Worked, then went to lunch with the Newcomers, mainly because this one gal who is on the bowling league was running it and she was afraid there wouldn’t be enough people. In the end there were 17 of us. Then prebowled. Came home and worked on the puzzle a bit. Had dinner and then I’ll probably work some more on the puzzle
Had a grilled chicken wrap for lunch, only water to drink, baked potato (plain) as the side (I only ate ½). I did ask them to leave off the cheese and ranch dressing but to add grilled mushrooms.
I’ll get a one month membership to the gym down in FL. I just have to call her while we’re on the road and give her my credit card # and she’ll activate my card so I can use it Tuesday. I found a few other DVD’s that I want to take down (just the ones I downloaded since they take up much less room) so I’ll do one of those, a Gilad body sculpting DVD
katla – many times a company sponsors a dog/cat at the Humane Society so you don’t even pay the adoption fee!
Right now in time I’m thinking that maybe we should foster a cat. I know Vince will be a foster failure and so will I, but this way we can be sure the cat interacts well with our cats. But that’ll be a ways off
Jess is making up a list of people to send her graduation announcements to.
Heather – hope you feel better real soon
Margaret – most police would rather you call in something that is nothing. You can never be too careful.
6 Parkers – welcome
You know, I have no interest in the Olympics. I understand the ratings are down, mainly because evidently some people are upset with China. NBC must be pretty upset
Vicki – so sorry you’re feeling bad
Allie – hope everything goes well for you.
Oh, I understand that this one lady was supposed to have an operation and it had been cancelled two or three times before. Well, it was cancelled again. I'm sure she's in a lot of pain and very disappointed that it was cancelled again. She's sort-of taking it out on us. She went on and on about how I should put the lids on the tomatoes and lettuce. It's not what she's saying, it's how she's saying it. But I do understand that she's saying it in that way because she's in pain. Anyway, I understand she was getting on Jerry's case. He had his head in his hand at one point, so I went up to him and said "are you OK?" I tried to tell him that she doesn't really mean the things she says, it's just that she's in pain. He really didn't understand. When I took him home today, he was going on and on so I just let him talk and get it out of his system. He apologized to me once for getting upset, so I just told him "don't worry about it. I know deep in my heart that you get upset, but then 5 minutes later we're the best of friends."
Lynette called. Evidently her mother has cancer. Or so that is what Lynette said. Anyway, this is the first time she's had to deal with a parent very sick. She called me to ask what I should get her mother to eat since it seems the mother isn't eating. I really don't know what she likes. I did suggest a milkshake or pudding, something easy to swallow. Will this help? Who knows? But Lynette is beside herself, she just doesn't know what to do. I do feel sorry for her.

Lanette -- I'm so sorry for the loss of your dog.
Had my first radiation treatment this afternoon, and feeling a bit off. It's probably not just that, but the Ibrance is kicking my butt, too.
Reading along, but I don't always have the energy to respond.

Lanette, hugs friend regarding the loss of your pet.🙏💖

Dropped eldest off at the security checkpoint today, and it all hit me, "he's leaving"! Tight hugs then he rounded a corner and was out of sight. Lee took my hand and we walked to the area outside SEA/TAC to catch the shuttle back to the hotel. I just cried and sobbed. We had a nice dinner the night before though, at IHOPS.
He's currently on his way to Guam, and hopefully getting some sleep. We went to sleep early last night and got up at 3:30am to get to the airport the recommended 3 hours prior. His covid test was done yesterday morning and he got the results in 2 hours. Happy that wasn't a bigger issue.
On the way home we stopped at Fred Meyers, a store we like, that's on the mainland. I bought some Tillamook yogurt I like but don't get at the conmissary. Then bought some new bath items because I want to take son's bathroom and make it mine. Also got some collapsible cubes for storage, for my art stuff. In various colors. Then finally a pile of pretty magazines with positive stories. It was all too much money, but I was kind of numb and just put them in the cart. Its been things I wanted to buy for awhile. If not today, when I feel at my most fragile then when?💖
Going to bed. Its been an emotional day, and I have had soup and a can of beer.

