Hi Ladies, today's workouts were Beginner Gentle, Ice Rock'm Sock'm Kickbox Timesaver Premix, and a new yoga style (to me) called Ashtanga Yoga. This yoga style is more physical; which I loved because it felt like a workout. My inner thighs, hamstrings and upper back got a nice workout. I actually feel DOMS! I'll be doing Ashtanga yoga again! I also had my Japa Mala meditation class. It was great and learned more today.

Here is some info on Ashtanga Yoga:

    https://somuchyoga.com/ashtanga-yoga/

I found this Ashtanga instructor on youtube and she is very good.
This particular class is very much like the one I did today:
    https://tinyurl.com/y6upmmso

The weather this week has been on the cool side. We've had sunny days but the wind is on the cold side. If I still lived in MA I would've called this weather a heatwave! LOL. I actually slept well again last night!

My uncle remains stable. The doctors are still treating him for the bronchial infection. I am concerned that they still haven't been able to get feedback from the lung specialist. Hopefully, they'll have some news tomorrow. My uncle was hospitalized one month ago today!

Laurie, great 30MTF workout! Thanks for inspiring me to do Rock'm Sock'm!
Video calls are much different than writing to each other every day! It was a wonderful experience. I am starting to feel the same way you do about the virus. God knows when a vaccine will be available! I doubt life will be back to normal soon though. Is your DH not enjoying the stay at home period because he's not working?
Thank God my DH is used to working from home and is busy with work Monday through Friday.

Erika, it really was fun talking to our little group last night. Thanks so much for suggesting the idea and for setting it up! I hope we'll be able to get Tami to join us next time.

Wow, you guys finished those puzzles very quickly! Good luck finding more stuff to do! I bet your youngest would love to get some drive time in! Someone I know is using this time to teach her son how to drive.

I feel like I'd forgotten what it was like to actually sleep through the night! I did feel like a new person. I am spending a long time downstairs in my exercise room. I do a one hour class in the morning, then have breakfast, do things around the house I need to do, then go back downstairs for another workout. I take breaks in between workouts. I keep busy in between workouts with cooking, cleaning, talking to my aunts on the phone. I am actually enjoying filling my days with workouts because I'm feeling stronger.

My uncle's doctors see the bronchial infection as a minor setback which is amazing. He really is in a good hospital. We couldn't have asked for better care. I'll have to tell my aunt those infections are common when people have had virus/pneumonia. Baby steps! I keep telling my aunt that baby steps are better than nothing at all.

Laurel, I'm so glad you had a nice evening celebrating your DH's bday! Sorry, he had to go office today. Hopefully, he won't need to go back for a while. There is no sense in thinking about things opening up again.

It seems that my uncle's doctors see this bronchial infection as a minor setback! My aunt really has been riding a horrific emotional roller coaster. She definitely wishes she could turn the calendar back a few months. she is doing better and is eating again.

Think about the Japa Mala meditation class. I think it will help you when you're feeling frustrated and stressed. It would be nice if we could get Tami to do this class because she really could use a little calming/grounding energy.

    Goodnight ladies!

    Morning Ladies,

This morning was 30MTF Cardio Quick Fix Workout 1. I'm going to be working from home tomorrow, it just seemed like a good idea to do it on a Friday. :D

Erika, I hear you on being puzzled out. We did that over Christmas vacation. I started one, and it just sat there until I realized that it needed to get put away. It is actually a really good time for you youngest to get some drive time in, since there isn't as much traffic right now. Hope that you are able to find something that will be of interest for the family. Kelly has two of the harder premixes on that DVD. The one that I did was workout 1 with bonus moves, and then there is the workout 2 with the bonus moves. I'm trying to explore more premixes on a lot of these DVD's.

Laurel, Oh steak and potatoes sounds awesome! Your evening sounds wonderful, and of course that is probably my type of movie also. :D Now don't laugh, I'm a huge fan of the Fast and Furious movies. I also enjoy anything with aliens in them. Everyone here at work thinks that I'm a very strange female. They probably just envy my DH that he has someone that enjoys watching those movies. :D Dang on your cold weather, and having to move all those plants into the house. We had another frosty morning, and I can already tell that the poor daffodils have not been enjoying it. Most of the new plants that I started last year appear to be still alive. I'm hoping that I see more progress as the days start to warm up.

Thelma, Wow you really rocked those workouts! Thanks for the information on the yoga, I will have to check it out because I really enjoy the more physical yoga. Glad to hear that you had another good night of sleep. That is a long time for you Uncle to be in the hospital, and I hope that they are able to get the infection treated so he can go home. I'm sure that you Aunt is wanting him home also. I love that you where inspired by me to try Rock'm Sock'm premix. I like that #5 premix, because it has all of the boxing segments, and then she puts in just enough cardio moves to make it an excellent workout. DH is not enjoying working from home, he says that there are to many distractions. Of course it doesn't help that his Mom is calling him all the time to complain. I think when he is actually at work she doesn't bother him as much as she is now.

    Have a great day!

    Happy Thursday!

Yesterday was KCM Total Kickbox Workout #2. It was ok. Not my fave, not the worst I've done. Just felt like it left something more to be desired for some reason.

I spent the rest of the evening helping with homework (the boys had a lot yesterday) after my youngest finally woke up. He's been sleeping a lot the last 2 days and come to find out, he's got a lowgrade fever. Not sure why/how he has that, as he hasn't left the house except to drive around since March 11th. However, my boys run temps when they have colds and possibly with allergies too. They have been out in our yard, and we've had a lot of up and down temps, so very possible he could be getting a cold. However, no symptoms except tired and a low fever. We'll see how he feels today when he wakes up.

Laurel, sounds like a perfect birthday for DH to me! My hubby would pick steak and potatoes and a guy movie as well! Thanks for the info on the bike, I wasn't aware you could do the Peloton app without a Peloton bike. Good to know as we still are considering adding a spin bike. I like the idea of using regular shoes, so I'm leaning toward something more like what you have. Wonderful workouts, they sound very fun!

Thelma, I really like your workout schedule of morning with a break and then afternoon. I've heard a lot of people are doing that, and one of the Beachbody trainers (Autumn) actually commented about that on her Instagram story the other day. I've heard of Ashtanga yoga, but to be honest I do very little yoga (trying to get better at it) so I haven't tried many of the styles.

Laurie, I feel like a broken record...I also did that workout recently. I like that one a lot too! I'm also working on trying to do more pre-mixes, both with Kelly and Cathe. I feel like there are some fun options out there that I'm missing out on!

    Hi Tami!

I hope you are all getting some sunshine today! We are slowly warming up...a whopping 48 here today...wooohooo!

Hi Ladies! I decided to workout with Cathe live this morning. She did a workout called ‘Thighs and Glutes’. Unfortunately, the workout started over again after ten minutes which isn’t really too bad.....but would have been better if the workout didn’t end up being an hour long. :o So that made it 70 minutes for me, and my legs were spent. So after a little break, I decided to ditch the workout I had planned (which was another metabolic workout.....which I knew my legs would rebel against) and went for straight cardio. I ended up with Cathe Live Cardio Kickboxing, Low Impact HiiT and core. It was a good choice for my tired legs.

Thelma, great workouts! Your daily routine sounds pretty similar to mine except I usually squeeze my workouts in between breakfast and lunch. But I always take a break between and do some chores and such. My body definitely responds better with a break between those workouts, even if it is just 15-20 minutes. I am glad to hear your uncle’s doctors think this infection is not too much of a concern right now. Hoping for good news every day from here on out. Thanks for the information on Ashtanga Yoga. I tend to enjoy more physical yoga as well. And I am definitely interested in trying the meditation, even if just once. My mind needs to learn how to relax. :)

Laurie, great workout! Will you be working from home more and more? I hope so if that makes you feel more comfortable. My DH has just about hit his wall on working from home right now. He is really hoping to be back in the office in a couple of weeks, even if on a modified schedule. The steak and potatoes would not be my choice for a meal but, like you, I have a tendency to prefer more action type movies than other movies (except for Hallmark Christmas movies during the holiday season :) ). I need to be in the right mood to watch anything labeled ‘drama’ anymore.....and I am rarely in that mood. When I was younger, it was a different story. But I think age has taught me that diversion from reality is a very positive thing. :)

Erika, some workouts are like that. Good.....but not great. Good job getting it done, though. I hope your DS is feeling better. I can’t imagine you are too comfortable with him having a fever right now but, hopefully, as you suggested it is allergies or a cold. The Peloton app is really easy to use and not too expensive ($12.99 a month). But they have hundreds if not thousands of workouts. Really good stuff.

    Until tomorrow.

