Yikes! Skip a day and it turns into 4 days and 10+ pages!!!
Belated welcome sspell1958 , @lolitahuggins and @mitchandsamsmom !
Machka “scorpions and jackjumpers” had to google jack jumpers and scroll through a lot of basketball sites to get to the jack jumper ants you have there. Yah no barefoot there for me!
Barbie love your attitude about lessons in patience
Kylia what are warming bears and warming horses for your cars? Looking down through that tower’s glass floor through your feet made me go “Urk” Lovely pic of you both, handsome couple.
Ginny what stretches do you do with those toe spacers?
Rebecca lovely letter, “…in each of us” wonderful response. Welcome Eli! Sounds like those were healthful happy tears. What a relief after so many sad ones…
Margaret thanks for the Organized Enough and Stuff Your Face or … recommendations
Heather I wouldn’t be stressed, after going near postal I’d be catatonic.
Con VERY gratulations pip and Kirby! Very well done!
Tracey fingers Xd for the EI.
Vicki “Lanette--Love you too. You are an important part of my life, all you ladies are.” Amen, sister, amen!
Joy ((hugs))
Rita Yay you indeed!
Beth the estimate to replace some siding on the front of our house is $500 materials and $1800 labor.
Lanette thanks for yours on blue zones, mouth breathing etc. especially your reflections on activity. Been thinking too, about Machka’s info on how fat leaves the body through the lungs and not the colon. That what I really want is less fat around the middle, not a smaller number on the scale.
Only through pg 18 but time to sleep.
Gratitudes:

September: Move more, fuel better (less sugar), live mindfully with people, dogs, open heart and mind before mouth. Never miss an opportunity to keep the mouth shut!
2023: Be of good cheer.
Yes, I am happy to be swimming in happy tears. Sleeping so much better! And this is without any sleep aides. Last night had some swirling vertigo episodes though, so not happy about those. I think a sinus cold is coming on, or its just the cooling temps. My neck, and ears are sore abit. Might take some cold meds tonight.
Today I was treated to my favorite fish food truck for lunch. Our island Optimist Club had a free shredding day so we made a donation and gave them a it bag of documents to be shredded. Then husband wanted McDonald's, so went there, and then he took me to where the food truck parks. I tried their cod sandwich. It was hefty with 2 pieces of cod plus lettuce, onions and pickles. We took it all home and watched Navy football. We won, I can't recall who we played, but I am not much of a follower of football anyways.
Before our outing, we watched "Woody Woodpecker show" and husband colored in his new coloring book. We are an odd couple huh?😂
Husband doesn't remember the cartoon being so silly. He admitted that cartoons weren't intently followed as a boy, mostly background noise eating cereal. I recall it being a time when it was the one day we could get up, without our parents and eat whatever, and watch whatever! We could not except for emergencies, wake our parents up.
Enjoy the day all!

Rebecca - That's pretty much my routine as well... I had my doubts about that bit of plastic at the top of the mop head myself, but I figure if I wash my tennis shoes occasionally, which I do, the washer will survive the mop head. Plus that was one of the main selling points for me--not having to touch the mophead. (It's possible I'm a domestic princess, as well as a domestic goddess... )
I want to know immediately if things are going to make it through, so I pitch them into the washer on their first use. Much like my mother, who pretty much put everything through the dishwasher. She said if something wouldn't make it through the dishwasher, she didn't want it in her kitchen... If they didn't have cloth or plush fur as part of them, she would even put the grandkids' toys through the dishwasher, and anything she bought at a garage sale or yard sale.
Anyway, off to get Corey a cup of coffee, he's up early this morning. He and I had an interesting debate last night on what drove the feminist movement of the 1960s - grew out of my recent attention to domestic matters. Love talking to him.
And y'all!
Later y'all,
Love,
Lisa in AR
Our washer and dryer are a bit on the sketchy side, being they were used before son bought them. Then transporting them upstairs was a miracle in itself! The outside bit is independent from the inside drum, so it can "walk" if you put heavy things in it. Son and husband opened the thing up when it wasn't draining properly, and noticed a sensor button wasn't being pressed properly. They fixed it with a well placed ziptie, so lord knows how long that thingy is gonna last. I have dreams of water cascading down the carpeted stairs....🙄😁😂. Knocking on wood at that thought.

