Can I join? My 40th birthday is in 3 weeks!
I lost a little more than 40 lbs with the help of MFP and WW back in 2011/2012. Unfortunately, I let some of that weight come back! I have been on track since January 2015... losing slowly but surely (1-2 lbs per week). I have 14 lbs to lose to get back to goal!
Her are my stats:
5'0"
HW 161.3 (Sept. 2011)
GW 120 (attained in April 2012)
CW 134.2 (March 12, 2015)
GW 120 (hoping to hit this by mid-late June, 2015).

But it was a discontinued model, and marked down from $450 to $300. I'm tempted to leave it in the truck tonight, and put it in the river in the morning. Might as well go ahead and break it in right.

How hysterical! Look what I bought last night!
Ok I'm feeling left out! I have a river very close that I have contemplated exploring with a kayak.... Perhaps one will accidentally slip into my SUV ( will search Craig's list for a used one!)0 -
Crosbylee: always hard to dedicate time to ones self. Harder for some than for others. This is the first time in my life that I think I am finding a slight balance and getting at least a 40 minute walk in every day - you can do it!!
Allenpriest- good luck on the lab results and congrats on the 90 pounds gone!! You are a Rockstar and your mentality - the reality that good genetics will only last so long... I wish it was contagious! Keep it up!
Beeps2011- nice work lifting heavy things and I had to Lol at the thought of you photo bombing the session
Bradleykelly- welcome. I am brand new here as well
Mommylern- in 2012 I successfully lost 20 pounds and bought a Trek... But the bike was not complete without proper wardrobe and I think the hot pink racing shirt and black bike shorts made me faster! Lol! Enjoy your new workout outfit and get them gym shoes ASAP
Littlenell- love that you clarified chips/fries I immediately only think of chips as the American version but ironically for lunch Friday I had fish n chips which in that context is almost always fries !! Your skills with your graphs is impressive!
Alf1163. Your proteins looks delicious. I am struggling to balance my fat and protein. Seems if I hit my protein goal my fats are too high! Work in progress!!0 -

Good morning peeps!!! Happy St. Patrick's Day! I hope that you all have a fabulous day! It's snowing here today so I will be running inside after work. Can't wait until it's warm enough to run outside consistently. I'm such a wimp. Anything under 25 degrees and my hiney is inside running. LOL0

Thanks trish56832! I am still working on it. I used to take my daughter in a stroller with me. Now she is a bit older and wants to get in and out of it. She gets impatient so sometimes it is easier to not have her with me. Now is when I would like to be back in the gym so I can focus on what I am doing and not worry about her jumping around so much. I do try and encourage her to exercise, but being that she is five years old, she just needs to be a kid for now.0 -

Hi Kids,
Hope all of you are well and in good spirits.
I see there is a lot of activity on here and that is a good thing. The pictures does provide insight into each person's personality.
I took extreme fit last night and we had a 15 minute tabata segment and the class was winded (OMG). It was fairly warm and we had to run outside. Will do some cardio tonight.
Keep up the great work everyone.

Happy St. Patrick's Day Cool Kids!
Of course I totally forgot when I was packing my clothes last night, and don't have a green thread on. And my peeps come from Scotland and Ireland. Oops.
The ride home last night wasn't too hard, and I still managed to get up and to the gym at 5 a.m. Will go to Hard CORE at lunch. Then it's girl's night. We'll walk so we can fit the bacon salad into our calorie limits!
Kayaks!! Love it.
Caramel, very happy to hear it's starting to warm up in your corner of the world. It's been such a long winter for the right side of the continent.
LittleNell, nice work! I've been trying to teach myself conditional formatting in Excel, and just can't get it consistently right. That's a great way to track!
Alf, that's beautiful food!
Beeps, way to go! And I hope you did photobomb them!
Crosbylee, good to hear about your kiddo. It is hard to find time for yourself, isn't it?!?! I've been really happy with the workouts my personal trainer put together for me. I'm in and out of the gym in about 40 minutes, 4x per week. It's very doable for me. I hope you find something that works as well for you!
Hello to all the rest of you Cool Kids, and welcome new folks!
Back to work with me! :flowerforyou:0 -
I should have photobombed....0

Hi. I'm 42, been dealing with excess weight all my life.
Just recommitted to losing the weight in Feb, and have lost 6 lbs. in the past month. Hoping to keep that going.
Need to lose about 45-50 lbs more, so this is just the beginning.0 -
2 hours 10 minutes upstream on the Chipola River from 10 Mile Creek to Look 'N Tremble Rapids. After drifting for a half hour while I ate lunch, then a side trip up another small creek, 55 minutes back downstream to 10 mile. Other than sunburned knees, a pretty good day.

