morning everyone! sooooo sore this morning! i had another great psycho-lady specialty at the gym yesterday, followed by 30 minutes of hula hooping! i am sooooo feeling it right now! all the same, i'm about to head to the park for my doctored-up c25k. right now i'm alternating a 7 minute jog and a 3.5 minute jog with a 3 minute rest period. doesn't look so bad written down...but i'll probably stuck here for another week or two before bumping up to an 8 minute jog! anyhoo, hope everyone has a wonderful pr-turkey day! if you go out for groceries, please be careful and don't get stampeded! it's been crazy around here!

welcome to all new nom-nom non-moms! glad you're here!

So, weigh in day wasn't great but better than I expected after a week of a birthday bash. Because of my schedule changing up daily, I didn't get to the gym as much as I wanted. I expected to gain my 2 pounds back, gained .2, better than I thought but I prefer a loss. The next few days will be rough but I just have to remind myself that I don't want to be miserable.

    Have a great day!!

Well, I doubt you have any baby weight to lose. You're the second guy to ask!

Welcome, newbies. Chanstriste, your c25k could kick my c25k's butt. I don't feel too bad while I'm doing it, but I am crazy sore afterward. Today was day two and I probably shouldn't have done it. Going to do Jillian for the next couple of days and do my last day of week 1 on Saturday. I'll have my HRM by then anyway, so I'll actually know how to log it and how many calories I'm burning. Odd how a person can work out almost every day and one little seemingly innocent workout comes along and turns her world upside down. I have to say, I must be a masochist, because I really like it! I am so doing a half marathon next year.

How's everybody's Wednesday going? My husband is home because we have to go to the eye specialist for some pressure behind his eye. The last time I went to an appointment with him, it was the dentist in August, and I was reading a magazine that had a bunch of helpful websites for weight loss. Most of those were blogs, and I made a note in my phone of all of them. One, though, was MFP! Thank you, dentist's office, for bringing me here. Also, it's curry night.

Anewpath, next week will be better. Just stick to it! Besides, that's not so bad. You can do this.

Making veggie curry tomorrow, and then I'm going to post the recipe in here. It's very easy to make and it's a meal for 2, so I figured it might be helpful to someone. If not, oh well. Anyone else fancy posting their favorite non-mom (smaller) nom nom (recipe)?

Actually been thinking about creating an entirely new thread for this in the recipe section. Something like "recipes for two" and explain that the idea is for people to post recipes that are relatively quick, easy, healthy for two adult-like people. I don't cook for two, so I'm not much help. We only have two adults living in our house, but we eat leftovers a lot.

thats a great idea! Its only me and my husband and we'll make one meal during the week that has leftovers but we like to make other meals with just enough for the 2 of us

Just found this tread - what a great idea! I'm also, as you might expect, a non-mom. I just joined and glad to see a forum of women in a similar place as me.

Question: What does c25k mean? I've seen in multiple times...

    By the way, I'm Chana.

I looked it up and it is a "Couch to 5K" running program.

Glad to see this thread. I'm a non-mom. I have simply made crappy decisions regarding health and fitness and want to get my "real" life back again! Current goal is to break 200lb. It would seem that once you go over it's a giant, Hurculean task to get past it again. I came on here about a month ago at 208lb, then went up to 213lbs... now I'm at 209lbs and so excited to lose 4lbs but then saw my ticker said zero..... looked back and realized I'd simply lost what I'd gained in the first place. Sigh.

Indeed it is. You can search for it in google. It's a program that helps people run. You start out slowly, but even so, it's a rough workout. I thought I was tough until I met c25k.

You can do this. Mini goals are a good thing, so focus on that one, and you'll get there eventually.

I saw my goal weight on the scale this morning!!! It was the second time I stepped on and so it may not be entirely accurate, but it was nice to see the day before Thanksgiving. I imagine once I get back into exercising (I've been slacking horribly since I got back to town) that it will go up again. But at least now I know my December goals will be accurate.

Not sure how much time you have to exercise, but I managed to burn 500 calories this past Saturday doing the Slim & Lean 1000 workout in the Get Ripped! series with Jari Love. It took about an hour, and wow, what an hour!

I weighed and measured myself tonight, hoping to get out of my funk...and guess what, IT SURE DID! I know it's not Monday (my usual weigh in day) but here are my specs from when I started until tonight

    weight - down 20lbs
    Neck - 0 inches
    Waist - 4 inches
    Hips - 5 inches
