Hi Ladies, exhausting and long day at work today. Thank God for my new fitness tracker reminding me to move if I've been idle for 55 minutes. Otherwise; I would've sat all day long working. It took me 1 1/2 hours to get home today and by the time I got home I was brain dead. There was no way I could do a Cathe workout. My instinct was to spin but that meant sitting down some more. I just had to move my legs so I ended up walking on the treadmill.

Laurie, kickboxing workouts are a lot of fun. Good idea to try a little yoga. I can't wait till you try the High Reps workout so you can tell us about the experience. Great workout for sure. I have to buy STS TB. I clearly had more energy yesterday than I thought since I finished that RWT Low impact workout! LOL

Laurel, you're too funny calling RWH Upper Body circuit a warmup! LOL Great combo today! I've never done either of those RWH Plyo workouts. I will try workout I this week. Not sure I want to do the second one as there it too much jumping onto the step and I am afraid of that move. There was no way I could've done that LBB workout today Laurel, I like the Barre section so hopefully I'll be able to do it on Saturday. With those long workouts I always end up looking at the clock! LOL

Tami, I'm glad Katy's class was a tough one because I know you love that! It must've been incredibly tough if people left early! I am glad I pushed myself to do that RWH low impact workout yesterday at least I didn't feel so guilty today when all I could do was walk. I think that Skinny Taste book is her first book. I didn't buy it because I thought most of the recipes would be in her website.

    Good night ladies!

    Morning Ladies,

Did get the yoga workout in yesterday, this was a good yoga workout. Had a good amount of stretching in it also, and only around 55 min. Nothing like Yoga for the Warrior, which is still my favorite yoga workout to date. :D This morning was my short workout morning, so I did Ruthless #2 Lunatic Intervals.

Laurel, Good job waking up your body like that, and then following it up with the rotation workout. Having a tired body really doesn't favor tough HiiT workouts. The yoga workout wasn't horrible, so it is doable when it comes up in the rotation. I don't think that it would be a dread factor, like with Yoga X being 90 min. long. Nothing earth shattering though. I agree with you on TF form, and I love those workouts also.

Tami, Interesting that you had people fleeing the class! LOL Sounds like a tough one. Love that you all where able to get that double HiiT done, guess that when mine comes up in the rotation, I will need to experience it also. Well you will have to let us know how Jessica tortures all of you next week, I'm sure that she probably has heard that it was easy.

Thelma, Great job getting something in last night after such a tough day at work, and the drive home. I will let you know how much I enjoyed those two total body workouts. I'm sure that when I revisit them, after not doing them for a very long time, that I will end up enjoying them more than I remember.

    Have a great day!

Hi Ladies! I started today's workout with STS Total Body which is so good but so tough. For cardio, I did Party Rockin' Step One, which made for a good combo. I think tomorrow I am going to do a light workout (the rotation has RWH Plyo HiiT Two and abs, so that may be it for me) and give my body almost two full days of 'recovery' before starting Body Beast. I have been feeling a little body fatigue this week and don't want to take that into a new rotation with a new program. So if you don't hear from me tomorrow, you might be able to find me at the beach. :pB)

Tami, sounds like another tough, tough class! I don't blame people for getting a move on before the ab section. Sounds like Katy is firing on all cylinders right now.

Thelma, sorry about the long day. I hope the walk on the treadmill worked to clear your mind and get some blood flowing. Nothing worse for me than a full day of sitting. That always leaves me feeling so sluggish and tired.

Laurie, sounds like an okay yoga I suppose. I am glad it doesn't have a dread factor. I am also kind of happy that it isn't anything two earth shattering. My desire to try to become a human pretzel is diminishing with each passing year. :)

    Enjoy the day!

Hi Ladies, Total Body Trisets tonight. My lower back and hips are all stiff from sitting for so long yesterday. Not fun. Next week we have to go to an offsite meeting which means sitting all day long and I was told today I need to go take a 2 day course so I can get a scrum master (agile) certification. I'll probably have to do the course soon because next year I'll be really busy at work. So you know how I was told I no longer had to manage the group I've been managing all this time? Today I understood why it was such a quick decision to make. The project that team is doing is small and my boss can handle it. I will oversee the 4 brand new projects for the company. Our future! I'm not complaining about this because I know I can do it. I have to think again of how fortunate I am to be given all the projects everybody else wants. Eventually I'll be leading the same problem people again. At least I'm getting a break from them for a while.
We had lots of heavy rain last night and this morning. I heard on the radio that it was the tail of hurricane Patricia! Tonight we had very strong winds.

Laurie, great workouts. I'm glad you liked the yoga workout! I really think you will enjoy the total body workouts.

Laurel, killer combo today! Great job! I'm scared now of that STS TB workout! You rarely say a workout is tough! Good idea to rest before starting Body Beast. Enjoy the beach and have a great weekend!
Walking last night helped me clear my mind and got the blood flowing for sure.

    Hi Tami!

    Good night ladies!

    Morning Ladies,

Yesterday I did Jillian's Banish Fat Boost Metabolism, sure was a sweat fest on that one. It always surprises me how good that one is. This morning I tried another UFC Fit workout which was Striker Strength. This one is weight work focused on Chest, Shoulders, Triceps, Thighs and Abs. This workout would be a great compliment to Jillian's Body Revolution, since it works the same muscle groupings. Also would have been better to do this one on Monday when I had done LIHI weight workout. Oh well, I will know for the next time.

Laurel, Great job on finishing up this rotation, LOL about Plyo HiiT Two being a light workout. For you it is a light workout. ;) I think giving your body a couple of days rest before starting Body Beast is a great idea. I'm usually on the beginner/Intermediate level when getting into most yoga poses. My niece is doing advanced poses, and I give her kudos for being so flexible. Of course she is only 20 years old, so being a human pretzel is doable for her. :D

Thelma, WTG on the workouts, and I hope that you will be able to get the hips comfortable this weekend. Good to hear that your boss is managing the problem children for a while, I'm sure that will make your other projects that much better to deal with. We had that strong wind too, sure was fun driving home with it blowing right at the car. Almost felt like you were not going anywhere.