Morning Cool Kids!!!
Hope that every one had a fabulous St. Patrick's Day! Did a very painful 3 mile run/walk after work yesterday that turned into mostly walk due to shin splints early on. That's what I get for not walking to warm up as long as I normally do. *Sigh*
Yoga tonight after work and tomorrow I will attempt to run again. Hopefully it will be better. Will probably only do 2 miles this time. LOL
Hope that everyone has a great day!!!!0 -
allenpriest wrote: »Sad day. A good friend and mentor has died. He was my age, had type 2 diabetes and lots of extra weight. He was having serious health issues from the years of diabetes and lack of control. I think he just sort of gave up.
I am sad to lose him. And I am more determined to stay the course on lose this weight. I was bigger then him but better genetics have kept me out of the sugar issues. But I started this 15 months and 90 pounds ago because I knew the good genes would not save me forever.
RIP Steve.
I'm sorry for your loss. Staying the course is a great way to honour your friend. ((HUGS))

Hi all,
allen- that is dreadful news about your dear friend. So sorry to hear that.
Alf - what a lovely picture of you and your granddaughter. You do look wonderful and of course shopping is what we girls do. At least that is what my granddaughter and I do. -
Hatful -the teahouse and botanical garden outing sounds like a delightful way to get a taste of spring! I hear you on the long, dreadful winters. Glad the sun is starting to shine and the days are getting longer!
vomkey - beautiful family picture!
curious - congrats on the weight loss! Woot! Woot! Great workout plan- you are giving Carmel a run for her money.
Larro - that red ride sure is a beauty. Looks like a smooth ride too.
mommy - great pic of you and the girls. Wonderful that they like to run with you. More motivation to get out the door.
Beeps - you should have so photo bombed the shoot.
have been MIA, but have been going non stop. I have been working out daily (with the exception of yesterday). I continue to snowshoe and go to my exercise classes. Saturday was a full day of house cleaning - much needed house cleaning. Felt great. The sun is starting to shine brightly and at times, it does feel like spring is in the air. But that can be deceiving. Bright sunny day today, but the temperatures are frigid. It was -17C this morning (1F). It's funny how darn cold that feels now, when in the middle of January it would be a good running weather day. lol.
Am planning a cycling trip. Plan to head out in May and go for two weeks. So excited! Now, working on trying to find a good bike to rent instead of transporting my own.
Not sure I will get much training in beforehand as we still very high snowbanks and not much shoulder on the sides of the highway....but soon.0 -
Happy Hump Day all! Had fun with the boy yesterday! Went to the library and McDonald's to play and then stopped at Teddy Bear Mountain(like build-a-bear). Fun! Fun! Fun!
Here's a couple of pictures:
Hubby had a great day yesterday as well and took a couple of steps using the parallel bars. Very exciting!
No workout for me until Friday this week. This might be a good thing as I am still having some issues with the back of my left thigh. It is still bothering me quite a bit especially when doing things like going up and down stairs. We'll see.

Good Morning Cool Kids.
Today is a good planting day, and my cleaning lady will be here shortly. So I'm running back and forth between the garden and the washing machine. I'm a day late on my corned beef, but we had Mexican at Sister's last night. I have one of those 3 crock crockpots, so I sliced the brisket and divided it into thirds. One third just straight up beef, one third potatoes and one third cabbage. {Can I count the same time as cardio for cleaning, food prep and garden? I'm doing all three}
Got to run. Hope everyone is having a good day,
Larro0 -
No workout for me, today....which is fine. I lifted m/tu and I will lift th/fr, too!
Saturday = cardio....boring, I know, I know....but, the time has come!! FLUFF-BE-GONE!
BOOM!0 -
Well I only did a 20 min workout today bc I was busy w/ my 17 yr old daughter at our performing arts theater. She has a drawing entered in the visual arts part of the program there tonight!

Larro, Lookslikefun
Stephanie, hope your run goes better!
Sdereski, sounds like quite the trip you have planned.
Kellysue, what a cutie! Glad to hear your husband is doing well.
Well so far it's been the usual. 6am kettlebell Monday and today and Kickboxing last night. Still finding my knee is getting sore, guess it'll just take a bit of time to heal. It's finally beautiful and sunny, though still cold. Should have gone for a walk with the kids but crashed on the couch instead! Have managed to make mac n cheese for dinner so maybe we'll go for a walk after dinner.
They've now delayed hubby's start on day shift so for the next week or two (hopefully no more) starting Monday I'm back to work 8:30-4:30 and we have a teenage sitter picking them up from the bus and watching them until I get home at 5. So not looking forward to the rush and constant go go go to get 3 kids ready for school, make lunches, dinners, clean up, home work, work out and whatever else life throws our way, while being back to work full time. Part Time (Home by 2-3) makes everything so much more doable. Wasn't going to be so bad going back full time with hubby on days as he would be home before me and could do dinner. Must remember to cook up a storm on Sunday!0 -
Georgianna Unfortunatly it was not as dry or as warm as I thought it was supposed to be so no run this past weekend. I did do lots of walking Sunday, did 17,149 steps that day.0
-
Tried to sneak in a workout at lunch but really hard to turn that in an hour. Probs won't be able to sustain that regularly. Looks like 5:00 AM again. Still got half hour cardio and 15 minutes of weights in.0
