Hy ladies. Just checking in on the new thread. I've got some stuff going on right now so I think I'm going to focus on mostly maintaining for the next few weeks. But I'm still going to be following this thread and keeping up with y'all. I'd miss you too much if I did otherwise!

Amy-thanks! And I'm not doing TOO badly. I've not been up to actual maitenance calories on any one day, and I've done small spurts of exercise, just didn't run on Monday. I'll run tonight...make the hubby kick me out the door or something. He'll do it if I tell him to! :o)

Lacey-Aloe vera juice sounds familiar. We'll see how this goes. I've been giving everything we try 5-6 days, so I guess I should be more patient, but she's just in so much pain, it's hard. I know it won't magically make it better right away, but I figure I'd at least see SOME kind of change, so when I don't, that's when I try the next thing. :o) And never more than one change at a time. *sigh* BTW-FEEL BETTER!!!

THIS is why I love this group! B/C you ladies "yell" at me if I need it!!

Kendal-hope Dr bills get a bit better! Icky! I'm about to create my own, so I'll feel for you soon! *hugs*

    Hailie-yay for personal training!

Sarah-we'd miss you too much too! :o)

Oh no, I've been lurking for two days and now not only am I behind, but there's a new thread! This thing moves FAST!

I got my ideeli dress yesterday, the one that is a size 14 so I can't wear it yet. BUT, as it turns out it's a stretchy kind of material so I could actually wear it, except that it's a little too snug on the hips/belly for my liking. It's a total va-va-voom dress though. I tried it on and walked out to show the bf and his eyebrows went up in the air and he got that look on his face like he's thinking fun thoughts and he said "wow, that's really nice!" Yay! I'm wondering if I can lose enough to make it look how I want it to in time for the wedding I'm going to on September 16th. I have a month to work on it...

Man, it sounds like everyone's day kind of sucks today. I've got full-on TOM so I'm not particularly chipper either. I want to go home and take a nap!

Kendal, I'm sorry about the bill, that sucks big time. I can't tell you the number of times I've wished we lived in a country where you could go to the doctor when you need something done without having to worry about the bill. It's SO FRUSTRATING to pay for insurance and then STILL have to pay out of pocket. You shouldn't have to choose between being well and being able to eat/pay other bills.

Rikki, I think we've all been there when it comes to feeling bad about ourselves. I know it's not easy to do but you have to remember that you are working to make changes in yourself to the things you don't like, and those changes will take time. I know you'd like to wake up and just have the weight be gone (wouldn't we all), but the excruciating work it takes to change your body will make you a much stronger person, and having to really work for something will make you appreciate it even more when you get it. Like Amy said, you are not your body. All of those terrible things that you said about yourself -- would you say those things about your husband or your best friends? No? Then why are you being harder on yourself than you would be on those you love? Your friends and your husband love you for who you are, and you need to love you too. You can do this, and so much more!

Amy, I'm sorry about your foot. :frown:

Lacey, I hope you feel better soon!

Rain, oh man I LOVE Dippin' Dots. Those are hard to resist!

Karen, I hope Melodie feels better soon. Hopefully the specialist can help.

Megan, popcorn for breakfast isn't so bad...unless it was movie theater popcorn. That stuff is just crazy with the calories! Do you have a Trader Joe's anywhere near you? They have a popcorn made with olive oil that is sooooo good...it actually tastes a bit like movie theater popcorn to me. Our nearest Trader Joe's is about an hour and 20 minutes away in Pittsburgh, so whenever we go out there or when we visit friends and family in the DC area I always have to stop by Trader Joe's and stock up on all of their good stuff. I also love their steel cut oatmeal that comes frozen -- you just pop it in the microwave for 3 minutes and it's a delicious breakfast!

Victoria, I love greek yogurt! I like the Fage honey yogurt, but all flavors are good...mix a little chopped walnuts in there and yum! What book is your book club reading? I was in a book club for awhile but it kind of fizzled out. It was a lot of fun while it lasted though.