Tami, Hope you evening was a good one!

    Happy Halloween Weekend!

Hi Ladies! Quick check-in before heading out into the sunshine. I finished the rotation!! What a great 12 weeks. Thank you all for inspiring me every day. Today I felt a little better than I have all week, so I did a slightly longer workout than planned....but just slightly. I did the warm-up and cardio from the X37 premix off of the X10 DVD then into the cardio from RWH Plyo HiiT Two and abs 1. Made for a good 60 minute workout. And that's all for a couple of days!

Thelma, sounds like a new challenge at work but an exciting one. I don't envy you all the training/meetings you have coming up, though. No fun. If you can make it through Total Body Trisets, you can do STS Total Body!! Great workout!

Laurie, sounds like a couple of good workouts. I saw Jillian was going to be in a TV show on Spike Network that is about people designing/testing new workout equipment. I haven't watched the show, though. I haven't looked at her workouts in a long time but have always admired her fitness level.

Tami, hope you have a good weekend.

See you all Monday! Happy Halloween!!

Hi Ladies & Happy Friday ~ Yesterday I ended up taking a longer lunch than normal due to an invite from my DH who was meeting with some of our customers; so he told me not worry, it was ok to be a little late. At any rate, I came right back after that and just worked, worked, worked so I wasn't able to chat with you ladies. Yesterday I did STS Total Body (which I LOVE every single time); I had posted High Reps by accident I noticed later in the day. Then last night I made a Quinoa Chopped Salad with a Mexican flare to it; Cumin, Honey, Lime dressing for our Halloween Potluck. Everyone has loved it and wants the recipe. Always feels good when you spend the time and people like it. This a.m. I did Plyo HiiT #1 & #2 . . . no Spin tonight, we are going to dinner with some friends. Tomorrow I will do Lower Body Blast since I missed it earlier in the week and that will wrap up this rotation. Can't even believe it . . . Like Laurel said I "ditto" Thank you all for being here every day to encourage and share the rotation with!!!! It's been so fun - even doing it once before made it even better sharing the experience with my friends!

Laurel: Way to go on the workouts and congrats to you on finishing it up! You truly made it a rotation with many bonuses with all your add-ons! So amazing. I would say you deserve a couple days OFF. Moving into your new rotation, I cannot wait to hear when you start BB and how it is. When you mentioned Katy firing on all cylinders the other day; she is actually sick with a cold! So she can sometimes be a little tougher since she isn't participating entirely. LOL

Laurie: Great job with the workouts and getting in that Yoga yesterday; sounds like another good one. You've had some awesome variety this week and I am sure Jillian did not disappoint at all this a.m. Thanks for that on the "Dbl HiiT" workout the other day; I highly recommend you try it if you have the time . . . it flies by! Lots of good moves and keeps your HR up.

Thelma: Way to GO on the Total Body Tri-Sets!!! Yes, that is definitely another favorite total body workout of mine; just don't always get the time to do the full 90 min other than on a weekend. Way to get it done. You will have no problem with STS Total Body. Sounds like things are falling into place nicely with your job; probably some not so fun pieces but also very great experience and again, a compliment to what a great job you do!

Hope you ladies have a great weekend and Happy Halloween!

Hi Ladies, I hope you all had a nice weekend. On Friday I did RWH Plyo I with bonus abs. This was not a good workout for me as my left shoulder is acting up. I guess all

those burpees did me in. I massaged, stretched and applied heat. Shoulder is better thankfully! On Saturday I did Lower Body Blast and today Spinning. I'm so happy to have finished this rotation! I will be starting a customized version of the STS/LIS/XTRAIN/TTM/CROSSFIRE. My version includes some RWH too!

Laurie, you did a great workout routine last week! Great job!
My hips are back to normal and now I'm nursing my shoulder. My first workout tomorrow included shoulders but I swapped the workout for a back and triceps to allow the shoulder to recover.

Laurel, Congrats on finishing the rotation. It was a really good one. Great combo on Friday! Did you have a fun at the beach?
I am not looking forward to that offsite meeting tomorrow. I'm going to sit in the back of the room so I can get out to stretch out from time-to-time.

Tami, awesome workouts! That Quinoa salad sound wonderful! I'm so glad you also think I'll be OK doing TST Total Body Too!

    Good night ladies!

    Morning Ladies,

This is going to be super short. If you don't hear from me this week, don't worry. I am in one of these Lean events again, so my time will be taken up with that. I did Killer Buns & Thighs on Saturday, and this morning was 30MTF Cardio Pump workout 1, which is boxing cardio. I really enjoyed it, but she does move faster than her previous boxing workout.

    Have a great day!

Hi Ladies! Hope you all a nice weekend. Ours was warm, but nice. I took the rest of Friday and Saturday off as promised, and it felt so good. I even got some good reading in! I have been stumbling through a 700 page book since July (!) and I now finally have the end in sight. It is crazy for it to take me this long to get through a book.......and it is a good one! Oh well.

So yesterday I started Body Beast with Build Chest/Tri's. I must say that the instructor, Sagi, is one of those guys that reminds me of somebody who would have me rolling my eyes at the gym. He comes across as one of those guys that would strut around with his chest all out, throwing his weights when done, picking on other guys for how little they are lifting, etc. I suppose I feel this way because that is how he acted in the workout!! But, that being said, he is actually pretty good at this workout instruction stuff. He gave great form pointers and while encouraging heavy weights, continued to emphasize form over everything. So I appreciate that. As for the workout itself, it flew by. There is little time wasted in it (I thought the breaks would feel longer than they do when I previewed it), and it is what I would describe as good, solid, no nonsense weight lifting. He isn't inventing anything here, and I am okay with that. I could have gone heavier in my chest weights, but I pushed my triceps. And while I didn't feel the same burn as I do after some of Cathe's workouts, my muscles were still trembling a bit an hour after the workout. I really liked his rep speed as well. So a good thumbs up from me on this one. The workout is about 48 minutes long with a very short warm-up and stretch. I followed it with Athletic Step.