Hi Ladies ~ :) I finally came up for a little fresh air! GEEZ. Between working at home Wed thru Friday, returned to the office Monday and was slammed with work (still). I filled in for our customer service lady who was sick (luckily tested negative but was home that whole time) she doesn’t know what she had but she said if she knew what COVID19 felt like she may have chose that instead. :D:( Needless to say it’s been a little hectic.
We are all doing really well as an office though, other than the scare with a couple sicknesses that weren’t COVID everyone is hanging in there.

    Workouts:

Friday: Peloton Power Walk 30 minutes + Peloton Ride 30 min.
Saturday PHA 2 Xtreme + Peloton 45 min Ride
Sunday: LITE Pyramid Legs + Peloton Ride (30 min HiiT) + Peloton Power Walk (45 min) later in the day.
    Monday: Peloton Ride 45 min.
    Tuesday: Burn Sets Chest/Back/Shoulders
Today: Burn Sets Tris/Bis + Peloton Ride

I keep saying this I know, but I will try and catch up with everyone but wanted to let you know I am doing well and keeping up with some nice workouts! ;) I absolutely loved being able to go on Power Walks for my lunch break while at home. Our weather is supposed to be nice for another week and then start raining so that feels nice.

Talk to you all soon . . . . Tami

Hi Ladies, my workouts today were Revive and Restore Yoga which was half Ashtanga and half Restorative. Sculpting Fusion/Hiit and LIS Lower Body Trisets.

I didn't sleep well last night so working out was a struggle. I was dragging all day long. I had to take a little cat nap this afternoon before doing the LIS workout. I don't take naps but today I needed it.

My uncle is stable. The doctors think the antibiotics are starting to work but they were going to run a CT scan to make sure they haven't missed anything with this infection. No news from the lung specialist yet. The doctor told my aunt that my uncle is breathing a little better and that today woke him up a little more and he was able to focus on the person talking to him. The doctor also told my aunt that this type of infection is common for someone who's been through what my uncle has. Exactly what Erika said.

Laurie, awesome KCM workout! I think you would love Ashtanga yoga. My instructor didn't chant or at least I don't remember that.
My uncle has been in the hospital for a long time already and he'll be there a while longer. My aunt wants to have him back home badly.

I really enjoyed doing Rock'm Sock'm. My knees don't like me jumping anymore but I was able to do it. Too bad your MIL is distracting your DH so much that he can't enjoy working from home.
    How is your youngest doing?

Erika, great job with the KCM workout even though it wasn't your fave. I'm sorry your youngest has a lowgrade fever. It must be a cold or allergies if he hasn't left the house since March 11th. I hope he feels better soon.

I am liking my workout schedule because it is keeping me from becoming a couch potato and I have a routine. I always wanted to learn yoga and tried it on my own and hurt my shoulder. I was happy to find out that yoga is a big thing around here so there are quite a few yoga places. I took private lessons for a while and that was a game-changer for me. I needed somebody to teach me the right way to do the different poses because in a studio class the instructors don't have time to correct everybody's pose imperfections.

    Laurel, great workout combo!
I need longer breaks than you do. I still don't know how you do it!
We are hoping for good news on my uncle every day going forward too. I hope you try one of those Ashtanga classes.

Tami, I'm so glad you're Ok and that your co-worker tested negative. Great workouts!!
Don't worry about catching up! Just let us know you're OK when you have some time.

    Goodnight ladies!

    Morning Ladies,

This morning was RAW Step Drills & Compound Moves. Another good workout. Each move was 30 seconds, and she did 4 cardio moves and then 4 compound weighted moves. It was low impact and used a step, but I was sweating buckets.

Erika, Nice job on the workout! That particular DVD is not a favorite of mine either. At least it is not one that I pull out that often. I think that it is a good workout, but just has a very different vibe than her usual ones. Sorry to hear that your ds has a fever. Mine always had fevers when they had a cold, and then it usually ended up with them having an ear infection. :/ I hope he feels better today. Since we are both doing Kelly workouts, I'm not surprised that we are crossing over on the workouts. Next week I'm going to be doing some Jessica Smith workouts. ;)

Laurel, I wonder why those live workouts start over again for you. Great job doing those workouts though! For me this is kind of a test run, but I don't see myself doing this more than once or twice a week. It always seems that their is something on my desk that I need when I'm home. To tell the truth I like my two monitors, this single little screen is hard to deal with. :D I usually have multiple things open on my laptop, so it helps to have two monitors. I think that I needed a break from the office, and a Friday seems to be a good one to choose. My boss has been under a lot of pressure, and he is taking the afternoon off also. I think all of us have finally hit that wall where the stress isn't as great around the plant, so we felt it was okay to take some time off.

Tami, Awesome job on all those workout! Glad to hear that the co-worker is feeling better. The flu is a tough thing to go through no matter what version it comes in for sure. I really think that there may be two different flu viruses going around, the COVID and something else. I remember all the health professionals telling everyone to get their flu shots, and people with flu shots getting sick. I'm glad that you where able to get on line to let us know that you are doing okay. Also very glad that you are enjoying working at home. DH and I went on a longer walk this morning, because I didn't need to drive or get myself all presentable for work. :D Like you my dd is very busy with closings, a lot of people are refinancing around here.

Thelma, Great job on rocking those workouts! Sorry to hear about the sleep problem, but nice that you could have a little nap. Very good news on your Uncle, and will keep him in my prayers for a good recovery. Hey you pegged my right on the chanting, that is something I don't enjoy. I'm not a jumper as much anymore, but can get a bit of air under my foot. Probably not as much as I could when I was younger. My youngest is really wanting to get back to work, I think that she has cleaned and painted about as much as she can. She wants to start dressing up and not being in her pf's all day long. :D

    Have a great day!

Hi Ladies! Today’s workout was the upper body premix from 4Day Split, which is so good, followed by a 30 minute HiiT and Hills ride with Peloton. And DH and I are getting ready to go for a walk since it is 70 degrees outside and not raining. They are predicting more rain on Sunday, so I want to enjoy this while we can. :)

Tami, thank you so much for checking in! I am so glad that your co-worker didn’t have COVID-19. Bet that news eased your mind tremendously. I am glad everything is going okay at work as well. Great job with the workouts through all this chaos!

Thelma, great workouts! I am sorry to hear about the sleepless night, but glad you took a little nap. Sometimes they help. My sleep right now is so disjointed. I said to DH last night that I don’t think I ever felt quite as tired as I did last night. :o I think the combination of stress, sadness (at this whole situation and what it is doing to people), allergies (and my ever-present headache) and some tough workouts just have depleted me this week.....the headache being the main culprit in how I felt yesterday. But, once again, in the middle of the night I was :o . Oh well. I feel a little better today, though. Anyhow, I am glad your uncle is stable. It really sounds like he is receiving fantastic care.

Laurie, great workout! Hope your day at home provides you some stress relief. DH shares your need for two monitors....so we now have two monitors in our little office space. :) But he really likes his set up, which is good. Without this, I think he would be at work. :# I thought the situation with the live workouts was due to our internet, but after yesterday, I am not sure about it. But it is only on the live ones, not those previously recorded, so I am okay with it. My legs today, though, are not quite as good with it. :D They are sore!

    Enjoy the weekend.

Hi Ladies and Happy Friday! Again it does not feel like Friday to me ……. Another long week forsure. That panicky stress feeling isn’t there like it was, just that things are different. DH has been sleeping terrible and having nightmares still so it keeps me awake too. Today I am headed home to get in a fun Peloton walk or ride. I did get my ride in last night and it was fun. I was even laughing once and a while at the comments so that felt good. One of my friends who recently purchased a Peloton signed me up with a group of her Peloton friends who are local and so they text if they are going to be doing a ride and at what time/high five on the Peloton rides. It is nice having a local group to ride with. Couple little moments to share with you all . . . I did a Peloton ride with my 15-year old Nephew (virtual of course) from L.A. on Easter Sunday. It was so fun and I guess he loved it. My sister said he was “proud” that I rode with him. Aaaaawwww, so cute. Monday, April 13th was my Mom's Birthday so DH made a very nice homemade spaghetti dinner for us. It was super thoughtful of him and we toasted to my mom with a nice glass of wine.

Thelma: Thank you for the nice message and for thinking of me the other day too when I missed our group chat. One of these days I hope to do that. Of course you will all have to let me know how it’s done. I am continuing to pray for your Uncle. What a long road it has been for him and your Aunt too. Way to go with the Yoga and Sculpt Fusion/Hii + Lower Body Tri-Sets.

Laurie: Awesome job with your workouts! Sounds like this a.m. was a great one! So you are working from home 100% of the time right now? Sounds like you are liking it though? Funny you guys are talking about the 2 monitors. Normally I have two while I am here at work and when the “at home” work started I had to take one there since I don’t have an actual computer at home. So now I am re-adjusting to having one in both places. Really strange but it’s hopefully a temporary thing. Thank you to you as well for the kudos on my workouts. IT has felt really good to be doing them and since that is pretty much my whole accomplishment/entertainment and feel good for each day I am trying to get something in each day. Working at home was a lot of fun. Not sure when I will be doing that again, all depends what happens in the next few weeks I suppose. Day-by-day.

