We did not lose electricity at our house, but our church friends about 8 miles east of us had a tree fall that not only took the power pole next to it down, but ripped their meter box right off the side of their house. They will probably be out of power for a while.
We have gotten 10 inches of rain over the last two days, and it is still falling. I think the worst has passed, though. We were lucky. I’m still not ready to let the water out of the tub. If our power goes out, we cannot flush the toilets.
I have successfully met my goals of logging, staying in a calorie deficit, and walking 10,000 steps for 2 days. Today marks exactly one month until the big 7-0. You all will have to hold me accountable. My husband refuses. He says he doesn’t want to be yelled out if I decide to sit in my chair instead of walking or have an inappropriate snack. He has been married to me too long!
Michele, nope! I use liquid detergent and not a whole lot of it - maybe 2 tablespoons. I think it’s probably the energy-saving water levels. I’m not sure it’s detergent residue. Like Machka, I think it may be something else. I’m just not sure what. It is always on black clothes - either workout leggings or knit dress pants. I never have this problem in my light-colored load.4 -
Went to the kidney doctor yesterday and saw a new NP. I really liked her but was confused about the bloodwork and she had prescribed 4 new meds for me. So off I went to the PO, then was headed to wait in Dentist parking lot when the NP called me back. She apologized profusely that she had the wrong patient’s bloodwork and wanted to go over it with me on the phone. She also wanted me to go back to “pee in a cup” as the other lab report said I had a UTI. So it was lucky that this office was between the PO and dentist, and I had plenty of time, so went back there and took care of this. Went to the dentist and was on my way to Walmart to pick up the ‘4 meds’ when the NP called back and said I only needed 1, the water pill. I was happy about that! The best part was that my insurance paid 100% of that new pill. Oh, yeah, the dentist was a cleaning-no cavities or anything to worry about.
Tiring and long day!

Good morning ladies!
Carol, I wondered how you were doing. Good you didn't lose power, hope the winds die down and your trees stay upright. I've been following the hurricane - sounds like this one is really a doozy, hope all of you in its path are doing well. Will Ginny and Kylia get some effects too? Looks like my bro in n. central Indiana might get some wind today.
Katiebug - good news for you too. I have the same toilet flushing dilemma with power outages too so have "flush water" ready.
Laundry detergent comment - I used to use the liquid detergent pods but I'd find sticky goo left on some of the laundry. I still use them sometimes but clip the pouches and squeeze out the detergent into a plastic container in the laundry sink with hot water. Toss the empty pouch into the trash. I sometimes use a little Bora team or Oxi-Clean and always pre-dissolve the powder in the container of hot water as well and add other liquid detergent like Purex. I pour everything over the laundry in the washer rather than put it in the bottom. My washer is the Speed Queen with locking lid, that's all they had at the appliance store and so far no problems, but I miss the ancient Whirlpool laundry set we inherited on the farm and wish we would have brought it with us to this house (along with the fridge!!).
Debbie - I had left over pot roast for dinner last night - I know this is too late for the suggestion. I did another freezer cleanout this morning and plan to make a chicken/white bean soup with the frozen chicken broth and rotisserie chicken I dug out. It's really becoming soup weather!
Sue - boy, families sure can be complicated. Sending hugs your way!
Rita - glad the new NP caught her mistake quickly. Whew! Enough with the pills already! Good news at the dentist, glad your medical appointments are caught up for now.
Mo - I have attended a variety of churches during my life, but never Baptist. I haven't been able to find a church I liked as much as the very tiny Methodist one I attended when we lived on the farm and even became the Communion steward. Right now I'm drawn to on-line services at a local Assembly of God, and to be honest, there's not much difference (to me) as long as the pastors deliver a good message. I also am a fan of the old church hymns that I grew up hearing. My grandmother's favorites.
Lisa - happy to hear you won't be left out in the lurch with the closing of that VA gastro department. Love those sock preservers, by the way. Did you find a pattern for them or did you create them yourself? I like the idea of Sock Stop. I saved back some of DH's old socks for something like this but couldn't figure out how to make them non-slip.... thank you!! Always love your creative ideas.
My sense of smell returned yesterday morning, so basically it was a 24 hour "outage".