Today I did Body Beast Build Legs, which is about 38 minutes. I am going to feel this one tomorrow. With Cathe's leg workouts lately being relatively light in weight or combined with plyo work, my legs are shaking from the straight forward, heavy weight work in this workout. And, again, this is just what I wanted. Sagi didn't bother me as much in this workout either. Again, nothing new in the moves, but I feel that encouraged me to go heavy. I followed it with Body Beast Abs, which, again, was not too unique. But I liked the blend of crunches with plank work. It is 10 minutes long. For cardio, I did Turbo Fire 60 which is about all these tired legs were going to take! So......so far, so good with the series. Definitely what I was looking for right about now.

Tami, that Quinoa salad sounds fantastic. I have to admit that I have become addicted to quinoa. So good! Congratulations on finishing up the rotation!! Sounds like Katy is a tougher instructor when she is sick?!? Crazy!

Thelma, hope your shoulder is feeling better. Good job finishing up the rotation. I am curious how you like this new one. It really looks like it will be a lot of fun. I enjoyed being outside as much as possible Friday and Saturday because our temperatures were perfect. That makes the beach nice. Yesterday was hot.....around 90. DH and I golfed. So weird to be that hot on November 1. I am ready for some cooler weather, but none of that is headed this way yet.

Laurie, hope you enjoy your Lean courses. Sounds like a great workout. I will keep posting these Body Beast reviews in case you get a chance to read them. Like I said above......so far, so good!

    See you tomorrow.

Hi Ladies ~ Happy Monday! Weekend was good, oh and we had a nice dinner with our friends on Friday evening and watched a movie when we got home, "South Paw" about the boxer. It was good. Saturday's workout was Lower Body Blast (to officially finish up the rotation) followed by Abwork (S90 Ultimate Ball), yesterday I did KCM Circuit Burn and then headed out to my Volleyball games. Started up my new workout rotation this a.m. with STS/Undulating/HiiT rotation that is a 10+ week rotation; I thought it would be perfect for inserting various kinds of Cardio on those "HiiT" days (Insanity Max 30 included) and I like the "undulating" factor. Laurel, you and I did this one at one time. So this a.m. was STS #1 Chest/Shoulders/Bi's . . . yes the "push-up" disc! But I was happy to make it through all of them no problem. Planning on going to BootCamp tonight after work.

Laurel: That is so funny with your description of Segi because I can picture exactly what you are saying; I am glad the workout is good enough to get past all that testosterone factor going on and he does do a good job it sounds like. Nice job. Your weekend sounds wonderful with catching up on your book and some nice sunshine. We have had very typical fall weather (40's & 50's) and rain included this weekend. Which we are still desperately in need of so it doesn't bother me too much. I think Katy is one of those people that hates being sick or "held back" so when she can push it harder she will! LOL Or push her class harder if she physically can't

Thelma: Congrats on finishing up the rotation!!! You worked hard and I am sure you are happy with how you did! Hopefully your shoulder is feeling better today. I think the new rotation you picked will be a really good transition going into from the one we just completed!

Laurie: Great job with the workouts! Hope you enjoy your courses and check in when you can

    Talk to you ladies tomorrow,

Hi Ladies, STS Meso I Back and Triceps tonight. I had to be very careful with my shoulder because I felt a weakness there. My shoulder felt a lot better this morning but not so much after the workout. My rotation calls for chest. shoulders, biceps so I'll have to see how I feel then. If I do it it will be with light weights. I discovered the offsite is not tomorrow but Wednesday. We were told they would do a shark tank style exercise. I guess there is a tv show called shark tank.

Laurie, great workouts! I'm not sure what a Lean event is but I hope it goes well.

Laurel, I'm glad you had a nice weekend. Temps have gone up here too. We're going to be in the high 60's this week and possibly 70's on Friday. Glad you made good progress with your book! It takes me forever to read a book because I don't have much time.

I'm glad you're liking the Body Beast program. Sounds great and it will do your body good to do a different training style. We may do different rotations with Cathe but the moves are pretty much the same. Good job!

I think this rotation will be a good one for me so I hope I don't have to give it up right out of the gate due to the shoulder. I may have to do a cardio week to allow the shoulder to get better. I spent a Thanksgiving holiday in FL and it was HOT so not surprised that you are still having hot temps.

Tami, sounds like you had a great weekend! Great workouts too! Are you saying the STS #1 Chest/Shoulders/Bi's has a lot of pushups? I'm going to have to pick another workout because I don't think all those pushups will be good for my shoulders. Will sub with another workout for those body parts.
That Quinoa salad sounded so good that I had to look it up. I think I found it but don't like the fact that there are no nutritional values. I'll have to enter the recipe in MFP so I know the caloric content. They have other good looking recipes. There is a Quinoa, spinach salad that looks wonderful.

Hi Ladies! Today was Body Beast Build Back and Biceps. Yowza!! This was a fantastic workout. Very basic but very tough. I loved all of the moves he did. I really pushed the weights and felt absolutely done at the end. In fact, I reached for my phone as I finished the workout, lifted it about three inches and promptly dropped it! My arms were spent! Love that feeling. So I took a bit of a break before doing cardio to let those muscles calm down. For cardio, I did IMAX2, which was perfect for today. Sagi didn't bother me at all in this workout. I definitely am giving this series thumbs up right now for anybody interested in basic heavy lifting.

Tami, I think that is the rotation we were doing last year at this time. I remember it being one of my favorite STS rotations. Bet those push-ups were a bit of a shock on the body. I am curious how STS will feel after Body Beast. Regarding Sagi, he was only obnoxious in that first workout. But that first workout had Shaun in it who was one of the bachelors on The Bachelorette and The Bachelor. I don't think Sagi appreciated him being there so he teased him a lot. Kinda strange, but I can look past that I suppose. What I wouldn't give for 40's and 50's right now. We broke the heat record for the day yesterday! It really feels like July right now. No fun when trying to plan for Thanksgiving!

