Heavy lifting is helping me become strong, healthy, and fit!27 -
I never done so much core in my life. CX Work, Sydney Cummings, and some Adaptiv podcast workouts. Mar 21 (start of lockdown) -> May 3 -> May 17. Slowly but surely.
Scale says I’m the same weight in all pics. Same bf too but we know that is not entirely accurate. Any guesses on current bf? Scale says 17.7% but I’m thinking a tad more. This is me no water, no food, right after rolling out of bed and 💩

@alexmose - that is a fantastic recomp!!! I would put you at less than 17% honestly. I think you are probably closer to 15-16%.1

This made my ❤️ fly. I honestly do feel ready to step on stage 😂😂😂1 -
YAYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!! My trainer says I can start back next week. Oh happy dance, happy dance!!!!!!
I haven’t even been allowed to come to the gym at all because she says I’m a “senior”. She’s 70. I have learnt it’s more exercise than lifting itself than to argue with her. She is one of a kind, an absolute doll, a joy to train with, and I am so happy to be back under her wing.
Oh boy, this is like Christmas! YAYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!! YIPPEEEEE!!!!!!8 -

That's exactly how I felt when my gym opened back up!2 -
Heavy lifting is cool but only if you're ready.0

Welllllll . . . maybe it's the definition of "heavy" that varies, more than some abstract idea of "ready"?9 -

If you were looking for a trolly-y name and place to use it, I think you found both.

Nope. If I had waited till I was ‘ready’ I wouldn’t have started lifting.14 -

Getting there! Had to drop to 105 lb on bench press for more reps/sets. Couldn't get over 115lbs23 -
Thank you!0

I have no criticism about how you looked before, but you look STUPENDOUS after! Quite well done!

I've thrown in more workouts with dumbbells past few months... my weight has been stable (159cm and 58kg +-1kg), late march vs early july:

I love seeing all of you strong women, I'm getting back into my weights post-lockdown and still really hoping I'll have a success story here one day!3

My trainer took this one today. I can honestly say, I did a double take when I saw it.
This one is July 2018

@springlering62 - WowWowWowWowWOW! Those arms, yeah, but also the muscular definition and taut shapeliness from there all the way down your torso to hips (core!). Looking at your current photo, I would think you'd been one of those "slim and super fit for decades" women. Literally incredible two year progress . . . and I'll bet it *feels* even better than the extreme amount of fabulous that it looks.
Impressive!12 -
@springlering62 Wow just wow!!! What an incredible transformation. Your arms are amazing!3

@Springlering62 My oh my oh my! You just cannot post those photos and not tell what program you were using! Arm goals!! Core goals! All goals! You rock!1

Thanks for all the nice words, everyone!
I do a ton of various styles of heated and unheated flow yoga and mat Pilates, and I walk a ton, and run not enough.
I started back to the gym three weeks ago, but it’s a serious metal gym, and I lack confidence around these incredible NCAA and Olympic hopeful athletes so I hide in a corner and do the things I know I can do without making an utter *kitten* of myself, lol. Seriously, they are all sweet and supportive as can be and never a whiff of “judge”.
I started back up with my trainer last week. She’s 71, and was hesitant to let her “seniors” back in for fear we’d pick up covid, so kept pushing back dates for us older gym users. I am so fortunate and honored that she took me on last year. It’s wonderful having a great trainer, but having one you genuinely love takes it to a new level.
The weights complement the yoga. I’ve finally accomplished some arm balances, with the extra body strength.
The yoga complements the weight training, since most yoga sequences involve a chatarunga, which is sorta two pushups, and a good flow requires a lot more strength than people expect. The flexibility helps, too.
My Pilates instructor is pretty tough, and I give her a lot of credit for helping me build a strong core.
Zoom has been a blessing, since I’ve been able to keep up with familiar teachers and practices during all this, as well as giving me the unexpected opportunity to take some classes my daughter teaches from the west coast.
I’m retired, and decided when I started losing weight that I might as well treat “me” as my new job.
Can I just add, I want to be a role model, respect commanding dynamo hottie at 71 like this little powerhouse!!!!!52 -

this is EXACTLY my same mindset and strategy, now that I'm retired. You're quite an inspiration!
WE ARE ATHLETES!!!13 -
@springlering62 There you go. Talk about a 'redecorating plan'. I would interested in your timeline. Not weight loss but the redecorating part. How you felt as you were rearranging things. How long did it take for specific parts to go from A to B. Muscle mass replacing everything. What a transformation. My jaw dropped.3