Finished the jigsaw puzzle. We went to the fair last night (Vince was just a spectator). Lectored at the church tonight (Sat). Worked at the soup kitchen yesterday. Tues was the last day this month for me to count the donations at the church. Worked Wed. because the store mgr was on vacation and the asst. mgr. Needed help. I think she does some prep on Wed. They got new shelves for the refrig at BK and I think right now I’ve got it figured out how we can do the prep. Going to run it by the store mgr. Monday. Been in the pool. Jess said she’ll probably come here next weekend (I’m guessing to use the pool)
Allie – I, too, missed that you ran over your foot. What happened? I’m so glad you had a great cruise. We have a southpaw, huh” This cruise may be at an end, but the memories never end
Been pulling weeds around the pool. See, we’re going to put down these blocks (yea, makes it easier for me to mow) but first I have to get rid of the weeds that are around the pool. If I do a little each night for a few nights, I’ll get it done. Took some plastic gloves from BK. Not that that’s a real expensive item, and not like I took a whole lot
Walking around the neighborhood. The other day took a walk to Food Lion and the dollar store. Needed to return an item at the dollar store so I got Halloween cards for everyone.
Lisa – congrats to you and your daughter. You certainly raised one really great gal. So sorry to hear her ex is giving problems.
REALLY not liking this getting dark so early stuff. M – you are so so lucky that you are starting summertime
Tracey – congrats on the certification. I knew you could do it!
Rita – Vince took his area 51 train to the fair one night and he said it was the hit of the night with the kids. When we went this one person had a spaceship and a cow would go up into it. I thought that was cool
Welcome everyone new!
Debbie – I love to marinate meat before grilling.
Barbie – I’m so glad to hear that you are going to adopt Bodhi. He’s one lucky pup, that’s for sure
Katie – I prefer the “hands and knees” to clean my floor. One time I was using Mop and Glo and Vince commented “it’s called MOP and Glow for a reason” because I was on my hands and knees
katla – how is your hubby? How often do you get to see him?
Pip – when will Bette be sold?
Since I don’t work tomorrow, the plan is to do a Kettleworx Cardio DVD. Speaking of Kettle Bells, anyone know where Mary is?
Hot flash coming on so time for frozen grapes!
Cindy – congrats on the loss. Awesome!
Rosa – glad the eye isn’t hurting you. It’ll get better
Carol – we used to have a little stool for my father to use to get up into our Ram Charger back in the day
Better get to bed.

Weeds can also be killed by taking cardboard dampen with water not soaked cut to size lay over area and it will kill the weeds. You can lay the blocks right over it. Food for thought.
That's what we do. But we don't dampen the cardboard.
The last couple weekends, I've been laying a rock boarder. I've pulled up a lot of the weeds and grass, then put cardboard down and the loaf-of-bread sized rocks on top.