Thelma, good job with the workout. Hope your shoulder improves some. That STS Meso 1 workout Tami did does have a lot of push-ups in it. You can modify them if you want to do the workout (even by doing push-ups standing facing a wall instead of on the floor). I had to modify the heck out of those workouts the first time I did them because of my shoulder. I was still recovering from frozen shoulder and just didn't have any strength or range of motion to do the various push-ups Cathe did. So I did them all on my knees in the standard form and only went about half way down. And it worked! Just a suggestion. Thanksgiving was warm here last year, and I think it will be even worse this year. I am hosting so at least I will be able to control the AC and keep the house cool enough for this menopausal cook! :D

    See you tomorrow!

Hi Ladies ~ I opted to head home last night ..... I had stayed a little later and didn't feel like rushing to class plus it was PITCH DARK!!!! After last week being a bit on the "not so good" for effectiveness it was an easy decision to talk myself into. LOL So I headed home and relaxed into making some dinner and a little TV. Would have loved an "in home" workout but DH was watching Monday Night Football. Which he has craved and absolutely missed while he was gone fishing. LOL This a.m. was X10 (X54 pre-mix) and tonight I am headed to Katy's Insane-X class. Fingers crossed it isn't all legs and lower body like last week; I have STS Legs in the a.m.

Laurel: You are exactly right on the rotation being last year at this time. I had a little note wrote about "being in L.A." one of the weeks and I was there for Thanksgiving last year. Also, celebrating the victory of my new job. December 3rd I have been here a year!!!!!! Yes, it is such a good rotation, I know I will enjoy it and the straight forward lifting, heavier/lighter, etc that STS offers is just what I was looking for; as we talked before  Yahoo on the thumbs up so far for Body Beast; I look forward to your comments so thank you for taking the time. Just might be another one to the "wish list" Funny on your weather comment. My sister and mom both txt this a.m. that it felt like "Fall" in L.A. at 55 and sunny; I commented ..... how about 37 and fog + drizzle! They said to get on a plane and come see them! LOL You are hosting Thanksgiving, that is awesome! Will your mom be coming? How is she doing by the way?

Thelma: Yes the STS #1 has a lot of push-ups; of course as in any workout you can modify but yes, (as Laurel commented above) I always know I am in for a lot of push-ups in Disc #1. She spreads them out throughout the workout and different variations but if your shoulder is bothering you it is probably close to 100 push-ups overall. Maybe give it a look and see what you think. :) Great job on Back & Tri's yesterday!
The recipe you sent here is very similar; yum, thank you!! I modified a recipe I had and added to it but nearly all the same ingredients forsure!

Hi Ladies, X10 premix 38 (I think). It had the low impact and step sections. I didn't realize the step section had weights and it just so happens that it was shoulders and biceps which is what I'm scheduled to do tomorrow. I definitely hurt my shoulder and how my shoulder blade area is angry/tight. I know the drill and I have to stop lifting until things calm down. So I'll hold off on this rotation and will stick to cardio, legs and abs for now. I did lift a little tonight (3 lbs!) during X10 and did a few push ups. Not a good move!
Temps have been pretty warm during the day. Talk about having to dig out summer clothes back out! Tomorrow is the offsite and no one is looking forward to it at work.

Laurel, I can't believe you totally killed your arms with that heavy lifting! Great job!!! Great job!!!
Good idea to do the push ups against the wall or on the knees keeping them shallow! It really is strange to be in FL during Thanksgiving and Christmas when you've lived in cold areas. Thank God for AC!!! My husband wears a fleece jacket the house since I started having hot flashes! LOL

Tami, food for you for allowing yourself a relaxing night. It's not like you didn't workout yesterday morning! Great workouts today!!! Isn't it a horrible feeling when you have to adjust to getting out of work when it's already dark out?
I'm definitely going to hold off on this rotation. Hopefully I'll feel better next week. I think 100 push ups even if modified will be WAY too much for me right now.
I might make that quinoa salad depending on the cals. I think it needs chicken and that will increase the calorie count! LOL

    Good night ladies!

Hi Ladies! Another fantastic Body Beast workout for me today. This time it was Build Shoulders. This one is 38 minutes long and a very thorough shoulder workout. He spends one section on the traps, which is an area that Cathe avoids (as she said back in her Pure Strength series, overly developed traps are not attractive on a female). But I am not worried about over developing my traps in 12 weeks, so it was nice having some different exercises. But he did a good job at hitting all three parts of the shoulder, and I really enjoyed the workout. I followed it with Intensity which is always fun.

Tami, sounds like a nice evening at home on Monday. No doubt you made up for the workout yesterday between X10 and Katy!! Tough stuff. Boy, 55 and sunny sounds fantastic! We are truly in a heatwave. They were saying on the news last night that the latest date Orlando has EVER had for a low in the 50's is November 21 (and that was 30 years ago). Right now, they see nothing between now and the 19th that will push us close to that. As it is, our usual average low is 61, and we have been sitting at about 75 as the low every night! Crazy. Hope it isn't like this all winter or I will be headed north real fast. Thanks for asking about my mother. Sadly things are not going well there at all. In fact, my sisters and I are kind of living day to day with her, so while I say I am hosting Thanksgiving for my in-laws......I have one foot also in Phoenix. My mom's cancer has spread very far. She went back on chemo in August but had a horrible reaction to it. Since then, she changed doctors and is trying chemo again. But one Thursday night (six weeks ago tomorrow), I got a phone call from my mother's doctor wanting me to know how sick she really is. When I asked him the 'how long?' question, he said it could be as early as a month (which is why I know how many weeks it has been). To be truthful, it has been a struggle lately. I am fighting against the urge to visit now knowing I will probably need to be there again soon. Thankfully my mom understands that. So.....like I said, it is day-to-day. My sisters and I have a daily rotation for calling her so we are in daily contact with her and each other. Thankfully, my workouts provide a much needed distraction to reality these days.