Rebecca - sorry the leavetaking is making you sad.
Lanette - soŕry you lost your fur baby.
Love the DGC pictures.
Have to hang around the house tomorrow for the septic people to come. We have some fancy system that has three tanks and they each have an alarm. The alarm went off on one of them last week. They will not schedule an appointment just tell you they will be here on this date sometime between 9 and 4. They charge $350 for a call charge just to come check it out and wanted to know how I was going to pay for it before they would even give me a date.
Flea and Allie - sending you angels to help keep you strong
Believe in your capacity to change, Sue in WA6 -
Vicki - I am a firm believer that most times the big guy at the top is oblivious because some managers decide to keep things to themselves.
I’m glad you are getting the attention your office needs.
Michele - I have no interest in the Olympics either. I never have though, it’s not new.
Flea - hugs to you.
Rebecca - I think shopping today was an excellent idea. In 2009 my girls moved out within a month of one another. I was devastated and not ready to be without them. They were 20 and 18. When our baby left early in the morning I went to work changing things around and didn’t stop for 3 days. I made a pretty spare room out of one room, took the rec basement area and made myself a crafting space then set up one of the their bedrooms as a little sitting room area for myself. I spent way too much money, worked hard, but making it pretty helped me through it. Hugs to you.
Our daughter and SIL got the go ahead and are approved to use donated sperm. Health Canada had some insane hoops they had to jump through. Hopefully within the next couple of months they’ll be announcing a pregnancy. This has been worrisome for me for them.
My miserable week at work is over, I am off now until Monday. I’m looking forward to three days to do nothing if that is what I choose.
Tomorrow I am spending some time with our eldest daughter. It’s been a long time since her and I have had a nice visit.

Good morning all! Happy Thursday! A real quick "pop" on to say that I am loving all of the pics of pups and grands! Karen VA- Olivia is five, already! I knew it was coming, as Joaquin will be 5 next month. Boy! That flew by! She is a beauty! Rebecca- love the pic of Athena coaxing her boat across the water! Heather- the pics of your grands are always so lively! That Bea!
Katla- You will know when you find the right dog for you!
Dogs- I love dogs; especially big dogs. But I have been dogless for my entire adulthood. Never got a dog while I was renting. Then I began my childcare business and a dog just seemed like a huge liability (especially bc I would want a malamute, and that breed would cancel my insurance) But I enjoy the neighborhood dogs who come visit us as we walk/play outside; and I enjoy my grand dog, Chappie.
Landline- I have one I am required to for my business. Paying for it is not fun; but it comes in handy when you have to give your phone number to businesses/ or for potential clients. My family, childcare families, and close friends all phone/text me via my cell number.
Emails- Yikes, Machka! That's a lot of emails! I can't even wrap my head around 2000! I get about 20-40 emails a day. 3/4 of them from the state and childcare affiliates, 1/4 of them junk mail or stuff I am no longer interested in. I like an empty inbox at the end of the day. The only correspondence that stays in my inbox are the things I need to work on or am currently working on. ONce the project is done, the emails get filed.
Kids arriving. Gotta fly! ttfn xoxoxo KJ (Kelly)
Kelly- this is the first time since I was licensed childcare provider over here that we don't have a dog. Our first was a Border Collie/Brittany Spaniel. She was amazing with the kids. We got her at the shelter. My husband wanted a dog, I really didn't(I am a cat person). I took our friend's little boy who was about 2yrs old with me to look at the dogs. All the other dogs jumped on the cages and were crazy. Brittany(yes, we named her Brittany BEFORE we knew what type of Spaniel she was), walked to the gate, sat down and put her paw on the gate and just looked at Garrett and I. I went home and told dh that if he wanted a dog, to go check her out. He came home with her. She was amazing with all the kids. She passed away at about 16yrs old.
Our second rescue was a Border Collie/Aussie- also so great with the kids.
Dh and son have talked about getting another dog but I told them not right now- too many cats.

Hugs Rebecca-
Spent the day grocery shopping in Sacramento area- started at the veggie/fruit stand in Davis on the way to Sac, then shopped at KP International Marketplace. Such a fun store to check out- takes about 2 hours for us to go through the whole thing. Picked up some different things for former hubby for a care package- things he can't get where he is, then two more Asian grocery stores, then Chinese place for dinner with friends that live up there. His daughter went shopping with us.
Got home after 9PM so just put the refrigerated/frozen stuff away. The rest will be done tomorrow
Happened to look at the calendar I have by the front door- never look at it but glad I did- found out that my daycare girl doesn't have school so will be here all day instead of half day. Text her mom and she didn't know.
DH is already asleep- he worked at 1AM, came home and only slept 1 1/2 hrs before we got on the road-He was asleep in just a couple minutes. Glad he is off tomorrow- nice to sleep in a little
Need to get some roses and raspberry plants pruned tomorrow or this weekend. We haven't had enough cold weather- roses are still blooming, didn't loose all their leaves which is the sign it is time to prune.
75 here today with more warm weather this week

I'm enjoying the Winter Olympics. I find it all fascinating. They're doing the Half Pipe right now which is just amazing.
If you were to participate in a Winter Olympics sport, which one would it be?
Although a lot of the fascinate me, my sport would probably be the cross-country skiing events ... because I used to cross-country ski quite a bit. Or the luge.