Kerry, my bf did the same kind of thing last week! He shook me awake saying something about how I better not roll over because there were tacks on the side of the bed. Super weird, because he never sleep talks. Eventually he woke up and did the "what the heck am I doing" thing.

Kristina, good for you for doing Insanity! I looked that up online a couple of weeks ago and decided that I wasn't anywhere near ready for that, but it's a goal.

Hosanna, your wedding sounds fantastic!! Also I love love LOVE Hyperbole and a Half and The Oatmeal. I've gotten my bf into them too, so he'll say "Did you see the one where..." and we'll laugh all over again.

Nava, I'm right there with ya in wondering why guys spread their legs out so far. In my experience it seems like the ones who need the least room are the ones who spread the furthest. Overcompensation.

Hailie, way to go on the 13.1 mile bike ride! Great picture! Yay for rockin' the personal training too!

That's all for now. Feel better, everyone!!

Once I get home tonight I will be running around packing for the weekend, and then tomorrow morning I'm gonna try to squeeze in a 4 mile run before showering and hitting the road for our mini vacation. By noon tomorrow, I'll be at a brewery. Woot!

Pam, now you've got a 1-month goal with the ideeli dress! You can totally do it, you've been rockin' it lately. Chris ALWAYS talks in his sleep. Most of the time he imagines some sort of critter, and then HAS to wake me up to worn me. I've had him actually push me out of bed and turn on the lights before too because the sleep version of him is trying to find spiders in our bed. I mostly just think its really entertaining. I always try to talk back to him.

Karen, I can't even beging to comprehend the frustration you must feel as a mom with the issues with Melodie. I'm so sorry that its still going on and that she's so miserable. I'm not even going to try to offer advice as I have no perspective on this, but I just wanted you to know I'm thinking about you and praying it gets better soon! ((((hugs!)))))

Sarah(thes), whatever you have going on, just make sure you check in with us and keep us posted. And remember to MAINTAIN not GAIN.

Rain, your story about your fall before your Disney vacation literally made me cringe and get chills. ICK! That sounds terrible! Stupid healthcare system.

Hailie, way to rock the personal training! A bit ago you asked me about how to keep sodium levels down - it really just comes down to cutting back on processed foods and not eating out. The more you make from scratch, the better off you will be. And just read labels and track it. You'll get the hang of it in no time!

Lacey, just thinkin' about you and your Dr.'s appointment - I hope everything goes well, and its awesome that you took the time to go in and get stuff checked. Better safe than sorry.

Katheryne, have a blast on vacation! How did I miss that you were going somewhere?! Where are you going? (again, sorry if I missed this from an earlier post - sometimes when I get super far behind on the thread I start skimming. :blushing: )

Amy, if I could b*tch slap your foot the way we sometimes want to b*tch slap the scale, I totally would. That sucks that its hurting so much. If I was there, I'd get us some wine and cheese and force you to just prop that foot up and do nothing but hang. And then I'd cook for you a bunch. (I swear I'm not hitting on you, even though upon re-reading this, it sorta sounds like it...lol)

Megan, personally, I would eat popcorn for every meal if it actually had nutritional value. Its in my top 5 favorite foods. OOH! That's a fun game... so everyone... what are your top 5 favorite foods (healthy or not, I don't care!) I'll start:

    1. Avocados, avocados, avocados. They are good on EVERYTHING
    2. Popcorn.
    3. Cheese. Specifically, a very old gouda, like Beemster (google it!). Amazing
    4. Tomatos. I eat them like candy
    5. Beer (like you guys didn't see that coming!)

Rikki, thank you for sharing that with us. I know how hard that can be. Amy really said it best, you are not your weight. And I can tell you from experience, that 71 pounds later, I'm still the same person with the same problems that I had before. I'm still not 100% satisfied with my body, nor do I think I will ever be.

Victoria and Kristina, how have I not thought to put Chobani vanilla with bananas and peanut butter. That sounds amazing.

Hosanna, I agree, your wedding sounds awesome! I'm so excited for you!