Thelma, I am so sorry to hear about your shoulder. But, as you said, you know this routine. Hopefully a week's rest will do the trick for you. Like I said to Tami, this weather is crazy, even for Florida. I told DH the other day that if it is this warm on
Thanksgiving, dinner will be a salad on the back porch! I can't think of having an oven on all day right now, even with AC!!

    See you tomorrow.

Hi Ladies ~ Last night's Insane-X class was the very traditional Insanity. Stayed in one place, did rounds of 4 exercises 3x each at 1 minute each. Etc.... it was good though. she mixed it up so it was lower body, upper body, plyo and maybe another lower or upper. This a.m. was STS Legs, which I always love and tonight will be Spinning.

Laurel: That's so great to hear another awesome BB workout!!! Yahoo. I can't even imagine your weather, I bet you do miss a little bit of the more "Fall" type temps but at the same time it has to be awesome to go to the beach or golf or whatever you want. On another note . . . . I am SOOOOO deeply sorry and sad hearted to hear about your mom not doing very well these days Laurel. I feel for you and your sisters. That call from her doctor had to have been excruciating for you  Glad you have a daily rotation of calls into her and no doubt she appreciates every one of you. Will you be trying to make plans to go to her soon then? After Thanksgiving sometime or wait and see. I am so glad your workouts are helping during this extremely difficult time for you . . I understand 100-million% on what you are saying there. So glad we have our workouts to get through.

Thelma: Sorry about your shoulder not getting better but smart of you to go back to doing what you know you can do for now. As you don't want to injure it further  I hope it gets better very soon! IT is weird adjusting to the pitch dark evenings at only 5:00 now. YIKES. Today is pretty cold out too so it just has that Fall bite in the air. Not complaining . . . just "adjusting" That is hilarious about your DH wearing a fleece jacket around the house. Good man, just adjusting to what he needs instead of complaining! LOL

Hope you ladies have a great evening ~ until tomorrow,

Hi Ladies, Slide 'n Glide and walking on the treadmill tonight. My shoulder is much better today. So I'm feeling hopeful that by next week I'll be able to start lifting again. I survived the offsite but I also left right before the shark tank thing started. It was boring as always but I moved around a lot since I sat in the back of the room and I could stand up and pace back and forth. Then on every break I went outside to walk around the parking lot.

Laurel, another amazing workout combo! Awesome job. I am so sorry your mom is not doing well. I agree with Tami that getting that call from the doctor must've been excruciating for you. Great strategy with your sisters to have a call rotation.
This morning my right shoulder blade area was super tight. The tightness moved from the left to the right side. I massaged and things are much better.
Laurel, I wouldn't blame you if your Thanksgivings meal is a salad out in the porch! This is why my husband wants us to be 'snow birds' when we retire. He wants to come back to MA for the hot months.

Tami, great workouts! I'm glad the Insanity class was good. Happy spinning tonight.
I can't believe we are having such warm temps this week Tami. We will hit 70's tomorrow! I have a good DH. He knows I get cranky when I have a hot flash. I told him once he was killing me with the hot temps in the house! LOL He turns 52 tomorrow!

    Good night ladies!

Hi Ladies! I had sort of a limited workout today. On Tuesday night, after sitting awhile, I got up and felt some tightness in my knee. Since I don't always have the best posture when sitting, I thought maybe it was from the way I was sitting. Yesterday it was fine throughout my workout, and I forgot all about it.......until I stood up after sitting a bit last night. Then I noticed I had a little swelling on the outside of my knee. I have never had knee issues so this is new to me! It felt tight last night but is fine again this morning. I have no doubt this is an overuse injury. So I am opting to forego cardio for a little while.....just to be safe. So today's workout was Body Beast Build Chest and Triceps. I really upped the weights on my chest, and it was killer! I am really loving these workouts right now and how they are making my muscles feel. Just the 'shock' they probably need. I followed it with CoreMax workout #3, which is a good one.

Tami, sounds like a good Insanity class. Thanks for your kind words about my mom. I struggle with going to Phoenix now or waiting until she really needs one of us to be there which is probably going to be sooner than later. So I am kind of living week to week on this right now, not trying to get too far ahead of myself. That phone call from the doctor was no fun, especially since it was then my responsibility to turn around and call my sisters and give them the news. I think I had more than one glass of wine the next evening. :o And a few more since then as well. B) My sisters and I at least joke about that because we are all the same. Even mom was saying the other day that she really wish she had some wine after the day she had had. Chips off the old block and all!

Thelma, glad to hear your shoulder is feeling better. Slide and Glide is such a good workout. Glad you were able to get some steps in during your course as well. DH and I may become a bizarre pair of 'snow birds' in the future. I love summer in Florida. Autumn......not so much. So if we could work it out, we would go north for October-December.....when the weather cools off but full-on winter hasn't started. That way we can experience a change of seasons around the holidays and then come home to Florida in January and leave winter to the rest of the world. But, of course, we can't do that while DH is still working. But maybe someday! Happy Birthday to your DH!!

    Until tomorrow.

Hi Ladies ~ Fun Spin class last night. Every year around this time she does a "mock" ride of a mountain near us and describes hills, turns, sprints, etc.... makes it a good workout and then she had some new music last night, so it was great! This a.m. was STS Back & Tri's and it felt good. The time flew by. No workout tonight but packing an overnight bag and getting ready for DH and I to leave work early tomorrow to head over to Spokane and go to a fund raiser and stay the night. It's a "fancy" event; we went last year and did the same thing. So it will be a relaxing evening at home with dinner and packing so I am prepared tomorrow when I leave work.