Good morning all! I have been reading everyone's posts the past couple of weeks. I will try to remember everything. These last two weeks of summer are crazy. One week I plan a party every day. This year we had
a water party ( temps in the 90s) and I set up two different slip n slide areas, sprinkler area, water table, bubbles and of course the kids made chalk paint and mud. The second party was a Luau with treasure hunt, third party was Christmas in the Summer. We made ornaments, gingerbread houses, and had hot cocoa (this day was rainy and cooler; so the activities went over well). fourth party was a pajama party (thank god, bc I needed the rest) and the fifth party of the week was a camp out. I set up a couple of tents in the yard and we roasted hotdogs and had s'mores and sang camp songs. The second week was off to school week. As the week progressed, children would spend their last day(s) and then be off to school. All four of my "big kids" are going to different schools this year. One is at the montessori school, one at the arts/academics academy, one at the christian school, and one at the public school. I am also losing two four year olds to "pre-school" this year. One at the Y preschool and the other at the public preschool. That leaves me with room for five children. Only one can be under 18 months. I have posted the openings on a few public sites, but so far only one spot filled. I am more than a bit anxious about this and so, of course, now that my vacation time is here; I am sick. *sigh* The cold that I had a couple of weeks ago kind of hung in there with a little cough and voice hoarseness. But it has reared it's ugly head again. I am glad I am now on vacation and can sleep whenever I am tired and "do things" when I feel the urge to do things. BUT...it has also got me thinking about tackling this cold in a more "holistic/natural" way. I have been watching a few Barbara O'Neill videos. Have any of you heard of her? Do any of you use a more holistic approach to illness or illness prevention?
Along with Barbara O'Neill, I am also reading Michael Pollan (This is your mind on plants) and also watched the Blue Zone documentary (really interesting info). I feel like I have dug myself into this hole of "not-well being", due to stress, depression, exhaustion and I am hoping this vacation will give me the inspiration and rest I need to begin the climb out of the hole.
Pip- Sending you all of the good/safe vibes as you make your "ride" today! You truly are an inspiration and I can't wait to see your stats!
Katla- So glad you have the hummingbirds to watch and give you joy! They are so sweet and small (but mighty flyers).
Machka- I use the same type of mop. I am a big "cheapo" though and just use cloths instead of the pricey wet mop towels.
Barbie- Sorry to hear about Jake's ankle/knee injuries. I have injured both of mine (muscle/tendon strains). I have to say, the knee caused me the worse pain and longest healing time. A soft leg brace did wonders to remind me to keep it still and take it easy. Love hearing how your new pup is settling in.
Lanette- Your chicken stories just make my day! I would love to find "surprise" eggs! It is like starting your day with a scavenger hunt! lol
Annie- I bet if you can give your knee a day or two of rest; it will be all the stronger for it! Sit back and enjoy your books!
Heather- Your painting turned out wonderful! Yea, for you and the beach runs getting a little easier! Also...can your grands get any cuter?! You must have the three most active grandchildren in the Hove area!
Lisa-I enjoyed hearing about Johnny and his friend's visit. In fact, I enjoy hearing about your relationship with your kids and Corey. Just to think that it was all new, when I first "met" you on this group.
Rebecca- What an amazing month you have had!! The "boys" brought the joy. First Owain rings in the beginning of the month and then Eli rings in his arrival! Woo-hoo! Can I just say that I can hear/feel the joy in your posts. Your posts are "brighter". Hugs to you!
Rosemarie- Get rest and take care of yourself! Are we sick of covid, yet? Ugh!
Welcome to all of the new girls! A big hello and hugs to Rori, Beth, Michele, Barbara, Margaret, Tracey, Katie, Vicki, Tere, Kate, Kylia and all who are going through my mind, but I can't remember anything beyond sending you hugs!

Its been amazing! The last two times I have video chatted with my eldest sister, we have both just bawled at each other💖😁. She is so happy for me, but there is a moment when we realize that her grief will never suddenly change for the better like mine, because her husband will never be able to come back in her life. But she is doing the best she can. She is my hero, and I value our emotional outlet. I will always take the emotional messy of my eldest sister and I, over the detached, superficial and easy conversations my middle sister and I have. My eldest sister and I are both Gemini's so our relationship has always been emotional.💖
I count my blessings and thank the powers that be, that have answered my prayers. I am not a religious person, but I know many people have been praying for me. I even prayed for me! It has all worked out. You forgot to mention our other stress was that eldest sailor made 1st Class. That was another thing out of our control. Its amazing how, that when you stop letting a stress you have no control over, how life works it out. If anything, I have learned that for things that aren't up to me, that when I let it all go, things happen as they should. Whatever the outcome, I haven't let it overtake my days, and my thoughts.
Hugs!

Cindy, in Pensacola, Yes when my son said that, my heart hurt it was so sweet.💖 He has always been my emphatic one. The fact that he learned to speak when we were stationed in Japan changed him a bit. As a boy, it didn't matter how peopled talked to him, but it mattered how kids treated him. His voice had a European accent, for some unusual reason, and he went to speech class. Kids didn't really listen to what he said, but how he said things. So he had trouble integrating into converations.
But he's an adult now, and still wears his heart on his sleeve. He was our room mate when he was stationed here on Whidbey Island. Still is, but he's in Guam now. Soon he will be heading to Japan. The life of a sailor! We are retired Navy so its all the life we know.😁💖
What I used to see daily.💖