Okay, I have 45 minutes left at work and SO MUCH to do. So I'm off to bust my butt. I'll try to sneak on while out of town but I'll be on my phone. xoxoxo

Oh. My. God... I hate everything today. That being said, TOM should be here in the next couple days.

I'm thoroughly annoyed with my ever wonderful mother today... She called and said "oh, we've been invited to so-and-so's baby shower." So-and-so was my suitemate in college and I haven't seen or heard from her since she got married about 3 years ago. So I immediately got irritated about it and my mom said "oh, it's nice that she thought of you."

"No mom, it's extremely tacky to invite people you haven't talked to in years to your baby shower so I have to bring a gift." She didn't understand why I was so angry about it. Hello, it's effing rude to invite people who used to be your friends who you haven't spoken to in years to a party where gifts are required.

Then my mom says "well, you buy gifts for people's showers and weddings all the time." Yes. Those are people who are my friends. Who I talk to. Regularly.

Am I overreacting? This just seems like poor taste to me. Maybe I'm too cynical, but it just seems rude to not speak or see someone in 3 years (despite multiple efforts on my end) then invite them to your baby shower via your mother.

Sorry to add to the pissy pile today!

Pam, wtg on the dress sorta fitting! Gotta love those reactions from the BFs.

Kendal, your medical bills sound gross and I'm sorry you're dealing with that! I've racked up some amazing credit card bills from my current braces and surgery issues. It's never fun.

Kerry, that story about your hubs cracked me up. Joe is a sleep yeller and hitter! But then again I bit him in my sleep...

Karen, I hope you get some good results from the specialist!

Rain, for some reason I find Dippin' Dots irresistable. I really don't know what it is because you're seriously getting like nil for all the money they cost.

That's all I can remember off the top of my head. I hope we all get out of our crummy moods!

Oh yeah, I hope you feel better, Lacey!

Kerry, I'm off to Vegas for five days. Part of it is a family visit, but the rest is all time for the Hubbs and I.

    Five fav. foods:

    In no particular order

    1. Pizza: There is a song we learned in middle school: "Pizza, pizza, pizza if you please...pizza, pizza, but please no anchovies...I'll eat it here, i'll take it home, i'll ask for home delivery...charge it to my Visa it's a pizza life for me" :) 25 years and i can still remember every word of that song...and it's so true for me. I'll take it just about anyway, anytime, I can get it.

    2. Cheese: see above :), cheese goes on anything and everything.

    3. Poke (for those of you who don't know, poke is a green, similar to black mustard or kale, that in the south is washed, wilted, and served with a little bit of bacon grease.) It doesn't grow in Alaska so I havn't had it for 4 years now :(

    4. chicken.

    5. red potatoes

My all time fav meal growing up was Fried chicken, mashed red potatoes, and poke. Good southern food; which, aside from being fried and/or containing bacon grease, wasn't that bad.

    ooh, top five foods:

    1. Tex-Mex. seriously I could eat chips and salsa every day. And enchiladas, and fajitas, and queso... and on and on and on.

    2. Cheese: my friends will through "cheeses of the world" parties where we all bring a cheese and sit down and chat and just use it as an excuse to see each other.

    3. Any fruit. I looooooooove fruit.

    4. A really good burger, but it has to be super delicious and juicy. Not like McD's or something.

    5. Ice cream and Sno Cones: do I need an explanation?

This months book is "The Innocents Abroad" by Mark Twain. Our classic for the year which really was not my fav read.

    Top 5 foods:

    1) IPA (India Pale Ale) beers
    2) Cheesecake
    3) Fresh Corn on the cob
    4) Chicken Pot Pie
    5) Prime Rib
    6) Cheesy Potatoes

I love food to much to limit it to 5!!!

Kendal - that sucks. I'm betting your deductible and co-pay for the year is $1000 or $1500. Since you're getting close to meeting it, is there anything else you want looked at this year. Call and set up a payment plan. If you tell them, you can only afford $5 or $20 per month, they should accept payments without penalties. Good luck.

Kerry - enjoy your mini vacay.

Nava - just because you're invited, doesn't mean you have to send a gift. Politely decline the invitation. Yes, unless it's a relative, I think it's wrong to invite someone you haven't spoken to in 3 years. Does your mom talk to her often?