Laurel: Sounds like a fantastic combo you did this a.m. I bet you enjoyed that walk with your DH thoroughly …. 70 degrees sounds so nice. We are going to hit 60 today with sunshine and it feels so nice. Thank you for the kudos and encouragement throughout this chaos. Trying to adjust to it all and keep getting my workouts in! Loving being back in the Strength and variety of our rotation. Thank you again for designing it. As we talked before, some days I go off script but trying to stick with strength. It’s so easy to just jump on my bike but I know I need both. Mentally and physically.

Hi Erika ~ I am sorry I missed our group chat you organized …. I had a feeling it was just not going to work out for me with being at home, not at home, etc. Hopefully the next time I will. Excellent job with your workouts.

Have a nice weekend ladies! Tami

Hi Ladies, I hope you had a nice weekend. We had a nice and quiet weekend. My workouts were on Friday: Restorative Healing Yoga, Barre, and LIS Upper Body Split. On Sunday STS Meso 3, Disc 28 Chest & Back, stretching. I was really happy with my STS workout because I don't remember being able to use 20 lb dumbbells to do flies or bench press and tonight I did it! :)

Great news about my uncle. You might need a tissue box! Last week the doctors did an ultrasound and discovered tiny gallstones; which the doctor said were dangerous because they can travel to other areas. The doctors were concerned about brain damage because my uncle was just staring into space. The doctors wanted to remove the gallstones and would try to do them on Saturday via endoscopy.

Sunday's update was good because they did the endoscopy on Saturday and extracted the stones. The doctor also said that my uncle seemed 'more present'. We were happy with that update. Later on in the afternoon, the hospital called again with a video call so my aunt could see my uncle! She kept telling him how much she loved him and to be strong because she was waiting for him at home. She was only able to see his face and he had the oxygen mask on. The doctor kept telling my uncle "it's your wife, it's your wife!". He started blinking really fast and the doctor said: "he recognizes you!". The most amazing thing was when the doctor told my aunt that my uncle was breathing on his own! Oh my gosh, ladies, we have cried tears of happiness today and kept praising the Lord and thanking Him for this miracle. I keep telling my aunt that my uncle is a living miracle.
I had no idea how close the hospital was to my aunt's place. She actually can see the hospital from the windows on one side of their condo! So close, yet so far!

Laurie, great job with that RAW Step Drills workout. It really sounds like a very good one! The chanting on that yoga workout seemed to be just in the beginning for maybe 30 seconds. I just ignored it because I had no idea what she was saying. I do a little jumping and try to make sure I land softly. I may not jump during the entire jumping segment but at least I do a little and move my arms like crazy to make sure I get the heart rate going.

I can just imagine that your dd wants to get back to work. I keep praying so that all the people who lost their jobs are able to get back to work soon. I'm living in sweatpants or leggings and t-shirts.
Thank you so much for keeping my uncle in your prayers!

Laurel, great workout combo on Friday! We are getting heavy rain now but at least it's not the storm they were predicting on Friday.

I managed to sleep better this weekend thankfully. I'm sorry you're having sleep issues too. This pandemic situation is really stressful and sad. I am worried that when people go back to work there will be a second wave. Allergies are so bad here! My DH who hardly ever sneezed when we lived in MA is sneezing more often here. Having a headache is worst than not being able to sleep at night. Is it a sinus headache? I am wide awake the moment my head hits the pillow and then it takes me over an hour to fall asleep just to wake up an hour later. I'm so glad you were feeling better on Friday. I hope the rain will help with the allergies and that headache.
Thank you for keeping my uncle in your prayers!

Tami, so good to hear from you. I am so glad you're OK. I am glad your panicky stress feeling isn't as intense anymore. Sorry about your DH having nightmares. He must be worried and stressed about this pandemic too.
How wonderful that you're doing your Peloton rides with locals! OMG, how sweet of your nephew to do the Peloton ride and to feel proud that you rode with him. Happy birthday to your dear mom. Your DH is so sweet and thoughtful!
I hope you can join us next time we do a Zoom call. It's easy to do and we'll help you.
Thank you for keeping my uncle in your prayers. It has been a long road and when he gets out of this hospital, he'll go to a rehab place.

    Have a wonderful week ladies!

    Morning Ladies,

Had another good weekend, but no workouts again. I just can't get myself motivated, but I'm actually okay with that. On Saturday I got a quilt top finished, and on Sunday I started doing some organization in of all the fabric that we have. I needed some cotton fabric, but the bin that I needed was at the bottom. So DH and I went through all the bins and organized, tossed or put on the give away pile.

My workout this morning was Jessica's Walk Strong 3 Cardio HiiT. I will have to start a list of all the kickboxing workouts that are my favorites, because this one would be right at the top of the pile. ;)

Laurel, Great workouts! I hope that you where able to get in your walk. We are getting up into the 60's today, but it is suppose to rain. I was surprised how boring it was at home. I will probably do one day a week, but not more than that. It was hard to not try to do something else around the house, since the only thing I could rely on was my e-mail and phone. I love that I'm not the only one that likes the two monitors. :D You should see some of the monitors that the guys have in the office. They have the curved ones. :D Dang on the legs with that workout, and it is a good thing that you had all upper body the next day.

Tami, The rides that you have had sound like a lot of fun. I love that your nephew even wanted to do a ride with you, that age is so iffy. What a nice way to celebrate your mom's birthday remembrance. I hope that your DH's stress level with this virus decreases over time. I know that I was a lot like you at first, and then it has gotten so much better with the level of stress. You are probably about 2 weeks behind what I have been through. I am suppose to be 50% at home, but Friday was my first time even taking that day at home. Most of what I do is at my desk, but there is still a portion that I need to be out in the plant. Makes it hard when I'm not actually at work, and then realize that I need to go to the dock to check on a shipment of parts. I like being at work, it is easier to concentrate.

Thelma, Such great news on your Uncle, and will again pray for continued improvement. You are right, the tears did come to my eyes on hearing that your Aunt was able to visually see her DH. Awesome job on your workouts, and getting those 20lb's flies and presses. You are getting so strong!!! One of the things that I liked about Jessica's workout this morning was that she loves to move those arms, and it really does make the hr go up. That is probably one of the reasons that her workouts are so effective even though you don't jump around all that much. Of course this one she did have jumping, but her mom is in her corner doing the low impact. My dd was informed that she will have a job once they are able to go back to work. In fact she is one of the top ones that will be back, so she isn't worried about that aspect.

    Have a great day!

Hi Ladies! Hope you enjoyed the weekend. Ours was good. DH spent it doing more home improvement projects and I spent it cleaning up after his home improvement projects. :p I am really missing our weekends playing golf. :D We had a minor disaster on Saturday when the pipes under our kitchen sink decided they didn’t like where they were, so they disconnected from each other, flooding the cabinet and the kitchen floor. So DH had an extra special weekend because he was able to go to Lowe’s.....his favorite place. Hopefully the flooding won’t happen again, so it was worth him going.

For workouts, on Saturday I did Jessica Smith Feel Good Fusion followed by 30 minutes of yoga. Yesterday was STS Disc 29/Plyo Legs followed by a 30 minute spin with Peloton. Today was STS Disc 28/Chest and Back followed by Cathe Live Cardio HiiT Plus Core. DH and I also got in a nice walk during his lunch hour.

Tami, I am glad the stress levels are coming down a bit. I am sorry your DH is having so many problems sleeping. I am struggling with the same thing right now....insomnia and nightmares. No fun. I was feeling pretty calm for a couple of weeks and hope I can get back to that place again. I love that you have joined a community for your Peloton rides and that you got to ride with your nephew. Sounds like so much fun and a great way to connect. I really hope you can join us on our next chat. It is really easy to figure out. I am glad you are enjoying the strength portion of this rotation. Like you, I am keeping it flexible, but I love having a plan to start with. I am glad you celebrated your mom’s birthday. My dad’s birthday would have been Saturday, and DH and I toasted him that night. I am thinking about my dad a lot this week because it was the week before our wedding he got so sick, went into the hospital and only came out of the hospital to walk me down the aisle. He passed away three weeks later. And this is the 30th anniversary of all of that happening. And since tomorrow is our anniversary, that means tomorrow is your birthday!! :):) Hope you are doing something to celebrate!!