Heather - I wish I was able to lay on the couch all day and eat Candy. I get too restless when I don’t do much.
Great painting!
Lisa - I think it was in 2016 the are where our family is in NB lost power for in some places up to 12 days. My brother and mother lost it for 9. They were fortunate that they had wood stoves and barbecues, and oil lanterns. My brother bought a generator shortly after this, and he claims it’s his insurance policy. He hasn’t needed it, but figures if he sells it he’ll need it.
What brand of spin mop did you buy?
Annie - I live my life in bare feet. I only put shoes on if it’s a mandatory occurrence. I will wear my flip flops well into Winter. They usually get put away only when the snow is up to my toes.
Pip - good luck tomorrow.
I was curious about jury duty here, I knew that legally your employer had to give you leave but no pay. I wasn’t sure if people were paid or not, but looked and the pay is $50/day.
Rosemarie - I had coworkers that were down and out for 2 weeks with Covid. I myself suffered with fatigue more than anything.
Heather - we were never able to let our girls join a lot of activities. I worked shift work for a while, we didn’t have a car for a while, we didn’t have the money. We also felt if they were over scheduled they didn’t have time to be bored and learn what their interests were. They both were in Sea Cadets for many years though. It was one program that they actually were paid to do.
Kelly - I am always so impressed with what you do with the kiddos.
I’m sorry you are sick on vacation again. It’s almost like your body knows when you’ll have a chance to relax.
Cindy - does that cardboard thing work if I just put it around plants I want to keep? Should I do it in the Spring?
I managed to get my name changed on my SIN yesterday. She told me most people don’t get this changed until they’re looking for their pension. I’m just a tad early. 😉
I worked on a birthday present for my grandson today. It needs an adjustment and then I’ll take a picture.
Kaitlyn is coming tomorrow and we are working on the other pieces I started. The instruction video for putting it together is almost 2 hours!

Our heatwave is still with us. The humidity is very draining,
Pip: 🥳 congratulations 🥳 I knew you were going to smash it out of the ballpark.
Having an active rest day today. Already did my 20 minute HIIT session. We will Skype with family after lunch. Next week is going to be a tad less busy. Monday Painters after lunch tomorrow; Craft Tuesday morning; weekly shopping on Wed morning; flower arranging on Thursday afternoon; Latin Study starts Friday morning.
Card making on Fri went well we worked on using a stamping platform, and I made 2 Xmas cards, and some gingerbread men embellishments. The 2 hours just flew by.
🥂 cheers 🥂

Belated welcome @Tracergirl. If the scale is stuck are your measurements improving?
Machka the intorvertdoodles self care meme.
Heather the painting. The layers and layers and depth, I feel as if I were standing in your home looking out through the dining room being drawn into the garden. Lovely.
Lisa hooray for favorable blood work results. Glad to hear of VIt C instead of yet more prescription drugs. Tumble is like Egg with her routines. She far prefers to go out with Joe, but I will do in a pinch.
Kylia those warming bears sound so cozy. How big are they?
Annie, haven’t used my knee brace since getting PT and doing the exercises daily-ish… but I know where it is… ;}
Cindy thanks for the reminder about honey on skin cuts.
KJ 5 openings would make me anxious too. Hope your cold eases and you can wholly recuperate during your vacation time.
Rita that is a cool portable scale!
Pip con VERY gratulations on the MS ride. You rocked it!
Lanette local raw honey here is up to $18 a pint, and crystallizes if it lasts more than a couple of months, happens more often now that I’m not adding it to my tea
Tracey “My brother bought a generator . . .it’s his insurance. . . He hasn’t needed it, but figures if he sells it he’ll need it.” That is exactly my insurance superstition. Sound practice for stuff like car/home/health insurance and generators, not so much for my collections of stuff I might need… ;{
Don’t remember when I figured out Santa, but do remember as a pre-schooler when Santa came to the house one Christmas eve to hand me my tiny tears doll. I made mama hide Easter Eggs for as long as she’d do it.

Barbara AHMOD-the spacers are a stretching part alone-not other exercise while wearing them. Keep them on for 15 mins twice a day. I do heel drops and toe lifts. Also so some stretches using half roller.
Spent most all of Saturday just resting. Got flu vaccine and TDAP-just felt achy and tired so decided not to fight it for the day. Took SIL to Verizon store-her phone screen went black and wouldn't come back. She took it to the store in her smaller town and they couldn't do anything for it. Since account in my name I have to deal with it. Walked in to the store by my house, young man first tried a different reset sequence (usually just use volume up button on one side and then button on right). He hit volume up, volume down the the right button quickly in sequence and it rebooted. Still have plenty of time on warranty to monitor.
Need to catch up on weekend stuff today so need to get started. Will do check book and bills first-then move on to walk, house stuff and a couple of work items.
Take care all,

Wow! Edie was AMAZING at the triathlon. She came in 2nd girl!
2nd girl out of the swim.
1st girl out of the biking.
2nd girl overall. Finished with a stitch and feeling sick, but kept going. So determined!
And yes, I did cry. To think she's not yet 10!
I found the long, hot walk home too much. It took me well over an hour and my aductor muscle sized up for the last 200 yards. I called in at the shop for milk and a sweet young man gave me a chair and some water. I had to call DH to come and get the shopping.
I had told him to walk on ahead of me as I was having to sit down every 200 yards. He annoys me because he gets so frustrated, so I'd rather totter along on my own.
Back home now, relaxing, but my thigh is horrible 😫.

