I'm still organizing my trip in June to see eldest sister in Shedd, OR, and cousin coming from Arizona. I will take an Amtrak down, but not sure how to organize middle son visit. They lead a busy life, he is at school during the day, wife is full time at a medical clinic, and Athena is at a fulltime babysitter which she loves by the way. Its a home daycare, the gal has two kids so she is just one of the pack. So thinking its best to do a weekend visit with husband. We can spend thise two days with them, doing whatever. Thinking its going to be 2 separate trips. One trip to see sister and cousins family. Another trip with Lee, a weekend visit with sons family, and the coast. Just need to look at Amtrak schedule.
My eldest has phoned and texted more than my youngest has in the 3 years he's been gone. I am thankful! He has chosen a place off base, with a two car garage, a carport, 3 bedrooms and a gourmet kitchen...😂😋. Its in a private gated community, with an HOA, so he's feeling comfortable about that. He gets an overseas housing allowance so his place is like $250 over what he's allowed. Then he's also getting a $700 utilities allowance so really he can just pocket so much of his take home pay. He is paying his half of the rent here though, which he's able to do. I told him during our last call that he needs to really pay attention to his money coming in and going out the next couple of months. We can always store his stuff in a storage unit, and get a smaller place if we have to. He said he would, and so we'll see how it all goes.👍💖
Of course my go to feeling about seeing family is to go into hyper diet mode and try to get slimmer for what, their approval??? Oh Rebecca get it together! My sister and cousin accept me regardless so just keep doing what I am doing, and don't freak out!
Hugs ladies, and welcome all you new ladies!

Debbie— Cherry tomatoes are a favorite snack. Yum! I grew a cherry tomato plant a few years ago that was huge and prolific. I encouraged our neighbors to eat as much as they wanted. It was overwhelming. Last summer I planted a couple of smaller cherry tomato plants and ended up frustrated. The plants I bought were dwarf cherry tomatoes that didn’t produce more than 2 or 3 tomatoes. Part of the problem was too much shade. This year I’ll skip it and buy the cherry tomatoes at the grocery store ready to eat.
I have been successful growing blueberries at home. We love them. Unfortunately the deer love them too. I solved that problem by covering the blueberry plants with large nets. WIN! I freeze the blueberries and we enjoy defrosting them to eat on top of the cottage cheese that we like for breakfast. YUM!1 -
Rebecca - Amtrak is fun. I hope you’ll be able to enjoy a trip to visit your sister and cousin. ❤️0

This is a sign of being too tired. I baked a pan of peanut butter bar cookies and they were sitting on the counter cooling. As soon as they were out of the oven I started on a chicken casserole for tonight's dinner. It’s a layered chicken dish (King Ranch Chicken Casserole)... definitely not diet friendly but that's what we're craving ...and I was to put half of the chicken mixture in the 9x13 casserole. Yep. I put a heaping mound of mixed chicken and soups on top of the peanut butter cookies!🤦♀️🤣 But because I’m tired, I simply scraped the chicken mixture off the cookies and put it where it belonged in the casserole. And I took paper towels and wiped off the cookies!! LOL! At least I wasn’t planning on taking them to anyone … and my guys will eat anything. (The chicken was already cooked before assembly ... so no poisoning worries).