Karen - your poem is lovely. I felt bad about my body before MFP entered my world. I've been here 23 months with many ups and downs. Exercise was the key to feeling better about myself. I set small goals and celebrated meeting them. Taking a pound a week off is the safe way to do it. Do you really think you at 35,000 cal above maintenance while on vacation? I can't imagine that you gained 10 pounds of fat. I'm sure most of it is water weight. Are you retaining water additionally from pre-TOM? If you ate badly while on vacay, own it and aim to do better next time. This is a life style change that takes time and must be forever (as the 10 pounds I've gained back will tell you). Reverting to your old ways will cause weight gain. Make small changes you can live with. A pound a week is 52 pounds a year. Good luck and take those meds.

Pam - I got a kick out of your dress story. You can sooo do it.

That's all I can remember for the moment. Time to make dinner and head out to bookclub.

I just realized I typed through instead of "throw" which is silly.

Victoria, I think my mom sees her mom. So it wasn't even an invite from the girl so much as verbal invite from her mother to my mother which galls me even more.

Depressing moment today: I got weighed at the Dr's office. 211.4 - okay well no big surprise there. Asked the nurse to tell me my last weight. Last June, a year ago, I weighed 212.4. FML. Do I really eat that bad?? Do I eat too much? Do I not eat enough? Major WTF moment. I guess its good that I maintained but come the eff on already. So. Gonna make an appt to get all my blood testing done. But it costs $35 per visit now that I'm on my works insurance and not Jeffs which was a $15 copay. Kendal - I totally feel your pain.

I'm watching Teen Mom right now. I love reality tv way too much. I want to nutpunch Amber. That girl..

So I've probably got a viral sinus infection that will run its course, back on flonase and allegra D, but because I'm not running a fever (yet) no antibiotics. Again. If I have to pay another copay I will scream. And then I get to Target pharmacy. I'm SO done with that pharmacy...every single time I have to get something filled there they are out of it or don't have it or something. So no Allegra D, which is the thing I really need to clear up my chest, until they get me something else. And I have to call them to see if they got it figured out with the Dr. Not them calling me! Ga! So I am going to swtich to the little pharmacy in our little outskirts town. Give the local store the business.

And here is my very own pep talk, which also goes for the rest of you as we are all having motivation issues of late. I came home and ate Arbys feeling all douchey about my weight and the fact that P90X and family aren't mixing so hotly these days and woe is me. But you know what? I still have one month before I go on my trip. And when I come back I have Christmas parties to look forward to. And Even though I'm not losing one ****ing pound in a year, I have lost inches off my body. Enough to have 18's be baggy and be firmly into a size L shirt in Target, Old Navy and Macys AND those shirts fit not only up top but at the waist too.
So just because we eat a meal that is total crap and we are feeling like crap and all woe is me, that doesn't mean we can't keep on keepin on. I am determined to get in all P90X three strength training work outs this week. That means I need to do one tonight. What are You going to do tonight??

I have to keep reminding myself that people at work started to notice me slimming down and my dad asked if I'd been losing weight when I saw him a few weekends ago. I AM going to get there. Goddamnit.

Geeezz....I was going to reply to everyone but I look and its 2:40 already! Where did my day off go that I planned to take a nap and chill out quietly??

Okay I PEPPED myself up enough that I am going to reply to everyone while the gutbomb I ate (that I inhaled and didn't even really taste) and then work out before the family gets home.
(one more complaint: Who in Gods name wants to carry around a GLASS bottle of nasal spray? Because that is what mine is in. Glass)

Nava - I am 100% with you on that ridiculousness baby shower invite.

Victoria - I've never read any of the Classics. I tried to read a book for a college as an asignment by Emily Bronte I think. Double Ugh. Enjoy your book club meeting, I've always wanted to go to one.

Top five foods, not in any order: sushi, coffee, greek yogurt, pizza, cheese.

Kerry - not gonna lie. I am jealous of all your galavanting to breweries and Adult Related Vacations. Super jealous.