My right arm has been bothersome. I thought it might be a return of my post cancer op lymphodema, because of putting on weight, then I thought it was probably because it was doing a lot of the work associated with my dodgy knee and hips, like turning over in bed, and supporting my weight on the banisters going downstairs. Anyway, last night I was heaving myself into position in bed when something pinged inside my bicep. It is quite sore now. Typing on my tablet, as I am doing now, is painful. I can still move it OK.
So, I didn't row today, but I did 10 minutes on the recumbent bike after lunch, and the usual mid night exercises.
I did write today, and took 'Life' up to the start of photosynthesis. Next I'm going to write about my mother taking my father back after their broken engagement in the war. She always said she made the wrong decision! She was probably right, but I'm glad her judgement was faulty.
I managed to apply my brain to sending DDIL suggestions for John and my birthday presents. I've landed on a selection of sizes of stretched canvases, and a new set of brushes in a fabric roll, which we can both share. John hasn't done any canvas painting yet, and I've done very little, so we can have fun.
I still haven't booked my birthday lunch yet, but I think I have decided where. The posh fish restaurant. It has no background music. I was going to try a new place, but I might be too nervous about it, so I might book that for G and me next Friday. They do a cheaper lunch. Less invested.
Lunch was smoked mackerel sandwiches, and tonight is homemade pizza with leeks, mozzarella, and anchovies. We had salmon a couple of days ago, so we are up with our oily fish this week! Friday night is wine night - usually an Italian red, if it's pizza night.
Trying a new recipe tomorrow. John bought some mushrooms today. They are supposed to be open ones, but I can use closed, with added dried porcini. I'm also using the two big packets of spinach in the fridge instead of kale. Then it's pasta shapes, and a cheesy bechamel. Bake! Yummo. I would have preferred cavalo Nero, but the spinach is nagging at me!
Annie - I am always horribly nervous and depressed before I go away. I hate it! But it's always worth it. Every time I wonder why I'm bothering, as the prelude is so painful, but I love it once I start. Last November, when I organised the whole trip to see John's daughter in France, I was in a terrible state. But we were very glad we went. Even though I was having a lot of pain from my hips. When I'm actually away, it feels absolutely right.
Lisa - I thought your storage flip was great, with the frames and canvases. I will have to think of something for all our supplies. I might clear some space in the utility room for storage. Ideally, I'd like a studio shed in the garden! No chance, unless I win the lottery.
Netflix has finally worked out that I don't live in the same house as my son! I was sharing his registration. Unfortunately, I had just finished week 6 of a 10 week series, 'Nobody Wants This'. A romcom. So I won't know the ending!

@ Lanette, my medical appoints are caught up for this week. Next week I have the therapist, the week after, a new doctor for my back issues.🤦♀️
Mom was doing better yesterday. I need to call her in a bit and my sister to find out what the issue was.
As far as DH goes, it is all in his hands now. Brownie’s heart problem is fatal so is simply a matter of waiting for the inevitable.
I have been retaining water and my legs have been swelling so Kidney doc now has ordered me to get some compression socks. I found some Dr. Scholl’s at Walmart (where I got my new meds) so bought 3 pairs to get me through until the cute ones I ordered from Amazon come in. I got mostly ones with feet, but did order a couple without so I can wear my other socks without making my feet sweat. It’s been weird, since I went through menopause I’m hot and sweaty all the time. I am 68, it should have stopped by now.
Spoke to my uncle (80 yo) yesterday and he is on only 2 medications for blood pressure! He says his doctor told him when he was 50 to walk 3 miles a day for his health. He has been doing that since then and his doc says that is probably why he is so healthy.
I got up at 6:30 this morning and did a 3 mile walk. I’m not letting my uncle get the better of me!! LOL My goal is 7250 steps a day, but am working on 3 miles all at once at least once a day. I do a 30 minute walk daily to take care of reservations and walk the dog on short walks throughout the rest of the day. So I get plenty of exercise!
Dinner yesterday was 1 cup ziti with meatballs and spaghetti sauce with a large salad and an orange for dessert.