We've had a nice quiet Sunday. Boyfriend has been feeling better since his child alter has gotten over its anxiety attack about me having surgery and being in the hospital. I'm home now and fine and able to do some of the little things I like to do for him since really I'm just to the point of having a randomly itchy incision on my neck, and I feel fine. I'm still going to wait a bit to lift heavy things, but I think since I can turn my head without pain or pulling I can probably do a little light sweeping and wiping the counters and such. That would be nice, cause we have three cats and it gets a little furry round the edges without regular dust and sweep!
Also, my period showed up because I don't have enough going on or something. (eyeroll) We could quit this any flipping time. Really.
We're really viewing aspects of this as sort of a test run for when I get my breast reduction. Then, he's not going to have the luxury of falling apart. He's going to need to take care of me for a couple weeks straight; to the point quite possibly of helping me in the bathroom. But when I came out of surgery I had a meltdown due to lights/noise/remains of anesthetics in my system, and he helped me through that and got me into a quieter room and did all the right things, so I am sure that he can do the right things, we'll just have to work out how to make it happen.
I had a phone call with my mom, who is in Sanibel Island with her sisters. They get together every chance they can because they are very close and the oldest of them is in her nineties, and, well, one never knows. She was glad to hear that everything went well with the surgery and to hear that my voice had recovered, which it has. Unfortunately, my younger son seems to have blown up his relationship by doing something stupid and impulsive. He was dating a really nice guy this time, and I'm sorry. Of course, this is the son that always had to learn not to do things by, well, doing them. So unfortunately it's par for the course and I hope it's a learning experience.
Tonight for dinner I made Chicken With Chinese Mushrooms and rice, with an egg roll for Boyfriend and Girlfriend with dipping sauce. (I can't have egg rolls cause cabbage.) It was stupendously good and we are now all sitting round in food comas. It also means that tomorrow I can start logging again and eating my "regular" diet, since I was able to eat that without pain. This makes me happy. I bet I can start riding the bike again too, since that isn't going to mess with my incision if I keep it at a slow pace. This is all good.

get something like Sweet 100, Sungold or something like that- the sungold are great but the do tend to split when you pick them. They are pretty yellow/orange and really produce. Sweet 100 are reds, good producer and don't split as much.
I won't buy store bought tomatoes when they are in season.(rarely do even out of season)2 -

Your post is the first time I’ve used the “insightful” button.
In the morning it doesn’t hurt, when I start walking the pain is there but nothing to complain about, yesterday I kept track and it was about mike 3 of walking was when it was bad., I couldn’t get past a 3.0 pace walk which is not fast for me. At a stop light it would slow down. It’s not my stomach that hurts it’s the side of my stomach and mostly on the right side only. In the front part, not the back.
Have you had your appendix out?1 -
I’ve had Sweet 100 tomatoes and they’re wonderful. The plant was HUGE. I gave away many tomatoes. I don’t plan to grow any tomatoes this year, but I could change my mind.1

Tomatoes, especially cooked tomatoes, taste metallic to me.
But fresh raw ones aren't too bad with lots of salt.

This morning, inbox messages from shortly after midnight back to Jan 1 year all moved to trash. Suspicious timing with the creepy FB cover pic change. Now I’m afraid to back up my system or work on taxes. Pfaugh. Copied most recent files to the older external hard drive then took the laptop to the pc guy for “tuneup” and cleansing. He’ll work on the microphone/Zoom problem at the same time. Then this morning got an email alert that my social security number was found on the Dark Web. Went to Experian and entered a free one month fraud alert. Using Joe’s laptop for now, wireless turned off and connected via ethernet. Double Pfaugh.
Lighter, lovelies!

Hi all. Made it skimming through a bunch of pages. I was in Fiji for 10 days and didn’t check in at all. Barely bothered to check email. The mister tested negative 1 day before the trip, so we went.
Hugs to those needing them.

:)I love tomatoes. I buy a package of plum tomatoes from QFC every week and keep them on the counter and snack on them like I used to snack on M&Ms A perfect way to get more nutrition and deal with the munchies.
Probably the smartest thing I did when the pandemic started was to create a plan for organized, regular, and intentional shopping. At first we went to the grocery store once every four weeks with a carefully curated list. Later we switched to weekly trips for curbside grocery pickup. We go to Costco every few months at their early senior hours and quickly get what's on the list and get out quickly. We buy a few things that aren't available in either of those stores online to be delivered to the house. There is no such thing as "running to the store for something we forgot". If we forgot it, it has to wait til the next scheduled order. We buy pet food and supplies from Chewy online to be delivered to the house.
I finished watching the figure skating at the Olympics--all while riding my exercise bike so I was active while watching TV. In my next life I'd like a different body and figure skating lessons starting at age 3.