Pam - YEAY for your ideeli dress coming and you liking it!!

Karen - yeah, it does totally take a minimum of a month to get everything from that particular food group out of your system I believe. I could be wrong and that might be super general but I know at least for wheat and dairy it seems to be the case. You go girl!! Get to running!!

Sarahthes - hope all is well with you. Sometimes maintaining and doing what you gotta is best.

Rain - wowza on the arm situation. That would totally suck balls.

Hailie - Double Yeay for rocking your PT appt this morning!!

Katheryne - have a great time in VEgas!!

Kendal - again. BOO for stupid doctors bills.

Amy - if your foot hurts in Paris I will totally carry you around on my back screaming Hodor! Hodor! all the way to the Eiffel tower and back. Maybe then the scale will go in the right direction :drinker: I think I would not have cooked dinner lol.

Riki - your poem rocks. Thanks for sharing. We ALL have gone through those days, weeks, months where we feel like total crap about ourselves, our bodies (see my last post).

Amy and Kristina - there have been at least one thread about those brownies on MFP but I've not tried them yet. I do want to try to th cauliflower pizza crust though (search for it on here).

Kristina and Katheryne - one of the things that fuels me the very most is the ability to wear cute boots. When I finally come to the day that my calves can comfortably fit into a pair of Frye boots, no amount of money (and they are spensive as all hell) will stand in my way from buying them.

Annette - enjoy camping and the festival! My husband is part of a medical group here that goes to various festivals to provide medical tents for the festival goers.

Hosanna and Amy - Baaaaliiii Haaiiiiiiii....have you guys seen South Pacific? Love. That. Movie.

Kerry, Amy and the rest: I give you another internet Golden Nugget that totally cracks me the eff up (I want a tshirt I love it so much): http://www.sleeptalkinman.blogspot.com/
"Oh! It's a poltergoat. A poltergoat! You can't see 'em, but you find all your clothes chewed. If you listen carefully, you may hear a ghostly baaaahhhhh. Poltergoat! Baaaahhhhhhh."
Ohhhhh - there are RINGTONES. So totally going to buy a few for a few key people in my contacts..

Hosanna - your wedding plans sound lovely.

Sarah wnt - yeah totally causing my heart pain, my phone is. I mean I bought that thing because it IS an Apple product. I know, people are either Mac people or not. No one is really in between. I am so totally 100% a Mac person. That being said, Verizon+Apple =total *kitten* territory. I Guess the next phone coming out should be global..sigh.

Kristina - cold left over pizza for breakfast might be my sixth favorite food. Good job tossing it. I couldn't have done it.

Okay. I think I got most of you..time to get the WO clothes on and yell at TH for a while.

My favorite foods, eh? I'm going to skip the dessert issue, cause that's a whole other thing

    In no particular order
    - a really good veggie pizza
    - baked ziti
    - caprese salad (btw, making one, with brown rice tonight, and I've made it twice before, but can't find the effin' recipe i used!)
    - grilled vegetables
    - grilled cheese (+ tomato soup)

just finished insanity cardio recovery. i'm going to have to move my rest day to friday, as I'll be away the whole day, and in order to get tomorrow's in, will have to do in the morning. will get up regular time, as I'm going into work late because Emma can't be dropped off to boarder until 9am, so should have enough time for the dvd. fun times.

I had a small issue with chips today (reduced fat salt and vinegar. UGH), but threw out the rest of the bag when I got home (in the outside trash, so I couldn't second guess my choice). About to take Emma for a walk, and then brownie making, and caprese rice salad cobbled together with what I can remember.

SEVEN AND A HALF MILES, BABY!!! WAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And I ran the whole damned thing. This babysitting this is great for my workouts, I tell ya.

8 days. Only 8 more days. I can do 8 more days. Then, my BEST friend in the whole world is coming to spend a week with me. See. I knew I'd make it. Sarah's back! Wahoo!