I am not a church goer but when I was a preteen in South Florida, I went to church with neighbours who were Southern Baptist. I remember nothing about the church teachings but I loved the music.
Jake is scheduled for an angiogram at the hospital 60 miles away. I can't drive him so he asked his daughter who wanted to help if she could come up from California and be his driver. She was delighted to agree, then two days ago some serious stuff came to light with her 14 year old son and she has to stay home and deal with it. Yesterday was a day of Jake making phone calls to arrange for rides. He succeeded with one neighbour scheduled to drive him over, another scheduled to pick him up later on Monday and a third able to pick him up if the doctor has to keep him overnight.

Lisa ... I've done a lot of research on the Medicare Advantage plans for my mom and haven't chosen one for her in the past ... using a Medigap supplement and Part D prescription plan instead. This year, though, I'm looking at an HMO I-SNP Plan ... a special needs plan for people in long term care or assisted living. Need to crunch some numbers there. I'm not on Medicare yet, but my husband is and he doesn't do the Advantage plans either. His former employer has a very good retirement option and it covers me as well. I think all of it is crazy though and thoroughly confusing for most people I suspect.
My mom is recovering well from Covid. Much better than last year's infection when I had to feed her because she was so weak. She's a little bit more confused than usually (doesn't really understand why she has to stay in her room or why I'm wearing PPE), but all in all doing good.
We are having a beautiful day near Buffalo

Afternoon ladies
Well today has been a day..ive been fiddling with the internet this morning trying to get it corrected.. finally figured that out..and now i worked on the suitcase debockle.. and the medium suitcase and one carryon will work just fine.
I got an adorable picture this morning..and they took some with Miles too..Carmine refused to come. But im sure I will get some with both of them for Christmas..7 -
The pizza crust broke John's plate. It's a pin holding it all together. He will make a phone call tomorrow to a local guy who mends them. He is not happy.
I've booked the posh fish restaurant and told them it's my birthday. I am hoping to wear my green velvet dress.
I rang the other one about their music level, but didn't get much out of them. I might drop in one daytime to check it out.
Might try the Turkish place with G. She went there with the girls and liked it. It has excellent reviews and is of long standing.
Lisa - I never went to restaurants as a kid either. My own children did in London, in cheaper places, and in France. These days the price for a family to eat out is exorbitant. My son and DDIL usually tell the kids they can only have water and no desserts. We will be going all out, so no holds barred. You can't take it with you. John is 79 this year. We know our time is limited and we love getting together around a table. But no alcohol, for my son's sake.

Rita – Lordie, I’m glad your NP figured out she had the wrong tests! Pleased that the water pill is the only thing to change… Compression socks are fun – I’m doing much better with them at the ankle level instead of all the way to the knee.
Lanette – Glad your sense of smell is back! The sock preservers were born from a glance at soft slippers at Aldi with the tread built into a sweater-type fabric. However, they were 1) very, very fluffy inside materials, which made me sweaty just looking at them, and b) just covered the feet. The only thing that gets and stays too cold in the winter is my ankles, so I wanted to bring them part way up as booties. It worked!
Heather – Sorry the right arm is bothersome, hope it heals quickly. Thanks for the craft room comment. Having gotten the fabric sorted and my art table underside cleared, I was able to get other things done. The boxes stacked up next to the fabric cabinet are all stuff to be sold at the Christmas fair, so they'll be disappearing in six weeks. I’ve moved each of my projects into individual magazine files, which is awesome, makes things SO much easier, and finally have things where I want them. I’ve got 9 projects in progress at the moment, eight that are living on the fabric cabinet and one obviously being worked on… 😊 Have I mentioned that I love this room?
Beth – Thanks for your information on Medicare/Medigap etc. Such an overwhelming amount of information out there to look at.
Feeling smugly virtuous this morning. Set my phone to flag me at 9 a.m. to do yoga and actually did 11 minutes. First time in a couple months. Then went out and mowed the big front ditch with the self-propelled battery mower. Love that thing. So, I got my self-generated Vitamin D at 70 degrees F outside, got some exercise again, and got one of my least favorite jobs outside completed. Yay!
Time for a nap, I'm thinking...
Love y'all,