Questions for those of you who use Kindle.
I have the Kindle App (I think).
And I think I've used it to read one free book.
The app I'm using has this icon below. Is that the Kindle app?
Are there free books?
Do I have to buy books?
Can I "take books out" like a library or from a library?
Thanks!!
I have always preferred to read books on paper. But occasionally it might be more convenient not to carry a paper book.

Machka - In reverse order,
Can I "take books out" like a library or from a library? Yes, you can take Kindle books out from the library if you have the Kindle app, but only if your library offers them. You can talk to any librarian and they can make sure you have what you need. Here, I just need my library card number. They may offer them for another app, which they should be able to give you access to, and can guide you to their search function. It is so limited here in Arkansas that it just hasn't been useful for me, but I know a number of folks on here download free from their libraries quite often. They just put a date on them of returning, and will disable your access to the book at that point unless you renew it prior.
Are there free books? Do I have to buy books? Yes and no. You can find a lot of books on Amazon for free by simply typing "free Kindle books" in the search and downloading those that interest you. These are seldom ones I'm interested in, but my husband reads five or six of them each week. I pay $10 monthly for Kindle Unlimited, which gives me a number of books for free (they're labeled Kindle Unlimited) - and if I reach my limit, I just have to return some of those I've downloaded. These are often titles that do interest me, like older best sellers, and a lot of non-fiction.
And yes, that is the Kindle app icon.

Barbara I will post picture as soon as I grab my laptop but they are as small as 6 in up to over a foot long. Weights vary.
HeatherUK So proud of your grands! Wow! Sorry about the thigh. It really is cramping your style! I agree with Machka. Electrolytes? I drink one bottle of Electrolytes a day along with regular water. It seems to help my leg/foot cramps.
Machka Yes, that is the Kindle symbol. I have had it for a long time. Yes, some books are free at least with Amazon prime.
Pip Congratulations! We knew you would do it! You are such an inspiration to us.
This weekend was "Shades of the past" car show for over 30 years. The original organizers retired last year with no one picking it up. Still lots of cars on the strip but definitely hurting the local economy. A group of folks trying to start up another show to take its place. We walked up yesterday afternoon. Unfortunately rain was moving in so a lot of cars left. We took shelter for almost an hour under a deserted mall awning while it stormed around us. Had a great conversation with another couple also sheltering. It was still light raining when we headed back to car. I was freezing. Thankful for lots of stores. DH bought me another sweatshirt. He is getting better at following body cues when walking with me. Normally it is warning of parking blocks, ups and downs in the sidewalk, and stairs. Yesterday it was dodging standing water too. We stopped at one of our favorite restaurants halfway back when rain picked up. A couple of drinks and early dinner before finishing our walk. Got back to "Man Cave" and my car before it downpours again. Inspite of rain was really a good day. I hope this car show takes off for the economy. Next weekend is the "Rod Run". It is crazy busy and a younger crowd (or has been in the past). We will leave next Saturday.
I need to figure out when to get steps in at home. I feel much better. Will continue to keep aware of reactions to body after eating eggs. Really? We tend to eat a lot of them, but slowed down here. I noticed tummy issues after breakfast a couple of mornings, so have been eating oatmeal instead. There was egg on my salad last night and yummy wasn't happy.
Time to post a couple of pictures and do some work.
Much love,

Thanks Lisa! I think I've successfully downloaded 3 books. We'll see how I go with them.
And I discovered that my library has an app that apparently talks to Kindle. But I'm going to have to go in and see someone about it.

Sunday -- we went to a beekeeping meeting today. These monthly meetings are on again now that spring is here.
Then did a bit of shopping and put away my laundry. At some point, I will have to go through my closet and drawers again to do a clear-out.
I was planning to spend the afternoon in the garden, but it was rainy and cold ... so we all ended up napping. My husband, my cat and me. I was out for 2 hours!! I just felt so tired.

Just a little foggy this morning, but humid and chilly
PIcture of the rain while we were waiting it out.