Lacey: I am SO glad it's 'just' a sinus infection. Those suck, but I'm truly releived that it's not something more serious. You were in my prayers today. Now, go kick some P90X *kitten*. As for the weight loss, you know what to do...so do it. Keep on keepin on. Oh, and personally, I don't care: pc or mac. But I married a PC guy...so I guess I'm now bound by law... hm.

Halie: Um. No. Thanks. Best advice I EVER got growing up: She is never going to change...just walk a wider circle...

Victoria: My book club a coupla years ago wanted to read that...we made it through, I don't know...a third of it...and gave up. LOL!

Top 5 Foods: (In a VERY particular order):

    1. Grilled Cheese with Tomato Soup (White bread, Kraft singles, obscene amount of butter, campbells soup, with whole milk, fresh basil and shell macaroni in the soup. Please. thank you.)

    2. Hot Chocolate.

    3. Tomatoes right off the vine...so your fingers smell like tomato plants. OMG!! LOVE!!

    4. Avocado (even good in #1...)

    5. My homemade lasagna (That's what got me married...)

So had night shift last night, have been trying to sleep all day - then have TWO pages to catch up on!! hahaha! I'll try, but my pups are SCREAMING for a walk!

Amy - any sort of "chocolate Rage" i tend to try and curb with a sugar-free, low card, gluten free chocolate that i've found. A couple of squares and i'm pretty much cured - the white chocolate with strawberries is awesome, and tastes exactly like real chocolate!

Kristina, Katheryne and everyone else in the boot conversation - See, the calf issue isn't what has to keep me away from adorable boots... I have a size 13 (eu 44) foot, and i'm nearly 6 feet tall... so i just can't find shoes that fit EVER, and being already taller than my Other Half, i have to avoid anything with heels or else i feel like a giant!

Rikki - Awww love :( Chin up. I'm sure we all often have days where we feel gross and wonder how anyone could ever want to be with us etc, but remember that hubby married you for YOU, not your outer appearance. Make sure you get back on those meds though sweets, i'm medicated for depression and anxety, and as soon as i miss ONE dose i just lose the plot. Try hard to think happy thoughts though - and trust me, i KNOW that's easier said than done. But remember, it will pass, and you are working SO hard to change the things you can change. We're here for you, always remember that!

Karen - Poor melodie :( you're doing everything you can for her, and you WILL find the answer eventually!

Kendal - That is EXTORTIONATE!! You poor chook!

Katheryne - Thanks love! I love boats and water too - I spent six weeks on a medic ship in a reallyy remote part of New Guinea last year. It was one of the most amazing experiences of my life!!

Lacey - Glad to hear things are pointing to issues NOT cardiac related. That's awesome.

Hailie - wow that's a loaded question  no one's asked that before. I'm so unbelieveably excited! My whole life i've never felt like i belong anywhere - it didn't take my psychologist long on our first appointment to work out i have abandonment issues - And i've always, ALWAYS just wanted to feel like i belong. I am so not a feminist - i am just so excited about belonging TO someone... to know that someone loves me THAT much that they want to spend the rest of their life with me, despite all my issues and stuff. Every time i sign my nam at work (which is at least 10 times a day!) i have to write my last name after it - and i get annoyed that i can't start using my married name yet, and count down the days until i can. I'm just excited about being able to spend the rest of my life with my best friend, making plans and working through stuff together. Does that make any sense? haha!

Nava - That is tacky as!! You have every right to be annoyed. Boycott. BOYCOTT!!

PHEW! I think i've caught up with everyone!!

Sorry to see everyone seems to be in such a funk at the moment. My biggest issue is that on night shift last night i realised that i'm never, EVER going to get job satisfaction in my career in this town. Poo. Oh well, i'm here for the Other Half, and he's doing what he has to do to get the job he wants - and in three or four years i (theoretically.. in 'the plan') get to stop working and be a stay-at-home mum, so that's not too long.

    Hmmm, top five foods...