Allie ~ That is a very sweet photo of the new baby. Maybe Carmine is reluctant to participate because she feels that SMiles and the new one are getting a lot more attention than she got when she was mall. I realize that Tracy and Kyle were very young when they had her and know that it must have been very hard. At some point I hope she will mature and realize that she is missing a lot. As I said the other day, Carmine is beautiful.
Lisa ~ Your craft room looks wonderful. So spacious and organized.
We have had the Medicare Advantage Plan for several years and are very satisfied with it!
As for church going: We have gone several ways...Baptist, Methodist, Presbyterian, Church of God, and Evangelical. We now just worship at home and enjoy online services.
This morning I sorted through 57 zip lock bags of vintage Coro jewelry. I used to sell vintage jewelry on eBay and Etsy but stopped during the pandemic. Not selling now but it is so much fun to see how jewelry prices have changed. You never know how much to ask for a piece so at present time I will let it go. Also, in order to sell you must invest in packing materials (which I no longer have) and set an accurate price for mailing.
My other project today was decluttering under the sink in the kitchen. I dreaded doing it but must admit it does look better. Threw away a lot of cleaners that I bought but never use.

Carmine, was the first grandchild, let me tell you she was spoiled for sure. But she has her dads temper..and hormones..
Hopefully it all washes when she is a bit older..
I just had to do one of the hardest things Ive probably ever done and went and picked up Selina's ashes..they were in a tiny box and they gave me a certificate in case they ever want to bury her in a cemetery. Which is unlikely.
But my phone went straight to pandora and started playing lullabies when I got in the car,so Selina and I listened to those on the way to her house.
Poor Tracy broke down and Kyle got real quiet.she is ordering a different urn,and I told her I would help put Selina in the new one..
I just sort of feel wiped out now..8 -

We will be having rotisserie chicken here for a while- Walmart had theirs marked down to $2.31 and they had a lot- we usually get two, one for us and one for the cats- last time he commented that it would last longer if I didn't eat any of it.Jerk!- Well, today, we bought 10!- I will bone them out and freeze in small bags- enough for us and the cats. I will make some broth with the bones
I have only gone to Baptist churches. Grew up in a Southern Baptist. now go to a conservative /fundemental Baptist church- One thing I really love is that we only sing the old hymns- such great memories of singing them when I was a kid. My old church now doesn't sing any of them- just the new stuff and they have drums/keyboard, etc. The one I go to now has huge choir, organ, piano(and an amazing pianist) and a violin. Pastor does get a bit loud once in a while but message is good.
Time to walk the wetlands- a bit wit warm at about 80degrees- I will decide when I am out there which path to take. Already walked the dog for MIL and have swimming and aqua zumba tonight.