Thelma, great workouts! Like you, I am definitely getting stronger. I was surprised how much I was able to lift on that Chest and Back workout. Such wonderful news about your uncle! I love that your aunt was able to see him and that responded to seeing her!! Definitely brings tears to my eyes. It truly sounds like the people caring for him are doing everything to help him. He really is a miracle. Yes, the allergies here are brutal. Thankfully I experienced the same thing last year or I would be wondering every day if I had the virus! But the headache is all sinus related and, thankfully, seems better this week. I remember doing better in May last year, so as we get to the end of the month, I think things will improve. We had that heavy rain last night to.....but it was just rain. I am just fine with that. :)

Laurie, I am glad you took the weekend off and enjoyed it. But you did one of my favorite Jessica workouts this morning! Hands down that is my favorite workout in the Walk Strong 3 series, and there are quite a few great workouts in that series (with the lower body workout being right up there with that cardio workout). When you mentioned you were doing Jessica Smith this week, I got to thinking I hadn’t done a workout with her in a few weeks, which is why I did that one from YouTube Saturday morning. It put me in the best mood which is probably why I was able to endure the home improvement projects and kitchen flood that day without losing my mind! :D DH sometimes gets distracted working at home too. We are working on this puzzle, and Friday afternoon he joined me for a couple of hours. :o I kept reminding him to go back to work, but he just.....didn’t. He works long enough hours, so it all evens out. But it surprised me!

    Erika, hope you are well.

    See you tomorrow.

Hi Ladies, I did the most amazing workouts today! My Ashtanga yoga instructor has a cousin who teaches at Pure Barre in NH and she has offered to host a class on Mondays while she is sheltering in place. I had never taken a class like this and she was AMAZING! OMG, she literally kicked my butt. I waddled my way around the house for a couple of hours after that! LOL
I followed the Barre class with STS Meso 3 - Disc 38 Squat Rack Legs. Extended Stretch. I actually did the workout with the barbell which was a first for me and I loved it! I can't lift that barbell over my head so I loaded the barbell on the rack and put all my step risers with the small steps under the barbell. I sat on the step and lifted the barbell on my shoulders that way. I was so proud of myself today for doing this workout with the barbell. I definitely needed the extended stretch after that workout.
I finished my workouts with Ashtanga yoga which was so good after Cathe's workout! It helped me keep stretching my legs.

My uncle's condition remains stable and he no longer has the virus. The doctors continue to say that he is breathing better and continue to exercise his lungs by reducing the oxygen levels for a little while and increasing it when he needs more oxygen. The physical therapist talks to him when she's with him and he seems to understand so he is definitely more present.

I don't know if you heard but GA is going to start opening for business again. Gyms, hair and nail salons, massage places and something else will be able to open this Friday! WHAT? There is no way to social distance oneself from those situations. Restaurants and movie theaters will be able to open on Monday. I don't understand how we qualify to allow people to go back to work when our infected cases keep going up. We have 18 cases in our county and 1 death. The person was 74 and had underlying conditions. We will continue to shelter in place.

Laurie, I'm glad you had a good weekend. Sometimes our bodies need a break from workouts. I have been taking Saturdays off. Good job keeping yourself busy working on your quilt and organizing fabric.
While I worked I always had two monitors and I loved that setup. Once I stopped working I didn't need a second monitor and now I only have my laptop.

Good job with that JS workout! I didn't know that was a kickboxing workout. I'll have to check it out.

My aunt told me that she couldn't even dial the number to call the hospital for the video call because her hands were shaking so much. She was glad that she didn't cry during the call too. Thanks so much for those prayers! Jessica does love to move her arms and I love that. I am so glad your dd is going to get her job back!

Laurel, I'm glad you had a good weekend. OMG with those pipes under the kitchen sink! Thank God your DH was able to fix the problem. He must've loved going to Lowe's! LOL

Great workouts and good for you for making your DH go for walks during his lunch hour!

I am really excited about my new found strength. I am so glad you're getting stronger too! I never felt this strong before and it is an amazing feeling.
It was so good for my aunt and my uncle to see each other. I think this will give them the strength to keep going.
I coughed a couple of times this morning after the Barre class and it was a dry cough. Right away I started to wonder if I had the virus because we had two guys come to give DH an estimate on staining our house and neither of the men wore masks! DH had a mask on but he wasn't keeping his distance and I was going nuts watching him from inside the house. We're OK so far. I was glad we only got rain. It was on the windy side this morning. More rain for us on Thursday.

    Goodnight ladies!

    Morning Ladies,

This morning my workout was Walk On: Get Strong Stepping Strength. This is one that I have not done yet, and wow so so so good. It is a cardio strength workout, and she really does work the whole body. The cardio sections are 45 seconds of one exercise. I may change my mind and just do all Jessica workouts, but we will see. I may do a week of Kelly and then a week of Jessica. I always forget how good of an instructor Jessica is.

Laurel, Sorry to hear about the water situation, and nice that your DH had a chance to go to his favorite store. ;) Great job on all your workouts, and glad that I could inspire your workout instructor choice. She is such a great instructor, and now I want to own all her workouts. I have a lot of them in downloadable versions. Actually I enjoy them as downloads, since she doesn't have premixes on her workouts. The one I did this morning is from her newer Walk On: Get Strong workout. I get e-mails from Jessica, and she created a Spring Calm and Strong 4 week rotation. It has her DVD's and an alternate youtube workout if you don't have the DVD. This morning I actually did the wrong workout, but I'm glad that I did because it was so good. :D \

Thelma, Your barre workout sounds really good, and nice that you could do a workout from an instructor so far away. I'm sure that she is glad to be instructing people even though she isn't able to do it live. Good job with figuring out how to deal with the barbell. So happy to hear about the continued improvement with your Uncle. I love that your Aunt was so excited to see her DH. I wish that our governor was able to make a decision, we have the latest date of any state in this area for opening up. We have counties in this state that have no cases at all, but their business is shut down. They are all getting frustrated.

If anyone wants to take a look at Jessica's rotation here is the link. https://jessicasmithtv.com/calm-and-strong-4-week-stress-relieving-rotation/

    Have a great day!

    Happy Tuesday!

I had posted yesterday, but see it never made it to the board! Workouts this weekend were KCM Stepboxing (Friday and Saturday) and KCM Cardio Quick Fix on Sunday. Yesterday I started my first workout of the STS rotation and I'm hurting today!

Thelma, I'm so happy to hear your uncle is on the road to recovery. Sounds like he's doing better each day! I still can't believe the hospital was within eyesight for your aunt, so surreal to see the hospital but not able to go in! I heard on the news about GA opening starting Friday and I'm a bit shocked. I feel like it's too soon to open all of that at once. Maybe starting with one like hair salons and then give it a week to see how it goes? Hmm...I'll be following closely to see how it's all going. Nice work on the fun Barre workout! I can't believe you were able to follow that with Squat Rack legs. Did you use your Fit Tower as a squat rack?

Laurie, sounds like a perfect weekend to me with getting some crafting done! I like to feel productive in all areas, and sounds like me when I have a craft project I'm working on! I dedicate certain days (weekends are perfect) to that, and the week is dedicated to my fitness "craft." :) I'm checking out the Jessica rotation...I haven't done a workout with her in forever, and don't have any of her DVD's, but if I recall it's easy to find her on her YouTube channel.

Laurel, I'm giggling a bit over here with the hubby being able to go to Lowe's. I'm sure having water flowing in the house was not fun, but I'm sure he was ok with the trip to Lowe's. :) I was thinking of you this weekend as they opened up golf courses here. I haven't driven by one, but I can only imagine how busy they are. It's really the only thing open from a non-essential standpoint. I see you have been doing some Jessica workouts too...I better get to checking those out!

Tami, I'm glad to hear you made it through the week, and things sound like they are settling down a bit now that everyone has adjusted to new work arrangements and the confirmation that your coworker didn't have COVID. The Peloton ride with your nephew sounds so fun, and the new Peloton group sounds amazing too! I forgot that your mom and I share a birthday...what a sweet thing for your hubby to do to make a yummy dinner to remember her on her birthday!

Have a wonderful day! Sun is out here and we're slowly warming up. I'm really hoping Spring gets here soon and stays!

Hi Ladies! Today’s workout was a 60 minute Peloton ride followed by 20 minutes of yoga. Such a great combination.

Thelma, great workouts! Great job using the barbell for that Squat Rack leg workout. I use it for front squats and deadlifts but not squats and lunges. But what an innovative way of getting it on to your back! I might have to try that. I am glad to hear your uncle is holding steady. Hopefully his strength comes back with the help of physical therapy. I was shocked to read about Georgia opening back up to be honest. I particularly don’t like the fact that he said local leaders could not overrule the decision. I really hope we don’t get a similar order here. The one reason our county is doing so well is because it didn’t wait for the state to shut things down. But the county just south of us has rapidly increasing cases, which, in the end, may impact our hospitals since they have insufficient medical facilities. If we were to open the whole state up at once while cases are increasing in the rural areas (like in the county south of us), I can see where our already insufficient hospital system would be overwhelmed. Right now, we can support cases from the rural counties in our hospitals because our cases here have stabilized, but if our cases start climbing again, we won’t be able to. And that is not good. It is just a sad situation all around because I have a tremendous amount of sympathy for small business owners and unemployed workers right now, and I understand their frustration and their desire to get back to work. But opening up too early in some parts could do much more damage than good, which is why I would prefer local leaders to have a say about their communities. For my part, I am in no way ready to go to a restaurant or bowling alley or, well, anywhere with people yet :) , so, like you, I will be staying home.