1 - Mashed potato, peas and gravy. It does NOT get better than this. With anything. Sausages, chicken, steak... all tastes better with Mashed Potatoes, Peas and Gravy.
2 - Spaghetti Bolognaise - I could seriously eat nothing but this for the rest of my life. I always take some for night shift, so i have it four nights in a row, and then i'm happy to suggest we have it the next night too!
3 - Cheese. I'm a HUGE fan of soft cheeses especially - Triple Brie, Camenbert, Costello... And blue cheeses... the best cheese i ever had was in Paris, where we bought a blue cheese that was in a sealed container, marinating in it's own stinky juices... yummmmmmmmm!!!
4 - I have to agree with everyone on Avocado. Especially in a sandwich with ham. And vegemite.
5 - I also have to agree with everyone that Cheese Toasties (aka grilled cheese) are awesome - but i would like to trade tomato soup for a lovely thick cheesy pumpkin soup. yummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!!! Now i'm really hungry.

I had a little NSV last night at work! I was sitting there munching on my fruit-and-nut mixture, and was having a chat with one of the girls who was munching on some yummy candy, and she was like "You've lost weight, haven't you? Yeah i thought you had!"
    It felt good
ALSO, i'm going to have to wear a belt tonight, my pants kept slipping last night!

Ok, the dogs are going MAD. They were in sleeping with their daddy all night, then they've been in sleeping with mummy all day - they want some WALKIES man!!! We have a giant lookout hill about five minutes walk from here. It's brutal. I'm going to go and try and do two laps of it. That should tire them out. I love having them for motivation to exercise, even when i'm on nightshift!

By the way - What the HECK are dippin' dots??

    ADDIT:
WOOOO! Guess who just walked THREE LAPS of the hill!! I truly felt like my legs were on fire by the second lap, but i thought "Wouldn't it be awesome to get home and be able to tell the girls that i did THREE laps!!"
    So thanks for being motivational!!

Good morning ladies! It is a beautiful day here and the weather is even acting like summer should (I remember it being hotter here last year but this year - not so much). Here's my check in for Wednesday: 2554 calories burned/ 1496 calories eaten/ 1058 calorie deficit and I am on track for a pretty good loss this week!!!! (I haven't had a "pretty good" loss in a while - I feel like I've been in the 190's forever!!!!)

    Here's my top 5 foods:

    1) Raspberry BellaVitano cheese (ok, I love any kind of cheese but this is my ultimate, hands down favorite cheese on earth) - it's nutty like Parmesan and creamy like cheddar and soaked in raspberry port for an out of this world flavor. I've only ever seen it at a cheese shop in Carmel, California but they had a tendency to run out of it (as it was so freaking amazing) - It's from somewhere in Wisconsin, if you can find it - EAT IT (and then send me some)
    2) Sushi (doesn't really matter which kind - I love sashimi and rolls)
    3) Pizza - I'm pretty picky about pizza, I prefer homemade artisan style pizzas as opposed to generic pizza delivery places.
    4) Fruit Salad - I make a fruit salad pretty much weekly consisting of strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, mango, golden kiwis (way better than the green kiwis common in the States), and grapes - it's fabulous alone or as a topper to ice cream.
    5) Crack wrap - a tortilla smeared with homemade hummus and cheese grilled to a golden perfection is my new obsession (I eat it at least twice a week - and more if I can get away with it)

Hosanna: Congrats on your NSV!!!! So, you want to be a stay at home mom? I sort of fell into that job but never set out for it (and it is my hope to get out of it as soon as possible). I love my kid but 24 hours a day with him without a lot of outside conversation can drive me insane.

Sarah: You are a running machine!!! WTG!!! I love the "walk a wider circle" advice. Awesome!

Hailie: I honestly believe that all mother's are slightly insane (some are more-than-slightly insane). I think it's the kids that make us crack-up. We'll be in Germany until 2013 (maybe longer if The Hubbs gets his tour extended).

Kristina: This is my FAVORITE caprese salad recipe: http://www.melskitchencafe.com/2010/07/cherry-tomato-caprese-salad.html I do want to point out that what Americans think a caprese salad is is NOT the same thing that the people from Capri (who invented the thing) think it is. I was bummed to discover that all over the Amalfi coast of Italy a caprese salad involves sliced tomatoes, white vinegar, salt & pepper, a drizzle of olive oil and ONE basil leaf on top. Seriously, ONE leaf of basil. I had the salad at several different restaurants both on the islands and the mainland and that's what they do. The recipe I posted is WAY better than that crap.