I hope your washer hangs on for you. I’m praying our hot water tank keeps going for a while yet. I fear it’s going though.
I can’t wait to see the wallet you design.
Your craft tables look great.
I have friends that had the agitator-less washing machine and got rid of it. I’ve also heard some things about the front load washers. I personally want as few bells and whistles as possible, I find it’s just more to go wrong.
Beth - Hope your Mom didn’t pass Covid onto you. We don’t have much for restrictions now.
Lanette - I hope you kick it to the curb fast!
I used to chew baby aspirin like candy when my Mom wasn’t paying attention. It’s a wonder I didn’t overdose at some point. Maybe I need to try Zicam 😂
Kim - your parents had a good plan when it came to finances. I was raised with no financial discipline. My Mom never worked except for one winter that I remember. My Dad worked hard, but was never in his whole life paid his worth. He would go almost every evening and weekend to do odd jobs for people in the community rarely getting more than $5.00 for an evening’s work. He was a licenced general contractor, Red seal electrician, could build anything and could do plumbing but really hated it. He spent every cent he had usually a couple of days before payday. Dad smoked and my brother still resents that we grew up without heat, sometimes electricity and food was scarce at times. My mother’s parents gave them the house we grew up in, it was without running hot water or a tub until the year after I was married. They also helped them out a lot over the years and spoiled my brother and I. Rodger grew up with two parents that worked.
I have been working with cash myself more lately. It makes a difference I think. Rodger doesn’t spend a lot except for the cigarettes and I’m resenting that. It’s hard though because I didn’t want to be “that” ex smoker.
Right now I’m upset that he doesn’t want to work on top of the money literally being burned up.
Allie - those Grands of yours sure are cute. Carmine looks happy holding Delia.
Vicki - exactly! Rodger won’t look either. I actually wrote it all out a few weeks ago when this talk of not working for the winter came up.
Rebecca - hope all the pain goes by tomorrow.
Pip - aren’t our bodies strange.
Michele - depending on what product she is using to make the shirt she needs certain materials and maybe colours. Also, they shouldn’t be washed before having the product applied because of fabric softeners and laundry soaps. I would just let her get you a shirt.
I had a tv catch up night tonight. I watched the Emmy’s I had recorded, I thought they did a good job of them this year with how they had the presenters.
Now I’m watching the AGT Finale so I don’t read on FB who won.
Last night I watched a new show called Brilliant Minds. I loved it!
Off to bed.

Thanks friend, it did diminish! Thanks for the advice on the receipt too. We had to go back the next day but I was able to chat with the same cashier and get the overage credited back in.👍🏼
Today feeling "off" as I donated blood yesterday and my body kind of tanked. Not enough glucose and I got a feeling of wanting to black out, cold and clammy, it wasn't fun. Next time I will bring a favorite cookie from the bakery, and some great tasting orange juice I like. I had done it in a fasted state, and my body reacted!

stopped at Walmart to pick up a roasted chicken for the stray cats. They had a ton of them marked half price- $2 each!!! We grabbed 10(there were still more left)- boning them out and will freeze in quart size bags. Plenty for the cats and for me to use in meals for us.
Almost time for aqua- looking forward to it as it is still 90 degrees. Will be at 13,500 steps before I even get in the pool- I will get there early to do a few laps before class starts then enjoy a few more after, unless they tell us to get out. Last two times I was the last one in the pool.
Tomorrow I have a merchandising job to do at Kohl's- setting up an umbrella display. Dh is helping so it shouldn't take too long- He has set these up many times at his store over the years. Pay is $50 and should only take an hour or so-

Kay - I have the same problem with my dark clothes. I’ve tried everything and don’t know how to get rid of it.
Heather - I hope your arm heals fast.
Allie - What a beautiful photo.
Hugs what a difficult thing to do.
Lisa - your description of what you don’t want in a slipper reminds me of my favourite pair ever. My grandfather bought them for me, they were the Peter Pan boot style so popular in the 80’s, but they snapped up the side so you can have them up over the ankles or down around the ankles. They were made of cotton of some kind and had a thin rubber tread. I loved those slippers I think I even had them after I was married for a bit.
It isn’t even 9pm and I could go to bed. I’m not, I know that would have me awake way too early tomorrow.