(((Lanette)))— I am so sorry about the loss of your dog. We lost our sweet old dog, Schooner, last fall. He had cancer. We miss him every day. We had been wishing for a puppy. Out of the blue our veterinarian’s office called and suggested a local breeder of poodles. We met her and got to see her dogs. The Standard poodles were stunning, and getting ready for a dog show. They seemed huge. We liked a lovely medium sized poodle, and hope to get a puppy later this year.

Another quick hop on. ( Had to shovel some heavy snow this morning; so running late)
Lanette- Sorry to hear about Sophie! Sending you hugs, friend!
Carla- Terrific news about your mom!
Flea- Sending hugs, strength and healing thoughts your way! (( ))
Allie- The docs have to cross everything off their list; just keep that in mind as you wait for results. Things that don't get crossed off will be taken care of. YOU will be taken care of. You are in a good place. Sending a big hug your way.
I am sure I am missing people I want to respond to. But kids at the door. ttfn xoxoxo KJ (Kelly)

Flea - Sending love. Rest as much as you can. Be selfish about it. Your health and strength come first.
I am feeling much better today. I went to sleep very early, for me, last night and enjoyed sleeping in my upstairs room and waking up slowly with the dawn. I am grateful for having my own bolt-hole.
I did 500 words of my book first and then was inspired to start a new short story for a magazine. It is based on a story that my friend P told us during the Zoom yesterday. I hope it will work.

Hugs for Flea and Allie and anyone else facing troubles.

What Olympic sport? Figure Skating, obviously, because it is beautiful and accompanied by music. Of course, I'd need a different body. So I content myself now by recording the programs and watching them at my leisure while riding my exercise bike.4

I've just had an email from a national newspaper about an article I sent them. They want me to add a bit more detail about how I told my sons. I'm going to give it a go! Fingers crossed. No guarantees.
DH seems better disposed towards the cruise trips. We have decided which ones and he is coming with me on all of them. I did tell him I realise some of the trips may bring back memories of his previous partner who died, because they spent happy holidays there together. He said it was true, but that would mean he couldn't get off the ship!
Love Heather UK xxxxxxxx3 -
Lanette, I'm so sorry about Sophie! Sending you love and hugs.
Flea, get your rest. You deserve it.
THAT is WAY SPOOKY margaretturk. Glad you called. There are SO many carjackings going on in our cities now. Almost makes me scared to go out.
EXCITING news, our youngest made the MN Vixen women's pro football team. So thrilled for her, but their games are played at the Concordia Sea Foam Stadium, just off 94 and Hamlin. Not the best part of town anymore. And football, outside, in MN, in April! The things we do for our children!
Welcome 6parkers!
Sending love and positive prayers, Allie.
Good luck to him and you, Rebecca. I remember when the above-mentioned football player went into the Marine Corps. When we dropped her off for Boot, I turned around and BAWLED!!! Ten years laters, she's a vet, gainfully employed, mother of two, and a rookie pro-football player. Who'da thunk?!?
Carla in MN5 -
Morning peeps- just got my first MS bike ride donation for this year. Got $35 beans now!2

Getting myself on a better track went and saw son last night. We play our own version of scrable. We go to word solver to see if we can create a 7 letter word. We both do it so it is fair. Last night I was able to play picotee. It means a flower that has an edge with a different color than its base like a picotee tulip. Any flower with this characteristic is a picotee flower. What a fun word. It is like getting to use the word plethora. I have a plethora of friends from this site. Thank you for being here with me. Last nights score 442 son to 437 me. Both had some 7 letters words and played the big letters like Q well. He usually wins and not because I let him. We just like to see how many points we can get.
I did learn from son why it is so difficult to scan anything into our computer now. AGE! Yes unfortunately I know how that feels. Scanning can be done but it takes at least a half an hour a picture or a document. So plan B is in order.2 -
Allie--Praying for good results from your test. Did he not know you were having the test done?
Flea--Sending prayers and hugs.
Rebecca--Hugs and prayers.
Tracey--I hope you enjoy your 3 days off and get the reset you need. I know I am looking forward to the weekend off also. Other than church on Sunday we are going to our oldest son's Sunday for DGD's 14th birthday party. Doubt we will stay for the big game. Just not into it.
Heather--Glad DH is feeling better about your trip. Memories with others is hard, but making new memories is good.
I am so glad it is Friday. Looking forward to the weekend and doing nothing unless I want to. DH works at least half a day tomorrow, which means I will have the home to myself.
So far only made it to the gym one day this week. Planning to go today after work and not going to let me talk myself out of it. I always feel better after, just getting there is hard.
Blessings, Vicki GRAND ISLAND, NE2
