Supah bulky! Went from still smallish but no definition to having some nice back muscles and feeling strong.

I appreciate not being the only one to bump this one, haha! I'm still new to lifting, but today I managed 6 reps of 50kg deadlift (think I'd previously only tried 30), getting there slowly working up to being able to do one pull up as well, haha6 -

Perhaps try some chalk.
Try a grip so that the knuckles on one hand are facing away from you and the knuckles on the other hand are facing towards you-alternate grip.1 -
Ok so question for heavy lifting women...
I am 43 year old mum of 3. I have lost 27kg (60lb) over the last 1.5 years with some more to go.
I have taken pride in the fact that it's entirely possible to get in shape without setting foot in the gym.
My family is keen on events such as the Tough Mudder and I'd love to join them on a Half Mudder this year. I'm already fairly fit thanks to the hill walking/running/biking I do But I really need to get some strength to hoist all of this over walls!
I have a set of free weights and bench, hand weights, fixed weight home gym and a suspension trainer. I will research proper form and technique and have a spotter.
So experienced lifters, can you give me scalable programme that you personally recommend for starting lifting (or an app/website that works)?

Choose a beginner programme you can start with given time and equipment restraints.
A lot of people enjoy one of the 3x3 or 5x5 linear progression programmes. They consist of the basic compound lifts and strength can progress relatively fast.
I’ve always enjoyed AllPro. It’s a little different but works well for me.

I went from super skinny to finally some muscle in my upper body and I now own something you can call a booty.
Thanks to the Strong Curves program.

Someone needs to inspire me to get bulky because I started lifting last night and let me tell ya- I had a lot fun, but I am SO SORE. Particularly my thighs (inner and back) and my GLUTES.2

Hey, my "bulky" journey is from anorexia/bulimia to a healthy weight.:) Although my mother worries that I'll turn into a man and no one will marry me, but well... I love it, lifting has saved my life (unfortunately, I'm not kidding, we had some fights about lifting and my bulkiness haha)
that's in 2015, when I was a "full time" bulimic, occasionally I would try to exercise with an attempt to lose weight because I still considered myself fat
in 2016, my very first days of ED recovery, since then I have barely missed more than 3 days of gym, but still I was mostly doing cardio (10 km a day etc.)
2017 - started to lift
2019 April - took me some time to figure out all this weigh-lifting stuff, but finally I've started to see some results - here I had around 16 kilos more than in the first picture (now I'm slightly cutting for summer hah)
oops, sorry for such a long post, but I wanted to share it with someone who can actually appreciate it

How did I miss this thread yesterday . . . oh, work got in the way. *kitten*.
I lost my first 30 pounds or so by eating at a deficit and doing cardio. I ran. A lot. I went from a size 18 to a size 14 in about 8 months.
I hurt my foot last summer and had to come up with something else to keep me from going crazy(ier). Some of my awesome guy friends (and ladies) here convinced me to start lifting heavy.
I don't eat at much of a deficit anymore, if at all. I've only lost about 5 additional pounds since I started lifting but I've gone from a size 14 (last summer) to a size 10.
Here's a before pic and a some pics I've taken over the last couple months.
I still have a long way to go. Hopefully one day I'll find my f#cking abs and I'll be able to post a pic of that :happy:
I have lost exactly what you have with no lifting. You look fantastic and I look squishy. I gotta get to the gym. Thank for the inspiration. And you also look much younger!10 -

@atevy, I also started lifting to help with my ED. It really does help to have somewhere else to focus the energy and urge for control, but in a much more productive way. You look amazing!1

I've been doing strong curves since February, it's hard for me to stay in a deficit because my margin of error is so small, but so far I feel 100 times better and stronger!
You all look great, keep up the good work!