My last aqua zumba and it was just the teacher and I again- it would have been great for the teacher to have a full class but, because it was just us, she got in the pool too. It was a lot more fun for her and easier on her knees than on the cement pool side.
Swam 20 min. before class but none after because the lifeguard was giving us the eye- we were the very last ones in the pool and he couldn't go inside until we got out.
Hit 20,000 "steps" just now.

Aches and pains slightly improved today with the blue skies reappearing. I'm encouraging John to go to the local cricket ground, but I don't know if he will. I have a couple of Spanish films recorded that I want to watch in peace. They haven't been able to play cricket for the first two days of a four day game.
I read for 90 mins in the night, but did go back to sleep eventually. It was a chilly night, with the clear skies. It's been horribly rainy, and a lot of the country has had floods. OK here. I know it's been awful in some parts of the US.
The NHS invited both of us for flu and covid jabs. My appointment is in just over a week. In a local pharmacy that I can walk to! I know I will feel c..p for a day after, but it's worth it. John's covid in June was like a cold, and I didn't catch it at all. Amazing! My friend G blames her auto immune illness on it, but I don't know. I think it was severe stress from a family breakup. So, I'm going for it/them.
Egg sandwiches for lunch and the pasta bake tonight. I will use wholegrain spelt pasta.

Friday-energy to clean the oven hood and do two of the declutter challenges before breakfast ;}
Thursday-Best white fleshed peach this year. Later, withstood temptation of cronuts and/or burgers, for salad and chicken rigatoni at home. Healthier and thriftier.
Mo, thank you very much. Your prayers are appreciated.
Lanette hooray for return of sense of smell. Glad it was to smell something good
Heather, whew! Well done on the writing, research and return to exercise machines. You are an inspiration.
Annie I’m likewise glad to have your friendship. While some of your friends may be on cruises, some here are in similar care-giving situations as you are. ((hugs))
Debbie congratulations for no mortgage or car payments. Great accomplishment!
Sue ((hugs)) Good for you to be willing to talk to your sis with the counselor present.
Lisa ah fall. Welcome cooler weather with unwelcome joint effects. Brava on the yoga, trust it will help. Good for the VA, fingers X’d the transition goes smoothly. the sock savers!
Michele I’ve always used powder detergent and have no trouble with residue in my top loader. I AM having trouble finding my preferred brand/flavor (Arm and Hammer, fragrance free) powder in any of the stores here. Will check Walmart in Coos Bay next time I’m there.
Speaking of having trouble finding things, what is it with the oranges? Not an organic orange to be found, and the non-organic ones are getting scarce…
Machka really like the Energy meme. So true!
Kay con VERY gratulations on your two day re-commitment streak. Well done!
Rita so glad the new NP caught her error before you picked up those pills! And that your 80 yo uncle has inspired you to get back to walking. Well done!
Barbie ((hugs)) for Jake, for his daughter and her son, and for you. ((hugs))
Beth what you said about how crazy and confusing Medicare and its various plans are. I don’t trust the advantage plans, fear they are too profit-driven to consistently provide needed care. Joe has a low deductible plan G for his Part B supplement, I have a high deductible Plan F. ABCDgoldfish?

