HATES that thing. I've tried so many times to get him to wear it and he just tugs and tugs at it and spends so much time "worrying" about the danged thing that it takes away from our walking time, I just end up taking it off and letting him run back and forth and tug at me a bit. He's really not a horrible walker like our beagles were! OMG... don't get me started! But they responded wonderfully to the gentle leaders. He definitely does not.

Kirby LOVES the new floors. I used the gentle leaders on all my pups. That was an old pic. Yogi walks off leas now and has been for awhile

Rebecca - I am making a shirt for my granddaughter that says “not bossy, aggressively helpful”. It’s seems to be a thing with young girls. I remember my girls both going through a bossy stage.

    Heather - You’re a Magician!!!!!

Michele - love the bears. I’m working on a crooked house for our eldest right now. It has a Halloween and Christmas accessory set.

(((Lanette))) — I am so sorry for the loss of your dog. Our dogs are so important to us. We lost our sweet old dog, Schooner. He passed away last fall from cancer. He was the sweetest old boy and we both miss him. 💔. Losing a good dog is so sad. Time has gone by & we’re now looking for another sweet pup.

It's a public holiday on Monday plus my usual Friday off. :)

Went out for lunch with my work colleagues today and I had a grilled haloumi burger. Yummy!! Climbed 10 flights of stairs to help offset it. :)

Regarding email: Are you a file everything & keep the Inbox empty person OR are you a keep everything in your Inbox person?

I'm very much a deal with it and file it (or delete it) person. I'd prefer my Inbox to be empty at the end of the day or very close to it.

It's bothering me that I've been hitting triple digits in 2 of my accounts lately!! I'm having trouble getting the number down in those accounts.

But then I caught a glimpse of a work colleague's Inbox with over 2000 emails in it!!! 😳 I would be hyperventilating into a paper bag!!

    Accountability:
Chose well: Joe, readings, BP, dogs to powerline, dog group, CI<CO, CI<250<CO, active 4:23
Bonus: more meeting prep, 55 mins grooming Tumble, board meeting
Workin’ on it: 144.2 :rage:, H20x5.
    Friendly February 2022
9: Thank someone and tell them how they made a difference for you. DorH.
10: Look for good in others, especially when you feel frustrated by them.

When Joe invited me to watch the beginning of a movie this morning, I didn’t want to. From what I’d heard it sounded like the kind of slapstick, Three stooges Humor that he likes and I don’t. Boy am I glad I chose to join him despite my preferences. It was the first fifteen minutes of the movie A Lion is in the Streets starring James Cagney and Barbara Hale. What a reward!

Allie praying for good results from this afternoon’s appointment.
Katla following up on what Kim said, if your heart is set on a puppy, there are sometimes puppies in shelters. Petfinder.com lets you customize the search by age, gender, location. There are several puppies within 66 miles of Astoria, some will grow big (https://www.petfinder.com/dog/barry-54273085/wa/vancouver/pure-mutts-animal-rescue-wa721/) and some smaller (https://www.petfinder.com/dog/daisy-local-march-5-6-54175744/or/beaverton/animal-rescue-kingdom-ark-tx971/)
Some are being rescued from high kill shelters in Tx and will be brought to Oregon March 5 and 6, so the adoption fee pays for transport. https://www.petfinder.com/dog/mazeno-or11630-t-54431308/or/beaverton/mutts-meows-rescue-tx1399/ But if your heart is set on a purebred, have you tried the AKC breeder referral service? Heather’s puppy-vs-beloved-old-dog words are worth considering. Plus to getting an older dog, house trained, personality established. Downside, most have some issue. Good luck, I’m rooting for you and DH. Whatever you get, that will be one lucky dog.
Lanette :heartbreak: my heart breaks for you and your DH. Glad you have Rosie’s comfort while you grieve.
    Michelle :heartbreak: for Lexi.
Tracey “aggressively helpful” LOL. That was me!
    Debbie, good luck!
Machka I file what I know I need to keep, but my Inbox, is like my “to do later” and totally out of control

More on landlines. The provider of landline service in our area made internal changes in preparation for fiber optic that make it impossible for any alarm company to “dial in” to establish/maintain communication with our alarm system. SO, the alarm company upgraded our system to go over the internet. The problem is we have frequent power outages in our area. No power=no internet=no alarm system. Even with a backup generator to our internet modem, power outages affecting our internet provider are not infrequent. Communication is so very fragile. Good thing we have some ham radio volunteers, but alas, like some of our volunteer firefighters, they are a greying out population.

Whoops, Joe is up early so here I go.

    Lighter, lovelies!

Went for my 5k run. Absolutely knackered! Finished off with 25 mins rowing.
I'm either having a flare up of my Sjogren's syndrome, or I'm having covid. Soooo tired, with a swollen throat and sore tongue. The syndrome affects the salivary glands.

Waitrose delivery after lunch. Then Zoom with my girlfriends later.

We are trying to decide which outings to book up for on our cruise. DH is not entirely happy as he has done most of the places before. I will do Pompeii on my own and maybe Ronda. I'm happy to go on the coach alone, but he is ambivalent about what he wants to do. Some places we will just wander about.

    Back to my writing!