Laurie, sounds like another great workout! Jessica really is a great instructor. Not once have I ever found her even slightly annoying, and that is amazing to me. I too get her emails but have never tried any of her rotations because I have so few of her DVDs. Maybe I should look into downloading some of her workouts!

Erika, great workouts! I know every time I start an STS rotation, I hurt everywhere for the first week. :o But I still keep coming back for more. :D I am surprised your golf courses opened, but more because it is still April than due to the coronavirus. Seems early, but, then again, they were open in Wisconsin when we were there last year the first week in May. So maybe it isn’t too early! I bet they are crowded, though. I don’t think DH and I are going to even try to golf until mid-summer when the heat and humidity drive most people away. We have no problems playing in hot weather so chances are we might get some pretty quiet, socially-distanced, rounds in then. I hope so because I do miss it.

Tami, Happy Birthday!!! Hope you have a great day!

Off to take a walk with DH and figure out if we want to celebrate our 30th anniversary today with a drive to nowhere or putting a puzzle together. :D Doesn’t matter really as long as we are together. :)

    See you tomorrow.

Hi Ladies, my workouts today were Yoga Basics and STS Meso 3, Disc 30 Shoulders, Biceps & Triceps. After yesterday's leg workouts I was expecting to not be able to walk today but the Ashtanga class at the end of the day helped me a lot. I actually woke up feeling really good and strong which was amazing for me. I had another great STS workout and pushed myself really hard. I pushed myself with the weights which felt great.

My uncle continues to improve. The doctors think that he welcomes them with a "good morning" when they go visit him. The physical therapist thinks so too. I believe she talks to him during his daily therapy session. His breathing continues to improve and the doctors hope to try removing the oxygen machine to see if he can breathe on his own in the next couple of days. This will require a nurse assigned to him so she can monitor how my uncle does or if she needs to put the oxygen mask back on his face. If this goes well the next step will be to remove the tube! The doctor told my aunt today that my uncle is out of danger now! Thank you, Lord! BTW, I forgot to tell you before that he no longer has the virus. There may also be another video call in the next few days. My aunt finally slept well last night for the first time in almost 5 weeks! Poor thing!

Laurie, I'm so glad you like that JS workout so much! It sounds really good! Thanks for sharing Jessica's rotation. I like how she includes the links to the video.
The instructors who are offering free online classes are being very kind and generous.
I hope your governor decides soon what to do with your state. There isn't a single county in GA without infected patients.

Erika, you probably forgot to hit the Post Reply button like I do all the time! Great workouts! I'm so excited you're doing STS workouts! How is your son doing?
My uncle is really improving a little every day. It really must be surreal to see the hospital and not be able to go in. A lot of people are shocked in GA about the governor's decision to open some businesses. Apparently, we are having fewer new cases and deaths. We're going to continue to shelter in place. I have the feeling that after next week we'll have a lot more new cases.
I had to give my legs a couple of hours after the Barre class before doing the STS workout. I did use the Fit Tower as the squat rack.

Laurel, great workout today! I still can't believe I did the entire squat rack workout with the barbell. I don't know why I didn't think of using the step with risers to help me put the barbell on my back. It is exactly what is done at a gym at a squat station. I think it's a normal thing for local leaders to not be able to overrule the governor's orders. I hope your county waits a little longer before deciding to open some businesses. The problem is that people are getting restless and need to get back to work. I feel their pain so if they can be careful, I think they should be allowed to go to work. The woman who owns the yoga studio I go to has decided to wait till mid-May before thinking about opening.
All their students are still supporting them by taking online classes so they can afford to wait.
We are considered a rural area. Our hospital can not handle more than 47 ICU patients and we only have 5 ventilators. The numbers will start climbing again once people go back to work.

    Hi Tami!

    Goodnight ladies!

    Morning Ladies,

This morning was Jessica's Walk Strong Barefoot Fusion Sculpt. In this one she states that this workout sneaks up on you, and that is a correct statement. :D

Erika, Great job on your workouts! DOMS and STS nice. :D I'm sure anyone not realizing that those DOMS are important, probably thought I was being mean. :D Jessica's youtube channel is awesome, and she has many rotations available with just those workouts. One of the things I like about her rotations, is that she gives you both the DVD and youtube options. I have a rotation of Kelly's that uses her DVD's and RAW, so I'm going to alternate the two, just to mix it up. This rotation of Jessica's has a lot of balance and stretch, something I don't usually give myself time to do. We had the sun yesterday, but it was cold. I made DH go outside and grill the brats last night. :D

Laurel, Love your Peloton Yoga combination days! I agree with you on Jessica not being annoying, and she does different moves than Cathe or Kelly. I'm not a dancer, but I like that she puts in ballet moves. It reminds me of watching my youngest when she was in dance. I would highly recommend the Walk On Get Strong workouts. There are two workouts with that one, the Stepping Strength I did yesterday (which I have some DOMS going today), and the Strictly Strength. I think the key with her workouts is using the right amount of weight.

Thelma, Awesome job on your workout, and nice that you felt so strong. Great news on your Uncle, and happy to hear that he is virus free. I think that anytime people start going back to work you are going to have people infected, because this virus isn't going to go away. People can walk around with absolutely no signs and have the virus. George Stephanopoulos is a prime example. So far here at work we have been fine, and of course following the hand washing and not touching your face. Of course the distance thing is a good thing to follow also.

    Have a great day!

    Good Morning!!

Yesterday was KCM Cardio Quick Fix, workout 2. So...I didn't purchase that DVD until just last week, as I thought the previews made it look like it was "too easy" for me. Um, I was barely able to make it through the workout yesterday! Not sure if it's the workout itself, or DOMS and trying to raise my arms above my head, but it kicked my booty! Today will be STS workout #2...not sure how I'm going to do it yet, I can barely move still! I'm taking the afternoon off since it will be our first time hitting 70 this spring, and I'm planning to fully enjoy it outside!

Thelma, so, so exciting to hear of your uncles continued progress! He will make HUGE strides once that tube is out. That seems to change the mood tremendously. I can imagine that has to just feel so nice to have that removed, so I get it! Great job on the STS and Yoga combo...I'm thinking I need to throw in a stretch session each day after STS or I'm going to be hurting a lot! I like that you used your Fit Tower for the squat rack. I don't have a squat rack, so didn't purchase those DVD's, but it's good to know there's an option that works without the rack. My son is better...it was just a day or two of a low grade fever. I'm thinking it's allergies. Both my son and hubby have bad seasonal allergies and they both can't seem to get enough sleep right now.

Laurel, I'm with you on waiting out the golf courses until there are less people. We usually open ours in April, once the weather shows temps consistently 50 or higher. With today being 70 here, I can only imagine how packed it will be. Sounds like a nice weekend in the 60's too, so it will be busy then as well. You and Thelma are getting me interested in Yoga again with your awesome combos of kick butt workouts combined with yoga. I might have to consider adding some of my Cathe yoga workouts in! Happy Anniversary, I hope you had a fun evening!

Laurie, love your comment about the DOMS! I'm with you, I love it when I have them. I have friends that hate it, but to me it means I pushed myself! I love that Jessica "warns" you about the workout sneaking up on you! Thanks for the info on the rotations. Maybe I'll incorporate some Jessica cardio on my non STS days. I will be welcoming some good cardio on those days! I got a good laugh out of having your hubby grill in the cool weather...I'm the same way! I'm sure you'll be getting this warmer weather tomorrow, since we are getting it today!

    Hi Tami!

    Have a great day!

Hi Ladies! Today’s workout was STS Disc 30/Shoulders, Biceps and Triceps followed by Cathe Live Kickboxing and Core. Felt good today.

Thelma, great workouts! So glad to hear you are feeling better and stronger. I am sure that less stress with your uncle getting better is probably helping with your energy levels. I am so glad to hear of his continued improvement. I so hope they can get him off the oxygen soon and remove the tube. Like Erika said, that will probably drastically improve his health. I am so glad your aunt is finally able to get some sleep. I just imagine her these last five weeks staring at that hospital and waiting for the phone to ring. Breaks my heart. :'( What strong, amazing people they must be.