Sorry to hear about your pains. I would have cried too . That’s very impressive.2 -
Just letting y'all know that Julie (bananasandoranges) says HI! She is hoping life will slow down some in 2024.8

Heather - I'm so sorry your thigh muscle is seizing up on you again. It sounds horribly painful. Love the pictures of the girls; they are so full of light and intensity, both of them, and well done to both. I totally get not wanting to walk with the DH. Corey gets frustrated with me, as my knees slow me down a bit, so I just ignore him and let him keep walking. I walk at the pace that I do for a reason, and some days are better than others. The heat really takes my breath away because of the AFib, as well, slowing me down even more. I get there eventually, I just won't necessarily get there at his pace!
Tracey - The spin mop is an O-Cedar.
Kylia - Thanks for the gorgeous pictures... kinda lovin' the bears.
Pip - Congratulations!
KJ - I hope you find the solution to getting ill the moment you go on vacation. So frustrating!
Just gorgeously cool this morning, with a heavy dew outside, so every joint is aching--and I just don't care... it's so nice to not be sweating the second I set foot outside my bedroom! The house is holding nicely at 72 degrees, and I probably won't have to close windows to stay cool until early afternoon... Unfortunately, I forgot and left the laundry on the line yesterday, so it got soaked with the dew, but it will dry again by this afternoon.
Oh, and the electricity bill came through for August, the hottest month of the year, and our bill continued to drop sharply. We've saved nearly $800 over last year's bills so far! The window air conditioners have literally paid for themselves already, and will add to the overall savings each year. That's not even counting the fact that we didn't have to spend $10,000 to put in a new whole-house system. We will pull the window units down and store them once the temperature stays below 75 degrees outside, and hopefully extend their usable life for a number of years.
Later, y'all...
Love,
Lisa in cool, green Arkansas

Cindy- the weekly Accountability post was created a couple months ago for anyone who wanted to post their weight loss or challenges or anything, lol. I figure if I have to post somewhere whether I'm making progress or not, that might keep me accountable. I had gained 8 or 9 pounds since my DH passed last year, clothing was longer fitting and it had to stop.
The format is real open, some of us post actual pounds gained or lost or just progress toward goals, whatever those might be. Totally voluntary. If you want to be added to the weekly post, friend me here on MFP then you can message me your info by the end of the day Sunday or early Monday. I try to get it posted by noon my time - Pacific Time.
I'm thinking of changing it from Accountability to "Weekly Check-in".
Barbara - I see you are down into the 120's! I admire your tenacity in working toward your goals.
Ginny - did an MD or PT advise you to use those toe spacers or did you come up with that yourself? Think I might have to go that route with the toes on my right foot that I managed to bash last year. I massage and manually stretch those toes which helps some.
If I was able to make one part of my body like it was 50 years ago, it would be my feet! The saggy and jiggly parts don't bother me that much.
Kylia - love the photos and I sure remember the chilly rains coming through Indiana on hot days. Do you know what the trees are in the foreground in your mountain pictures? The compound leaves - almost look like some type of Ash? Beautiful. Sorry to hear about the eggs possibly giving your tummy fits. Sometimes avoiding them for a while will fix things right up and you'll be able to eat them again.
Heather - so sorry to hear about your thigh. Edie had a spectacular performance. Love hearing about your grands.
Machka - I get all my Kindle books free through the local library. They have an arrangement with Amazon - when I click to download one, I'm taken to the Amazon website. For the longest time I thought I'd miss having a hard copy in my hands, but now I prefer the Kindle since it's so portable.
Yesterday was "get ready for winter" day. I always make sure I have plenty of "flush water" on hand in case we have a power outage, and I bought 6 gallons of fresh bottled water. I have loads of old jugs but wanted to lay in fresh. Need to grab more gas for the generator.
Make it a great day, ladies!

Lisa - Of course, I am totally in love. But to see such a young person taking on such a professional challenge is amazing. Her concentration and determination touches the heart. She ran the last part with a bad stitch and was nearly sick.
It was such a change from last year, when everything was more informal. Now she is a year older, it is all done by the book, like real athletes. The swim distance in the sea seemed amazing to me!
The boy who won, her friend at the Tri club, came in minutes ahead of the opposition! A future star. Talk about grace and lightness. He also won the Eastbourne Tri.
I walked about 4 miles this morning, after getting up at 5.45. Plus a lot of standing around. And it was hot after about 8.30. I had a good breakfast of muesli, fruit and yoghurt, and a cup of tea. I took water with me, and drank it. I had an ice cream there.
I have an auto immune problem, which is hugely annoying. I took painkillers.
I was OK until about 3 miles, and then gradually slowed up. My thigh didn't give up until the last 200 yards, so that's a big improvement on 6 weeks ago, when I could only do a mile and a half before it kicked in. I do PT for it every day. I had bloodwork done for just about everything two weeks ago and everything was normal.
I am 74 in 3 weeks time.