Laurel: I am sorry to hear about your knee being swollen, I am happy to hear you are giving it a much deserved and sounds like "needed" rest until it feels better. I am sure it will be good to go before you know it! I had to chuckle inside about the glasses of wine . . . that was completely my sister and I during the time we went to Costa Rica for my dad and were all on our own dealing with it all. IT was a very good coping mechanism at the time! My sister unfortunately was the one who had to make the call to me so I feel for you there; it was very hard. None of it is easy and I just pray that you have peace throughout this time in the "wondering" and "anx" of it all.
BB Chest and Tri's sounds like another winner!! So great to hear. If his style of training is good like you say it really makes me look towards that Hammer & Chisel program (as well) that Laurie has mentioned and I have seen the preview on. Decisions, decisions!

Thelma: Great to hear your shoulder is doing much better! A little R&R was maybe just what it needed in there. Yay  WOW!! 70's is crazy. Our high today and yesterday as well is 41 degrees. We are starting to get snow in the mountains this weekend too. We need all of it so again, not complaining. Just prefer warm weather! LOL Happy Birthday to your sweet DH! Are you going to celebrate tonight or this weekend maybe?

Hope you ladies have a great evening ..... I will try and check in before I leave tomorrow, otherwise I hope you all have a great weekend ~

Hi Ladies, I woke up with a really tight lower back. I had a really uncomfortable day as a result and didn't feel like working out but I knew I had to. So I chose KCM 30 MTF Cardio Quick Fix and Cathe's Yoga Relax. My back feels better. I spent a good amount of time stretching too. My shoulder is behaving but I can tell my left side is still feeling a little tight. I'm taking tomorrow off and it's going to be a busy day. I have to take Bella to her yearly ophthalmology appointment. Then I'm going to get a hair cut and will be trying a new hair stylist so I'm a little scared.

Laurel, sorry about your knee! Good strategy to forgo cardio for a few days to allow the knee to recover. I'm wondering if your your IT band is tight. Try massaging your thighs. I'm so glad you're enjoying your Body Beast program so much!
I hadn't done Slide and Glide in a very long time and I'd forgotten what a nice workout it is. Thanks for the birthday wishes for my DH!

Tami, sound like a great spin class! Great workouts! I hope you an your husband have a great time at the fundraiser. I remember you went last year.
I finally learned my lesson about my shoulder problems and simply have to let the tightness relax. 70's is crazy for sure. I was wearing flip flops today! It was already cold here but we must be in an Indian summer pattern. Thanks for the birthday wishes for my DH! He didn't want to go out to celebrate so I got him some of his favorite Tiramisu from our local Whole Foods. I got him a card from the cats that had a button that says: "I'm the boss". The cats told him he could wear the button for today but he had to return it to mom the following day! LOL

Lingo10 I'm glad you enjoyed your IMAX2 workout!

    Good night ladies!

    Morning Ladies,

I think this is the first time that I have been on social media all week. Other than getting on my phone early in the morning to post my morning workout, that has been it. In the morning I tried out Jillian's Killer Body workouts, so I have now done all three of them. Lower, Upper and Core. Really didn't enjoy the core workout all that much, she was trying to hard to do crazy alternatives to some exercises. Don't know how often I will be pulling that DVD out. I also did 30MTF Cardio Pump workouts, just did the Pump workout this morning. I really liked this one. She does 3 exercises for 1 min. each, in pyramid fashion. Starting with the heavy, and ending with the light. I went as heavy as possible, and really got a good burn. I have been doing the Cathe workout in the evening, so I'm on a roll. Suppose to be a leg workout that I don't have, so was thinking of one of Jillian's lower body ones. I do like her Killer Buns & Thighs. Next week I'm finally finished with the rotation, will see how I feel about doing High Reps and STS TB!

Laurel, I'm really loving your descriptions of Body Beast, and I'm thinking that it will be added to my DVD collection at some point. Hope that your knee starts feeling better after taking some time away from cardio. I'm really sorry to hear that you mother isn't doing so well, and my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this time.

Tami, Great job on your workouts and starting STS! Oh you had to remind me that there are tons of push-ups in that first STS! We had some really warm temps this week, it was in the 70's. Early this morning those temps dropped into the 30's after the rains went through. I will be waiting for people to do some reviews on the Hammer & Chisel, if they are positive then I will have that same choice to make. Have a great time this weekend, sounds like it will be fun.

Thelma, Sorry to hear that you are feeling some tightens. Have fun getting your new hair style. Like my youngest now says, hair grows fast if you don't like the style. I'm sure that it will be fun to have something new. Enjoy your day off even, even though it will be a busy one. Happy Birthday to your DH! I love what you did for him, oh and of course the cats contribution. LOL about being the boss for only one day! Lean events are just a dog and pony show, and to say that they have had these events every quarter for the last 3-4 years.

lingo10, Glad that you had a good time with the Imax2 workout!

    Have a great weekend,
    Laurie

Hi Ladies! My knee seems to be fine, but I still took it a bit easy on it today. I started with Body Beast Build Legs and took the weights down a bit from the first time I did it. And it was still a killer workout! So good. And no knee issues, so I opted to do
Cathe's Cardio Supersets from the LIS series. It felt good. So definitely on the mend from whatever it is that had my knee swollen.

Tami, hope you enjoy the weekend! I like 'fancy' events every now and again. Sounds like a great spin class as well. Glad to hear my sisters and I aren't alone in the need for wine during trying times. :) Thank you for your thoughts and prayers.

Thelma, sorry to hear about the sore back. Sounds like you made a good choice of workouts for helping it. I actually think my knee issues may stem from that ankle/calf injury I had last spring. My lower leg felt very similar to how it did then, but last spring I was more concerned about the ankle and didn't pay attention to the knee. It could be that I might have tweaked something that wasn't quite healed? I don't know, but I will keep monitoring it to see if it really is the knee or something else. Hope you enjoy the new hair style! Are you going shorter?