Laurie, great workout! I love the sound of that one. I will look into the Get Strong workouts. I am wanting to add a day during the week to do a different, maybe slightly less intense, cardio workout which may or may not be metabolic, and I am thinking Jessica may be my answer for those workouts. The intensity of her weighted workouts really does depend on the weight chosen which I love. You’ve given me some good ideas with your Jessica week. Thank you! Right now I am doing three spin rides a week and three Cathe cardio workouts a week, and I think the latter needs to go down to two. I love Cathe cardio but they do catch up with me on this aging body.....even her lighter ones. So I think just different moves like Jessica offer would help prevent repetitive injuries.

Erika, great workout! I can’t tell you how many times I have avoided a workout thinking it would be too easy only to have it put me on my backside! :D I have learned not to underestimate good instructors. Adding yoga twice a week and staying with it as I have since last fall has done me wonders. I think it helped to find an instructor I really clicked with (as I have on the Peloton app), and have new sessions available to me of varying lengths and intensities (as I have with the Peloton app). I think a huge part of my problem with yoga was having to hear the same comments, the same music and do the same moves over and over again. I never would have thought that because, clearly, I do that all the time with other workout DVDs. But for yoga, the variety has made all the difference in the world. And my body loves it. And my mind actually loves it even more. :) And, no, this is not a plug for the Peloton app.....unless you want it to be. :p Hope you enjoy the warm day!

    See you tomorrow.

Hi Ladies ~ Today I have a little more time to check in with you all. The last couple of days I was filling in for someone at work. It was busy doing both again but felt good. The days and evenings feel so long so my days went by a little faster. :)

I had my Birthday yesterday which was work and then DH made me a fabulous Birthday meal. Started with cheese/crackers for an appetizer and a glass of wine. I only mention that because he called it "appetizers" :D Then he made Scallops/Tiger Prawns in a lemon/butter/white wine/fresh ginger sauce with parsley, leeks all over fettucine noodles. We also had baked asparagus with garlic and parmesan cheese/balsamic vinegar on them and green salad. THEN, he made for the first time in his life a Strawberry Rhubard Pie for dessert. It was absolutely adorable and so good. Very nice of him. He had a dozen roses on the table along with a very nice card that he wrote in as well. I mention he wrote in it because sometimes he just signs his name. LOL His "big" gift that he wanted to give me but I said "no" for now anyway, is a new puppy. He feels Bernie really needs a friend despite these last few years of no Emma. I just don't know right now and with that hesitation, is why I said no for now. Maybe we can at least start looking into finding a breeder, etc. for a Golden Doodle. I love the Golden Retrievers SOOO much, but not the hair (shedding) so that will probably be my next dog. Very sweet of him and thoughtful that he wants to do this for me and for us.

    Workouts have been:
Saturday: ICE Metabolic Total Body + Peloton Ride
Sunday: STS Squat Rack Legs (this was a mental struggle for me, felt like the workout took forever but I reminded myself I had all day to do whatever else I was doing in the day. Looking forward to Plyo Legs next though. LOL later I did another Peloton Power Walk
    Monday: STS Meso 3 Chest/Back
Tuesday: Birthday Day – No workout
Today: Peloton Ride after work and STS Shoulders/Bis/Tris tomorrow a.m. I WILL get up in the a.m. DH had another terrible night sleep which meant I also did. At one point I was on the couch and that was not good, so went back to bed, etc….. long night. Hopefully tonight is better. I will take some sleep aid meds.

Laurel: I was thinking of you of course and Happy Anniversary!! I hope you had a wonderful celebration! 30 Years ..... that is amazing and wonderful! Way to go with your workouts and for continuing on your love for Yoga path. I hope to someday give myself that time and patience it takes. Thank you for sharing that memory of your dad and his Birthday, along with the feels of it all. Just always nice to share in that with people and know you are in it together with loss and celebrations as well of their lives. Sounds like your weekend was very nice as well. Hopefully you will get to hit the golf course soon. They do have a couple courses in our area open.

Thelma: Thank you as always for the kind words and well wishes. Truly appreciate it.
I am so happy for you having such a great love for your new found strength and wonderful workouts, including the Yoga/Barre. By the way, Squat Rack Legs AFTER a Barre workout. WHOASA! I still do all my workouts with barbells and to go heavy enough my forearms were shaky by the end. Used my weighted vest as well. It was nice to re-visit that one, even if it was a little mental struggle for me with all the breaks.

Laurie: Awesome job with your workouts! Sounds like you are enjoying the Walk Strong with JS again. When you ladies talk about that series I always feel like I should just go for it and get it, every single time. So fun when you are reminded of how good an instructor is and it kind of lights a fire under us again!

Erika: Happy Belated Birthday! I had forgot that too about you sharing your Birthday with my mom. A very special day I would say. Congrats on your workouts and doing so well. Sounds like you are enjoying them a lot, just like everyone here in our group. So awesome. Despite feeling the DOMS it sounds like. Are you going to be continuing on with a STS rotation then? Your weather sounds beautiful. We had a few nice sunshine days and now today is going to be rain later in the day. I will always take sunshine when I can get it forsure, especially this time of year.

I am sure I will be able to check in the rest of the week ~ not looking overly busy for me! But as I type that, things could change. Talk to you ladies tomorrow. ~ Tami

Hi Ladies, today's workouts were Beginner Gentle and Jessica Smith Low Impact Hiit.

My uncle is stable and today my aunt got the surprise of a video call. My uncle was definitely awake and he recognized her and cried when he saw her. He tried to say something to but it was pretty incomprehensible due to the tube in his throat.

I found out the Toccoa River will open for tubbing this Saturday! This means tourists! I hope this isn't true. I just saw a deaths per day projection from the IHME for GA. Our deaths aren't going to peak till 4/26. They also project that we shouldn't relax the social distancing guidelines until June. Even the president said he disagrees with Gov. Kemp.

Laurie, great job with that Fusion sculpt workout!

People are definitely going to get infected once they return to work.

Erika, great job with your KCM workout. I hope you were able to do the STS workout and to enjoy your afternoon off! Stretching after strength training is very important. Try doing it on your own or use the stretch segment Cathe includes in those STS workouts.
If you have Cathe's yoga workouts definitely try them. Jessica Smith has free yoga workouts too.

I also think my uncle will make huge strides once the tube is out. Hopefully, it will happen next week.
I'm so glad your son is doing better! Allergies are pretty bad now. I hope your son and your husband are able to sleep well soon.

Laurel, great workout combo. That disc 30 is really good. I was dreading these STS workouts this week because they're 60+ minutes long but once I started doing them I liked them and the time didn't matter.
I hadn't thought about my new found strength and energy could be due to the fact that my stress level has gone down. It totally makes sense!
I think my uncle will improve drastically once that tube comes out. I imagine my aunt standing by her window looking in the direction of the hospital and crying. So heartbreaking. She is doing better and the video calls are helping a lot.

Tami, happy belated birthday! How sweet of your DH to make your day a very special one! He rocks! Even though you're not ready to adopt a new dog yet, you at least can start thinking about it.
    Great workouts!!

I think having all the time in the world to do the STS workouts is making a huge difference for me. I dreaded them before because they are so long. I don't mind the breaks between exercises anymore either.
I still can't believe I did that STS leg workout after a Barre workout but I took a couple of hours between workouts and it worked. I try to do the barbell workouts with the barbells but leg workouts weren't possible for me because I can't lift the heavy barbell over my head. The squat rack is solving that problem now.

    Goodnight ladies!

    Morning Ladies,

This morning's workout was Jessica's Youtube Relax & Restore. Such a nice stretch, and Peanut was very active in this workout. I looked over at Rocket sleeping next to my mat, and was very thankful. :D

So I made a quilt for my oldest dd's dog Zoey. This was nothing fancy, and I had made the top of the quilt when my dd's where little. I finished it up a few weeks ago when I found it during one of my organizing days. Apparently their Golden Zeke is coveting the quilt. I now have material to make Zeke a quilt. I'm going to go into business making quilts for dogs. :D

Erika, That workout is a tough one, so don't feel bad. I have a hard time with that one too. ;) I end up taking those jacks to low impact ones. Ouch on the soreness though, that is tough. I can't wait for some warmer weather, the garden does need some tlc. I have not wanted to work in it yet, but 70 degrees would be a welcome temperature to garden in. Jessica's Kickboxing Abs workout on youtube is really good, so for sure do that one. I'm hoping that it warms up a little more today, I have some steaks that really want to have some grill marks on them. :D

Laurel, Great job on those workouts! I have to admit that my outer hips are talking to me this morning. Not hurting of course, but just letting me know that they are there. I'm guessing that is from all the ballet moves that she did in the Barefoot Fusion Sculpt workout yesterday. I also like the fact that I don't need to have my shoes on for a workout, and Jessica has a lot of those type of workouts. I guess I didn't realize that you have been doing three rides each week. For sure Cathe cardio can get to the body. I put her cardio on par with Michelle Dozois, my body can only take about one or two days of their cardio. Unless it is Cardio Party! :D

Tami, My mouth is watering!!! I need to come to your house for your birthday next year, and I love the appetizer. :D I love anything rhubarb, but mine is still really small. :/ Probably a good idea to take your time finding a puppy, and I like your idea of a Golden Doodle. Happy Birthday by the way. So glad that you where able to pop on, and great job on all your workouts! I hope that you had a better night of sleeping. Yep I'm very glad that I decided to pull out some Jessica workouts, it made me realize just how good her workouts are. I think that I will enjoy moving from her to Kelly for the next few weeks.

