so by the look of things, i dont think ill pull through with this october shredding, may have to wait till next month. We are in the process of living out of suitcases, and renovating our new home !!0

1. She talks way too much! Still have not muted her, but im sure by day 10 she will get the mute button!
2. I caught Natalie cheating during the bicep curl lunges; she stops lunging for 2 seconds when Jillian was working with Anita; i smiled knowing she wasnte perfect after all:happy: :happy:
3. Soreness has dwindled some
4. Pushups and side lunges are still the hardest for me to do
5. Mornings are definitely the best time to do the video
I did day 3 last night and day 4 this morning....i am so happy to have you guys as a support system! Cheers to Day 4!:drinker: :drinker:0 -
I am so proud of all of you and feel incredibly blessed to get to know you during this journey.
I did 15 minutes of day 3 last night and the whole thing this morning. Holy thigh pain Batman! The rest of me is okay, it is just my thighs.
I have started listening to my ishuffle during the work out. Eff Jillian telling me to push it out. lol0 -
D3L1 completed!! After a 2 day break I'd forgotten how tough it is! I'm still finding the boxing really tough! I think I sit really deep into it! Need to get some weights! My trusty chicpea cans are getting shaken quite a bit!! And I may (MAY) try a 'real' push up tomorrow!! But I do it will only be 1 or 2!!!

Haha poor chickpeas! I managed about 2 'real' pushups before going back to the knee ones! They're so tough. I don't mind the boxing at all funny, but maybe I'm not getting down low enough. Still hate the starjump/jump rope section most as it kills the backs of my legs and my ankles. Maybe I shouldn't be doing it barefoot!0 -

It's interesting reading what everyone has trouble with and it's funny how we all struggle with different things, I can barely do push ups (even the modified ones!) I hate jumping jacks, and I have to skip from one foot to the other when it comes to the skipping section, I'm basically rubbish at all cardio! But I'm fine with the boxing section, lunges and most strength, except I find the squat and push or whatever its called at the beginning quite challenging (painful!!).
My only concern is that when I do the abs sections I'm finding it quite easy, which must mean I'm doing it wrong. I can't feel anything happening in my abs during or after the workout at all. Oh I should point out that I don't find the bicycle crunches easy, by that point I don't know what's going on anyway, I'm just resembling a tortoise stuck on it's back on the floor.
Well day 4 done, 26 to go! I had a sneaky peek at level 2 today and that looks sooooo hard!! I saw Natalie cheating too!!0 -
I feel the same way. I work really hard at the abs but so far my abs haven't been sore at all. I'm actually hoping the abs in lvl 2/3 gets harder. My stomach is where I need the most help.0

well i kicked day 4's *kitten*!!! everything is getting easier except the side lunges w/ arm raises! they are the death of me! but i've always been horrible with the vertical arm lifts.
hope everyone is doing good....my calves are still killing me all day!0 -
I have noticed Natalie cheating at the boxing too.
With the ab stuff: Especially when you do the reverse crunches, you can't rock your legs back and forth, you actually need to lift your hips. I discovered that this morning because I was wondering why I wasn't getting anything out of it. Then oh holy moly. lol0 -

I agree it is interesting finding what people find easy and difficult. I was finding the ab work easy too...until I corrected my breathing and then I could feel it pull! Which is really what I need as my muscles split through pregnancy and don't think there's much left there now! It will be interesting to see if this makes any difference!
I loved your description of being like a turtle stuck on their back with the cycling crunches! Lol I am exactly the same! Lol an infact I was laughing whilst doing them today thinking what a muppet I must look, so your post really reminded me! Still though I figure laughing whilst doing it is great for the abs :-D I will think of the turtle image tomorrow!

I hated those! I had to use the 2lb weights for those.
Yesterday was my first day of Level 2, and I loved it! I think it's so much fun! I only used 2lb weights b/c I wasn't sure what to expect, but today, I'm going to use the 5lb weights. For most of it anyway.0 -

No, I still can't. But I got to the point where Level I was boring, and my muscles didn't hurt anymore after Day 4. I continued through Day 10 though, sticking to the program.0 -
JM is turning me into a crazy -couldn't figure out what was 'wrong' today then realised it was getting out of bed without wincing & being able to walk around the office without pain...:laugh:

I hate the first cardio section - it seems longer then the rest. :laugh: oh god that kind of hurt because I actually did laugh when I typed that.
I can feel it working on my stomach and my legs today. Granted I did it twice back to back. Had to work out frustration from work somehow so I feel better and I think I can see my stomach looking smaller, yay!
So D4L1 has been done twice. Yay!
Okay so I have an hour before getting back to work and that'll give me time to make up dinner. I'm going to bake some chicken and do the marinade that boncharlie suggested. It sounds yummy! The others I'll do for next week well plan them into next week menu anyhow.0 -
its nearly 10:30pm and I'm admitting semi defeat as I havnt done my shred today ( not through pain from doing the shred but I'm just feeling really poorly today and am gonna take a few days out and then jump back in and restart my shred when I'm feeling better. Good luck to you all... oh & please feel free to 'punch' Jillian for me!!! LOL0

I had to skip yesterday for circumstances beyond my control.. Although I am trying to find a way around those circumstances so we don't have a repeat. I made the older girls keep up with the littles today so I could get today in. So I am on day three of level one.
I am thankful that we have this challenge. It keeps me willing to come back to do it. As weird as that sounds since I don't actually "know" any of you.:) I still feel accountable.
I actually like the boxing move. I can handle the push ups. I need a new bra that fits for the jumping jacks and jump rope though. I losing it in the top first and it is causing issues. At least no one can see me.0 -
Day 7 done! I moved here recently and was talking to a friend on skype. She had just started too so she put the DVD in and we shredded together via skype! So much more fun! And it was nice to watch her instead of Anita's perfect abs lol. I've been really pushing my squats and the backs of my legs burn a bit more than they were before.0

Ok, we did ours today. I had an awful day today and we didn't do it until like 10 pm so... I don't know, I don't think I gave it my all.
I feel like I will never get any better at pushups. I can manage like 7 modified ones in the first round but by the time I get through the hellish combination move, I can only manage like 3 or 4 before I collapse on the floor and whimper. Damn these shoulders!0 -

Now the reason for my post, sorry...... because of that appointment I got home at 9pm today and did my 3rd day of the 30 day shred!!!! I have found my MOTIVATION!!!!! ) )

Yes !! I finished D4L1 still in time for today ! As a lot of you, I also felt a "break through" today, and had no pain ! Felt like I kicked @ss today !! I was even staring Anita down like - you want a piece of this ?!
Anywho - I too LOVE having all of you around me eventhough down deep inside we are mostly complete strangers ! I still also feel the accountability I have towards each and everyone of you. Thanks for being here, and making this so much easier than if I had been all by my lonesome self.... I might have stopped at Day 1....