Laurie, good to see you! Sounds like a not-very-fun week you have had. But you have done some good workouts. I am definitely enjoying Body Beast and will be very curious about the Hammer and Chisel series. Again, Sagi isn't inventing anything new in these workouts, but they really seem effective. My muscles are really responding to them right now. Thank you for your thoughts on my mom.

lingo10, good to see you! I did IMAX2 earlier this week as well and absolutely loved it. Glad you enjoyed revisiting it again.

    Enjoy the weekend!

Hi Ladies, my lower back better on Friday so stretching it worked wonders. My upper back on the other had took a major setback. On Thursday night when I went to bed I could feel my left shoulder blade tighten up so on Friday my upper back was a mess. Felt better on Sunday during the day but at night things started to get tight again.
I'm not a happy camper at all. I wish I had never done that RWH Plyo workout! I wish I could set time back.

Friday I did Tabatacise. Saturday I woke up with my back feeling pretty bad as if on major muscle spasm and knew I had to move. I did with Kick, Punch and Crunch. Today I went with my usual spinning. My back felt better today during the day but not so hot now that it's night time. I'll keep taking Aleve. I don't think I'm going to start the STS rotation I had chosen. I think I'm going to repeat the rotation I just finished.
I made this Skinny Taste recipe today and it is very tasty.

Laurie, welcome back! Did you got through social medial withdrawals? Great workouts!
The new hair salon was a very good experience. I liked the stylist. She recommended that I let my hair grow and she did a lot of layering to give the curls a lift since which I liked. The card I got my husband from the cats was perfect. LOL
I heard people at work talking about being "lean" the other day. You know what's coming right? Some kind of lean training at work is probably in my future!

Laurel, I'm glad your knee is better and that you were able to do another killer leg workout! Good job! Do you think your ankle needs some strengthening exercises?
I thought I was going for a shorter haircut but I ended up with layers and a recommendation to let it grow. The stylist loved my curly hair and thought that it was best to "showcase" them.

    Good night ladies!

    Morning Ladies,

Saturday I took as a rest day, just was way to busy. We had our last puppy training course on Saturday, and Rocket passed with flying colors. At home I always think that he isn't learning, but he gets to class and shows off. :D This week is my last on the rotation, so yesterday I was in the mood for some yoga. I pulled out Yoga Warrior 365 The Gathering. Have not tried this set yet, and will probably go through them with my STS rotation next week. Then later in the afternoon I did High Reps, and it wasn't as bad as I remember. Everything went to exhaustion, so must have picked the right weight for each muscle. This morning I did Turbo Fire 30, just love that workout.

Laurel, Glad to hear that your knee is doing better, and that you took the Leg workout down a bit. It just might have been an arthritic flare up. I have those in the winter, but can happen when I torque my knee a certain way. I get a little fluid in the knee. I'm anxious to hear what the H&C workouts will be like. I had heard that Sagi was doing the bulk, and Autumn was doing the cut. Might be an interesting combo. Nice that your muscles are responding to the workouts, it probably is just enough variation that it is giving your muscles confusion.

Thelma, So glad to hear that your back is feeling better after you stretched it out. Sounds like a solid plan for your rotation, the heavy lifting probably wouldn't be good for you right now. LOL, I really didn't miss the social media all that much. It was kind of nice to take a step back for a little while. Glad to hear that you found a good hair stylist, sounds like she is listening to what you want and making it look great. Lean can be great tool in certain areas, and incorporate it with 6 Sigma. In my area, they created these expectations that are not necessary. All the ergonomics are not needed in an area that you don't pull parts from on a consistent basis. I hope that when you have a lean project, that it is something useful. Then they are good lean events to be in.

    Have a great day!

Hi Ladies! Had a nice weekend here despite the heat. Everybody is complaining about it. DH and his students were in a Veteran's Day parade on Saturday and a few of his students went down with the heat. That shouldn't happen in November. But what are you going to do about it, right? Anyhow, Saturday was my day off from working out. I did do lots and lots of housework, though.

Yesterday I was back at it. I did Body Beast Build Shoulders. My knee/leg felt good, so for cardio I did TF55EZ. Then, for abs, I did STS Med Ball Abs and had DH join me on the partner part. This is the first time I have done the partner part, and it was good. DH and I did have a little miscommunication at one point leading to the med ball flying across the room with no one to catch it. But after we stopped laughing, we were able to finish the workout. :D Today's workout was Body Beast Build Back and Biceps. I took the weight up for biceps and oh my. :o I am loving these workouts, though. For cardio, I did RWH LI HiiT One and Two premix. My leg feels fine, but I am going to try to moderate the impact for a little while......just to be safe.

Thelma, I am sorry to hear about your back. Sounds like you got some good workouts in but also sounds like you've been pretty uncomfortable. I think you have a great plan for your workouts right now. Also sounds like a great hair appointment! I love working with a stylist who knows how to handle curl, and it sounds like you found one. Glad you are enjoying the new look.

Laurie, yay for Rocket passing his class! Maybe he will eventually apply what he has learned at home. Sounds like some good workouts Sunday. Glad you enjoyed your revisit to High Reps. I kind of had the same reaction after I had a long break from it. Now I really enjoy it. Interesting you mention arthritis and my knee, because that crossed my mind. I don't think of myself as having arthritis, but if I ever imagined how it would feel, the way my knee felt those two evenings would be it. Do you do anything for yours when it gets fluid on it.,...because, again, I was thinking that might be the issue. Any pointers are much appreciated.

Tami, hope you enjoyed your weekend in Spokane!!

    See you tomorrow.

Hi Ladies ~ Happy Monday! The weekend was good and Friday evening was a lot of fun. It was probably double the size of last year and a lot of fun. We ended up waking up early and heading home by around 8:00 a.m. ..... which then made DH say, "maybe next year we won't stay over" LOL Eventhough the beds are amazing at this hotel, its just not the same as being "home". Since Spokane is only about 30 miles from home, its seems a little more practical; we will see. Food was good at the event and fun to see all the dressy, dressy people. I felt almost under-dressed with my cocktail type dress, but I was perfectly happy and comfortable!