Thelma, Great job on your workouts! Guess you where inspired by Jessica also. Nice that your Aunt was surprised with a video call. I sure hope that your Uncle will be able to get the tube out soon. Sounds like we have opposite sides of the government. Yours probably opening to soon, and our state wanting to have our state shut down forever. ;)

    Have a great day!

Hi Ladies! Today’s workout was STS Disc 37/Squat Rack Legs followed by a fun Cathe Live workout called Muscle Confusion. This was a really good metabolic workout, which was perfect for today.

Tami, what a wonderful birthday celebration! The food sounds fantastic, and how sweet of your DH to offer a new puppy. Since you are hesitant, it is probably good to take some time. I am sure down the road you will find the perfect little puppy for your family, and then all those hesitations will be gone. Great job with the workouts. I totally understand the mental struggle with the Squat Rack Legs. Last time I did it (three weeks ago), I was fine. Today.....it seemed to go on forever. But I stick with them because they really do good things for my legs. Hope you get some more sleep tonight.

Thelma, great workout! I am so glad your aunt and uncle were able to video chat again. It sounds like he was much more responsive this time which has to make your aunt so relieved. I hope each day brings even better and better news for them now. I really hope you don’t start getting too many tourists up your way. I know my plan is to keep doing what we are doing as long as we can. Our cases in the state are still climbing, so our governor continues to be hesitant to open everything. But I do think more things will start to open May 1. I definitely think some businesses can safely open. I am less sure about things like restaurants, but that is probably because I just cannot imagine feeling comfortable in one yet. But I still haven’t worked up the nerve for take-out, so that is hardly surprising!

Laurie, another one of my favorite Jessica workouts. If I recall, Peanut has me laughing in that one because Jessica is trying to be so calming and Peanut won’t leave her alone. Great job with the quilts! I think being a professional quilter for dogs sounds perfect! Yes, I went to three spin classes a week when I hurt my arm because I didn’t like all the waving my arms about in standard cardio and couldn’t do kickboxing.....so it was spin. And I like the less impact on my body for sure. But even with that, if I am going to keep doing some version of cardio six days a week, I think I need to tweak the intensity a bit, not just for impact but because I don’t need to push it hard every day. I am wearing myself out! :p

    Erika, hope you are well.

    See you tomorrow.

    Hi Ladies!!

I had a wonderful afternoon off yesterday and even though it only got to 65, managed to sunburn my legs (I had on capri pants) in the short time I was sitting out in the direct sun. I noticed it when shaving my legs this morning and questioning if something was wrong with my razor as it hurt to shave! :D Today is cloudy and a bit cooler and then we have even cooler and rain all day tomorrow. I'm off tomorrow as the boys don't have school and I can't put off the vet appt for the dogs any longer, so that will be most of my morning with the curbside dropoff, etc.

I got my STS workout in yesterday, and my upper body loosened up as I went along, which helped a lot. I am really enjoying getting back into STS again!

Thelma, what a great day brightener for your aunt to video chat with your uncle...this time when he's more awake! If you haven't already been told, when the tube is removed, your uncle may have little to no voice for several days. I wasn't prepared for that when it happened with my dad and was kind of sad that he couldn't "talk" to me for awhile. Once again, great job on the workouts...another fun combo! I'm still in shock that your governor is moving forward with the opening up of the state...I'm on the edge of my seat watching to see how it all goes.

Tami, sounds like a busy couple days, but it does make time fly! Your birthday dinner sounds absolutely amazing, what a great hubby! I love that he wanted to get you a puppy, so sweet! I have a lot of friends that have moved on from goldens to golden doodles due to the shedding. We have always had to have hypoallergenic dogs here due to allergies, but I've never owned a "big" dog. 20 pounds is our largest! I have multiple friends with golden doodles and they seem to really enjoy the personality and playfulness/activeness of the mix. Great job on your workouts...you've been busy gearing up for summer by the sounds of it!

Laurel, I'm with you on the yoga instructors/moves. I think it's because it's such a calm form of exercise that I notice things like the voice of the instructor, music, repetitiveness, etc whereas I don't notice that as much with other forms...maybe because I'm so focused on catching my breath! :D I love that you are found so much value in the Peloton app...those are my favorite finds!!

Laurie, nice work on the doggy quilts! One of my dogs really is into blankets, I can totally picture her being the type to covet a quilt! The warmer weather was nice yesterday, but we're headed back to chilly weather again until Saturday afternoon. I'd like it to stay 70-75 for awhile and not this up and down, but I suppose that's too much to ask of Mother Nature! Great job with the Jessica workout. I think I've done that one before many years ago, and remember Peanut in that one!

    Have a wonderful evening!!

Hi Ladies ~ I did end up with a nice Peloton ride last night. Did a 45-min 80’s Ride. I felt like something fun was just what I needed. This a.m. I did STS Shoulders/Bis/Tris and will probably get in another ride tonight. The music and energy of the instructors just makes me feel good! :)

Thelma: Way to go with your workouts again today. Sounds like a perfect combo. That just makes me teary reading about your sweet uncle. I am glad he is doing better day by day and they were able to video call. Thanks for the kudos on my workouts.

Laurie: Sounds like a very nice stretching workout you did this a.m. I LOVE that you have made some dog quilts. How cute. If you go into business I will order one to support you. That is so fun. Wasn’t that a great menu he planned. He truly worked hard at researching what food I might like and had 4 picked out to try. Last night he told me he will find a better recipe for pie next time. LOL The fact that sentence even came out of his mouth made me laugh. Mr. Martha Stewart he is becoming during this time of having more time on his hands. I keep forgetting to ask you. Is your daughter working at their office each day like us or from home?

Laurel: What a great combo it sounds like this a.m. I know we have talked over the years on the Squat Rack being taxing on the brain and patience …. But you’re right, it feels great for what it does to those leg muscles. Which is what I kept telling myself. I forgot to mention, it had been so long since I put my weighted vest on that I first put it on upside down ….. OMG I thought why can I not get this strap buckled. It was pretty funny once I realized what was happening. Thank you for the great advice and words on the puppy. I think just exploring a little will be my first step and then see where it leads me. Thank you on the well wishes for my sleep ….. it was better thank goodness.

Erika: First let me say I am so happy to hear your son is doing better! I forgot to comment on that yesterday. Has to be a huge relief for all of you. That’s amazing you had such beautiful weather yesterday and even a sunburn. I did a vet appt. one day with Bernie, it was a couple Friday's ago when I was working at home. It was actually a good experience. There doors are locked, all wearing masks and I had to wear a mask and call when we got there. My vet told me he felt under dressed in his “doctor like” mask while I had a ladybug fabric one. It was pretty funny. :D But Bernie had a rash on his stomach plus his nails HAD to be trimmed. So I couldn’t put it off any longer. Ended up being a great experience though. I hope yours goes well. I am happy to hear you are enjoying STS again. Probably having a little more time helps. They are longer workouts forsure. Thank you for the encouragement on the puppy and great feedback about Golden Doodles. I have heard wonderful things and one of the ladies here at work has one. She is absolutely a doll and full of energy too. Emma was such a calm and gentle dog, which is often a characteristic of the Golden Retriever which I love so much.

Have a great evening ladies ~ talk to you tomorrow! Tami

Hi Ladies, my workouts today were Sculpted-Movement Fusion, Yoga Arm Blast, and STS Disc #29 Plyo Legs/Stretch. The yoga arm blast was a killer workout. It almost focused on triceps doing yoga pushups using the blocks. We started with a couple of vinyasas to warm up. She then had us on our hands and knees and the blocks were on their second-highest position (on their side) in front of our hands. We then put the palms of our hands on the blocks, went on on a knee plank, and started doing little yoga push-ups, then little pulses. OUCH. We then graduated to the same move but on a full plank. We used the blocks for some shoulder work and the last move was a full plank with our feet on the blocks, then yoga push-ups. My triceps were throbbing hours after the workout. I think I'm going to feel this workout tomorrow.
This video shows the pushups at about 1:03m
    https://tinyurl.com/y74y788q

I loved the STS Plyo Legs workout. I only used 2 risers and still got a great workout. My body feels tired from the workouts but it's a good tired.