Lacey: OMG, I just pictured me on your back in a basket and you running around like a loon screaming "Hodor, Hodor" with the Eiffel Tower in the background. It made me LOL for realz. You are a super-stud for working out when you are not feeling well. I seriously appreciated your pep talk to yourself. I have not lost weight as quickly as I had planned (I was planning on being at my goal weight by now, but I'm still 28 pounds away from that) and I've felt stuck in the 190's forever. But you're right, I've lost inches, I fit into smaller clothes, I'm stronger and faster than I used to be. I'm making progress....just slowly. But slow progress is WAY better than heading in the other direction toward heart disease, diabetes and morbid obesity. We'll get to where we want to be, it's just gonna take a while. Keep the faith.

Victoria: mmmm Cheesecake....mmmmm. I seriously LOVE me some cheesecake. It's like kryptonite for me. My favorite is pumpkin caramel cheesecake. I simply cannot have it in the house because I lose all control. Oh, I got the coupons you sent - THANKS!!!!

Katheryne: I've never heard of Poke, but I've never been in the South either. I like your pizza song!

Nava: I think it's super-tacky to invite everyone you've ever known to a wedding or baby shower because you KNOW they aren't really interested in seeing you, they just want a gift from you. If they had wanted o stay in touch, they'd have stayed in touch. I mean, we've got Facebook for crap's sake - I stay in touch with everyone I want that way. That chick just wants a gift, I say screw her and her greedy butt. (I may have issues with greedy people...sorry.)

Kerry: I know you're out of town but I'll respond to you anyway - When I had surgery to remove my thymus, The Hubbs was gone for 3 months so my former roommate who I hadn't seen in forever came out to California to take care of me. We ate wine and cheese, she cooked me fabulous organic, vegetarian meals, we had True Blood and Dexter marathons - it was AWESOME! So your comment about feeding me wine & cheese and cooking me dinner didn't sound like you hitting on me but DID sound exactly like my very best friend in the world, which makes me believe that you are SUPER-AWESOME!!!! Enjoy your vacay!

Pam: Yay for the ideeli dress -I'm still waiting on my ideeli stuff but I got an email that one of the things I bought isn't available (boo!) but they gave me a $25 store credit in exchange (yay!).

Karen: I wanted to say CONGRATS on getting the house (I saw your post on facebook) - SUPER-COOL!!!!!

Sarah(thes): Keep posting here from time to time so we don't miss you.

rain: That story about your fall was terrible! It's interesting to live in a country where medical care is free for the residents. I've had some experience with the hospitals and ERs here and I think they do a pretty good job. I DO know that, while health care is "free" for Germans, they pay a helluva lot of taxes to pay for that "free" health care. It is NOT cheap to live in a European country. They add 19% value added tax to EVERYTHING that you buy. Seriously, everything. I used to complain about 8.5% sales tax in California, but CA ain't got nothin' on Germany!

Good morning ladies! I can't sleep so I thought I'd give a little post. Sounds like everyone is real busy these days. I wish I had my new running shoes already since im up so stinking early, but I can't bear to walk/run in the ones I have. They hurt too much.

Anyways, I hope everyone has a happy Thursday. Guess im gonna go fix some breakfast. I hope this doesn't throw my eating schedule off too bad today even though its about 2 hrs before normal bf time. I'll make due.

My five fave foods of all time:
*cheese...I swear I can eat it on everything. I tried a real spicy buffalo cheddar the other day and it was great!
*chocolate milk....the kind u make at home, not storebought. Its my guilty pleasure.
    * mexican food of any kind. Im probably never going to turn this down.esp quesadillas
*beer and whiskey...not a food but it counts!! :-)
*and I love hamburgers. On the grill or big juicy ones at a restaurant ....not fast food ones, they are wimps in comparison. Lol

    That's all for now!

    P.s.-its almost friday.