When we got home I plugged in a KCM workout; Plateau Buster which is always a fun one, yesterday was STS Chest/Shoulders/Tris Disc #13 (Meso 2), then headed off to Volleyball league; we only had 3 of us yesterday so it was a much tougher workout! This a.m. was STS #14 Legs, and a great workout; I added on abwork at the end since I had time. Tonight I may head home for a workout instead of BootCamp; DH is watching football with some friends! So I will have that option. I heard last week's BootCamp class was not very good at all; Jessica was back and just didn't "bring it" so an at home workout tonight would be awesome.

Laurel: So happy to hear about your knee feeling better; hopefully it is just something very common and simple that can just happen once in a great while vs. often. An arthritis flare up or something that just requires a little rest is much easier to deal with forsure  Thumbs up on the workouts and again, awesome to hear how much you are enjoying the BB workouts and that you are feeling them to be effective, always a huge PLUS!!!!!

Laurie: Great job with the workouts and congrats on heading into your final week of the rotation! Awesome job sticking with it and making it your own as well. Between what I have read from Laurel on BB and what I have read about H&C I am really looking forward to this program! "Christmas List" forsure it sounds like

Thelma: Way to go on the workouts and pushing through . . . listening to your body as well!! STS is probably not the program you want to start into right now if you think your body is not up to it. As Laurie and Laurel both said, good plan to do what you know you can do right now and with lighter weights you can modify as well if need be.
Very fun on the hair-do and having a hair dresser you like. Love the new picture by the way!

Hope you ladies enjoy the rest of your day and evening ~ talk to you all tomorrow!!

Hi Ladies, I decided to restart the anti-gravity rotation. I'm starting to feel that STS is bad luck for me as I get hurt every time I'm going to do it. Anyway, I had a good back day today so I decided to do the first workout in the rotation which is RWH Hiit Circuit Upper Body with bonus abs. I did it with 3 lb weights for most of the workout to play it safe. I could hear my vertebrae popping left and right which was kind of freaky. I imagine the popping I heard was that things back there are tight. I applied heat after my workout and so far so good. I did something to my left knee when I got in my car after work tonight. It felt like the knee went to the left and my foot went to the right. THAT was scary! I feel better now.

Laurie, congrats to Rocket for graduating from puppy training! So cute! Great workouts this weekend! I'm glad you made it through High Reps!! You just have to leave the workout for a night when you have plenty of time to do it all.
Thankfully I've learned to deal with this shoulder issue. I just know it needs rest. I could deal with not having social media access as I don't really do it that much. What I need when I travel is internet access so I can check my cats via my kitty cams. What a relief to have found a good hair stylist! Speaking of social media! My town has all these groups on Facebook and that is how I get town news! I asked the people in town to recommend a hair stylist who could cut curly hair. I got a lot of recommendations but I thought it was interesting that most of the women who replied didn't have curly hair. I finally got a reply from a woman who clearly had curly hair and I went with her stylist! LOL
I hope we don't have to do that Lean training Laurie. We already do enough useless stuff at work like last week's offsite!

Laurel, do you keep the AC blasting at home? My house would be freezing if I lived there! LOL. Glad your knee is better. OMG that is so funny about the ball flying across the room with no one at the other end waiting to catch it! The partner ab workout looks like a lot of fun. Great workouts! I love that you're enjoying your Body Beast workouts so much! Awesome!!!
I have to tell you this back thing has been a terrible inconvenience. It was so weird that after things felt like they had calmed down; all of a sudden they tightened back up. So frustrating. That Plyo workout deserves a NEVER again sticky! I am so happy to have found this new hair stylist because she is good and the salon is 10 minutes from my house.

Tami, so glad you had a great weekend! Maybe it's better to stay at the hotel in case you're feeling too tired to drive home. Great workouts! How did you ladies do in the VB league given you were shorthanded?
One of these days I'll be able to get into STS. So far no luck getting there. Thanks on the picture. Every once in a while when I get a new hair cut I take a selfie. Weird that it doesn't show up on my web browser. I do see the pic on my phone app though.

    Good night ladies!

Hi Ladies! Today was Body Beast Build Chest and Tri's. I played around with the weights on the chest part which meant my arms were fried by the time we got to triceps. But it was good. For cardio, I did KPC, which is always good. The knee is still feeling good, but I am shying away from step workouts for a little while still. Many of those seem to have so much torque on the knee, and I am not ready for that, at least mentally.

Tami, glad the event was nice. LOL about going home early though! But I understand exactly what you are saying about just wanting to be home when you are so close. Great workouts, as always! I hope you were able to get a workout in at home last night. That BC class......must be so disappointing for it to be so inconsistent. Your volleyball sounds hard but fun! Why so few people?

Thelma, hope your back continues to improve. All of that popping can mean it is loosening up, but I know I don't like to hear popping in my back like that! I forgot to thank you yesterday for the suggestion about strengthening my ankle. That suggestion is one of the reasons I did KPC with morning. There are so many moves that thrust all of the body weight on to one leg in that workout that I thought it would be a good one to see if I felt any weakness in that leg ankle/leg. Last spring, after I hurt myself, I could definitely feel a difference in some of those moves. But it felt good today. I am thinking it could be arthritis or maybe even shin splints of some sort. So I will keep monitoring it, icing it, and see what happens. Anyhow, thank you because that was a good thing for me to check. Muscle imbalances can cause so many problems, which I know all too well unfortunately. I keep the house about 75 or 76 degrees, so the AC isn't on ALL the time. But it goes much lower than that at night so I can sleep! Thankfully our new home is pretty efficient so our electric bills are pretty reasonable. Of course, when my in-laws come over, they freeze because they keep their house at 79--day and night!! One of the reasons I am happy to have Thanksgiving here because that is too hot for me.

    Laurie, hope you are well.

    Off to my hair appointment!!

    Laurel