My uncle spent 24 hours breathing on this own! The doctors put him back on oxygen after that because he was tired. THAT is huge! He also got a blood transfusion yesterday because he was anemic. No wonder he is so weak! We are hoping the tube will be removed soon. The doctors need to have a day without emergencies because they need to dedicate a nurse and a doctor to my uncle when the tube comes out to monitor his breathing/oxygen levels. Thank you so much for your prayers, ladies!!

We had a lot of heavy, steady rain last night and more tonight.

Laurie, that JS yoga workout sounds really yummy! I need to try it! I would've been laughing at Peanut. She is too cute. Funny about Rocket sleeping through the workout! LOL
OMG, I can't believe you had found the quilt you started when your dd was little and finished it for her doggy! So sweet! They have two dogs now! That is awesome! I'm glad you're going to make Zeke a quilt too. You really should make dog (cats too!) quilts and sell them on Etsy!

I really like Jessica's workouts. I'm always recommending her to everyone who asks me about workouts. We are hoping my uncle's tube will be removed soon. I hope our governor isn't making a mistake for opening too soon. Hopefully, your governor will feel comfortable opening up the economy soon!

    Laurel, great workout!!

Today did bring great news about my uncle! He is definitely more responsive. It obviously takes a while for the body to get rid of sedatives! I am really worried about tourists. There is no stopping them, unfortunately. We are up to 20 cases. The county south of us is at 28 cases now. We haven't worked up the nerve to order take-out either. We are going to continue to shelter in place. Thank God DH is okay with that.

Erika, I'm glad you enjoyed your afternoon off! Too funny about sunburning your legs! Good luck taking the dogs to the vet!
Great job with the STS workout! I'm glad you're enjoying it!

It really was a great day brightener for my aunt to video chat with my uncle and today to find out that he'd spent 24 hours breathing on his own. I did know about intubated patients not being able to talk after the tube is removed and I told my aunt about it. Thanks for mentioning it. I am terrified about the governor's decision but I'm hearing that the sanitation rules these businesses would have to follow make it very difficult for some small businesses to open.

Tami, great workouts!! It really is wonderful that my uncle is improving a little each day.

    Goodnight ladies!

    Morning Ladies,

This morning was another great workout combo from Jessica. I did Total Body Balance Cardio Flow + Core Stretch. Again the cardio was all low impact, but totally fun. This one is a barefoot workout, and the core stretch was mostly core work. Very good core work, and moves that where way different than the usual. ;)

Laurel, Again great job on your workouts! Well Jessica will fit the bill on taking your cardio down a notch, we don't need you to get hurt. ;) I would imagine that the bike workouts are making a difference in your legs also, I know a lot of bikers that have such great looking legs. ;) I subscribe to e-mails from our local quilt store, and they are having the 12 days of quarantine. The first day I purchased some fat quarters, but the second day they had 3 yard quilt kits. I requested that they give me something for a boy, since Zeke is a boy dog. DH picked up my orders, and when I got home I looked at the material right away. The material for Zeke's quilt had dogs on them, and I just started to laugh. So I will be making this a prime thing for my business when I retire. :D

Erika, Your shaving experience sounds painful, since I actually know how that feels. We have not had any of those nice days that you have been experiencing. :/ Sunday is suppose to be fairly nice, so I'm hoping to be able to go outside and soak up some vitamin D. Great job on your workout, and nice that your body responded to the exercises. Enjoy your day off today. ;) I'm making Rocket a quilt also, his is just going to take a little longer because I'm trying out some free motion quilting and different techniques on his. They are great things to experiment on, because they are not large. Once we can start getting back to being in groups, I will be taking some quilting classes to improve my free motion skills. Youtube is great, but sometimes you need someone over your shoulder helping.

Tami, Awesome job on your workouts! Do you have another ride scheduled with your nephew? Well thank you for your support on my venture. I have to really look into this Etsy, but I have really not had the time. Now that I think of it, I should have my youngest investigate it since she is not working right now. :D My oldest just called me this morning, and asked if I could make her co-worker a couple of masks. I took a very long hiatus from sewing, and I'm so enjoying doing it again. Of course the quilt designs and material colors are so much better than they where in the 80's when I first started. If your DH ever needs a recipe for rhubarb pie, I have a good one. Now it doesn't have strawberries in it, but is custard. My mother makes a rhubarb/strawberry crisp that is to die for. I feel that the rhubarb/strawberry combo works better with a crisp, because the strawberries have so much water in them that it makes a pie soupy.

Thelma, Nice job on the workouts! Very interesting to use those blocks in those ways, and I can only imagine how your triceps must feel after all of that. I think two risers are just fine, and I probably would do the same thing. I'm always afraid that I will trip if they are to high. Absolutely Awesome news on your Uncle!!! At some point we will be doing the happy dance when he is going home to your Aunt. It was a really surprise to me when I opened the bin that the quilt top was in. Of course I had to finish it, but would never have given it to any child. (It wasn't made with all that great of material) At that time I was sewing baby doll and Barbie clothes, so you don't really need anything fancy for material for them. Believe it or not, but there are people making cat couches. I'm actually surprised how much pets like blankets. I wish I had made a quilt for Rockets sooner, because he would have enjoyed that more than the one we have for his overnight visits to daycare.

    Have a great weekend!

Hi Ladies! Today’s workout was Pyramid Upper Body from Cathe’s Intensity series, which was a little off script, but it felt wonderful. I followed it with a 45 minute HiiT and Hills ride from Peloton and another nice walk with DH. I love these daily walks. :)

Tami, great workouts. I am with you on enjoying the positive energy of the Peloton instructors right now. And the music. :D With DH working in the house, I can’t quite crank it like I like.....but I still enjoy. I am so glad Cathe put her name on that weighted vest because I cannot tell you how many times I have put it on upside down. :o I have finally gotten used to checking her name first! Glad you finally got some sleep. It makes all the difference in the world some days.

Erika, great workout. I am glad you are enjoying being back to STS. I am also glad you got to spend some time outside. Feels so good after a long winter. You are probably right about why repeating yoga workouts bothers me. After I learn a cardio or strength DVD workout, I really don’t hear the words anymore. But in yoga.....it is hard not to. I remember I used to do a ten minute yoga workout every morning, and the instructor said at one point ‘relax your brain’ and it always annoyed me. Because, boy, if only I knew how to relax my brain!!! :p

Thelma, yowza! That yoga/tricep workout sounds tough. I seriously struggle with triceps pushups so I probably would have been crying half way through. Great news about your uncle! I am so glad that most days are good news now after so many weeks of not good news. I hope your governor is making the right decision too, but I think it is smart to let several weeks pass before venturing out much. I know our county is set to open soon, but, so far, that only means the county offices. I am not sure what is going to happen with things like restaurants yet.

Laurie, sounds like another great workout from Jessica. I love her barefoot workouts. I am not sure all the spinning is having any impact on the appearance of my legs, but my legs from top to bottom would classify as a ‘trouble zone’. :#:D But I do think it is helping make them stronger, which is good. I love that you made a dog quilt from dog fabric! Too cute! Honestly, I think a lot of people would absolutely love something like that for their pup.

    Enjoy the weekend!

Hi Ladies ~ STS Plyo Legs this a.m. and loved it! Re-visiting some STS has been great this week. Always love the tough variety the workouts can offer. I may do a quick ride when I get home since I didn’t last night. DH is making Halibut tonight.

Thelma: Way to go with that combo you did today! Those push-ups sound like they were killer! I bet you will be feeling them tomorrow as well. Nice when you feel “good tired” from a workout. So great hearing about your uncle breathing on his own for a little bit.

Laurie: Another great workout with Jessica. Have these all been from that same Walk Strong 3 Series that you have been doing this week? Definitely have your daughter investigate ETSY, that would be a perfect spot to sell them when you decide or if you decide to go that route. Funny you ask about my nephew, we are going to do a ride this weekend in honor of my Birthday so I get to pick. His Birthday is next month so he can pick his ride for his day! Very fun that you are enjoying sewing again. I remember my mom loving it until she didn’t have time then it was a necessity and she didn’t enjoy it as much. As true with most things, when we have time and can enjoy it then it feels like a brand new fun craft. DH has found that tying flies in his spare time for fishing is fun again and he has been super proud of them. Speaking of …… YES, I would love to pass that recipe on to my new cook or me! I would love to have it.

Laurel: Love the lineup of workouts you had today! Luckily for me I can plug the headphones right into my bike so I can turn it up when I am on there. Works great even if he is sitting right there. I am planning on Pyramid Upper tomorrow a.m. but the one from the LITE series. I love those upper and lower Pyramid workouts so much. It is great that your DH is taking daily walks with you. My DH had offered a couple weeks ago but our weather hasn’t quite cooperated and/or he has been doing something else OR it was my time away from the house and getting those good vibes from the Peloton peeps. :D

Have a great weekend ladies ~ I will check in with you all on Monday! Tami