Decluttering challenge Day 22/30 Craft Space, 23/30 Scary Storage Space22-picked just one drawer, in the OMG-craft closet. Never going to finish the knitted Christmas stocking started when we lived in the Bay Area twenty-five plus years ago. Into the donate box for all the blue. Red into trash. Morning, my chickens...
Tracey - Oooo, that's a really good idea, with the flap that drops down or comes further up the calf. Hmmm. 🤔👀 Stop it! No more ideas! 😹 Much like Corey and I have been "shopping the freezer" for September, I'm trying to "shop the stash" for a while and stay my narrowing behind out of the fabric stores... *sigh* I love Joann and Hobby Lobby, I really do. 🥰 And it broke my heart when Walmart here stopped having fabric by the bolt, just precut, tidily wrapped fabric pieces with many fewer choices.
Heather - I just have this vision of you shooing John out the door, "No, darling, really, I'll be fine, just go, have a lovely time." You shut the door, see the bag with the food, open it again and throw it down the walk after him, "Here are your sandwiches!" After you've slammed the door once more, you sink against it smiling, looking forward to eating spicy food and watching your shows. 🥰
Barbara - So pleased for you that you are continuing the month of decluttering--how do you feel about all of it? Are you looking at your stuff a little differently? And how does Joe feel about all this? I ask, because Corey's starting to give me side-eye pretty much every time I pick up something and look at it speculatively. 👀🤪
Carol - I was looking at the Coro jewelry, and so much of it is just beautiful! Perhaps you could sell it as one lot? Looking at prices online, you could probably get a tidy sum. Then again, if it gives you pleasure to look at it, you should keep it! Pleased for you on the decluttering as well. You've talked about it for quite some time, is it helping you feel better about your home?
Corey's up and got his first cup of coffee in hand, I'll be ferrying a few cups in there for the next couple hours. Egg was curled up snoring beside me when he got up, didn't even acknowledge his presence when he staggered through for his first cup! 😹🐈⬛
After we're both sorted out this morning, we'll be going to look at washers. Took me eight different tries of rebooting, and shifting and getting soaked up to the elbows moving clothes around in a washer drum full of cold water yesterday to get three loads of wash done. Nothing helps, so it's time. I've pretty well settled on another GE, pretty basic, but they're still blinking expensive. With new hoses, installation and taking away the old one, it's going to be more than $600. Oh well. 🤷🏻♀️ Got to be done. Oh, and after y'all's input and reading reviews, going with an old-fashioned agitator top-loader. I don't like the front loaders, lots of reasons, and the impellers, honestly, get some pretty sketchy reviews. Only the one had the ability to take the agitator out for large loads, and it didn't get good reviews either.
We'll see what we can find. Tired of fighting with this washer, for sure.
Your moment of zen Egg kitty for the morning. She won't sleep in an actual cat bed, but really likes the hassock I keep in the craft room:
Later,
Love y'all!

Barbara - my local Walmart website shows organic oranges $5.97 for a 3# bag. No idea if they are in good shape. I'll take a peek next time I'm in the store.
Debbie - wow that's a good deal on rotisserie chicken. I see they are $5.97 hot and $3.97 chilled at my Walmart, which isn't too bad. It's great you are able to get a lot of swimming in and it's cooled down enough to enjoy your walks in the wetlands.
Heather - glad to hear Johnny is off to cricket and you get some "Heather time" to watch your films.
Lisa - LOVE your craft room. It has to be very satisfying and peaceful to walk in there and not be distracted by disorganization. I'm speaking from experience here. I get a little sense of that when the house is all picked up and counters cleared in preparation for Collette to do her thing. Enjoy the washer shopping, it will be great to have something reliable.
Allie - adorable baby photo! You are such a good grandmother to take care of Selina's arrangements.
Barbie - very glad Jake was able to find transport for his angiogram. Rural communities need to prioritize medical transport in addition to bus service. Jake can't be the only person running into this problem. My county theoretically has this kind of transport for doctor's appointments in far away cities or even shopping. Some day when I'm totally bored I should book a ride and see how well it works.
I decided to get myself a new 8" skillet, which means a skillet declutter coming up. Years ago I bought a set of Green+life non-stick (I believe they must be ceramic?) that are now showing teensy chips and aren't as non-stick as they once were. I'm also thinking about donating my large cast iron skillet. So heavy and needs to be re-seasoned. I used it a lot to make fried potatoes when DH was here and we both had hearty appetites. Now it's time for someone else to enjoy it.
Hope everyone in Hurricane Helene's path is doing OK.
Make it a super weekend, ladies.
